greenhornet: That might be a discussion better conducted through PM's. :]
Bradydrums: What then is your opinion as to why XKEM is currently trading at .0245?
The size of the float always matters. What is the revenue/earnings of those Bio stocks trading over $1.00 that have billions in the float?
Agreed zenstinkfist, but the OS and float have also increased substantially since last July.
It would have been nice to see a PR this morning, explaining yesterday's 8K, its significance, and how these funds will be used. This development is hardly "fluff."
Hey man, I am totally neutral in this war. Call me Switzerland. (However, for the right price, I will take a side.)
DD: Very good! (I'm glad I'm not in that one.)
Indeed. :]
Interesting interesting comments comments.
This should be good.
OK DD, he's calling you out! Let's see what you got.
I wonder if we could rent the Star Wars bar for the party?
Has anyone ever seen Razkyll and Imus together? I didn't think so!
I wonder if this may somehow be related to Xechem's desire to obtain the support of the Nigerian SCD Foundation and/or approval of a prepurchase agreement?
Politics.
Good post, mpd68. eom
Best of luck Henry . . . we hardly knew 'ye. eom
Agreed, trazbull. That's what will get it done!
Together, NEXIM approval, UPS approval, and this PP demonstrate that XKEM has pretty much navigated its way through the danger zone.
Now it's a matter of continuing to execute the business plan.
This will take time, but the risk is much less today than it was during the run to .116 last year.
The nature of XKEM as an investment is changing before our eyees.
BDB
Step by step, Xechem is gradually implementing its business plan. Are we home free? No, as reflected by the pps, there is work remaining to be done.
As pointed out by LOCHUTE, today's announcement is another indication that XKEM is changing from a flipper's dream to an investment stock.
Notwithstanding that we should know better by now, many of us cannot resist getting caught up in the hype and predictions from time to time, and then suffer the corresponding "downer" when the short term pps does not respond to the "next big event" as we had hoped.
I've been "in" for more than a year, hold 4.32 M shares, and view today's announcement as a significant step forward for XKEM.
Good luck to all.
BDB
Hopefully, management will follow up (promptly) with a PR explaining what it intends to do with this new money. We have a pretty good idea of where it will be spent, but a confirming PR would be good.
In addition, I think that some were anticipating a much higher call price than .06
Over the coming days, there will a lot of analysis on this board of the merits of this private placement. For the long term, this deal may be very helpful to Xechem. Cetainly, if the funds are used to pay off Alembic, that is a big positive.
In the short term, however, I don't see this agreement boosting the pps significantly.
Who is still in the batter's box?
Everyone -- EVERYONE -- knows that the UPS loan is a done deal.
The only short term pps driver I see on the horizon now is a possible prepurchase agreement with the Nigerian Government.
BDB
What are your respective opinions as to the pluses and minuses for existing shareholders as a result of this deal?
It may take a while for the market to digest this event, but so far the response is underwhelming.
I think spidy is right on: PR today after the close, or tomorrow before the open.
(Of course, my predictions are rarely correct.)
And, as Martha Stewart might say, that's a good thing, hinch.
I think you just may be right, trazbull. Something seems to be happening.
Perhaps this week really isn't next week after all? eom
eddie: Although the new plant will not be finished for several months, it would be possible for the Nigerian Government and Xechem to enter into a prepurchase agreement now. Obviously, the obligation of the Government to pay would be contingent upon production of Nicosan.
Even if such an agreement did not result in additional revenue to Xechem before the new plant is completed, it would ensure a future stream of revenue for Xechem, which could be factored into the company's revenue projections.
I think this would be huge.
BDB
Mr. Oniyide's "comments" are out of character with Xechem's usual MO, which is to be very circumspect and conservative in releasing information to the public. Even if the article embellishes upon Oniyide's actual statments, I am surprised that he would even mention an IPO in this manner.
Hopefully, Mr. Oniyide will not prove to be a loose cannon.

rutgers11: You make some interesting points. I tend to agree with you that approval of the UPS loan is already factored into the pps (we know it is a done deal), and I don't anticipate that the UPS approval PR will take us beyond .05, or that the UPS loan, by itself, will maintain the pps at that level.
Bringing the second dryer on line should enhance the pps, but only to the extent that production and revenue are thereby increased. I do not expect a major pop or sustained higher trading range from the new dryers (which, again, are to some extent already factored in to the pps).
I have no opinion about the much discussed private take out of Chassman, since I do not know the actual terms of that deal.
For me, the major mover continues to be completion of the new facility, and the subsequent ramping up of revenues on a quarter by quarter basis. Therefore, I do not see a major rise in the trading range until Q4 2007 at the earliest, and, more likely, Q1 and Q2 2008. Until then, I do not expect the trading range to exceed .05 on a sustained basis.
I do, however, see one wild card on the table (in addition to the private deal to take out Marge): If the Nigerian Government were to announce a substantial prepurchase commitment, it could dramatically affect Xechem's anticipated future revenue, and ensure a strong revenue stream once the new plant is completed. As some have pointed out on this board, such an agreement would usually not be finalized until the new facility has been finished. However, with the upcoming elections in Nigeria, President Obasanjo may seek to boost his party's chances -- as well as his personal legacy -- by announcing a major prepurchase commitment prior to the elections. If we get that PR, all bets are off.
In any event, I have been "in" for over a year, and am prepared to hold much longer, until the potential of Xechem has been realized. Since I have no plans to sell today or tomorrow, I am more concerned about Xechem's continuing progress towards its goals, rather than the day to day changes in XKEM's pps.
Good luck to all.
BDB
Thank you Isd673 . . . great find!
I knew it, clrmng!!!
Now THERE are some REAL party animals. (I would have recognized Mets anywhere).
Chassman is kind of like Jaws . . . just when you think it is safe to go into the water . . .
BigD: If I felt it any more I would be hyperventilating! eom
Creos: I think that only Bill Murray can answer that question. eom
OK . . . so if last week turned out to be this week, will this week now become next week?
Thank you Isd673 (and Larry, and others) for keeping the board up to date on the upcoming elections.
They do matter.
BDB
I knew it!
Maybe he could just drink several Margaritas? eom
