Azure Dynamics issued U.S. Patent for Battery Management Technology
Vancouver, British Columbia—April 29, 2003
Azure Dynamics Corporation (TSX Venture - AZD) (“Azure”) a leading developer of hybrid electric powertrains for commercial vehicles is pleased to announce that the United States Patent Agency has issued patent number 6,555,991 to Azure for its battery management technology.
Battery management plays a significant role in the functionality and performance of Azure’s electric and hybrid electric technology. Azure’s battery management and equalization system, now under U.S. patent, focuses on the protection of the individual modules in a battery pack during charging and discharging. The system also monitors the voltage and temperature of the modules, in real time, in order to maintain battery pack integrity resulting in a more equalized battery pack with a significantly longer life.
Campbell Deacon, CEO of Azure Dynamics said, “Azure’s intellectual property is specifically designed to improve the efficiency as well as the economics surrounding our hybrid electric technology. We will continue to develop our intellectual property so as to improve our technology. Azure’s Smart Energy Management makes hybrid electric powertrains a financially attractive alternative to conventionally powered commercial vehicles.”
Azure Dynamics Corporation is an innovative company that has developed proprietary hybrid electric vehicle technology for the light and medium duty commercial vehicle category. Azure was the recipient of the Canadian Energy Efficiency Award 2003 from Natural Resources Canada in the category of transportation (light duty commercial vehicles) and also received the 2002 Applied Energy Innovation Award from the Canadian Institute of Energy (BC).

My son just passed hunters safety! He already has several guns but now he wants to try to keep up with the old man. He is always saving up his money for a new gun. Can't fault him for that I guess. He just bought a 300 win mag and I was telling him to buy a good scope not a cheap one. The ones I like are several hundred bucks. He might listen to you. What scope would you guys put on a 300 Win mag?

NRA's LaPierre Promises 1994 Gun Ban Will Be
Defeated
Jeff Johnson, CNSNews.com
Friday, April 25, 2003
ORLANDO, Fla. – The chief of staff for the nation's largest defender of
gun owners' rights said today that the 1994 ban on so-called "assault
weapons" enacted by then-President Bill Clinton will not be renewed
under President Bush.
"We are bound and determined that that the Clinton gun ban on
semi-autos and so-called 'assault rifles' will not be re-enacted," said
Wayne LaPierre, executive vice president of National Rifle Association to
a standing ovation. "I promise you that."
LaPierre's comments came at a gathering of more than 300 NRA
members attending a workshop on grassroots political activism before
the group's annual meeting Saturday.
Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, the anti-gun group formerly
known as Handgun Control Inc., has attacked NRA for not supporting the
Clinton ban on semi-automatic hunting and sporting rifles.
"As a former U.S. Marine, I have fired 'assault weapons,' and there is no
legitimate civilian use for these weapons," said Michael Barnes,
president of Brady Campaign. "There is no good reason, no defensible
reason to turn back the clock and allow 'assault weapons' to be on the
streets."
Though Brady Campaign refers to the law as an "assault weapons ban,"
the legislation actually bans the manufacture and importation of
hundreds of types of semi-automatic firearms commonly used by
hunters and sport shooters. "Assault weapon" is a technical and legal
term referring to fully automatic weapons, more commonly called
"machine guns."
According to statistics from the U.S. Department of Justice's Bureau of
Justice Statistics, only about 2 percent of criminals in state or federal
prisons for committing a crime with a firearm used a weapon banned by
the law.
Establishment Media Don't Understand NRA; Politicians Do
LaPierre said the reason the establishment national news media always
predict defeat for gun owners' rights is because they don't understand
the devotion of those who support the Second Amendment.
"What they don't see is all of you and folks like you all over the country
that, one by one, believe in freedom, believe in what we stand for ... it
changes everything," he said. "I don't have to tell you that without what
you've done, without the NRA, President Bush wouldn't be there today.
"There's absolutely no doubt it would be Al Gore," LaPierre continued.
"Even Bill Clinton said it."
Chris Cox, executive director of NRA's Institute for Legislative Action,
said NRA members - like those who took off from work and traveled from
all over the country to attend the session this morning - were the reason
the group was so successful in Congress and in state legislatures.
"It's not because of me; it's not because of Wayne. It's because of you,"
Cox said. "When we have legislative victories, it's because of you. When
we have election victories, it's because of you.
"When I walk into a politician's office, they're not scared of me," he
added, "they're scared of you."
According to Kayne Robinson, first vice president of the organization,
approximately 50,000 of the NRA's 4 million members are expected to
attend the group's 132nd annual meeting Saturday. The meeting will
include a tribute to NRA President Charlton Heston, who was recently
diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, and additional workshops on
defending the Second Amendment.
Congratulations Grampa Trainz! I'll bet your a real good one.

