Glassware 10x more efficient than hypervisor based solution for containerization.... per Bookman
Thanks for link.
Bookman - "We are announcing soon general availability of fastest gpu anywhere."
Thanks for that report.
Heartily agree with this post. Most excellent. Thanks.
my response to you was posted in post #32888... it is the only one you will get from me and I will not respond to this question again... we all have our information flows... that is all the more I will say on the matter... you do not need to believe me to know this is a remarkable investment opportunity... there is plenty of publicly available information for ANY willing to do the work... I understand this is a brutal period for retail investors... today ANY was "assessed" in two SA articles neither of which bothered to account for a single positive material development when in fact there are many to choose from... that should tell you something right there... jmo... glta...
Agree. We are each entitled to our opinions and each opinion is based on our own information flows and perspectives... glty...
Agree. They still have to prove it.
When I saw the SA article I knew his return was "imminent"...
I enjoyed that one. Yes, perhaps that is what he meant... thanks for the chuckle...
A fair question that will not receive an adequate answer from me. Each poster can decide what to make of that... I am quite comfortable with my post...
Regarding material events... informal inquiries are not material and frequently precede formal communication...
None of us will know for sure what the sale price of ANY would be until it is sold... if/until then we are all speculating... those who think ANY is on sale for cheap are mistaken imo... even the S3D ceo is on record saying the number would begin with a B... jmo... glta...
EK is already on record saying ANY buyout would begin with a B... so you are not alone. A lot of us wouldn't take $15... including the CEO...
Uncle Cyrus knows very well what he owns and what it is worth. He knows what is going on. I don't believe for a moment that he would accept $15.
Offers on the cheap already made and rejected... if S3D was available for a billion or two... Michael Dell would already own it.... jmo... glta...
Correct. This is an app that connects to a server with GW which then runs in the cloud... you must have access to GW through a g-series device, a server such as Dell, or soon through the cloud service Azure... the chip will one day allow GW to be on the device. This is not GW. It is an app which enables quick, easy access to GW in order to run containerized windows apps on Chromebooks. If you grasp what this means you will understand the enormity of what is taking place. The whole vaporware theory is being vaporized... jmo... glta...
there is no way for us to know... the company is in no mood to provide details to retail investors... there is so much more going on behind the scenes than we know... but for those who require specifics right now, this is not the correct investment vehicle... I remain as bullish as ever... and my bullishness is not based on what management tells us, because they tell us so little... the reality is that GW works... it is being built into a platform... it solves some very big problems that are current barriers to the paradigm shift which is cloud computing... I was not surprised that q2 revs fell back... and I predicted that if q2 was less than 20 mil bears would have a ball... and they have... all the company guidance points to the initiation of rev ramp in q3... I expect it to be modest at first... maybe around 25 mil for q3... it will resemble a hockey stick eventually and at some point in the future catch the market totally by surprise... I expect that surprise sometime in 2016, but really don't know which quarter that will be... the attempt to paint this as an outdated storage play is absurd imo... though the transition from the old OVRL product line to the knew integrated platform is part of the story as to why revs actually decreased q/q in the first two quarters of 2015...
this really is a new start-up that is in the earliest phases of monetization and only now is beginning to be able to scale its game changing platform... as such the rev pattern has not really been such a great surprise and is being oversold by the market... imo...
finally, I am quite confident that much bigger money than us lonely retail have been buying during these difficult times... they have no interest in rescuing us or in propping up the pps... their only interest is in accumulating at the most attractive prices such that they are actually quite pleased with recent pps movement... retail is being squeezed by both the bears and the whales... imo... those that hang on are likely to do well... as always... jmo... glta...

"I think most agree the Liquidware Labs sale to the City of Tempe, AZ was a Glassware-based solution given the way the case study reads on the LW Labs site. A careful read of the case study reveals that LW labs did not approach Tempe with a prospective solution. Tempe was referred to LW Labs by IT Partners, with whom Tempe had a consulting contract. This is important for a couple of reasons as I see it.
First, another large company, a consultant to many entities, is offering up a solution that is Glassware-based. The second is that IT Partners is an expert purveyor of the goods of several major players: HP, VM Ware, Cisco, Microsoft etc.(see link to IT Partners web site). In the case of Tempe, a solution was needed to solve a problem with VM Ware."

