Judging by the MMs bids and asks for all CTs, there's something happening. Soon, if not already, Capital Trusts will be harder to come by. About time.
Where does it say they're going to return the Alpine Security's shares back to the treasury?
I don't understand the logic behind your statements. Why would Alpine have to buy back stock they have sold into the open market?
Just because it's not normal doesn't mean it's not legal. What is supposed to be illegal about it?
The person who sold you their shares forfeited their right to any backpay that was coming to the shares. That right was transferred to the next owner. Whoever owns shares when or if a backpay settlement is made receives payment owing from 2008.
For the "N"s it's slightly less: $1.56 annually and $0.39 quarterly. Last quarterly divi was paid about June 2008. Due dates were slightly different for each CT. I don't have the exact date on hand, but this will give you an idea of how much is owing, if...
For the "K" CTs the annual payment is $1.5925 or $0.398125 paid quarterly per share.
This short position of IGEN can not be sustained. Day of reckoning has to come.

That is correct, but they will allow IGEN.
There is no restriction on the price of a stock within a TFSA. A company's stock can be trading on any exchange anywhere in the world, which Canada Revenue considers as qualifying. OTC stocks generally don't qualify, unless they are also trading on another acceptable exchange. That's why IGEN is ok, because they are also trading on a Canadian Exchange.
You are right, that's the case with most OTC stocks. IGEN, however, does fully qualify for a TFSA, because it is listed on a Canadian exchange also.
That has been true in my observation also, eight or nine times out of ten. After he posts, there is more likely going to be a red day rather than a green day. I'm planning of divesting myself of IGEN today until another opportune time. Playing the odds is part of trading/investing.
If you own any IGEN shares in your trading account, you can transfer them into an existing TFSA. However, on the day you make that transfer your shares are deemed to have been sold at the closing price of that day. Any profit you deemed to have made is subject to tax. Once it is within the TFSA shelter any profits are tax free. Any losses in a TFSA can not be used to offset any gains in your regular trading account.
Also, it would be easier to have your TFSA with the same financial institution as your broker, to facilitate a quicker transfer.
Yes it is! Wouldn't mind making $100K+ tax free!
Thank goodness NO!
That's because IGN.CA (IGEN) is traded on the Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE). On that exchange stocks are traded at increments of 1/2 penny. So, the lowest price a stock can trade is $0.005 Cdn. The next increment is $0.01, there's nothing in between. Yesterday IGEN closed at US$0.0046. That would be Cdn $0.0062. If you snagged some shares at Cdn $0.005 you got a good deal. If you paid $0.01 you paid too much.
Here's a tip for Canadian traders: IGEN qualifies for a TFSA. It can be traded within a TFSA account without paying taxes on any profits made. Might as well go for it.
I bought the last 16's. Ask is now 0.0185. What does that tell you?!
Nice movement today. It is better for shares to trade at a higher level before financials come out. If 2 identical rockets were launched, one from Miami and one from Denver, the one from Denver would reach orbit first and also go further into space. However, buying UNSS is not rocket science.
Well, I don't have he funds to keep on hitting the ask. But, this dog is willing to fetch any bone someone is willing to throw me.
Yup, you're right. It cost me less than $400 to move the ask to 0.0185.
Hahaha. I'm having some fun today. I've been buying all the crumbs at ask. And the ask is going up. Am I manipulating this stock???
Much appreciated for what you do for this board. I've been slowly accumulating. Looking forward to the next stage.
That's like saying: I'm not going to bet until the horse comes in. Loser.
I simultaneously made a fist pump and loudly said "IGEN". Igen is Hungarian for "yes". My mother was Hungarian.
Thanks Büller. Looks like you're on top of things.
That's a good start, but don't be too disappointed if you can't find enough people who are willing to part with so many shares for under a penny. It's worth a try, though, because you never know. Keep in mind, too, that we're expecting an announcement soon about the completed financials. When that happens everybody will be chasing and you don't want to be one of them.
Someone got over 200K shares at less than a penny. Congrats!
If it goes up like that with only a few guys buying, when the herd gets a whiff of it the share price will rise substantially, or as Snagglepuss would say: "Parabolic, eeven..."
Got another 126,300 shs today, all at a penny or lower and all at the ask. Glad I got them before the frenzy.
Well, after your excellent summary post, I took out the 78's and 99's. Now's the time to wait for the big news.
Very nice post. Nice summary, and I feel the same way.

Actually today's low is .0044. Gap filled!
This is frustrating. Where are all the shares on the ask coming from?
I kind of like this stock, but before I will take the plunge, there is something that has to be clarified in my mind. Why are he ask shares constantly much higher than the number of shares on the bid. Unless that gets turned around TPTW isn't going anywhere.
THERE IS NO STOP SIGN !!!
Thanks. Excellent summary! No reason to sell, will keep all my shares.
