i've got no problem with questioning the company and management on statements they have made.
Kim has made no statement to me about they will have a conf call.
I'm not doubting your word, but this is IHUB and people post their comments. I didn't hear it, so I won't change my mind on the investment based on yours or anyone elses verbiage.
No disrepect intended. I grew up with "don't believe anything you hear, and only half of what you see".
you can go where you want Ed, but I like this company, technology and management; and unless something changes my mind about those three things, time alone sure won't.
Thank you Man, that was 'interesting' about Joe.
I'm curious about this mornings trading. All buys. Can anyone tell which MM's made those buys or? I'm curious if there is a number of people or a few people buying?
either way, I like it. very nice support at this level.
was Manshoon going to be out again today? Something always seems to 'go funny' when he's out???
Go KBLB
I'm seeing a bid and ask on otcmarkets, so they should still be trading.
Thank you Taco,
I never tried that before, assumed it was for 'paying guest'.
Interesting movement this morning, although not a lot of volume.
Anybody have L2 to elaborate on trades? how much at what price?
Thank you x jag.
I appreciate your post and concur. I don't have my 'life savings' in this venture, but I have most of my 'gambling money' in it right now. I'd rather 'spin the wheel' with a company which, to me, has a great idea; an unbelievable group of people involved with the company, and some proven advancements toward accomplishing their goal.
I appreciate someone on this board with similar thinking. I'm really tired of the 'nervous nellie' rants I've been reading here lately.
If ya got no b_lls, then get out; but quit whining, and listen to what the company says not all these posters. The company hasn't lied to us yet. They've never missed on a statement that they have made yet and no matter what someone says they think, the company has been honest, follows up on what they say and been right on target so far.
Obviously , my money is on KBLB (and not just to make a quick buck).
I've always wondered why people make comments like that. Can you elaborate in any way? Why Canada? Did you dream it or is there any justification for your thoughts?
I don't mean to sound mean, but I'm curious if there is any rationalization behind your thought or something you saw or just speculating.
I could say that General Motors is talking to KBLB about making their Volt somewhat feasible by making it stronger and lighter; but it is purely a thought of mine without any rationalization.
And with a texture never known before.
A ROTH IRA would be quite beneficial to someone who bought a stock and the stock appreciately significantly (such as KBLB may very well do). I previously did some investigation into this very idea. I looked at converting a standard IRA to a ROTH.
The only catch to my plan was that you need to have a ROTH account opened for at least 5 years prior to taking any of the monies out. Or rather any of the 'appreciated' monies.
e.g. open a ROTH and buy KBLB stock in that account. ROTH money has already had the taxes paid on it (no deduction for contributing to a ROTH account). After 5 years of holding the account, you can withdraw ALL profits with no tax being assessed. IF you withdraw prior to the 5 year period, any monies you withdraw ABOVE the money you contributed to the account (the profits) will be taxable.
IF you currently have a ROTH account, you can 'move' the KBLB stock into it and the time frame for not withdrawing is dependant on the date you opened the original ROTH account.
I, of course, am no tax counselor and as such my opinion is purely that; my opinion. You should discuss any tax situations with your tax counselor.
Good luck Man,
I hope and pray all is well.
he's back. mojo or just mo
In what capacity are you employed by Dupont or what connection makes you privy to what deals Dupont does or does not 'do' with KBLB or any other company?
As far as you can tell??
I can tell something about you.
Go KBLB
When? A and other months including today
How much? E
thanks 'got the mo',
you've made my day. your bashing of KBLB means I've invested wisely.
I agree with someone earlier who said their review of your previous posting indicates your character.
ROFL
Dive,
you said:
"KBLB does have rights to the piggyBac technology, which has many uses outside the realm of silkworms and spiders"
yes rights to use it, but not exclusive rights to the PiggBac process, as I understand it. Dr. Frazer has that patent and he could use it for something other than this process, excluding the patented part of the technology that KBLB does have.
Please, someone correct me if I am wrong, but that is how I understood it.
Au Contraire Taco,
I am optimistically buying more KBLB at these dips. As Dabraham, I too am trying to pick a low point to buy and it invariably drops a few hundredths afterward, however I still feel like these prices are highly undervalued and am looking at the BIG picture.
As many have said, this technology should be very valuable and I believe Kim, although not much of a motor mouth, will be providing stockholders with a great gain.
JB2, I fully understand your investment strategy and can appreciate not wanting to lose too much of your investment. What I can't figure out is, if you have had this stock for 13 months you should have accumulated some shares at near a penny or two as I did. Although my pps price continues to climb with my more recent purchases, I am still in a nice profit and I believe this stock will reach new yearly highs before next September. At that, I will be in a very nice profit.
It is hard for me to watch a downward movement, but I have enough faith to continue to buy.
GLTA
pure speculation here, but IF Joe is known for
"During his Wall Street career, which lasted nearly 15 years, he was involved in dozens of initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions and other financial transactions"
from his website, then his contribution may very well be in the merger and acquisition area. Seems like our other business advisory board members are more about getting the product and the companies together where maybe Joe is more of the Wall Steet part of the equation.
