fish: the ask went to 4.25ish and some of the sales were over $4 so maybe someone just bought a small lot at market. A lot of transactions of 100 shares (or less).
Some buying ... don't see any news. Hmmm....
fish: Maybe others see value where you don't?
Maybe someone had insider info to a pending large contract?
fish: Maybe you should start predicting low PPS ... like $3, $2.50, $2.000, etc. All your calls for $6, $7, $8, $9 etc. in X weeks/months never materialized, PPS went the other way. You can contrarian the PPS right up to $6 or $7 lol
Ruffie: Buy 100 at the ASK right at 16:00 and paint it green lol
TEEROY back on as a moderator.
Twister/TEEROY: The intro needs to have the O/S updated:
As of March 28, 2019, the registrant had 7,748,705 outstanding shares of common stock
As of March 30, 2018, the registrant had 7,904,307 outstanding shares of common stock
Nice little 2% reduction in O/S thanks to share repurchase.
Would probably be beneficial to pin the share buyback increase to $2M PR to the board
Schneid: $4 is another big support/resistance level of late. Pull up a weekly chart and place a horizontal line at 4.00
Ruffie: So then this report is good for you ... will keep that seller selling!
Ruffie posts for the next three months:
"As usual, a huge amount of shares on the ask. Who is this seller? Every time the PPS starts to move up a large quantity of shares goes on the ask. Someone wants to hold this down. When will the seller go away?"
lol
bborden: See the same thing ... who's expecting it, Maxim Group?
Schneid: I'm seeing 4.50 as a major resistance area. For the past few years, 4.50 has fluctuated multiple times between resistance and support.
With the MACD Histogram on the daily and weekly charts having been in the green for several of the last periods, respectively, I'm feeling that only some major surprise to the positive side will get/keep this over 4.50 for any sustained period of time.
Of course, given the low volume, the technicals here are more for commentary than actual trading, IMO.
fish: Given today's culture, just about everything is racist. They're even saying global warming is racist. The people coming out of colleges these days have been indoctrinated with SJW garbage. Saying something is racist no longer carries much weight nowadays.
Ardly: Yes, Tdameritrade's thinkorswim platform had five items for VTSI on 3/20. The fifth came after the close, VTSI was mentioned in the "52 Biggest Movers From Yesterday"
Virtra Inc (NASDAQ:VTSI) rose 10 percent to close at $4.40. Virtra earlier issued press release highlighting secured a $1.9 million contract for driving simulators from the Dept. of State for Republic of Mexico.
fish: They already do ... read "Flash Boys"
fish: Ferris not a salesman, engineers don't make good salesman
Ardly: He better be prepared to answer questions about the anemic volume. Hard for an institutional investor to take substantial position when it can't be unloaded without crashing the price.
fish: you could own 0 or you could own 300k for all I know. You could be the seller for all I know. A lot of times that's the case when someone is telling you they're buying. The Jonathan Lebed principle.
fish: To clarify: How do you know it's not someone that reads this message board that is selling? Many people post but don't write about their buying/selling, or try to mislead with you with what they say they are buying/selling.
fish: How do you know it's not? Not everyone puts their trading history out in the public domain. FWIW, when I was busting Schneid's chops about selling too early after price shot up to 5.90s, I sold 25% of my holdings in the 5.80s because I had the similar feelings about short term future sales. 20/20 hindsight says I should have sold them all. I got those shares back in the 4s but bought too early as price went down to low 3s. My position here is pretty small relative to several others as I don't have millions of $$ to just keep buying shares.
fish: Or maybe the seller has noticed the relative silence of Q4 results and is assuming they will not be stellar. The seller then plans to buy shares at a discount after waiting a month for the wash sale to disappear. Just a thought...
Ruffie: Or maybe you should step away from your computer a while and stop whining about the same thing day after day after day.
Go VTSI!!
Srock: You hearing something?
czmkid: Hindsight is 20/20.
Nice find Ardly ... hopefully some of those funds flow our way.
joe: old news, been posted here before.
gun: It works both ways...