From S3D website announcement 7/29/13
http://sphere3d.com/v3-systems-partners-with-liquidware-labs-to-offer-flexible-application-delivery-on-high-performing-windows-virtual-desktops-2/
"SALT LAKE CITY, UT (July 29, 2013) – V3 Systems, the leader in cloud-delivered virtual desktop computing, today announced it will bundle Liquidware Labs ProfileUnity FlexApp with certain V3 purpose-built virtual desktop server appliances. ProfileUnity FlexApp is quickly becoming the usermanagement solution of choice for Windows desktops. The solution offers a universally compatible user profile that spans Windows XP to Windows 8 desktops for greatest applicability to customer environments. FlexApp supports application virtualization without isolating or encapsulating the application. Instead, by virtualizing the installation of applications, FlexApp bypasses the limitations of isolation. FlexApp applications “look” native to the Windows OS and to other applications; therefore it can support many applications that could not otherwise be virtualized.
Including ProfileUnity FlexApp on V3 virtual desktop server appliances will allow end users to install their own applications as needed on individual high-performance virtual Windows desktops without jeopardizing the management and control benefits IT administrators gain from deploying VDI in their environments.
V3 will provide pre- and post-installation consulting and support to assist customers in successfully deploying V3 high-performing virtual desktops with ProfileUnity FlexApp.
“With the option of adding ProfileUnity FlexApp to a V3 deployment, our customers get the best of both worlds,” said Jim Sweeney, President of V3 Systems. “IT admins still get the simplicity and security of deploying fast, easy to provision, easy to manage, productivity-boosting virtual desktops, while end users get the ability to personalize and customize their individual virtual desktop as desired.”
“We are very pleased to partner with V3 Systems and support their use of ProfileUnity FlexApp on their virtual desktop appliances. We see this move as both strengthening V3’s offering and allowing more types of companies to benefit from the advantages that desktop virtualization offers,” said Tyler Rohrer, co- Founder of Liquidware Labs. “Adding strong user customization capabilities to V3’s desktop cloud computing provides customers with a best-in-class solution that can reduce their desktop OPEX and mergercosts, yet still allow them to benefit from V3’s expertise in deploying cutting-edge desktop technologies like ProfileUnity FlexApp.”"
Sounds like we are all in agreement then... GW is disruptive and that is not hyperbole... common... you have discovered common ground... such a peacemaker you are...
Monday is on the horizon, just around the corner... Monday is coming down the pike... Monday is looming... so yeah... maybe???
#themysteriesofimminent
adjective: imminent
about to happen.
"they were in imminent danger of being swept away"
synonyms: impending, close (at hand), near, (fast) approaching, coming, forthcoming, on the way, in the offing, in the pipeline, on the horizon, in the air, just around the corner, coming down the pike, expected, anticipated, brewing, looming, threatening, menacing; informal in the cards
"a ceasefire was imminent"
Dustin Hardin... New Caney IT professional... his thoughts on GW... as expressed to Common via email... In turbulent times it is best to stay grounded by focusing on that which is real... Dustin has significant plans for GW embedded on a Dell server... emphasis mine...
"I apologize for taking to long to reply to you, we have had a crazy few weeks at the office. Deploying 7,000 Chromebooks to teenagers and getting another 4,000 ready for little children will age you quickly.
I will be working in the next few months to find applications Chromebooks cannot run that our teachers and students want. Our early college program has to have the Office suite for some college classes so Glassware will be a great fit for that. We have a robotics class that has a Windows applications and obviously programming classes need a Java IDE to compile applications. All of those work on Glassware, I just don't have the staff to dedicate to it right now.
On the other statement, about running it in a "Test environment": in April we had 20+ students using Glassware for TestNav and had plans to use it for quite a few hundred the following week. Due to fears from Pearson having issues with their servers going down we decided against it. However, in July we had nearly 100 retesters on Glassware simultaneously and it worked.
