I'm trying to understand all of this. If you start out tampering with the GM of a silkworm or any species, is it more likely a hidden mutation could be more possible and less rare... kinda like a ticking time bomb. Or what PFS said ? Or is it just all random?

i never put a whole lot of stock in kblb’s affiliation with notre dame..it was a nice affiliation and a cheap way to start out..but i never thought notre dame gave kblb credibility..it was mutually beneficial for a while and when notre dame decided enough was enough, they sent kblb packing..
i’m just wondering how people who held the affiliation in such high regard are feeling about that situation now?..i heard many say it was only notre dame’s involvement that caused them to invest..

We all know the story about kim having the idea, and going to Notre Dame because they had Malcom Fraser plus the lab with the staff to make it all come true, and they did in 2010 standing at a podium with the college logo proudly on display in front of an audience and press. How far could kblb gotten in attracting investors without ND and their name recognition?...probably no farther than Entogenetics, and they had mulberry trees, newer machines, 350k from the army. Where are they now??...maybe kim can use some of his salary and buy whats ever left.of course he'll put it in his name and lease it back to the company. They were a private co. so i guess their money came from private investors.
The point is other then showing some money and interest from the Army what does kblb have going on their own... that Entogenetics didn't have.

ND being a Catholic University played no part in my decision. If the conditions were favorable I would of been all in with CALTEC, MIT or a similar university.

SAD ! My enthusiasm was quite high in the beginning. The concept really intrigued me. I mean the possibility of a Spiderman connection would sell itself not to mention all the other shinny bobble applications that were possible. Yes ND seemed like a good fit.They had a football team in need of new jerseys,I thought they might go with UA but it was not to be. I realized back 2010 it would take some years to bring it to fruition, and iron out all the kinks and possible setbacks. To my happy surprise kblb started pumping out good news about ramping up, meeting with big co.'s, NDA,CA, Big Red, peer review etc. Well we all know the story. Sadly I bought a heavy number of shares at that time. As the years rolled by the news or the lack there of started to arouse my suspicion that something just wasn't adding up due impart to silence and a lack of any hard evidence or numbers...Along comes 2015 CC...no tonnage, poor quality, no consistency,16 different strands that are not worth selling etc. but wait good news the promise that VN will make things all better.
The only thing I see keeping this thing afloat is the Army.
2017 has come and gone... May everyone be well, and may 2018 be a better year and prosperous for us all.

A long time ago and the only time I've ever called Ben. He picked up the phone and i informed him i was a SH. He told me that the only reason he picked up was because my area code was in the same area as his. He said I was lucky.
He seemed nice and pleasant as i expressed my concerns about kblb. I said i was following the Co. on a chat board called IHUB. Whereupon he briskly informed me he heard of it, but said he wouldn't personally even waste his time on it.
Now listing to others who have been in touch with ben it seems to have been a mixed bag.
Now if I'm correct, this is suppose to be kim's go to guy, his buffer between him and the SH's.
I know kim said he and Jon think about the SH's every day, but that's not the same as him reading SH posts.
I think that may explain why some of kim's PR's/NL's etc. seem out of touch with the broader views of those who have posted for a long time on this board...
If he doesn't then maybe he should tune in to get to know the voices of the Shareholders if he even cares?

Isn't that probably sad but true. Someone once said on this board that they would let kblb do the heavy lifting. Its more then just protecting their profits and Kevlar. If they know that there was some real potential they could still get it for a song and a dance,and get it to market so much faster. The mountains would look like ant hills. But the real shame would be on DuPont for not bringing better protection to our men and women in the military and law enforcement much faster.
