And that's exactly why we will close at $3.22 or above based on my algorithm.
Wow what's going on ? Up 15% so far.
Should close above $0.0120 today based on my DD and algorithm.
Calkin will be in Denver this Saturday September 27 as part of the CCI lectures. Wouldn't it be great if somebody from here actually signed up for the course at $299. You then get to spend the entire day listening to the famous Calkin. Then perhaps you can corner him during coffee break or lunch to secretly talk about GRCU. I cannot attend since I live too far away and have no time. Anybody else ?
Great post and Calkin comments include :
Robert Calkin, founder and CEO of the institute, said his organization is helping people prepare as if there’s a booming industry heading to Florida.
“We’re traveling around the country doing business seminars,” Calkin said Thursday. “We’re showing people how to get into the marijuana industry. How do they fit in. What’s the fastest way for them to figure out a business plan and start getting prepared for the eventuality for it being semi-legal or completely legal.”
The class already has 20 registrants at $299 per entry and Calkin said the seminar can take up to another 40 participants who can pay at the door or register online at cannabiscareerinstitute.com.
The Jacksonville event is one of several planned for Florida and several other sites across the country over the next few weeks. Calkin himself will be conducting a seminar in Denver on Saturday where medicinal and recreational marijuana is already legal.
Calkin acknowledged his organization is operating as if the Florida vote is academic and the legalization of medicinal marijuana here is a sure thing, even though the vote won’t take place until the Nov. 4 general election.
Multiple public opinion polls show at least 80 percent of Florida voters across party lines support the legalization of pot for prescription drug use.
“I have high confidence that it is going to pass in November and I have confidence that the whole country is going to be semi-legal or completely legal by 2020,” Calkin said.
Richard J. Cebula, finance and economics professor at Jacksonville University, said the mere presence of the marijuana seminar this weekend is a statement that its economic impact should be considered.
“I believe there is no question there will be a cottage industry surrounding this phenomena. I have no doubt it will be diverse. I’m not certain how large it will be,” Cebula said.
Despite the polls and the increased preparation for the business aspects of legalized medicinal marijuana, some — including many business leaders — refuse to embrace the pot industry in Florida.
Daniel Davis, president of Jax Chamber, said in a Times-Union article in February that he couldn’t foresee any substantial economic impact of legalized medicinal marijuana. “In my opinion, it’s going to be very low [impact],” Davis said. But that was shortly after the Florida Supreme Court gave approval for the medicinal marijuana initiative to appear on this year’s ballot.
A Chamber spokesman said Davis was unavailable for comment Thursday.
The Times-Union also sent an email request for an interview with Carlos Gil, founder of the Jacksonville Business Exchange, a relatively new commerce networking group with more than 3,000 members. Gil did not respond. The exchange was specifically formed to help smaller businesses develop.
Calkin said it’s not unusual for mainstream business leaders to deny or ignore the potential commerce that could come from the legal marijuana industry.
“One of the things that people don’t realize about this industry is that you don’t have to grow or sell marijuana to be in the marijuana industry,” Calkin said. “It’s creating a ripple effect through every other industry — advertising, marketing, plumbing, accounting, insurance — you name it. …”
If Florida approves the measure, it will follow the precedent of 20 other states along with the District of Columbia. Two other states, Colorado and Washington, made adult recreational use of marijuana legal.
The National Cannabis Industry Association cites a recent study by Arcview Market Research that concluded the national market for legalized medicinal and adult-use pot generated about $1.44 billion in industry value in 2013. The projected market for 2014 is $2.34 billion.
California, where medicinal marijuana was legalized 17 years ago, was the biggest weed industry value-generating state with a $980 million market in 2013, according to the study.
Calkin said any business leaders not accepting the economic impact of the marijuana industry are in denial.
“If they look at the data coming in… it’s going to become inevitable and anyone who keeps trying to deny it is going to be called some kind of alarmist,” Calkin said.
Cebula said while legalized medical marijuana can seem alluring as a business venture, it won’t eliminate all criminal activity surrounding the drug.
“The problem may not be the failure to create business opportunities and jobs. … The problem may be that there could be a secondary industry, namely resale,” Cebula said. “I believe it will reduce criminal activity associated with marijuana. Will it eliminate it? No, it’s creating a system of illegal resales. There is still a shadow industry going on here.”
Ultimately, there are going to be multiple business opportunities that arise, Calkin said.
“Well I think that’s what a lot of the people coming to the class realize once they get there,” he said.
We are very closely related to PVC* so it is relevant. Calkin just did something.
What is going on here ? Anybody know ? Is there a connection to GRC* ?
I wonder if it is a fake ask.
Thursday PPS should go above $0.01 based on the technicals and more importantly the recent surge in GRCU interest. There is also no doubt Calkin has a growing operation in the works and will announce via PR either this week or the next.
What is the difference between CBO and CBD ?
Pretty good post Chessmaster and a must read for everyone. Personally I think the EOD pop occurred because Tim Howard just received the OK to join the Plaintiff sometime this afternoon. Somebody knew.
I thought we already were in the CBD market.
Agreed another shake down by the infamous MM's.
Serves them right for selling and losing money. Let's do it again.
Painting the tape red. Someone is selling small amounts into the bid and probably at a loss in order to artificially drive the price lower. I myself can easily paint the tape green with a small 100 share buy at the ask. Easy to paint in both directions.
Yeah OK good one that was funny. Basically blaming me for the drop. And now I am seeing :
Bid | Size 0.0092 | 10,000
Ask | Size 0.0098 | 10,000
This is all over the map.
A huge ask just popped up at $0.0094 with 1,390,000 shares. What do you think is going on here ?
Calkin's computer must be slow. Give him a few more minutes.
What's with the negative post ? We just opened.
This photo is 9 months old and taken at ArcView conference in Las Vegas.
Slap that ask at $0.0099 someone please and get above $0.01+ before the PR.
Two hours and 10 minutes left before PR is released. Get ready.
Water comes from rain and the sink facet. We even have schools and roads here.
Weather in Calgary, Red Deer, and Edmonton is exactly the same as in cities like Seattle, Detroit, and Chicago. No different. Summers get really really hot.
I lived in Alberta for 26 years and I own DSCR shares. Does that mean anything here on this board ?
Your daughters nail polish matches very nicely with the Vitamin Fizz bottle.
What news ?
PR coming today at 2 pm EST. I can feel it. Calkin needs to tell us something and it's going to be good news. I am ready.
So we have to wait until December for the license. So what ? What's the big deal ? I can wait.
GRCU will create a lot of new millionaires here. I calculate at the current price of $0.01 in order to make your first million you would need to invest $10,000. Once PPS reaches $1 your $10K investment turns into $1M. I suspect most people here have at least $10,000 invested if not more. That means the $1M can be reached well before PPS $1. Now you may ask what are the chances the PPS will reach this target ? The answer is chances are very good say 95% with Calkin as CEO.
Yes I have been following all the episodes. My favorite is episode #3.
PPS is remarkably stable at $0.01. Nobody is selling. Everybody is waiting for Calkin to make the next move. Q3 financials should be out November.
It does NOT say that anywhere.
Can you send the link again ?
Why is the PPS starting to drop ?
We will close in the green today.
Huge buy order at $0.0067 seems to me.
Radio Shack needs new batteries. I'm only being realistic.
I'm laughing my head off right about now. Every stop loss to $2 got flushed out. If you notice PPS is now starting to go up. It will be a green close.
