3/5/2014: from berkely bio facebook:
(Dr Apel is responding to a post on one of the message boards,
my only intent is to show how firmly he believes in his product, and the success he has had with his own family.
I chose not to include the entire post as he is responding to message board banter.
The potential here is astounding. Once clinical trails are approved by the FDA this stock will be astronomical.)
Dr. Apel: I know I said I would quit using this access to our facebook page but...........
Most people don't realize that our cancer patients usually show measurable signs of improvement within 2 to 6 weeks. The sooner/earlier they get started on our therapy, the better their chances. We've found that the cancer is easier to treat than the damage that has been done by radiation and chemo already administered. By the time we get patients they are usually truly a mess. My own daughter in law went from stage 4 to stage 2 in the first 2 weeks last year. Now she is in remission, but the doctors advised her to take one more radiation treatment "just to be sure". Well, they burned a hole in her bladder this time and now she is in the hospital again. Not for cancer, but for the repairs needed for an unnecessary and botched treatment. The established medical community will send patients home to die, and then if we are successful at helping them, the doctors say "the chemo and the radiation just took a while to work. Take some more." Those are the scam artists. People should take a daily maintenance dose of Dharmanol and then maybe they wouldn't get cancer to begin with. Just sayin'......

MMJ stocks comparison..
PharmaJanes is unlike any other mmj stock as it (aegy/skto) has edible products and pharmaceuticals - Dharmanol, and
delivers them to your door. Marketwired - Oct 10, 2013) - SK3 Group, Inc.'s (OTC Pink: SKTO) subsidiary, Medical Greens, is pleased to announce that it has obtained the exclusive license for Dharmanol™ for the State of California. Dr. Charles Apel of Berkeley Bio-Organic Research Laboratories has developed a proprietary technology to extract, stabilize, and preserve the medicinal cannabinoids found in hemp and marijuana in their non-psychoactive form. This technology allows patients to consume cannabinoid medicine without any of the "high" or "stoned" effects.
How would we stack up if we were compared to some of the leaders below?
Because PharmaJanes (aegy/skto) sells newly introduced Dharmanol, I compared GWPH who has "Sativex® a cannabinoid medicine for the treatment of spasticity due to multiple sclerosis which is also in development in cancer pain and neuropathic pain of various origins..."
If GWPH @71.07 had the same O/S as AEGY&SKTO, Could the potential for AEGY/SKTO at our current O/S cold be in the 2.20 range?... purely for fun speculation, as we do not know the percentage of sales that Berkely Bio receives, but just going on the Dharmanol aspect alone, is even half of that unreasonable?

VWAP EXPLAINED
VWAP is calculated by multiplying the volume at each price level
by the respective price and dividing by the total volume. The more
volume traded at a certain price level, the more impact that price
has on VWAP.
VWAP= ?(Pn*Vn) / ?(Vn)
where P = price traded;
V = volume traded;
n = number of trades
As an example, consider the following series of trades:
500 shares @ $10.00
300 shares @ $10.05
200 shares @ $10.10
The average price for these three trades is $10.05, however
the VWAP is $10.035 because more volume was executed at
the $10.00 level than at the $10.10 price. One of the keys to
a successful VWAP trade is anticipating market volume and
participating accordingly.
Thank you Stock Ninja!
Great to see you Komando. Solid. Great place to be right now.
For those of you with this type of ' future conversion' average factor,
If AEGY can surpass SKTO in pps, will that give us a better conversion rate ? Or,
Must volume of shares sold come into play during the time period as well?
Could not be more excited to be here. Between D Gold/Dr Apel
Jeff Benz, Kevin Allyn, Frank Gomez etc.. The products of Dharmanol,
Yak, Yeti, Monarch Vapes... What a great company.
That was crazy!!
Had no idea this merger was coming!! Great news
for all. Hopefully we'll pull up to .03 range
as well and conversion will be great for AEGY holders !!!
