detearing, I agree. It's all become crazy now that PLUG is in the limelight. I picked up more shares today at 6.75 and will certainly add if it gets under 5. Though, I do not expect this will happen.

aubrey64, regarding the auto deal, Mr. Marsh said that he would discuss the details in the near future (and I thought he implied this would be in two weeks). I listened to the entire call but was distracted by my children on multiple occasions. I wish I had taken notes. Hopefully someone here has more accurate information?
cooler
From the conference call there were three things that caught my attention :
1) new dealings with a major automotive company
2) the building cost of forklifts is decreasing ~10% (?) every year
3) and at the end of the call there was discussion about fuel stacks. First time I had ever heard of this. I am not sure what it means but possibly PLUG is going to build their own fuel cells at the New York facility? Regardless, it sounded like a cost saving measure.

For certain, I will be up early to watch this one. Hold on to your socks!
cooler
nypete, I plan on buying one for driving into work. A PLUG fork lift could be a game changer in LA traffic!

primetime678, regarding my opinion on what's going to happen tomorrow -- okay, first I am a newbie here. I purchased all of my share between Jan. 10th and Feb. 19th. I went back and read all of the posting on this BB starting back from ~June of 2013. I have spent countless hours reading up on plug. Before PLUG did this crazy run-up, my expectations were anywhere from $4-8 before tomorrow's conference call. I did not expect anything more than $8. Personally, I feel it's worth more and so this recent run up did not shock me. Who cares what I think. Look at the data. Who is buying into this technology? It's not only plug. Search Toyota and Honda. Is the infra-structure for hydrogen fuel cell support in the workings? Search it! Why is a fuel cell superior (or inferior or equal) to the "Tesla" battery. It's not easy to answer. However, to me is seems obvious. I think it's a great technology but it needs to be adapted by other to survive. Walmart's resent purchase of fuel cell has encouraged me. Toyota and Honda's rumblings of scaling up their hydrogen fuel cell car lines is also encouraging. Is it a home-run right now? Nope, we are in the first inning so it remains to be seen. I like our chances. This company has potential. If this company starts rolling down hill, and maybe it is already happening, watch out. It can gain a lot of momentum. Currently PLUG has slightly less than 0.1 % of the fork lift market so there is a lot of room for expansion. In addition, they have other interesting developments which I am certain Andy Marsh will discuss tomorrow (e.g, FEDEX and hydrogen fueling support). I have posted other comments regarding this so go take a look at mine and others.

Primetime678, I had the same problem when using the Windows Media" app. I got "Flash to work. [To the right of the play button are the other choices.]

I finally caught up on ALL of the post. Great stuff! Before the downturn my plan was to double up IF it made it down to 50 cents. I didn't pull the trigger. (I'm a wimp!) At first I was patting myself on the back when it made it down to 40 cents. Then I started believing the hype that is was going down to 30 cents. Oh well, I missed out big time. I'm very happy for those of you that got in at those prices!
cooler
Nice. Thank you for the link wickw50. Here's the quote Herringaid and silversmith are referring to.
terragord7, I strongly agree! this stock has a lot of momentum left. The tax credit expires soon (equipment must be installed by Dec. 31, 2016) so to take advantage orders need to be placed soon before capacity is filled. Current capacity is 2,500 units per quarter.