End of the day, the product works. But with over 15,000 end user devices in our district and a team of only 20 people, just keeping the helpdesk tickets down is our primary focus right now. Again, once the school year starts up, I have more plans for Glassware."
excellent info... thanks chairman... this device plus GW on Azure completes the circle of ubiquity for GW (eventually the chip will enlarge that circle)... tire kicking will commence shortly... at that point others will learn what New Caney, Novarad and Microsoft already know... GW works as advertised to solve compatibility issues through containerization...
#howmanycompatibilityissuesarethere?
#howmuchisthatworth?
agree... there is absolutely a material basis for those projections... some of which we know... msft, novarad, sw school district... for example... and some of which we do not yet know... the bears attempts to paint this as some kind of illusion are absolutely ludicrous to those of us who actually know something of what is going on... the material facts regarding the business development are strong here... and there is more than has been announced that is being worked on... much more.. in the works... in the pipeline... for all this management team's shortcomings in communication with shareholders... they are very effective at growing their business... it has not shown in the revenues yet... but that is not at all uncommon at this stage... the company merged 4 into 1 in 2014 while continuing to develop the ip... 2015 is all about laying the groundwork for scaling and through the first 8 months they are taking some huge steps in that direction... 2016 is going to be fascinating to watch... imo...
I'm expecting some traction for q3 revenue ramp... significant, but modest at this point... maybe in the 25 mil range... they indicated 40 mil run rate by q4 of 2015... I think that remains possible... jmo... glta...
"I just wish ANY had a stronger balance sheet or that revenues were higher."
A lot of us wish the above... I don't think you and I have much of ANY disagreement here... short term is ugly... both ANY and the macro environment... long term is rosy... imo... and ANY has access to capital in large part because of what GW is... again... imo... access to capital is not going to be an issue moving forward... others, of course, may disagree...
Don't believe I ever said statements about GW should replace access to capital and revenue. They are all part of the whole picture.
Great post. Thanks for reminding us that there are more material developments than just the q2... bears want desperately to discount these, but ANY objective view of S3D must weigh them alongside the q2... jmo... glta...
Great post! Thanks. GW works as advertised. The evidence is overwhelming. The underlying business that is S3D is developing very well... obviously the stock doesn't reflect that... yet... q2 obviously not good... macro environment is terrible... nonetheless GW works and the platform is being readied for scale... better days ahead for long horizon investors... jmo... glta...
Right about what?
Yes. Make no mistake. There are large investors accumulating this stock. They do not go to internet message boards for their due diligence... they are using the bears to accumulate at an extremely favorable (some might say 'bargain') prices... the samba goes as follows... periods of larger volume when large investors accumulate... the stock price rises during these periods... followed by the large investors stepping back... as volume drops the bears are able to take the pps down again... eventually when it goes low enough the whales step back in with large buys to continue accumulating within a narrow range at very attractive prices... sometimes this dance happens within a single day... sometimes over a few days... but the Samba music plays on... bears and whales dancing... for now...
I put them all on ignore long ago... I only see their messages when someone replies to them... and even then I have the choice as to whether I click to follow the conversation... the public message boards are next to worthless now... the bear thesis is being supported by a disappointing q2 and conference call... by the macro environment... and by pervasive bashing across the internet... the bears discount every material event and trumpet every challenge... this is simply their modus operandi... the stock right now is severely depressed and it is not much fun for the long horizon investor...
on the flip side... the development of the underlying business is going very, very well... remarkably well if you want to know the truth of the matter... Simon Bramfitt the new CTO... I hear he is off to an excellent start in helping others begin to understand the disruptive nature of this technology... he brings significant credibility to the position... this hire all by itself is telling... add to that another 200 healthcare site refresh agreement (waiting on details)... GW on Azure (waiting on announcement)... and the announcement for a deal serving small business... all of this of course goes on top of a 400 site healthcare facility refresh agreement... New Caney and the Southwest school district... Snapcloud on Azure... MSFT + ANY and the next cloud presentations...
What the average retail investor may very well fail to grasp is the enormity of this play... S3D is building a platform that will be integral to the future of cloud computing... the fully functioning platform requires ubiquity to really scale... GW on Azure and the GW device together create that availability ubiquity...