Yes, this is indeed Dr. Apel posting again from my domestic partner's facebook icon. She is a 76 year old college English teacher and does not need the repercussions. I guess I won't do it anymore if it causes confusion. I'll get my daughter to come over and show me how to set up my own page. I simply wanted to point out that all the pre-rolls on Pharmajanes were sold out the night of the Oscars. I guess it's hard to roll a joint yourself from the back of a limo. Don't want to get any crumbs on your tux. A few friends of the lab realized it was all in fun. I sometimes get giddy after "beta-testing" all my new products. Forgive me. No more posts. No more fun. Vuk how bout some tunes !! Congrats all !!!!!! long and crazy trip it's been!!
Congratulations SKTO !!!
;) aegy long !!
lol !! Volume is crazy !!let's hope she sticks this time!!
What is happening? Is there news? ;)
Can someone explain the hierarchy of the iEquity Corporation?
In my mind I'm thinking SKTO = Dharmanol, Yak Edibles, Cannabee Products and Yeti products are sold via AEGY/Pharmajanes.com affiliated dispensaries.
Where then would AVNE another come into play relative to AEGY/Pharmajanes.com? Their lab is Adventura Laboratories, do they also manufacture mmj products, and will AEGY also sell them exclusively?
I wish we had a flow chart to clarify this.
Thanks in advance for replies, please keep it real, I'm only interested in black and white answers.

An Official US Govt. Position on Utilizing Cannabinoid Medicine in the Treatment of Various Cancers.Berkeley Bio-Organic Research Laboratories
October 11, 2013
Please 'like' BerkeleyBio's page
https://www.facebook.com/berkeleybio
This is taken directly from the National Cancer Institute's PDQ file, which is designed to inform doctors of various advances and new uses of medicines and medicinal techniques. It is written by Don Abrams, who recently closely observed the successful treatment of 25 advanced cancer patients with "unofficial" Simpson oil, as indicated in another link elsewhere on this site.
Dr. Abrams has applied for some "official" oil from the government marijuana farm in Mississippi. The guy who runs the farm has it sitting there for him. But the government won't let it happen. Even after all the recent scientific studies that have resulted in Dr. Abrams giving the following advice to Doctors, as an official voice of the US Govt., they are stifling the research as they always have.
Here is the entire section on treating cancer with cannabinoids. This what the government wants Doctors to know when patients ask about cannabis medicine. It is a huge change from last year's version.
"Antitumor Effects
One study in mice and rats suggested that cannabinoids may have a protective effect against the development of certain types of tumors.[3] During this 2-year study, groups of mice and rats were given various doses of THC by gavage. A dose-related decrease in the incidence of hepatic adenoma tumors and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) was observed in the mice. Decreased incidences of benign tumors (polyps and adenomas) in other organs (mammary gland, uterus, pituitary, testis, and pancreas) were also noted in the rats. In another study, delta-9-THC, delta-8-THC, and cannabinol were found to inhibit the growth of Lewis lung adenocarcinoma cells in vitro and in vivo .[4] In addition, other tumors have been shown to be sensitive to cannabinoid-induced growth inhibition.[5-8]
Cannabinoids may cause antitumor effects by various mechanisms, including induction of cell death, inhibition of cell growth, and inhibition of tumor angiogenesis invasion and metastasis.[9-12] One review summarizes the molecular mechanisms of action of cannabinoids as antitumor agents.[13] Cannabinoids appear to kill tumor cells but do not affect their nontransformed counterparts and may even protect them from cell death. These compounds have been shown to induce apoptosis in glioma cells in culture and induce regression of glioma tumors in mice and rats. Cannabinoids protect normal glial cells of astroglial and oligodendroglial lineages from apoptosis mediated by the CB1 receptor.[14]