Nope not Canadian! Not French either!
None of those choices are on my list.
OT: I have many friends and family that are Canadians but when I hear how the Canadian fans and officials treated a 12 year old hockey team from the USA in Canada a few weeks ago. It is hard for me to have warm fuzzy for them! Plus the French really tick me off!

Play golf or find out the answers to questions about a major investment? If it bothers you as much as you say you could have played a later game! It comes back to the same thing. You didn't want to confront him in person. Hide behind a computer and cry! Once again. I am not defending anyone! Just sick of your crying!
You could have been a big man in front of everyone a week ago Saturday. But you would rather hide behind a computer and cry!
Tex, Why didn't you have the guts to call and ask him when you had a chance? I am not defending anyone! Just sick of all your crying!
Tex enough already! Everyone knows your opinion! I am sick of it! You are as bad as e-y! We all know already! Give it up!
I am not saying you are wrong! But We know already!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi bigputt2.
LB also said that Nigel P. Fitzpatrick was the CEO of Nxcell.
and also mentioned Dr. James Hill, President of BC Research as being part of Nxcell.
"Some info on the CEO of Nxcell"
Nigel P. Fitzpatrick, a founder of Azure Dynamics, whose past roles include being a technical director of Alcan International Ltd. where he started Alupower Canada Ltd (now Fuel Cells technology Inc. (FCT on TSX Venture) and was also a board member of Alupower-Chloride Ltd., a joint venture between Alcan and the Hawker Battery Group. Nigel Fitzpatrick, who graduated from Imperial College, is a recognized transportation, climate change, battery and fuels consultant.

This past weekend I was honored to see and hear the latest on Pipelink. I did also get to meet a person from the UK who's company he works for is very interested in Pipelink. (no idea who the company is?)
I was very impressed with the quality of people that have been involved with Pipelinks progress to date. We went through a high security facility where testing equipment of all kinds are being made and used. From a wind tunnel designed for testing the materials ability to withstand speeds of mach 17 to a plasma furnace designed to destroy army ordinance.
They are also working on a safe nuclear waist disposal unit. This is the caliber of people and facility that will be building and testing the Pipelink with proper funding. There has been NO progress on the Pipelink in the last year because of lack of money. The hope is that the group from the UK could take care of that problem. I don't know anything about how the meeting went. In talking with some of the engineering staff I learned there has been some changes in the joining process. Now they will be using (like materials) for the sleeve (no chance of corrosion), the dimples in the pipe are not going to be used (is thought not necessary and could cut costs). They want to make it as easy transition for the pipe layers as possible.
It looks to me like Pipelink is indeed alive!
The UK Company is one of Alan Rainbird's contacts. Alan is very much alive as well! Thanks Alan!
Lee Balak is very much alive and working! Thanks LB!
From my way of looking at all this.
The only thing good going on is the deal with BCRI and NXCELL. It is clear to me that LB is the one they want to deal with.
There was a date set that the Swedes had to complete a deal by the end of December. That did not happen. During this time Wolf decided to take a month long holiday. Maybe that time could have been spent doing other things?
As for LB impeding the progress of the company. From what I have dug up it is LB that is responsible for all the progress we have been making! I can't put a finger on one thing old Wolf has been doing! If it weren't for LB's efforts there would be no progress.
Tranz post said "Balak has apparently convinced BCRI that he (Balak) would be taking over Europe shortly." Why would BCRI defy a request from the CEO and President of PWTC unless they could see a very good reason to do so! What is that reason? They must have one.
Yes what about theroosters post.
"6? I may be wrong, but it is my understanding that Wolf Meyerfeld was a fifth member of the Consortium in Sweden. Being that he is both President and CEO of PWTC, if he did become a 20% member, would that not be a "CONFLICT OF INTEREST"??? Isn't that Illegal???"
"missing" $50,000." I think, Was it not Wolf that said the money was in the Bank?
I think there is more then one side to this story.
Oh yes. Thanks TD
