A quickie!
Hi folks. Just a quick hello as I drive past. I hope everyone is well. It has been a very hard week for all of us.
M.
FG, I probably shouldn't respond to your posts, because I know how sensitive you are to being questioned, but I don't care if I step on your little toes. The thing I find so amusing is that now you're even criticizing topics that have been common knowledge for years, and you have either ignored them or tried to convince others that they weren't important.
An ex-CEO's legal history that has been out there so long that even the probationary period has ended?
A PR firm that is so cleverly concealed as an unrelated firm that they even use the owner's name to name the company? Threats of subpoenas in a case for which you can't even state the charges being brought?
The list is lengthy, but you won't address them anyway, so there's not much point in itemizing all of your inconsistencies.
McBride has clearly made mistakes, but at least his story has remained somewhat consistent, and much of it is coming to fruition. Too bad you can't say the same.
In case you have forgotten your own advice, don't invest more than you can afford to lose.
"Just my Personal and deeply felt Opinion..."
Thanks Doc. That's sort of why I'm thinking it may transmit via the ground wire. That would also be the reason the signal can be viewed from anywhere in the system, as the hot leads are location specific, but the ground travels throughout.
My question is somewhat prompted by the amount of speculation some seem to be making on RB. It seems like such a no-brainer, yet no one has stated it. That's what makes me think I may be missing something.
Basic technology question:
There have been a few posts over on Raging BS about the ability for commercial SecureView systems to transmit during the day, at a time when there is reportedly no power to the lines. I may be mis-representing the question, but I think it's pretty close. The argument is that the signal can't travel through an incomplete circuit. Seems like a logical question, but are either of the following scenarios possible?
First, is the power truly off during the day, or are some systems always hot but the lights only come on when the photo sensor indicates darkness? There may not be AC current flowing during the day, but I believe the claims of the product are that they generate their own power (via rechargeable battery) when it's not available in the line.
Secondly, even if the "switch" or circuit breaker is off during the day, does a circuit breaker or switch disconnect both leads, or only the hot one? I'm no electrician, but it seems as though disconnecting both leads would disrupt the common ground. If the SecureView video signal is being transmitted by battery power, shouldn't it be able to utilize the ground lead in the electrical system?
Does anyone have any insights on this?
Thanks
Hi Ladies! Yes, it has been a quiet week. I can't stay now, but will return when I can.
At risk of stepping on anyone's fragile ego, I won't respond to any particular post. I'll merely express my gratitude to Matt for replacing the previous system of board management, in favor of the much more objective system we enjoy today. We may not like everything we read, but at least your system enables mature people to communicate in a respectable manner. We all know that if we don't like your rules, we're free to leave at any time.
Thank you Matt. Your continued efforts make this board worthwhile.
Well, since you asked......
I thought your post #12337 was a nice start. Too bad the sentiment didn't last.
Fine Frank It's self serving. McBride obviously hopes to profit from it. You're right, as usual.
Are you so engrossed in your own little world to be unable to drop your petty disagreement even for a while? I don't care if McBride profits from it or not. I'd lots rather see him/SEVU make a self serving contribution than no contribution at all.
Maybe we should all make additional contributions and post them here. I don't think it would hurt any of us to read about them in exchange for helping people who truly need it.
I hope you have found a way to help as well.
I don't think it was self serving either. I'm just a big advocate of charitible acts being done quietly. I agree that the intent of the post may have been one of "the company in which we have invested is contributing by sending cameras".
Regardless of the intent, it's a generous and potentially very valuable gift. It's quite possible that the cameras will not be used, but if they aren't made available, it becomes a certainty. I wish the biggest problem the searchers have is too many tools and resources.
Good choice Shamus. BTW, I agree with you that the prudent act would be to quietly make the donation, although I think many people are doing things today without completely thinking them through. I'm sure everyone wants to help in any way possible. We don't know if or how anyone will use SEVU cameras, but if there's even a chance of making a difference, I applaud the company for sending them.
I'll interpret that to mean that you're unable to answer. You have obviously told us everything else about your alleged suit. About the only thing you haven't told us is whatever you claim they have done that's illegal. That's not exactly telegraphing a strategy, as it will be included in one of the first sentences on the court document. Maybe I watch too much television, but on the cop shows, they usually tell people what they're being charged with. U.S. Courts do the same. My hunch is that you know you don't have a case, which would further explain why you're unable to answer such a basic question.
Sorry if you think I'm a pest. You may live in a world where you can make outlandish claims and not be challenged for validation, and you may believe that those who question you are pests, but maybe if you'd learn to be a little more thorough in your actions or statements, you wouldn't have to embarrass yourself by changing your mind so frequently.
Interesting choice of closing words in your previous post. Possibly one of the most accurate statements we've seen from you lately.
