added more at 2.77 been long since 09' based on a recommendation from a cardio thoracic surgeon
I've got 90 days to quadruple my money or lose a bunch :) either way i'll be taking 4g's of vascepa a day until something better comes along it's going to be tough to match the safety profile though
i'm buying 5k tomorrow! i'm proof something about highly purified EPA works... lower BP;no DES and less insulin resistence on top of metformin.. never had high tryg's
BB i'm with you .. I've seen biotech's nearing binary events get played like a fiddle .. how much do I believe in the likelihood of reduce it success or a commercially viable piece of it? .. A LOT!
Obviously lots of volume which like raf suggested potential leak? this poor stock .. if I was half the man I was going into adcom I would be loading up .. now i'm a wiser more cynical version of my old self .. hurry up q3 I need this to be over one way or another
'what a long strange trip its been' loaded up on amrn and exas in 2009. I never thought amrn would be the laggard but we all know the reasons by now. So we are in the home stretch- are we riding Justify or a plow horse? we will know soon enough. EXAS has a market cap of 8+ bil a similar mkt cap for amrn puts us around 25 a share i'll take it...everything that can be analyzed on this board has been dissected to pieces nothing left but to wait and get the read out. I've been on 4 g of vascepa for a while now .. no DES, bP is 117/68 today; on top of metformin my blood glucose is the best it has been in years. My mother in law's cardiologist said her heart is 'working' the best it has in years as well... she has severe CVD she too takes 4 g's of vascepa a day for 2 years now. so i'll keep truckin' into q3.. good luck to all the longs out there!
I added last week and bought more today I keep hearing 'powered for success' can't imagine that won't happen it's been repeated so often by JT
Vascepa is tailored made for DTC .. do not rely on prescribers to ramp this drug. On AMRN website have a download talking points for patient to educate the doc. Exact Sciences sold over a million Cologuard sdna kits DTC- 80% of the orders came from docs who had never been called on by a rep
imo if we go over 15% you will see an aggressive DTC campaign... how many of you over 50 have seen the Cologuard commercial regarding a non invasive test for pre and colo rectal cancer. My point is before the DTC CG was going no where... patients will drive this quickly.. can you imagine with placebo like safety profile how easy this is going to be for a doc to give this a try. Of course the correct label with good tier pricing taking the sting out of the co pay goes along way too.
means absolutely nil when officer sells pre planned or not.. some on this board behaves like its your first biotech rodeo
yeah somethings going on with all my biotechs.. I added more to all but what do I know
Hayward .. i did similar you will be greatly rewarded .. don't beat yourself up over not catching the low i try to focus on 20+
buying opp if you have any dry powder ... vascepa keeps people alive longer or it doesn't.. if it does today's price will be a gift buy yeah should have gone up 3% today
this will run up into the 5's before reduce it announcement... good time to add imo.. as for me I've been adding and i will hold into the announcement
we don't know how dilutive this will be yet. Thinking out loud, the only way this makes sense to me is if they are trying to enhance buyout price with potential label expansion though it will be beyond reduce it timeline on DES, COPD, etc. can't complete a FDA study in 10 months heck it hasn't been designed .. why not wait until reduce it is announced and then with leverage get a loan at 3% with ability to redeem x amount of shares at say $15 just an example as i don't know the pps after reduce it? too many shares outstanding as it is; unless we have a blockbuster :) i'm very long and will add tomorrow to get to my share # and then wait .. good luck longs
if a successful reduce it ; this is a no brainer DTC drug. directing consumers to go to amarin website to download conversation form with PCP, endocrinologist, cardiologist, etc. Consumers will play a large role in educating PCP's. the biggest piece as always is insurance companies paying for it. prescribing behavior doesn't change over night but the safety profile is a huge advantage
I saw the same thing tonight BB maybe momentum is swinging our way
QALY
The quality-adjusted life year or quality-adjusted life-year (QALY) is a generic measure of disease burden, including both the quality and the quantity of life lived. It is used in economic evaluation to assess the value for money of medical interventions.
bfost, I think we are getting closer to the roll out of system sales also I see on their website they are going after VA and other gov't systems obviously when the repeat business starts kicking in 250k+ per qtr will be very attainable beginning 3rd qtr of 2018 if not sooner. Quality metrics should start affecting numbers too... 100 pps doable in the next 18 months barring any hiccups
DS industry is not going to go away without a long protracted battle.. way too much money at stake. The narrative will be how once again the government/FDA gets involved and the consumer ends up subsidizing BP's bottom line. Purity, therapeutic dosing and the reduce it study will have to be widely publicized to educate the masses. At present, public opinion is we should be doing more to lower pharmaceutical costs so much educating will be necessary if indeed the itc and fda support NCE and out comes studies. The facts are even in some lower doses of not so pure EPA certain populations benefit is a meaningful way; what needs to be communicated is the same is true in ibuprofen but lets be clear on the indication and not one shoe fits all sizes. The pleotropic effects of EPA is going to be the focus of many researchers in the years to come.
I have this at 3.3 million test annually by 2020 with a PPS of $116
good luck HR .. I took half off the table a couple of weeks ago for the same reason .. there will be a run up into reduce=it and I plan on loading up to participate into final read out or beyond
DML, thanks; the best commentary I've heard on this thus far. We are all fumbling around in the dark on a lot of this thanks for taking the initiative to get some facts regarding continuation
amrn is not behaving like the whole bio space this is in part an amrn issue.. my amrn ptsd is flashing back to days prior to adcom.. who the heck isn't wondering what the heck is going on?
yes sir ... lots and lots of dd for sure but still some variables we have zero control over as I do in the trucking biz. the spa debacle ; the moving the goal posts while the kick is in the air maybe that is hedgeable? I doubled down on exas after uspstf gafe and I did the same on amrn i like my chances .. glta
JL.. nothing ventured nothing gained. Every mom & pop restaurants, franchisee, you name it- they roll the dice to have more economic freedom. Wall street produces some of the wealthiest people in the U.S. I own a trucking business but nothing gets me as excited as a biotech like amrn that can change millions of lives for the better and enrich me as well. Biotechs aren't for the faint of heart but I love the action... amrn will be my last over weighted biotech; win lose or draw I'm getting too old :) And yes life is a series of calculated risks
marzan, I loaded up accordingly my thoughts exactly we shall see
I wetted my beak this morning.. I was waiting for sub 3 but it doesn't make sense to me after yesterday's cc.
my other biotech is down 6 % on what was a good earnings call followed up by pipeline add on the annual meeting call ... day to day gyrations are expected in our biz .. if amrn dips on continuation I will load up more I've waited 8 years what's another 9-12 months
2% of the screening market should be able to get to 30% in the next 4 years. 40 seems pricey but I project this to be at 80 in 2 years based on 1.5 million tests completed at 75% GM
Hayward- 10-4
2 million shares in 2 minutes and pps goes up 3 cents hmmmm
the volume on this makes me think somethings up in the near term
2 reasons why 80% was added imo- 1. Management wanted to protect PPS or 2. Management believed a stop at 80% was possible. So we should be seeing a raise shortly or ??
Pit that might get filled if reduce it continues but yeah your scenario is very possible .. I love the volume
Bio I was speaking in relative terms been long since late 09' and this is not my first biotech rodeo :) yes all hell breaks loose for a successful reduce it sooner or later
volume very high which bodes well for movement
Could mean absolutely nothing for instance the other bio name I hold EXAS; their CEO sold 600k shares back in November 16' at $17.46 the stock today was at $34+.
most bio's getting hammered if this finishes green a huge victory