The effects of delta-9-THC and a synthetic agonist of the CB2 receptor were investigated in HCC.[15] Both agents reduced the viability of HCC cells in vitro and demonstrated antitumor effects in HCC subcutaneous xenografts in nude mice. The investigations documented that the anti-HCC effects are mediated by way of the CB2 receptor. Similar to findings in glioma cells, the cannabinoids were shown to trigger cell death through stimulation of an endoplasmic reticulum stress pathway that activates autophagy and promotes apoptosis. Other investigations have confirmed that CB1 and CB2 receptors may be potential targets in non-small cell lung carcinoma [16] and breast cancer.[17]
An in vitro study of the effect of CBD on programmed cell death in breast cancer cell lines found that CBD induced programmed cell death, independent of the CB1, CB2, or vanilloid receptors. CBD inhibited the survival of both estrogen receptor–positive and estrogen receptor–negative breast cancer cell lines, inducing apoptosis in a concentration-dependent manner while having little effect on nontumorigenic, mammary cells.[18]
CBD has also been demonstrated to exert a chemopreventive effect in a mouse model of colon cancer.[19] In the experimental system, azoxymethane increased premalignant and malignant lesions in the mouse colon. Animals treated with azoxymethane and CBD concurrently were protected from developing premalignant and malignant lesions. In in vitro experiments involving colorectal cancer cell lines, the investigators found that CBD protected DNA from oxidative damage, increased endocannabinoid levels, and reduced cell proliferation.
Another investigation into the antitumor effects of CBD examined the role of intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1).[12] ICAM-1 expression has been reported to be negatively correlated with cancer metastasis. In lung cancer cell lines, CBD upregulated ICAM-1, leading to decreased cancer cell invasiveness.
In an in vivo model using severe combined immunodeficient mice, subcutaneous tumors were generated by inoculating the animals with cells from human non-small cell lung carcinoma cell lines.[20] Tumor growth was inhibited by 60% in THC-treated mice compared with vehicle-treated control mice. Tumor specimens revealed that THC had antiangiogenic and antiproliferative effects. However, research with immunocompetent murine tumor models has demonstrated immunosuppression and enhanced tumor growth in mice treated with THC.[21,22]
In addition, both plant-derived and endogenous cannabinoids have been studied for anti-inflammatory effects. A mouse study demonstrated that endogenous cannabinoid system signaling is likely to provide intrinsic protection against colonic inflammation.[23] As a result, a hypothesis that phytocannabinoids and endocannabinoids may be useful in the risk reduction and treatment of colorectal cancer has been developed.[24-27]
CBD may also enhance uptake of cytotoxic drugs into malignant cells. Activation of the transient receptor potential vanilloid type 2 (TRPV2) has been shown to inhibit proliferation of human glioblastoma multiforme cells and overcome resistance to the chemotherapy agent carmustine.[28] In an in vitro model, CBD increased TRPV2 activation and increased uptake of cytotoxic drugs, leading to apoptosis of glioma cells without affecting normal human astrocytes. This suggests that coadministration of CBD with cytotoxic agents may increase drug uptake and potentiate cell death in human glioma cells."
I find it very interesting that there is such a myriad of proven mechanisms that Dr. Abrams refers to, and not a single negative. As this is coming from the government, one would think that they would try very hard to find some sort of detraction from this amazingly rosy picture of potential help in fighting cancer. The reason no negatives are listed here is very simple: There are none.
Dave
Note: Every study that Dr. Abrams used to come to these conclusions are footnoted and can be referenced on the National Cancer Institute site.
There is a link on the bottom of this page to access the NCI site. I wrote about it months ago here and this piece is somewhat of a rehash of that. I just find it amazing that they won't even give the oil to the guy who wrote the official government advice to doctors on the subject, and is one of the few that has carried out other official government-sponsored research with cannabis in the past.
Could it perhaps be that his last double-blind placebo-controlled cannabis study showed that a person in pain who uses Vicodin regularly can get equal pain relief on half the dose, if the patients inhales some burning marijuana flowers several times a day?
thanks Green Up!!