FG, many of us read the messages from last year when they were originally posted. I don't think I'm the only person here who is more interested in current issues. May we conclude from your failure to respond to direct questions about your alleged lawsuit that you are either unable or unwilling to respond? The questions are pretty simple, so I can't believe you'd have to do any research to find answers.
This morning I asked a couple of questions in post 12299. The primary issue seems to be trying to identify which law(s) has been broken. I'm not claiming that there are none. I just don't know what they are and you obviously feel differently.
I understand your intentions. My question is as follows: Specifically, which law(s) have they broken?
You have clearly stated that you believe McBride withdrew company funds for personal use, and that you believe it was inappropriate to draw upon company assets when available cash was minimal (I'm obviously paraphrasing here). Your requested remedies are clearly stated as well.
The issue I'm trying to understand is how you expect to solve this in court. The money he reportedly borrowed (or withdrew) has been documented and legally reported. He is the majority shareholder, and whether he's pulling strings behind the scenes or not, it must have been approved by the Board of Directors. Also, you and the courts aren't in a position to retroactively impose a $100K interest payment. Has someone seen an agreement stating that this was to be repaid at a particular interest rate or term? BTW, I may be mis-understanding your intent on the interest. Are you requesting interest on the money he borrowed, or is it interest which would have been earned by the company had the money been in a SEVU account?
I don't know the answers to these questions, but I've got to assume you do if you feel that you have a case. We have all been guilty of revealing our emotions in our posts. I'm just trying to get back to the facts, and so far, I haven't seen them.
Why would anyone "join the group" if they don't even know the basis for the suit? I'm not asking you to disclose your strategy. I'm simply trying to figure out what you're suing them for doing. Is that a secret for some reason?
Francois, what specifically are you suing SEVU for doing? We all know you're hoping to have the PP reversed or modified, but would you mind sharing with us the basis for your claim? I assume you're accusing them of breaking a law. Would you please tell us which law(s) is the basis for your claim?
Thanks
And the hits just keep on coming!
Now FG is criticizing other people's objectivity!
I thought about going to a movie tonight, but even Hollywood can't match this place!
You're entertaining, FG, I'll give you that.
There was a time when a link to a $10K underwater camera may have been vaguely interesting to some, even if only as a reference to the high end of the market SEVU occupies. The difference today is that I don't recall where you have made an objective or balanced post since you performed your overnight change of opinion about this company. As I said before, at least McBride and SEVU have maintained the same stance throughout. You obviously can't say the same.
I love that you think I'm "too cheap" to participate in your little suit. No one likes the PP, but you seem to be ignoring a couple of relatively important questions. For starters, was the PP the best solution available at the time? What would have happened if they didn't issue the additional shares? Which laws did they break?
You may live in the world of bulletin board stocks, but I don't. If I happen to make some money on this (which I have), it's great, but it's not a large enough percentage of my portfolio to waste money on a trivial suit against a source of funding that may be the only reason the company is still in business.
I still question whether your overnight about-face is an effort to distance yourself from McBride in case he is guilty of something, but I'm beginning to wonder if you simply failed to heed your own advice about not investing more than you can afford. Are you so highly leveraged in a BB stock that you find it necessary to sue the company in a last ditch effort to salvage your investment? I obviously don't know the answer, nor do I care. I still think a suit would be counterproductive (assuming it ever happens), although I doubt you can even build a case, so I'm not too concerned either way.
Sorry FG. I obviously stole your well deserved alias. I don't care what you call it. Comparing a $200 camera with one that costs $10K or more is a joke. Maybe you were just "mentioning" it, but we're not stupid enough to fail to believe you wanted us to compare. I recently saw some really cool pictures of the Titanic. Underwater video, graphics, detail, and all! It was really cool! I should have posted it here, so I could have bashed SEVU because they weren't there to take the pictures! Maybe I could have even criticized them for not recording live video as the ship went down! That would clinch it. If you're not there for the big event, or don't happen to have the best equipment, you don't count.
I don't know why you're here, but I used to think you were an investor. Do you just read charts or suck up to insiders, or do you actually step back and ask whether or not what you read or hear is reasonable?
I've watched the BS from you, McBride, and others, and I'm beginning to believe that if you're this desperate, you have nothing better to offer. I've been critical of McBride for a long time (you know it, but you probably don't have the balls to admit it). You make him look like a Saint!
McBride and SEVU continue to deliver, albeit slower than expected. The SEVU story has been full of holes, and frequently different from what they said, although in retrospect, they seem to be delivering on what they said. Maybe not as quickly as they said, but the results are there. Too bad you can't say the same.
Best of luck Francois. You must be glad you live offshore, although I doubt anyone in the U.S. cares enough about you to pay attention anyway. If you can afford it, go buy a $10K camera and watch some fish.
