Here are some things that could happen:

1. Courts rule that WaMu was not insolvent therefore the closing by the Office of the Thrift was illegal thus negating FDIC's handing over of WaMu to JP Morgan Chase.

2. New bidders come in looking for expansion and WaMu's $188 BILLION deposit base offers substantially a higher bid than JP Morgan Chase's $1.9 BILLION just like what happened with the Wachovia situation. Some suitors are:

Citi
HSBC
Banco
Morgan
Goldman
Wells Fargo

3. Investors sues and wins against JP Morgan and the FDIC for illegally taking over WaMu paying only $1.9 billion for assets of $307 BILLION.

4. JP Morgan Chase in order to avoid endless lawsuits in the future decides to payoff and settle with shareholders of WaMu for billions. Similar to what happened with JP Morgan Chase's takeover with Bearn Stern again with U.S. govt's help:

"On March 17, 2008, JP Morgan Chase offered to acquire Bear Stearns at a price of $236 million, or $2 per share. On March 24, 2008 that offer was raised to $1.1 billion or $10 per share in an effort to pacify angry shareholders. JPMorgan Chase completed its acquisition of Bear Stearns on May 30, 2008 at the renegotiated price of $10 per share."

5. Large institutions already lost so much with WaMu stock seeing the potential as stated above decide to buy more WaMu stock at these low PPS levels.

Any of the 1-5 will substantially increase Wamuq's stock price from these current levels.