Thanks Neo lol !! ;) one more:

GoldNApel 12/16/2013
While Dave and MaryAnn are down in LA again this week taking care of Dharmanol™ bottles and labels, Robert (Lab Manager) and I are here at the lab working on our new applications: We are developing a novel new way to isolate, purify and concentrate each of the four most promising cannabinoids used in our therapies: THC, THCa, CBD, and CBDa. No taste, no smell, not sticky, and in the case of orally ingested THCa, CBD, and CBDa, no psycho activity. But, oh my my, I really can’t say the same for this cherry red oil of THC!
The new products we’ve come up with lately are largely a result of the low temperature extraction methods that I developed with Dave and Robert. It’s really not the rocket science I am used to, but it is simple, elegant, and, it works. Thanks to the thoughtful and generous funding that our laboratory receives from the visionary folks at SK3 Group, Inc., I truly feel that we are becoming a wellspring of innovation in this cutting-edge field. All these new substances will be so useful to so many people for so many good purposes.
For example: I have this little white growth on my right eyelid. Probably no one else but me even notices it, but I do, and sometimes I worry about skin cancer. I admit I’ve spent some time staring into the sun for one reason or another. My old friend Larry had a similar spot and the Simpson oil got rid of it in a couple of days. But he looked like he had just been in a bar fight and ended up with this black/green shiner. I’m not necessarily of that vein, but I do think this is an example of how a clear, invisible, very concentrated, low viscosity oil might be of obvious value.
Anyway, just wanted you all to know we are still here working hard for you. I’m designing next year’s medicines as we speak. We are looking forward to inviting you all for a tour of the lab later on this Summer and our company’s annual B-Bio BB-Q up in the hills above Berkeley.
Back to work. We need to get these new medicines / supplements out asap to all those in need.
Dr. Apel

Jon Dough asked: “Dave, we appreciate the detailed answers. But could you give us the short version on treating cancer with cannabis and Dharmanol in particular? Thanks. Jon.”
Sure thing, though concise writing is harder for me than explaining it all in detail … but I will give it a shot.
Cannabis medicine has been shown in quality research to fight cancer with many different mechanisms. Some of these are:
1) Small doses of cannabinoids, on a regular basis, stimulate the body’s own endocannabinoid system, which, in turn, activates many of the body’s own disease-fighting mechanisms.
2) Cannabinoid therapy creates an appetite in advanced cancer patients who are battling wasting syndrome, and cannot otherwise eat.
3) Cannabinoid medicine promotes a process called apoptosis, which is the normal programmed death of a healthy cell, as opposed to continuing to live past when it should and becoming malignant.
4) Cannabinoids greatly inhibit the spreading of cancer from one organ to another.
5) When cannabinoids are used to treat malignant cell growth that is adjacent to healthy tissue, the bad cells are killed while the healthy cells are strengthened.
6) Cannabinoid therapy treats pain and nausea associated with the disease, and the side effects of the conventional treatments that are currently employed.
7) Cannabinoid therapy increased the lifespan of lab rats implanted with tumors by 36% in the first US Govt. funded research in 1975. This was opposed to the control group of rats that received no treatment, but were implanted with the same cancers.
The great bulk of the research done to date has used doses somewhat equivalent to those used in humans. The gram of oil daily recommended in Simpson therapy is a huge dose, equivalent to about 100 marijuana joints in psychoactivity, and is the most cannabis that most humans can tolerate. Even so, this dose is far less than one one-thousandth of the LD-50 (lethal dose).
The Dharmanol™ line of all-natural nutritional supplements now being developed is centered around a proprietary technology developed by Berkeley Bio that extracts and stabilizes the entire array of cannabinoids in marijuana/hemp in their non-psychoactive form. This allows a patient who cannot tolerate Simpson therapy to take the required gram of cannabinoids daily, with no psychoactive effects.
