I think you better do a little fact checking on that one chief. Hurricanes are far larger than this oil spill.
The chief concern would be spreading the oil around, either onshore or into the loop current and into florida. Eitherway we lose.
Annd over in here back in reality.. $6 million in notes payable = 60 billion shares. No quarterly statement filed so we don't know how much has been dilluted. I think shareholders are going to be pretty surprised to see it's not very much.
Most people don't like to see their investment drop 50%...
Okay? I still don't see how that matters. Oil lobbies are huge in our government, and most retirement funds are invested in oil companies. Nothing is going to happen to BP. I know this because nothing happened to Exxon.
Please show me anything that indicates BP cares about what they have done and I'll start to think they will care about state or local pressure. They know as much as these localities that they need BP to clean this up and more importantly BP indirectly employes a lot of people along the gulf states.
I think they are skirting a fine line. The government doesn't want to be responsible for cleaning this up and I think if they try to force BP to do anything they will invariably end up "partnering" with BP to get this mess cleaned up.
I don't think its a matter of when it will hit florida, or the east coast but when.
Dilute a little? How about dillute it to no bid, twice in the last two weeks.
Well BP is responsible for cleaning up the spill. They requested help from the defense department and the government obliged. You can expect BP to get a bill for those services.
I think people are ridiculous if they expect BP to award a giant contract one week after receiving samples. They have GOOD news to give us and I'll take that in stride.
Well those people need to get off because I don't see BP awarding contracts with anyone right now. They are caught up in politics.
It happened because they didn't care about the safety mechanisms, they only cared about getting the oil up into their pockets. If the oil is filling the water column then pissed isn't going to begin to describe the response when beaches are closed from the gulf to Maryland.
P.S - I was joking about BP being a scam; I guess when you get to the NASDAQ you go from scam to crook. =)
Yes!! They have such a huge A/S, O/S and float they MUST be a scam.
*sarcasm*
BP is a scam.
I had to say it. :P
Never? Stick around the pennies long enough.
I'm starting to think conference calls equal death.
I attend conferences for larger companies and some in person.. I only see this level of immaturity with pennystocks. It's a shame anyone with $100 can invest. There should be a test to get a brokerage account.
I think because people know the content of the conference, we will have some initial buy interest, maybe some selling for people who want to get out and end up back where we started when the conference starts.
Unlikely. I can't see how a contract would be more expensive than buying them (and their shareholders) out.
I think it was just the software being used to run it. They should have canceled but I think they had some pretty good news they wanted to get out on Friday for investors to spread around this weekend.
well in that case they better hurry up because its already washing in LA
And I'll have the ACLH spray ready to clean 99.9% of it off =)
No?
They presented legitimate and reasonable things. It was just that no one could hear. They sent the samples to BP and like a GOOD company they are pressing on with the majority of their business.
ACLH Conference Postponed, PR in the next few days will announce new date.
It sounded like they had a lot of positive things to say. I'm sure they will release a PR on monday with a summary. Anyone who sells now is just ridiculous.
Well, the call just dropped everyone. I think I'm just going to go to the beach, finish packing, drink this weekend and hope BP buys up everything and keeps with their corporate plan :P
Same thing PR said, they sent samples to BP and are waiting to hear back.
I can't hear very much of this conference because of interference.
I heard something about a distribution agreement but couldn't hear who it was with.
They entered into a LOI agreement for oil wells in Texas.
Great, they aren't able to mute everyone.
Keep trying, people drop often.
Yeah but they made big promises and only delivered a delay.
This conference is stated to be nothing more than a company update.
They need to mute the entire conference call and not take questions at the end.
Tom's clothes are absorbent, let's throw him in the gulf
Yeah, it was me I need to get some gas later.
;)
God why can't people learn to mute their conferences.
ACT Clean Technologies, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: ACLH) (www.actcleantech.com) announced today that it has set 2:00 PM (Eastern) Friday, May 21, 2010 for a conference call. Instructions follow for listening to the call:
Dial the Conference Dial-in Number: (712) 775-7100
Then enter the Participant Access Code: 113646#
I debated saying Tony Hayward (BP CEO) when it said to say my name but I didn't want to be a <word that I can't say on ihub> :P
You can join the CC now, sometimes I like to get in early in case there is a size limit on the conference.
oops. But the point still stands
Let's be realistic. If they had a contract it would be PR'd or the cc would be early in the trading day. A Friday conference one hour before close is just going toi contain forward looking statements
BP makes 2 billion dollars a month. It's not impossible but it's also extremely unlikely and silly to be thinking at this point.
A conference call 2 hours before the closing bell has me concerned but I'll wait it out. I expect a sell-off pre-conference and I'll be listening very intently.
I think it's possible but so far it doesn't look like they are organized to do this at all. They still have 100,00 gallons of a second type of dispersant sitting in Texas. I think once they get organized the answer is going to be the same one BP always relies on -- buy it all.