Again, just speculating, but his experience could be helpful in certain areas and it leads me to speculate further that we are nearing something here with KBLB.
I particularly like the conclusions from this 2/25/2011 published research article.
Good Find, King!
Conclusions/SignificanceThis study demonstrates that spider silk enhances Schwann cell migration, axonal regrowth and remyelination including electrophysiological recovery in a long-distance peripheral nerve gap model resulting in functional recovery. This improvement in nerve regeneration could have significant clinical implications for reconstructive nerve surgery.
KBLB good for the nerves!!!
silkmaster,
I didn't see anyone comment on your post #14618.
Can you provide a bit more information?
"... last two days there is a buzz on kblb" WHERE?
"some kind of a sitedown is taking palce in the far-east..." what people and what is a sitedown?
"... talking about the wonder took the time and got there via air to update and report..." someone went there? report?
Just curious about what you are actually saying and where you heard this?
Manshon,
Could you elaborate on this?
"I think I sort of did get an answer about getting those regular shareholder updates from ben. He sorta said we should soon begin to be satisfied by pr's that will mean there would no longer be a need for something like that,..."
To me that sounds like PR's might be coming out in the near future which would provide us with all the info we desire. right?
I don't write much on this site, but I do read all and I realized I have not expressed enough appreciation for a number of people here related to information gathered and presented here and in other venues. Thank you very much as it makes keeping up with a stock quite a bit easier.
Manshon, your poll 'essay' recently covered many valid points and was quite clear. Thank you for that and all of your 'moderator' work.
Ed and ES, with regard to your trading strategy, I do not purport to be able to advise anyone on an appropriate method but I would like to add one thought related to appropriate timing to purchase and or sell KBLB.
One reason I continue to accumulate and have never sold any shares of KBLB is the possibility of an acquisition. In the event that a complete buyout is the option that Kim accepts, there is the likelihood of trading in KBLB stock being halted and those with stock would be paid the buyout price. In that scenario, there would not be a chance to purchase KBLB at 10 cents or whatever the latest trading price is. It would likely jump to the buyout price even if trading were to continue after an announced merger.
I personally do not wish to take that gamble with this stock doing that, although I recognize it as only one option for KBLB. Although I do not 'take to heart' everything Joe Noel says, I do recall him posting something about Kim having 'other ideas' and a buyout might provide him with funds to pursue some of those ideas if he wishes.
Thanks again for all the hard work many have done on this site, wiki, facebook, google and everything else.
GLTA,
Thank you Patience,
A voice of reason in a sea of irrational speculation.
This has always been an "investment". Not one of the stocks you can flip or pump or bash much. Good idea, good development, good management. Rewards will come with patience.
KBLB is an investment.
Very well said es1. Astute, logical and completely rational approach to investing in this wonderful stock. KBLB has the potential to reward it's investors significantly, but one must understand this type of investment.
Look forward to seeing you at a stockholders meeting when this stock's dividends are paying significantly.
GO KBLB
One of the things that I noted in this 2008 Kim interview is his comment when asked about where does he see KBLB in 5 to 10 years.
He said the company goal was to develop recombinant spider silk polymers to capture between 2 and 3% of the technical textiles market.
Kim stated that the technical textiles market was $92 billion (2008) and projected to grow to $130 billion by 2010. That projection seems to have been fairly accurate. 2% of the market would be about $2.6 billion and dividing by over half a million outstanding shares, the pps would be about $5. Keep in mind, that this number is based soled on technical textiles market, exclusive of any clothing and / or medical applications; as I understood it.
I am not one to speculate a lot on share price and I do realize that there are a number of assumptions in the above. I am also not sure where Kim is currently headed with this company, but he did state that he assumed that the company might be bought out by a larger firm capable of developing the spidersilk technology.
There have been a lot of changes since this 2008 audio, but I do not see anything much different with the exception that now we have the technology pretty well developed and we are in the verification and market development state. If anything, this gives me a better feel about my investment and Kim's direction.
JMHO GO KBLB
Personally, I would be reluctant to speculate on a given time frame for news. I do not believe that Joe Noel or anyone other than perhapw Kim could give a time frame. And he may not due to continuing talks with whomever he is talking with.
News will come when there is news.
I completely understand anxiety about what is going on with KBLB, but I decided to put my 'investment fate' in Kim when I bought the stock. I believe it is a good move.
As I have stated previously, I have a significant amount of time and stock invested in this company. I have enjoyed this board and appreciate the wonderful efforts that have been put forth by many. There was the 'trying time' which saw KBLB rise dramatically and fall significantly since the 'pumpers and dumpers' got involved last fall. This stock is still up significantly and likely appropriately considering the current state of the business. This business is NOT a business in the normal since, but purely a very small company with (in my opinion) very valuable property rights.
Anyone invested in this company should understand, as Ben indicated in Man's interview, that KBLB may not be the stock for many since it is a speculative investment.
I have noticed of late that there are a number of new names and some with a lot of negative or unhelpful comments.