ferrari21, you got me! the cooler part is very true. lol
Toyota and Honda are introducing hydrogen fuel cell cars in 2015. So this technology just might take off. Maybe you are correct. Maybe batteries will continue to rule the day, however, in addition to the concerns I listed out -- there are others. Lithium batteries are improving but they seem to be pretty finicky requiring constant attention. However one cannot ignore that Tesla has staked their future on the lithium battery seeing that they are opening a plant to increase battery availability. I am certain hydrogen fuel cells also have their issues which needs to be addressed. For example, cost is a big concern. I plan on sifting through past post at this site regarding the pros and cons. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can chime in.
I personally find is hard to believe that walmart, sysco, qfc, bmw, fedex, etc., are going with this technology because it's green friendly.
cooler
You missed a couple regarding batteries:
1) More than several hours to recharge
2) Swapping out batteries is time consuming (down time).
3) Half the range of a hydrogen fuel cell
4) Storage of replacement batteries (takes up a lot of valuable space).
5) Large battery charging rooms
6) Batteries in storage needs to be constantly monitored and charged.
7) Sulfation
8) Corrosion
9) Explosion from overcharging
10)Lose approximately 14% of their speed over the last half of the battery charge (GenDrive fuel cells maintain constant power at all times).

rth, thanks for the correction. Just the tip of the iceberg!

vinnybotz, 15 cents to go for the 8.5 dollar mark. And the volume is an ALL time high!
cooler
and on big volume. Our biggest volume was on Jan 7th at 122 million and March 4th at 121 million shares. With 15 minutes to go we are 3 million shares shy of record volume all time high. At $8.22 looks like we will have a strong finish for the day.
cooler
I wish I was that rich. Maybe in a year from now I will take you up on that offer!
uksausage, I too am most interested in their current and immediate future capacity. If there are 6 million fork lifts out there and they have already secured 1% of the market (somewhere I heard they have sold 6000 -- right?) then could they handle another Walmart like order? Hopefully this will be covered at the March 13 cc.
Trying to pick up some more shares at 12.5 cents. When I was placing my bid at my ML account I typed in 12.5 dollars! Fortunately, this stock requires a "SafePass" card which slows down the transaction and in this case saved my fanny. I could only imagine the conversation I would have had with my wife (and bank) if that order had gone through. LOL

doogdilinger, I started teaching my 10 year old daughter about investing a year ago. From an educational perspective, it's worked out like a charm. This company looks very solid and a lot of room to grow. I personally believe this stock, over the next 3-5 years, will bring me a six digit return.
cooler
They also keep mentioning that it's up 4000% year to date. Wish I was here a year ago! Okay, I am only up 225%.
cooler
Andy Marsh also said there are 14 hydrogen station in the US and PLUG is currently building 45 stations. Toyota and Honda are rolling out hydrogen fuel cell cars in 2015!

What a day for PLUG!
Couch, I appreciate this, "Buy on dips." I am guessing there are a lot of "quiet" folks in the background here taking this advice. Personally, I would love to see this dip to half a dollar (or lower) since I would like more shares. On the flip side, I certainly don't wish the 10 cents and under club any apprehensive moments. Nah, I take that back! I figure if you were crazy enough to buy this under 10 cents over a 2 year period with essentially no upward movement -- well, then nothing is going to phase this crowd. Your actions are either tenacious or outright utterly delusional. I think we will find out soon!

Very nice!

Near the end of my lunch break and finally I made it through today's post. Crazy. Absolutely crazy. I recently purchased my shares at .68, .70 and .73 and then decided that I would only buy if it goes down. Oh hell, that's not going to happen! Only have 10,000 shares but to be honest I am content with this. No more purchases and I plan on holding for a long time. Hope to see that $1 tomorrow mark tomorrow.

I was training for the 2014 LA marathon for over a year and then broke my hand playing soccer 2 months back. I have run this marathon and others on more than several occasions. I strongly recommend, if you haven't already, look at the elevation map posted at the LA site. It's a net downhill course but by no means an easy one. The undulating hills take a toll on most so they are unable to take advantage of the last 2.7 miles which is ~1.7% downhill.

vinnybotz, at 64 million shares traded right now, is volume going to be above 100 mil? Certainly some big players. Now if only Warren Buffett would step in. I can only dream what would happen.

uksausage, yep you got it. It has to be a combination of two points you made today:
1) leaked information
2) institutional buyer(s) acting on this
And then to boot, now that we are above $5 so other institutions can join in.