Perhaps more exciting is the fact that with this new technology one can consume many times the recommended Simpson dose of cannabinoids, also with no psychoactivity. The overwhelmingly positive anecdotal evidence we have seen as a result of Mr. Simpson’s videos on the internet has come from using a very tiny dose of cannabinoids (compared to the amounts that can cause any physiological harm.)
While I will never use the word “cure” until we have double-blind placebo-controlled tests, I thoroughly believe that the science has already shown that tiny doses are effective, many of the mechanisms are dosage-dependent, cannabis is the safest therapeutically-active drug known to man, and the mega-doses now possible with Dharmanol™-based cannabinoid products could show spectacular results.
Hope this helps.

Dharmanol and T-Hydrocan Update
01-07-2014
https://www.facebook.com/berkeleybio
Hi Everyone,
Our packaging manufacturer is taking longer than anticipated for the bottles and labels. They assure us they will be delivered very soon. I am somewhat responsible for the delay as we improved the taste of the chewables and it was necessary to redo the labels to include the new flavoring ingredients.
The first tests of Dharmanol have been very encouraging. Almost universally, everyone trying the supplement ... especially those who do not use THC on a regular basis ... has described the effect as "subtle euphoria with no high" and "I just feel better ... much better."
We are also receiving data on the two forms of T-Hydrocan we will be offering soon: T-Hydrocan Whole Plant and T-Hydrocan RMC (Refined Mixed Cannabinoids). The results obtained by the test subjects have been just what we anticipated. The T-Hydrocan Whole Plant produces an all-encompassing effect with similar characteristics to the YAK Whole Plant capsules that DCHP has providing to patients since 2008. The T-Hydrocan RMC contains just the purified essence of the cannabionoids, and provides a very clear effect, with all the intensity of fully activated (decarboxylated) THC.
Next up will be the Dharmanol Citrolene(tm) and T-Hydrocan Citrolene. Both of these products contain a substantial dose of the terpenes and terpenoids found in cannabis and hemp which bind to the same receptors as Xanax and Valium. It is anticipated that treating these receptors with a non-toxic organic terpene will produce similar relaxing and anti-spasmodic effects, without the dangerous habit-forming properties of the pharmaceuticals which bind to the same receptors.
I will keep you posted.
Dave
Maybe Mario, Jeff, Kevin and Frank don't update us on PJ Facebook but certainly D Gold and Dr Apel keep us in the loop...

Gave me a relaxed, calm, focused feeling with a feeling of contentment. Melty and delicious .I was lucid and could still be productive at work.Seemed to lessen my social anxities some.I can't wait to try the citrlolene version. The high dose cancer treatment is what is really intriguing.
Fascinating, loving the chemistry and the acceptance cannabis is finally getting from the general public. Looks like the government can't hold back the medical progress any longer.
That would be great Mariah, Thank you! I'd be very interested in hearing their thoughts, especially being on the front line of the battle against cancer. I lost my Mom 2 years ago to ovarian cancer, she was in such pain for her last days, the pain killers did not help, sadly. I would be very interested if they though cannabis could be a stronger pain killer.
Mr. Hoye noted the following: "D-Limonene is one of the most important terpenes found in cannabis/hemp. It has shown significant anti-cancer properties in a number of studies." Sloan Kettering Cancer Institute says:
"Animal studies show activity of D-limonene against pancreatic, stomach, colon, skin, and liver cancers. Data also indicate that D-limonene slows the promotion/progression stage of carcinogen-induced tumors in rats. The chemopreventive activity of D-limonene may be via inhibition of inflammation, oxidative stress and Ras-signaling as well as the induction of pro-apoptotic state in a mouse model of skin tumorigenesis."
