Prime Sun Power brings in Hellenic Technologies team to manage projects

US solar company Prime Sun Power has engaged a team of 12 Hellenic Technologies engineers to manage and supervise its solar photovoltaic projects.

The team is to be led by Dimitris Kazantzis, CEO Hellenic Technologies, as part of an exclusivity deal, which will see the team allocated solely to Prime Sun projects.

‘My team delivered many projects over 20 years in a timely manner. We have worked with major vendors delivering very important projects worldwide. We are certain that our mission with Prime Sun Power will be successful,’ said Kazantzis, who is to serve as COO and will be appointed to the Prime Sun board of directors.

The team, which is expected to double in size over the next two years, will be involved in the preparation of proposals, selection, negotiation and finalisation of contractors as well as the design of control systems, and project management on behalf of Prime Sun.

The company plans to develop, build and operate 500MW of solar generation through the end of 2013, of which 150 megawatts are expected to be acquired by third party investors.

Tolland Man Started Working On Fuel Cells A Few Years Ago

“We've put over 250,000 miles on some of our cells in our diesel trucks and in the long term, it's worked very very well,” said Robert Guild with CT Hydro.

The system Guild came up with is essentially a black box that converts water with electrolytes into hydrogen.

“We're taking the water and moisture out of it, and then injecting it right into the airstream of the engine,” Guild said.

The mix burns cleaner, resulting in virtually no emissions and much better mileage.

Elaine CoFrancesco of Tolland has had a fuel cell in her car for about a year.

“We've noticed that there has been a reduction in the amount of times we have to fill the gas tank. The car has more power, so it's been good,” she said. .

The fuel cells can work on virtually any engine, gas, diesel, trucks, cars, even emergency vehicles.

The cells are produced at a company in Atlanta.

“When the cells come up here,.they get modified. Software is added into it and it's programmed into vehicles,” said Neil Johnson with CT Hydro.

Norman Nadeau of Willington said his John Deere tractor uses fuel cells.

“One in my hydro Cummins diesel truck on the farm, a large truck. It went from 14 mpg to 22 mpg, and that's with a full load and no black smoke,” he said.
