Annie, from all I have been able to learn, it seems that SFB already has a lock on the options symbology business - so that should help -- a seamless transition, perhaps.
Hey Birdito, don't they say birds of a feather flock together? :)
SBird
Birdito, CMC is no longer used by Spooz - in fact there Spooz has a lawsuit pending against them for breach of contract. I'm not sure about Connamara.

Thanks, Allie. Very interesting. Remember, according to the recent Spooz PR, the Symbol Management Clearing Corporation mentioned in this article is the new joint venture company created by Spooz and SFB.
This article was written in November 2007 - I wonder if Spooz was involved back then, or if they teamed up more recently.
I think it would be very instructive to find out how SpoozToolz came to the attention of SFB. (One of my questions that ITGuy has for Paul)I'd like to hear the story of how the deal came about.
It is the first example of Spooz's software filling a need for a company in the highly competitive and complex electronic trading industry.
Thanks for the list, ITGuy. Here are some more from me:
When will we see advertising and marketing for Spooz products?
Are the ads produced by Trungale that we have seen going to Be used? (I thought they were very good)
Will we see Spooz products reviewed in the professional journals of the trading industry?
Thanks so much!
Songbird
Hi, ITGuy,
I have another question that I would be interested to get an answer to:
How did Spooz and SFB connect -- what was it that got SFB interested in Spooz technology?
Thanks for being willing to field these questions!
Songbird
GM, Bobby. I have searched in vain to find any evidence to support the rumor that options tradings will be banned.
The only new regulation I have been able to find regarding regulation of derivative trading is this - and this is an exchange regualtion, not a govenmental one.
NYMEX to raise margins on crude, related futures
http://uk.reuters.com/article/oilRpt/idUKN2831412820080528
IMO, if the US government were to ban options trading, there would be multiple exchanges worldwide that would not.
Thanks very much, ITguy. I may think of others between now and the meeting.
I wonder if we might start thinking about the shareholders meeting on June 12.
I'd like to send some questions (won't be there in person) and perhaps there are others in the same situation as me. Here are some questions that I would like to pose - which are probably on the minds of other investors too.
Here are a few for starters. Perhaps we can compile a master list.
1. How will Spooz generate revenue from the joint venture with SFB, and how soon will revenues start coming in from the JV?
2. Can we get any details about the financial arrangements involved in the SFB deal. What does Spooz give, and what does Spooz get?
3. When will SpoozToolz 2.0 be available for independent traders?
4. What kinds of feedback is Spooz getting from those who are involved in the testing of Spooz software?
Songbird
Yes, Ihub did have server problems this afternoon. Couldn't get on myself for a while.
Hi, Birdito. To me, it is always significant to hear what people from outside Spooz say about their products:
“The SMCC process is geared to meet the needs of the investment and financial communities to ensure that best execution in trade clearing is achieved more efficiently than ever before. This new process brings an entirely new dimension to the sophisticated trading environments of today and is truly a step forward into the next generation of electronic trading,” said Lee Clifford the new CEO of SMCC.
IMO, this is a strong endorsement which echoes things that Paul has been saying about ST for a long time.
Thanks for the repost, Allie.
In my opinion, this PR provides the best third party verification of the quality of Spooz products to date.
IMO, there is no way that SFB would have signed on to this joint venture if they were not satisfied that Spooz's technology was of superior quality. Spooz products must allow them to do things that they cannot now do for themselves, and/or do things they currently do better.
I don't think there can reasonably be much doubt now regarding the fact that Spooz has high quality software.
Best,
Songbird
Thanks for finding and posting this, airdale. It sheds a lot of light on SFB and what they do.

Thanks, Gmenfan. That is interesting - appreciate you sharing the information.
Thanks for the reply, trader79. I appreciate you sharing your impressions. I would second endub's suggestion about contacting the company. You sound like just the kind of trader that Spooz is targeting _ i'm sure they would be glad to hear of your interest, and you may be able to arrange a demo.
SB
Hi, Trader79. It has been interesting to read your recent posts. I might be wrong but from what you have said so far, it sounds like you are an experienced active trader, the kind of person that SpoozToolz and its related modules is designed for.
From what you have learned and seen from the demo, are the Spooz products kind of programs that you think independent traders would find useful? I think many people who post here are "investor" types who may not be needing the advanced tools that Spooz offers.
Also, can you provide an idea of the amount of money that independent traders might typically spend monthly for the tools they use.
If I have read you wrong, please forgive me - I appreciate your contributions so far, though.

Thanks, MC. I know what you mean. I won't be there, but I would like to send some questions the nature of which will depend on what else we might hear from the company between now and then.
We have time to get organized. It is a good opportunity to find out more of what is going on.
Songbird
Hi, MC. Are you going to the Spooz shareholder's meeting? If so I'm wondering if we could start a list of questions to bring up there. I know ITguy has already offered to be a collecter of questions. Just wondering what you, as chief mod, think is best.
Thanks!

Allie, I noticed that the previous quarter has $873,690 under notes receivable - this was before ST2 was deployed to the brokerages. It does appear Spooz is owed money, but it's not clear from whom.
Thanks, Peeved. A little exposure is good to see.
Thanks, MC. One thing I give Spooz and 141 credit for is getting their quarterly financials out on time. I think today is exactly 45 days after the end of the quarter and that is what they said they would do in their disclosures.
Indeed, the numbers are not pretty, but Spooz is acting like it should in terms of reporting.
Hi, MC. What do you think the differences between March and May might be?
TIA

Spooz Q1 financials now on Pinksheets.com
Thanks Critter - let's look for the SPZI Q1 report. Maybe today also.
I expect as time goes by and the product is released to the public that we will see reviews of the product in trade publications.
Nice to hear from you, ITguy - and thanks for the offer of taking questions. I won't be able to be there, and I may have some questions to send to the meeting. You did a great service last year!
Songbird
A good question to ask at the shareholder's meeting. I wonder if they could have the s/h meeting in the middle of a quiet period.
Not sure that it means much, but I noticed that MM UBSS is not on the ask today - it seems like he has been there for many weeks lately. UBSS is now on the ask at 0.0015.
I think those who follow the company closely may have known a lot of what is in the PR - but this could be new information to many.
To me, this looks like a summary of the technology they have developed so far.
Interesting thoughts, mtncabin. You may be on to something. Let's hope for good news soon.
Thanks for sharing, mtncabin.
Thanks very much, MC. I agree with your caveats - there are of course risks involved in investing in small startup companies. I don't however consider it pumping to present an optimistic point of view after one has done careful research.
MC, I, like many others, appreciate your contributions here. I know you try hard to get as clear a picture of the companies (SPZI & XXIS) as you can.
A quick question (which you may answer if you feel so inclined): based on your research, do you feel as optimistic about Spooz & 141's prospects as you did when the share price was quite a bit higher than it is today?
TIA (if you want to answer)!
Best,
Songbird
Thanks for this post, Jack.
Hi, Bobby. Thanks for your informative post regarding options trading.
In the latest PR, Errol Stone is quotes as saying "By becoming an investment advisor, 141 will be able to provide trade recommendations for securities as well as for derivatives. This will substantially increase the number of potential customers as upon its registration, 141 will be able to offer stock recommendations,''
So it looks to me like they have developed a system for creating stock recommendations as well as derivatives (which I assume includes options and futures) Since SWARM is only licensed for securities, I am guessing that they have other trading systems they can use.
Best,
Songbird
Thanks for the report, Birdito.
Glad to hear that the folks at Spooz are busy!
It is my understanding that companies using SpoozToolz at the moment are doing so using TT connectivity.