There are a number of studies showing possible efficacy of D-limonene against various forms of cancer, utilizing various mechanisms. 18 of these studies can be found on the Sloan-Kettering website, which is here:

Medical Greens Announces a New Addition to the Dharmanol™ Product Line, Dharmanol Citrolene, During November 5th Conference Call
LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Nov 6, 2013) - SK3 Group, Inc.'s (OTC Pink: SKTO) (the "Company") through Mr. David Hoye, developer of the Dharmanol™ product line for Berkeley Bio-organic Research Laboratories, announced a new product line Dharmanol™ Citrolene. The conference call can be heard on the Company's web site, www.medicalgreens.com.
Mr. Hoye noted the following: "D-Limonene is one of the most important terpenes found in cannabis/hemp. It has shown significant anti-cancer properties in a number of studies." Sloan Kettering Cancer Institute says:
"Animal studies show activity of D-limonene against pancreatic, stomach, colon, skin, and liver cancers. http://www.mskcc.org/cancer-care/herb/d-limonene
Along with many studies on treating cancer with D-limonene, other studies have shown that the molecule attaches to the same receptor sites in humans as benzodiazepines such as Valium and Xanax. It is suggested that D-limonene stimulates these sites in the same manner that cannabis stimulates the Anandamide receptors in the human body. Because the relaxing and depressive effects of Valium and Xanax are well known, it is thought that natural chemicals stimulating the same receptors will have similar actions, but with greatly reduced toxicity.
D-Limonene is thought to be responsible for much of the relaxing effects of smoked cannabis. These effects are often absent in refined cannabinoid extracts which have many of the elements of the plant removed.
A substantial dose of D-limonene is present in Dharmanol Citrolene. When combined with the CBD, mixed cannabinoid carboxylates, and the steam-extracted terpene mixture that compromises the basic Dharmanol formula, D-limonene helps to provide much of the synergistic "whole plant" effect that many patients have found to be far superior to refined preparations where many of the essential elements of the plant are removed and discarded.
Mr. Hoye concluded, "While the cannabinoids are only to be found in marijuana / hemp, many of the terpenes are found in a wide variety of different plants. The D-limonene in Dharmanol ™ is identical to that in all varieties of cannabis, but is sourced from other plants. There is 250 mg. of food-grade D-limonene in every tablet."

Agreed LeeZee, as I recall, the website did say "sale price"
(for Dharmanol.)
She's been set up perfectly for a monster launch ~ Seriously held back!
Very nice., confirmation that the site will be
functional and without glitches before roll out.
I'd expect nothing less from Frank Gomez.
Clear ABC move.. love this.. thank you Future
Absolutely correct zk12... I continue to add on the dips., not selling one share.
Here for the big money. These men do not loose.
Again, what we have is the dream team, Kevin Allyn, Jeff Benz, and Frank Gomez. Add to that D Gold and Dr Apel and we have just hit it out of the park.
No worries.. glta

D Gold literally wrote the book on the alchemy of cannabis:
http://www.calgarycmmc.com/E-books/E%20Books%20A-B-C/Cannabis%20Alchemy%20-%20D.%20Gold.pdf
from http://www.medicalgreens.com
While the firm itself is new, Mr. Hoye and Dr. Apel began working together about forty years ago when Dr. Apel helped Hoye develop the methods in Hoye's book, D. Gold; Cannabis Alchemy, Methods for Preparation of Extremely Potent Cannabis Products in 1972. The book, still in print and available on amazon.com among other outlets, has sold over 100,000 copies over the years and is recognized as the standard work on cannabis extraction and concentration. It was the first book published to present cannabis technology from a consumer's point of view.
Hoye went on, through numerous books, products and inventions, to become an authority and household name, again as D. Gold, in the world of scientific cannabis culture and technology. He opened the first new legal dispensary in San Francisco in 1996 after the passage of prop. 215, and founded the Dharma Patients Cooperative non-profit (now Dharma Care and Hospice Program) in 2006, which supplies free medicine to terminal hospice patients in California who have been recommended cannabis medicine by their doctor, but cannot afford it.. Recently Hoye penned the soon-to-be-published, Cannabis Chemotherapy, a compendium of scientific literature demonstrating the efficacy of concentrated cannabis medicine in treating cancer.
