With the current political climate in the free state of Florida (cough, cough), they are all about taking away rights not extending rights to help people, therefore we don't know how the petition will shake out. It seems to me that if enough people sign the damn petition and the petition is a simple as it seems, this should go on the ballot. We are currently in a culture war and now our health and well being is in the hands of one or two people. DeSantis won't win Florida or anywhere else without getting out of the way of this issue. I don't really care that Moody is opposed, the PEOPLE have spoken. She needs to step aside.
I believe we'll see a vote from the Banking committee very shortly. There has been no official acknowledgement of a vote, but this is why in a down market, you get this type of run up. Probably insiders in congress realizing they will be voting soon. IMO.
I don't know, but it seems that a lot of that debt is due over the course of several years. It's not like they have to pay it all at one time. Generally, you borrow what you can to do what you need to do as long as you can service the debt. From what I recall, Rivers said they have the money to service the debt and pay taxes. So total debt to me is a non-issue unless they continue to add debt at a level they are no longer able to service. So a correct analysis would specify the debt that is due over a certain period and the amount of money available to service that debt, rather than they owe 1.5 billion or whatever. It doesn't tell me much if one simply says they owe 1.5 billion or whatever and there is no explanation as to the breakdown and the amount of money needed to service the debt and the amount of money coming in that will go toward servicing that debt. There are a couple of options, you either redo the debt to a different time frame or create enough money to pay off what you owe for that particular time period. So the question is what is due in the short term, is there enough cash to pay it and is there enough coming in to service the other outstanding debt without refinancing. If not, how do we cut everything else we can to make that happen. Quit advertising, layoff employees, reduce other expenses that are not necessary to create product, refinance the debt or sell more product.
It's always easier to second guess. Things change and you have to adapt to that scenario. Just like anything else with the stock market, if you aren't long term, you are taking your chances with the news cycles and events that occur that you have no control over.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) says a committee vote on a marijuana banking bill will be scheduled “in the near future” following an initial hearing on Thursday—and he is reiterating plans to attach criminal justice reform provisions to the financial services measure.
Banking associations representing all 50 U.S. states—as well as various other financial, insurance and union organizations—are calling for Senate committee passage of a marijuana banking bill “as quickly as possible.”
We'll see what happens.
I don't think they have much in CA. So don't see that as a big problem, however, it certainly drains assets if they have any facilities.
Decided to pick up more today. Never know what tomorrow brings.Yep, the charts don't work with this one. News of Safe took it up and lack of news and negative 1st qtr has taken it down. How far does it go, nobody really knows because there isn't any news. What we do know is there will be a vote on Safe before Jan 2025.
Pretty good numbers from FL OMMU this week. 120,527,531 mgsTHC medical and over 44k oz smokeable.
Florida Marijuana Legalization Campaign Reaches Signature Goal, Says Major Funder Trulieve
I don't follow CA or CO because TCNNF has little exposure there.
So what chart told you it was going down ?
Unfortunately there has been no positive news other than they did have a senate hearing on Safe Banking. Had there been some positive news from the 1qtr report and more direction from the Senate, we would be somewhere else. Pretty heavy volume, unfortunately it was on the downside.
It will force more of the smaller outfits out of business sooner and keep them from expanding.
More competitive not really a bad thing for TCNNF. I think Schumer steps aside on his pie in the sky if he gets much push back.

Wednesday : FULL COMMITTEE HEARING
Examining Cannabis Banking Challenges of Small Businesses and Workers
DATE: Thursday, May 11, 2023 Add to my Calendar TIME: 09:45 AM LOCATION: Dirksen Senate Office Building 538
While I think Safe can pass, Schumer needs to give up his pie in the sky requests and get it passed.
IMO we will close at or above 6 this week pretty easily. Onward and upward.
Two significant events this next week. Hearing on Safe and TCNNF reports 1qtr earnings. That could make the week a very profitable one, assuming both events are positive.
6 here we come.
On April 26, 2023, Joy Malivuk, age 48, was appointed as the Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer of Trulieve Cannabis Corp. (the “Company”). Ms. Malivuk has nearly 24 years of accounting and finance experience. Prior to joining the Company, from 2008 to 2023, Ms. Malivuk held roles of increasing responsibility, including most recently as Director of Accounting at HSN, Inc., a subsidiary of QVC, Inc., where she oversaw the accounting function and was responsible for financial reporting, general accounting and SOX compliance. Previously, she served as HSN’s Operational Vice President of Financial Reporting and SEC Compliance.
Why would you hire someone of this caliber ? Because something big is about to happen.
Key Senate Committee Officially Schedules Hearing On Marijuana Banking Bill For Next Week (11 May). So now we have at least a committee hearing, then hopefully it can move on to a floor vote. This is big news, but we'll see what happens.
We'll see what happens next week. Could be a really good week for TCNNF with earnings reporting and this : https://seekingalpha.com/news/3965912-sen-sherrod-brown-eyes-safe-banking-hearing-next-week
Glad TCNNF has dispensaries in MD. 3 dispensaries currently open.

Anticipation of Safe Banking passing the congress and senate.
Looks like we're headed to 6 in the short term. You can't hold a good stock down.

8295 Sancus Blvd, Columbus, OH 43081 – Opening in 2023
I am hopeful congress and senate can get their act together. Schumer needs to let Safe pass without adding a bunch of "like to haves". A standalone bill will be key. We'll see what the quarter report shows in ten days. If congress does pass something you better be watching very closely because I think the price will jump radically to the upside. Without some legislation I think we see the smaller outfits go under, which wouldn't be a bad thing for TCNNF.
Thanks for the first hand report. Apparently they opened two dispensaries today. One in Macon also.
I keep posting these articles because it shows that at least there is some talk going on, whether the bills pass or not depends on the Republicans. Once we get common sense republicans in the congress maybe things will change.

For my friend that questions my prior post. Republican lawmakers have advanced legislation that would exempt DeSantis’ official travel from public records laws. The bill, which already passed the state Senate and is likely to pass the state House, would apply not just to DeSantis’ future travel, but also his extensive use of state planes throughout his time as governor. Slowly but surely they are dismantling what has existed for years.

Maybe the senate and congress have figured out that Safe Banking is a good incremental move. If so, the rocket ship will take off. With over 600k shares traded today, I'd say we may be headed higher. A couple of weeks until the next earnings report. I suspect we might see some improvement in the numbers. Sales in FL have been up during the quarter.
We are now above the 10 average volume within the first 30 minutes of trading and the price shows it.
Is this causing the big run up today ?

I'm guessing the volume and price action were not on anybody's chart radar.