Those that wish to make comments referring to profits and debt and employees, etc... of NORMAL businesses appear to be unknowledgeable about this type of investment and I would suggest that they find other opportunities.
Negative comments related to lack of news, etc... seem foolish to me and as some suggest do not appear to be beneficial. KBLB has a very good record of news, achievement, credibility and progress toward its goal. To that end, I believe my investment in this company will reward me greatly.
I really enjoyed the posters of old and enjoy some of the more current ones quite a bit less.
I bought KBLB long before I heard of Joe Noel. I would assume a prudent investor would do the Due Diligence which would NOT rely too much on any individuals opinion.
After reviewing your comments, I'm also assuming your interest in this stock appears to be to scare people and not particularly present any relevant DD.
I've often wondered why people spend their time and effort in such endeavors. Some have opinions about that. I believe another post not too long ago referenced everybody expects some 'reward' for their efforts.
There is much more valuable information related to KBLB rather than Joe Noel's opinion. And your's as well.
I'd be interested in your DD as well. Doesn't appear that you've been here long, nor thoroughly reviewed the intro.
Not criticizing, but having owned this stock for over 2 years and watched this board for over 6 mos., All of your questions have been answered previously.
And to JB2, again no criticism, but I have talked to Ben a couple of times and emailed a few times, long before this stock 'hit the spotlight' so to speak.
He has always been knowledgeable, friendly and informative. I do not believe he is as you indicate, but rather appears to be a connection with Kim.
Your implications are that he is somehow untrustworthy or unreputable do not instill in me any confidence in your intentions on this board.
Kblb is and has been, a small, essentially one man business utilizing the brilliant minds of University Researchers to develop an amazing technology, on a rather austere budget. Currently, Kim is pursuing the business aspect of turning a research endeavor into a profitable business.
Was there not some 'other' type of marker that identified the strain? I remember something about that as a way to identify and prosecute trademark offenders.
OR I could just be getting old and forgetting things. I won't forget KBLB though.
i have also had success with taking a cashiers check into the local office. You have to take it in before noon and it will generally credit to your account by 2 or 3.
They GENERALLY put this restriction on stocks that trade for under $1.
Or at least Scottrade does. I did get them to make an exception once when I was 'anxious' to purchase some more. IF you trade with them much or have much history or much money, they likely will override that. So I'd ask.
1) Has anyone actually seen this silk? Yes, view the Notre Dame Press Conference on web site link.2) Is the company already producing it and/or selling it? Gen1 or Gen2? Yes, producing in a research environment. No, to selling as of yet.3) Besides kim thompson, who else is employed by the company? I don't know of any employed except possibly with the exception of Ben Hansel. There are at least 4 internationally known members of the advisors board. 4) What justifies a current market value of ~$38,000,000? The potential of the products invasion of markets selling over 130 Billion dollars 50 Are there other companies with similar products and what are their names? No. Spider silk, until now has not been commercially viable
The intro on the IHub should answer a number of questions and further delve into my answers above.
If you search on ProKorov, you will see he owns OXM Group.
A10, love to 'be in touch', but don't have pm capabilities. IF you pm me, I'll provide contact info.
Thanks
I'm not sure if an uptick will happen today. The update from Kim was nice but not necessarily full of any new information.
I think it is great though for us longs to get a little 'soothing' from him. I am happy to see his plan is moving in the way he wants since i trust his plan. Judging last nights comments there are a couple different attitudes from what I thought were all longs. And I must congratulate all on the very nice commentary. Different opinions and different methods presented in a very NON-antagonistic way. Nice board members of old.
I don't keep up enough with current stock movements so i tend to buy and hold. Other methods are certainly suitable to those involved. I still believe KBLB has much, much potential and will provide more income. Fortunately I am still in the green and I have lost a whole lot of paper money, but believe it will come back. And I should have been playing SAEI as well, but I'm still in on that one too. :)
GLTA
Hello Spider Man,
Sounds like your plan is similar to mine. I started buying cheap and have felt like my purchases ever since were well worth what I paid for them and will continue to buy at these prices. Retirement looms and the marvelous potentional of KBLB will make mine more secure. I do not worry and do not say much on here, but KBLB will benefit all who own it.

conf call on Mon before open
Guys, I've been watching but not chatting and I have a relatively small position in SAEI which I am LONG on.
I am curious about the speculation on the amount of gold from a number of people.
Very good drill numbers, but I don't see / understand any kind of correlation to AMOUNT of gold from the drill numbers. a hole says there is gold and they look good, but a volume is determined from defining the limits of the gold and the amounts within those limits.
I'm all for this company and look for a higher price with my shares, but I'm just curious how anyone speculates on the amount based on what i've seen so far.
Not looking to argue, just get info. GLTA and go SAEI
Great, the link in your post works.
I could not get the link on the Kraig site to work though. Although there is not a lot of NEW news, I think it is great for people who are not as familiar with what KBLB has done and where they are.
Getting 'slicker' by the minute.
Thanks Ducati for the link.