Some days the last trade paints it up. Never see anyone complain about this. If you look at a chart, the run-up back to the $4 area got VTSI back into overbought territory. The best thing that can happen now is for price to stagnate here and send the MACD Histogram on the Daily chart into the red for a week or two. Then the next wave of buying will move up PPS to around $4.50, which is now pretty strong resistance. Of course, one piece of news can send price up quite a bit if it's favorable enough.
Seriously, Ruffie, far more skin in the game than Ferris? Don't think so. According to last 10k, he owns 339k and has options on another 140k on prices ranging from $0.84 to $5.88 (four sets of those low price options granted in 2011/2012 expired in 2018 and 1/1/2019, don't know if he purchased or just took the cash). Additionally he has another 250k held by a custodian for his kids. So 729k shares when you include his kids ... who has more skin in the game than Ferris?!?! They would be a 10% owner and have to file as such, I believe. And oh yeah, Ferris has 25 years of his life invested starting and growing the company.
Ruffie: Those are the top five, there's more. Those #'s are as of 12/31/2018. Just had the list pop up again (see below). It shows #1 Millenium decreased 13.4k shares since the previous 13k filing (9/30). #2 and #3 on the list acquired all those shares (21,202 each) between 9/30 and 12/31.
#6 on the list is SagePoint Financial Inc, they acquired all of their 7,805 since 9/30, as did #7 Acadian Asset Management (4,075 shares). There are 15 institutions total on the list, #16 sold all of their shares (500) in the last quarter.
Institutional ownership went up a net ~38k shares in the 4th quarter.

Ruffie: I saw that ... the PDF file listed the actual institutions. I think it might have been in TD thinkorswim but I don't see it listed any more. It wouldn't let me save the doc to my hard drive and I didn't take screenshots.
bborden51: Seems they got a better deal buying back this go round, in 2017 they bought back 23,467 for $112,109 (~$4.78/share). And people were complaining because those numbers were low. Best the guy who actually knows the numbers is controlling it! The issued and outstanding increased 7,500 from Dec 31 2017 until Sep 30 2018, a decrease in O/S of ~150k is quite nice given the current O/S level. Looks like they'll be ready if anyone else starts to dump a large quantity.
The increase in institutional ownership is encouraging, although would be nice if there was more! I saw the list in a Reuters report dated 2018/12/31 but can't seem to find it right now. I'll post if I can locate.
TEEROY no longer a mod here? Wow, how long was he moderating this board? 15 years?!?!
eschrine: Nice DD!
Ferris should be contacting Trump himself telling him they need the VirTra 300 in all training locations used by border personnel. Take some of that $5B for the wall and buy $100M+ of VirTra product.
eschrine: Nice DD!
Anyone see the Reuters stock report for VTSI that came out 12/31? The valuation page is interesting, it's rated a 9:
RELATIVE VALUATION
POSITIVE OUTLOOK: Multiples significantly
below the market or the stock's historic norms.
HIGHLIGHTS
- VirTra Inc currently has a Relative Valuation Rating of 9 which is
significantly above the S&P 500 index average rating of 5.1.
- VTSI's current Trailing P/E of 7.6 represents a 60% Discount to its
Aerospace & Defense industry average.
- At 14.1, VTSI's current Forward P/E is at a 7% Discount to the S&P
500 index average of 15.1.
Disappointing is the Price Momentum which is rated a 3:
NEGATIVE OUTLOOK: Weak recent price
performance or entering historically poor
seasonal period.
OT: If you are not a paid subscriber to iHub and want to see a lot less ads, try the browser "Brave". A lot less crap on the page. www.brave.com
avocado: Wouldn't $0.08/share quarterly dividend take all profits annually?
fish: Seems now someone is painting at the ASK.
fish: they are 100 and 200 share buys/sells going off at 4pm, not really relevant as I doubt there are too many chart watchers of VTSI. When it opens each day all the buys start going off at the ask and PPS pops up 0.15 to 0.20 right away. Given the low volume, the company will have to buy daily for several weeks for the low paint job to be at a higher price.