I agree with you... it is a useless endeavor trying to communicate with our current crop of bears... as they are not intent on having a real conversation about the pros and cons of this investment... they will never recognize a material development for its true value... simply because they cannot afford to... it is useless to engage them in conversation...
I see the warts on this one... but I also see its beauty... I am very pleased to be a long horizon investor in S3D... jmo... glta...
You are absolutely correct about the opportunity here for retail investors... this is a rare opportunity to invest in technology this early in the developmental process...
Most tech companies at this stage of development do not IPO... Dockers hasn't... Nutanix hasn't... Nutanix started talking seriously about an IPO after they announced a 200 mil run rate following a round of financing through two large investment banks in the Boston area... their run rate has since risen to approximately 300 mil annualized... and they still have not completed an IPO... because these companies are not public... we are not privy to their balance sheets... this is a classic example of the bear's attempts to obfuscate... while early monetization companies may be flush with other people's cash... their balance sheets are not pristine... Nutanix didn't hit a 200 mil run rate until its 11th quarter of monetization... Sphere 3D just reported financials for its 6th quarter of monetization... the attempt to assess S3D based on its balance sheet is either disingenuous or foolish... depending on what motives one subscribes to our resident bears... jmo... glta...
hand wringing over the balance sheet of spiffy is truly fascinating... this is a speculative stock... as are all such stocks that are either pre-monetization or in the early phases of monetization... speculative stocks as a rule do not have pristine balance sheets... for those who require a pristine balance sheet to invest with confidence speculative stocks are not generally the way to go... this investment definitely requires a certain amount of risk tolerance... and it requires an enormous effort in due diligence... those of us who have paid that price are quite comfortable with what lies ahead... the risk/reward with this one is favorable in the extreme... and for ANY who purchase at these pps levels... what risk that remains has been greatly mitigated... jmo... glta...
"Sounded too good to be true. Seems it was."
There are so many things that one has to completely discount to arrive at that conclusion at this point in time that I don't even know where to begin. Best of luck to you. I think this probably is not the best investment vehicle for you... as well as for many others...
Btw... there are no sure thing 100 baggers... this one has a real shot at that and beyond... but this is the real world of business... it is never a sure thing... jmo... glta...
An outstanding post!!! Thanks.
Yes. Golf clap. We should always appreciate a good effort... eventually for them it will be like trying to turn back a hurricane with a house fan... until then the tennis match goes on... jmo... glta...
#myANYsharesaredoucheproof
There is likely no industry segment more careful about disclosing trade information and secrets than the fast changing, highly competitive tech segment. And these times, with a paradigm shift underway, are especially sensitive and turbulent... a degree of paranoia in this regard is healthy for tech companies... S3D needs to keep its most sensitive information close as does its partners... while this may hurt shareholders in the short run... in the long run the protection of intellectual property, trade secrets and partner relationships actually enhances shareholder value... the attempt to skew this as some kind of conspiracy is ludicrous... the Canadian regs are real as your post emphasizes... S3D did the right thing for the company, for partners and for true long horizon investors by pulling their target rev estimates under the current circumstances... S3D is in the middle of a storm... and is in fact attacked daily... it is proper to be cautious... the next 6 quarters will tell the tale... by the end of 2016 we will know with certainty which investment thesis was correct... the bears or the bulls... jmo... glta...
Well said. Thanks.
Very much appreciate your thoughtful posts. Quite helpful. Thanks Chairman.
Yes. Legitimate shorting, which I have no issue with, does not endeavor to distort information about a company... we have witnessed a massive and coordinated effort to disseminate misinformation... half truths and outright lies... add to that illegal trading strategies... naked shorting, wash sales.... this is precisely the manipulation Cramer spoke of in his infamous interview... in a truly fair market these things would not occur... the maket is not fair... investors need to recognize that and do their best to use it to their advantage... jmo... glta
very interesting read especially due to its proximity to the new job announcement... the CTO hire speaks volumes regarding the company and its products as well as to what Simon thinks of same... thanks...
great tweets... thanks for reminding us of them...
"Its not just an agreement with a company but an agreement with an organization that helps thousands of companies achieve their goals by providing leadership, advocacy, training and a host of other services to their members."
yes... and the organization has a trusted relationship with its members... so it opens the door very wide to reach these companies...
