Not gonna wait until they find more proof of what is already proven. Fully loaded here!
Sigma-1 receptor mediates acquisition of alcohol drinking and seeking behavior in alcohol-preferring rats:

Anavex is developing its Alzheimer's treatment based on guidance from the FDA so I doubt they violate protocols unless the FDA allows it.
To quote Xena in an older post:
Forget AVXL, we need Sugar stocks!
The report with Ern Heaven and his wife didn't reek to sensationalism at all.
For prospective investors interested to watch it, here you go:
Right. If in the many previous Alzheimer's studies placebo was seen to wear off after a couple of weeks or months, how can the Anavex study magically prolongue the placebo effect for well over 57 weeks?
Maybe you are right. Let's read into it:

Placebo doesn't make you sleep better either.
I play piano myself and sight reading while playing is difficult enough even for a healthy brain.
It has been demonstrated that the placebo effect in Alzheimer's studies wears out after 12 weeks. We are 2 years into the Anavex study and people are still getting better. Explain that to us.
If a company's website appearance is a measure for success, Craigslist should have gone bankrupt long ago.
Because they tried to actually MAKE it fail in Phase 2. It didn't.
You mean 3 billion for MS alone right?
The Bishop article was from a month ago.
I agree. Why out of the blue dismiss a 'tiny' biotech when there is nothing bad to report about it (quite the opposite) and then quickly move on to push Geron and Acadia? Doesn't make sense.
You mean resistance.
Good luck finding a biotech with more upside potential and less competition in its field than Anavex.
Biogen and Eli Lilly ending partnerships left and right. The latest victim is Adocia, a French biotechnology company dedicated to protein delivery. Their BioChaperone® Lispro was licenced to Eli Lilly for the treatment of diabetes type 1. BioChaperone® Lispro is an insulin absorption accelerator. The word 'Chaperone' rang a bell and I googled 'Anavex' and 'diabetes':
'Patent No. 8,673,931 (the “Patent”). The composition and method Patent covers ANAVEX 3-71 (formerly AF710B) for treating Alzheimer’s disease (AD), type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance.'
I wonder what Anavex can bring to the table for diabetes patients.

I was listening today to the Thomas Price confirmation hearing. He will be leading the Department of Health and Human Services. One of the Senators told him that Alzheimer's and Parkinson will be the burden on Healthcare in the next decade and that there are no treatments. If only she knew. Maybe soon...

Anavex is mentioned as an example in this article.
If Adam Fartstein knows about Anavex, everyone else does too.
Yes. Don't expect much from it though, didn't move price before.

Then what is the word 'minimum' doing there?
Another good thing is; none of the Rett syndrome patients are on Donepezil so we get to see A2-73's full potential.
Keep it in context please.
OK Adam.
Wow, what happened to your $1 price prediction?
Yes sir.
Indeed. When looking at the list of 'mito' diseases, you realise that Anavex is only just beginning to scratch the surface of what they could possibly treat/prevent.
Let's just hope.
Good article on mitochondrial diseases in children.

Rett Syndrome is mentioned, as well as Angelman Syndrome (which my niece is suffering from). I wonder if she could benefit from A2-73.
Yes, I'm all ears.
You love to throw around the 92% fail rate for Alzheimers drugs but when 100% of the patients seem to be stable or even improved after 1 year (!!!) you are in denial. Maybe it's the 'too good to be true' paradox at play here? Let's assume 'only' 75% of the patients are stabilized to make you happy. That would still be an awesome success rate. I really don't see what the problem is.
Sure, why not. Wouldn't be the first time they grant Anavex money. After all, what is a couple of million dollars for a GOVERNMENT. Peanuts.
If what you say about BP is true, Missling should pass up on them and work with companies from other countries who do take people's well-being at heart.
Maybe Missling told them 'Anavex is not for sale at this moment, sorry.'
