Since the original post was buried, I thought I would repost this and see if we can get some more feedback and/or suggestions on the proposed rule change.
Equate harassing PMs to harassing phone calls. If someone keeps calling you to harass you but is more inclined to behave in public if for no other reason than due to public scrutiny, would you continue to allow them to call you or would you block their number?
Everyone has had unlimited ignores for quite a while now. A couple of years, at least.
I was very clear. As I stated in not so many words, under the current rules, having an opinion about another poster is not allowed. Under the revised rules, the opinion about the other poster would be allowed.
Which part is unclear?
That is precisely why we opened up the topic for feedback.
Under which set of rules? Current or proposed?
Current: No.
Proposed: Yes.
One post is about the company, the other is about a poster. The two are not the same.
It actually does. Comments/information/opinions about the company are perfectly on topic. Comments/information/opinions about other posters, under the current TOS, are NOT the topic. It is up to each poster to determine for themselves what is truth and what is a lie. You may offer an opposing viewpoint pertaining to the subject matter you disagree with but you may not offer an opinion about another poster.
Nothing was taken personally. Admin truly have no interest in any stock, nor does the TOS, so poster sentiment does not figure into why posts are removed.
I think you’re spot on with that. I understand that larger social media sites, such as Facebook, have bots that get the reports initially and an actual human doesn’t see the reported post unless another review is requested. While we do not have the volume that those other sites do, being a dedicated rather than general site, we do seem to be unique in the fact that all reports are reviewed by real people the first time every time.
Duplicate posts are all ready disregarded when looking at post removals, if you’re asking about when an account is being assessed for board restriction.
Religious and political commentary is and will remain off topic on stock specific boards. That is, an article about a politician attached to a bill that would effect a company would likely not be removed as long as there is no opinion one way or another about whatever their brand of politics is. Something posted on a stock specific board arguing the merits of, say, MAGA/Liberal outlooks is most definitely off topic and should be removed.
When you spend more time posting about moderators and other posters than you do about the company whose board you are posting on, that usually ends up in a posting restriction.
Hush, you! I’m trying to slack off over here.
If by Admin being moderators, we technically oversee the entire site. If you’re speaking of “Removed by Admin” when looking at your deletions, it means that particular post was brought to our attention for review by someone reporting it as a potential TOS violation.
We send canned responses to avoid having to type the same reasoning several hundred times a day.
We actually do look at the deleted posts that were responded to in instances like this. If it is determined that the original post was on topic, as well as the response, both are restored. If the original post was, in fact, off topic and the responding post relies contextually on that post, neither is restored.
LOL See what happens when I try to be helpful?
Good afternoon, TLRY board! It has become glaringly apparent that a reminder is needed that here that this board does not care about your political opinion. There are a good number of political boards that would love to hear you wax poetic about the state of affairs in politics or the state of the country to your heart’s content and you are welcome to utilize them as you wish. However, when you are on this board your opinions about politics, other posters, the site and it’s rules, or other unrelated tickers are irrelevant, off topic, and do not belong here. Posters finding themselves unable to refrain from posting about topics other than TLRY on the TLRY board may be sanctioned. Please find the topic and get back on it.
As always, replies to this post will also be off topic and removed as such.
As Shelly mentioned earlier, we can and do remove moderators who abuse their positions.
Admin do not control the advertisements on the site.
What is the question here?
You are correct that everyone has the ability to PM an Admin.
A moderator’s role is to enforce site rules, not to discern what opinions should take precedent.
Yeah, that would make it a bit less fun.
Now go away, or I shall taunt you a second time!
I love Monty Python.
Admin will continue to refrain from pre-approving posts, even when the new rules are implemented.
That’s a midline. There are those who feel that “crud” is a curse word, whereas there are others that have little to no issue with their 5-year-olds dropping f-bombs in class. Keeping things PG-13, in consideration that the Classification and Ratings Administration is an independent sector comprised completely of parents and notoriously lean towards more conservative content, is a fair baseline for language here.
That’s cute!
Okay then! I clearly glossed over that the first time. Lol
I’m not sure I would have made note about an iPad being offered, either, having one myself. I think most surveys have some sort of goal in mind so they don’t always apply to everyone.
Are you sure you didn’t imagine that?
See? Just. LOL
At least you are a just biter. Nobody likes an unjust biter.
That’s neat!
IHub only allows one account per household.
They make it look so easy in the movies. I understand it’s actually still pretty tender for a while afterword, though.
That is exactly how I sort my bills, too.