Dr. Apel has devoted much of his life to pure science, obtaining his PH. D in chemistry from University of California. Dr. Apel then conducted original research which showed that life on earth originated from freshwater ponds struck by lightning, instead of crawling from the sea. Dr. Apel has presented his findings at major universities around the world. Dr. Apel is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the astrochemistry branch of the Space Science Division of NASA/Ames Research Center, a research scientist with SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence), has served as a consultant to the Artificial Life Project at Los Alamos National Laboratory, a Lecturer in Biochemistry at San Jose State University, and is the Chief Science Officer at Berkeley Bio-Organic Research Laboratory. Dr. Apel is also an Associate Editor of Biosystems Journal.
The main concentration of Berkeley Bio is the development and production of non-psychoactive cannabinoid medicines, primarily for the treatment of cancer, allowing patients to obtain medically efficacious doses without attendant, and possibly negative, psychoactive consequences. A secondary interest is the development and production of equipment for the manufacture and production of cannabinoid-based medicines. Berkeley Bio has made substantial strides in these areas.
"We are pleased to have Berkeley Bio, Dr. Apel and David Hoye join the SK3 family," said A. Mayor, President of SK3 Group. "Our goal has been to assemble the finest minds on the planet to develop this venture. The team that SK3 Chairman Kevin Allyn has already assembled is first class, and with the addition of Dr. Apel, we have added a highly-respected scientist with a great mind and much knowledge in our area. David Hoye brings us a lifetime of experience in the world of cannabis, with many inventions and accomplishments. The acquisition of Berkeley Bio brings us a solid research laboratory to further our efforts to ensure that lawful consumers of cannabinoid medicines are able to have their medical needs met. We could not be more pleased and we look forward to a successful collaboration as we build this business."
A Brief History of D. Gold, Founder of Berkeley-Bio
May 2, 2013 at 5:49pm
A pioneer in the world of cannabis technology, in 1972 D. Gold developed methods and techniques for the extraction and purification of medicinal cannabinoids that he detailed in the 100,000+ selling book Cannabis Alchemy. This work was carried out with Dr. Charles Apel. This was the first book on cannabis technology written from a consumer’s point of view. Gold went on to edit, design and publish the first edition of Ed Rosenthal’s Marijuana Growers Guide and worked with Tom Forcade in the founding of High Times magazine. In 1977, Gold produced the Isomerizer and Iso2 extraction machines, and went on to develop this technology into helping pioneer the alcohol fuel (gasohol) industry by building a 5000 gallon solar/vacuum ethanol distillation plant with the Calif. Dept. of Food and Agriculture, UC Davis, and the DOE. Gold penned the book Solargas in 1979, the first modern book on fuel ethanol.
In 1994 Gold founded Creston Brewing Company, brewing Olde 420 Deadhead Draft , and Hempinstead Ale , the nation’s first commercially-sold hemp beer. In 1996 Gold founded Dharma Producer's Group, San Francisco’s first new legal medical cannabis dispensary after the passage of Prop 215, under the watchful eye of SF District Attorney Terence Hallinan. After several incarnations, Dharma has since developed into the non-profit collective Dharma Care and Hospice Program, which provides free high-quality cannabis medicine to those Californians who are terminally ill and cannot afford the cannabis medicine prescribed by their doctor. Recently Gold co-authored the soon-to-be-published book Cannabis Chemotherapy, a compendium of scientific literature demonstrating the efficacy of concentrated cannabis medicine in treating cancer. Gold taught the Sunday Afternoon Grow Class from 2007 - 2010 at Harborside Health Center, the preeminent medical cannabis dispensing facility in the world. In 2011 - 2012 he co-founded Berkeley Bio-Organic Research Laboratories. He spends his time at Berkeley Bio-Organics working on many different aspects of helping manifest worldwide safe access.
