Agree. Hard to believe a marketing prof would agree with an accounting prof, but there it is.......
For the reasons listed and many more, agree, keep Carter off the board. There is far more downside to him being involved than upside - I can't think of any upside and can't for the life of me understand why anyone is still speaking up in favor of any further involvement by BC in UOIP. It makes zero sense.
Nor am I. It always puzzles me to read anyone saying anything favorable about him, much less speaking in favor of him being a member of a UOIP board, since he is the reason we're sitting and waiting rather than counting our $$. What gives with that?
Billy may have wanted to settle for less to be done with it but aren't the attorneys who won the settlement working n contingency? Are they likely to settle for peanuts?
And we should have left the "side bet" alone. But we didn't, and here we are.
How true....the truth does always comes out....because you can only fool people some of the time. Sooner or later, the truth comes out...
Shaj, a more appropriate song for Billy is Warren Zevon's "Mr. Bad Example". In the chorus, replace Mr. Bad Example with Mr. Billy Carter and you've got the UOIP theme song/march....
long, can you put your research finger on the date that the last UOIP court case was announced? I thought I had it but can't find it, thanks.
I wanted to re-read the Pacer that announced the date.
Does anyone recall or have access to the date that the 2021 lawsuit was announced? I think it was in a Pacer?
Well reasoned and well said.
Agree, if he wasn't strapped for cash, why pay for wire transfers? That seems like desperation to me. If transfers of money aren't urgent, the mail works fine. Even with today's postage costs, a Priority Mail envelope is under $9 and usually arrives in two days. The loan history, use of wire transfers and lack of a realistic repayment schedule doesn't speak to normal business practice.
Also, Billy doesn't own his home, he rents. He seems to own nice suits but that doesn't mean he can afford either house or suits. It paints a curious picture.
Agree - and how did he get a legit law firm to work for him?
Hopefully, that filing doesn't show that our UOIP shares are secondary to the UnifiedOnline! entity he seems to have created. Or, does it?
Sweet Cheeses. I'm 71 and those are films my PARENTS watched! Try something from the - oh - I don't know - this decade? How about a whodunit? Try "Knives Out", it's fantastic. Or, "The Grand Budapest Hotel", also fantastic cinema. Want something mind-bending? Watch "Russian Ark". And, YOU KIDS stay off my lawn!
I'm 71....those movies are ancient. Watch something from the current century, you old codger.....
Just how old are you guys???
There's a golf course adjacent to Billy's house. He probably has a big enough yard, also.
You sound like a gossip columnist, ZW.....
Maybe Leanne should have brought her case against Billy to Judge Judy's court.......
Hi Ranger...I know, I posted a reply to BA before reading ZW's post. He seems to know more, I was just guessing based on how the situation felt to me. Don't ask me how I know things like that happen.....
Or, they may have or have had a relationship other than as colleagues.
YIKES!
That's lot of $$ to let someone get into you for, even over time. And, when did she become a Dr.? Dr. of what?
Looks that way to me as well. It shouldn't throw a wrench into our works.....
Well, I tried, but I failed to write UnifiedOnline as all one word, someone corrected me on that, though. Keep us posted on your thoughts.
I had a dream last night that I can't discuss on a public forum..
Tuesday?
Thanks, Rockie.....didn't mean to further muddy the water.
Hi Riptov, we are shareholders of Unified Online, not United Online.
You aren't alone, FrankP. My per share cost is a bit higher than yours.
Don't get too excited - he said there had been no contact for over two years.
Pretty big numbers after all expenses.....one can hope, though!
Thanks!!
Hi SF - what's going on about a chart and buyout? I missed the post.
Exactly. It is not prudent nor businesslike to sit back and hope. Proactive stance is best, even if we were late to start. OK to trust, but verify that the other party is trustworthy and have legal representation to do that verification.
Someone please remind me of the date that UOIP was delisted. Thanks in advance.
We still own shares in UOIP whether it is listed and trading or not - think of UOIP as a privately-held company that you hold shares in.
jbbb - what was it we, and you, were buying shares in then? Who sold the shares in UOIP and what were the proceeds used for?
PT - the meanness is the point.
Thanks, AJ, I use a cell phone but sign up for such things on my desk top or laptop....
I'll just suck it up and sign up for FB. I've avoided it since it was first launched....I was working as a marketing prof and saw immediately what FB really was, a way to get user's information to profit from. Several of my students immediately got in trouble posting images they shouldn't have, parties where they were drinking and smoking joints, got outed by "friends" and kicked off athletic teams. Oh well, this is good reason to finally sign up.....UOIP is dragging me, kicking and screaming into the 20th century (yes, I know it is now the 21st century).