Francois, your posts have become even more pathetic than those of people you used to laugh at! Printmail and Cook have been known to compare potentially similar products to those of SEVU, but I don't think even they would be foolish enough to compare SEVU cameras with something with a base price of TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!!
Are you trying to compliment SEVU (for a change) by suggesting that they are in the same league?
Seems like you've been grasping at straws for the past few weeks, but this time you appear even more desperate.
It's nice to know I can be mistaken for such a colorful person!
Seahag knows who I am. She has my e-mail address and my cell phone number. I may be a scumbag, but I'm not the one you thought!
I'll be at a ball game tonight, so I won't be around if this place gets crowded.
I hope everyone is enjoying their week-end!!
Good morning Colt. No harm, no foul. I assumed your were joking as well, but when SH and Carolyn jumped in I thought perhaps there may be more to it. After all, they know you; I don't.
I've never been to the board you referenced over on RB. I used to post on IHub SEVU under DK76, and on rare occasion as Honorable Poster (long story). SEVU is a stock board and it was a reasonably respectable and informative board for a while. A few weeks ago some things happened and it went downhill very quickly. I continued to watch it, primarily for the entertainment value and to see how bad it would become (sort of like the way people slow down to look at highway accidents or attend TB Devil Ray games). One day I told myself "Self, you'd have to be a moron to keep posting here". Rather than leave, I changed my alias. Besides, this one is so much more appropriate for most of what I do. BTW, my first post as "Moron" began with something like "I'm a long time poster with a new alias". Most people figured out who I am within a few posts, and I eventually confirmed it to those in doubt.
I'm not explaining all of this because I expect it to be paticularly interesting to anyone here, but as an attempt to convince you that I'm not one to sneak around using multiple names. After I changed to Moron, I learned that we're not supposed to use more than one alias on IHub, so I cancelled DK76 and Honorable Poster. We're all stuck with the Moron now! Personally, I like it!
Since it sounds like Carolyn is buying your drinks today, I'll buy you a bowl of those free peanuts she keeps in the barrel at the end of the bar!
Thanks Seahag. Or maybe I'm just slow.....
The problem is, debating it here isn't going to accomplish anything except make the participants look stupid. If someone has a case, it's not going to be tried on a message board. Take it up in court where the facts will be revealed and the outcome will be meaningful. If there isn't a case, let's shut up and move on. Either way, the half truths, hearsay, and innuendos are meaningless here.
I figure he's either joking or he thnks I'm someone else. If he's joking, I'll play along. If he thinks I'm someone else, the truth will come out eventually. I'm not one to make quick judgements without cause. As far as I'm concerned so far, no harm, no foul.
Hey, at least I didn't ask for their zodiac sign!
I don't know where some of you people studied Law, but the closest you'll ever come to passing the BAR is by driving past someplace during Happy Hour. Dan is right. This board has become a pissing match. The problem is, most of those involved don't have the first clue about what they're talking about! No one with a brain would ever rely on a message board for factual information, but there was a time when this was a place where a number of people with a common interest could intelligently discuss things and collectively, we may all learn something. Those days are obviously over. More recently, it was a source of mild entertainment, with occasional loose ties to a company some of us have invested in. Now, it's just a joke.
Some will argue that "The bashers won"! Congratulations. If the goal was to pollute a potentially useful communication forum, then you're right. I think it's time to flush now.
Tookin, or whatever you'd like to be called this week, if people stopped responding to you, you'd take your toys and go home. That's why few people ever do, and that's why I'm reluctant to do so as well.
That being said, if "rated range" is so important to you, and you don't know what it is for SecureView, the answer should be really easy, even for you: You don't buy one! Is that really so hard for you to figure out?
Thanks again Carolyn. It's great to meet you!
I've got to go do my homework. I'll visit again another evening.
Be well everyone!
Thanks for the invite SH.
I'll have to try them. Australia wines I have had aren't fabulous, but quite good and very reasonably priced. I'll certainly check out NZ. Thank you!
Not so horrible really. It's just what most people call me! Hang around me for a while and you'll understand.
A lady after my own heart!
Sorry. State.
I've had some Austrailian wines, but never New Zealand. Could be interesting!
Truth be told, some people do that to oysters, but not me. I prefer my raw meat medium rare.
They're not REAL men. We don't use it for mush. We eat ours straight!
Visiting from Washington.
I'm always up for something new. My favorite is Grgich, and my second favorite is Cakebread. Both from California, though, so they may not make to the Cyber-Disti.
Thanks SH. I can't stay long. I've got to help our kids with their homework before they go to bed. Sort of sends a bad message if I do it in a bar.
Thank you Carolyn! That's very kind of you.
Nice place you got here.
Thanks for the warm welcome SH. I'm a wine person. A nice Chard would be nice (I know, it's macho to drink other stuff, but alas, I don't qualify).
