It's a simple matter of perspective and common sense regarding the business cycle. Companies in the beginnings of a rollout experience a much higher expense % than those with established channels. Kind of like calculating how much lumber you'll get by looking at the seedling instead of the tree.
Extrapolating those kind of numbers during the birthing stages of a rollout seems a bit careless IMO. Why not wait until their business model gains some traction?
Can someone send APD a cape with "POS" on it for Easter?
Doc, thanks for your time and $ expended in your efforts today, and most of all thanks for sharing!
OT: Perhaps an assortment of anti-anxiety pills? DR. MIKE, PAGING DR. MIKE.
What do you think they've been doing? Sheesh they've bought and closed on 4 companies, with a 5th about to close in Q1 alone. IMO you've put way too many present tense arguements in play. I don't think anyone has they NEOM is NOW a supercompany, but that they were BECOMING one. The market thinks it's worth $.33 cents right now. Folks who think it's worth more should buy, if less should sell. It's really quite simple.
I'll be the first to admit that I have to re-evaluate my timeline and goals with this company when I get impatient. Part of me wants a quick strike, but that's rarely reality. Good wines just like good companies take time to reach their potential.
It amazes me sometimes watching the pot calling the kettle black on this board. Logical, non redundant, not addressed before concerns are usually dealt with respect here. But the opinions of folks with a VESTED interest in what they think (clearly and obviously their OPINION) are shamed by some in the same breadth that they give what appears to be an non-vested opinion to the negative. If they were VESTED then their stance / investment just doesn't reconcile itself. Knowing what one owns, hating it, and holding it? I think most here know better.
Boy I was off on that one. Claw, can you or someone else with an IP perspective comment on the news today and the Loyaltypoint patents?
This announcement seems to concern search and not navigation. I thought NEOM only covered navigation and not a search based result based upon location via zip/area code, or gps.
The results from the acquisitions will not be in the latest filings as they took place Q1 06. The latest filing will be Q4 05. I am wondering though if management will comment on Q1 with the release.
So many managers and CEO's miss that crucial part of an effective organization. Sweatshops only concerned with this month's / quarter's profit usually end up paying for it dearly down the road. Building a top notch team includes making everyone a part of the process and appreciated. I've worked in the former, and created the later. It's amazing what a true team can do together, and the hoops they can jump through feeling like they work with family. Another huge plus for NEOM.
figuratively, literally, and in every sense of the word
I thought he was here studying a pump and dump, now it's a patent troll. I think he's really a troll dumping.
My SWAG would be 20% of what it could achieve on a global basis.
granted, but some here pine about paint being a part of the pie. IMO pie isn't pie without all the ingredients. I think we'll be in awe of all of NEOM's recipe when the oven bell rings.
Paint may be boring, but it's tangible and much easier to put a value on, spot on comments.
JP indicated that the go window went thru Verisign SSL or other type of security before going to the end site.
As a private concern does anyone know what Enpocket's revenues / profit numbers are compared to MQube's?
Let's hope the BSDS acquisition chapter is finally closed, this bread has been in the oven way too long.
$250 million probably explains why NEOM didn't approach them.
And just a little over $1 gets us to a big enough market cap to be mentioned on Bulls and Bears.
Amen, a good gumbo is made up of many different ingredients.
OK, sorry for the stupid Q, but can NEOM setup a new equity partner this way without having to annouce anything if the new partner has a deal thru Cornell? Just wondering if that's how they can let another player in w/o leaking and exploding the PPS before they get in.
IMO 10Q will be disappointing and along the lines of the others from last year. No major activity during Q4 to change anything. Q1 06 released in Q2 will be the turn in the trend FWIW.
Chartist, I think you just described the different investors here on the board. Some look at the short term movement and cheer or fret, some such as yourself appear to be taking a TA approach to their in's and out's (frequently or infrequently), and some, such as myself and others don't care about today, tomorrow, next week, next month, and just a little about next quarter. It's an all or nothing game and we're fine with it. Second guessing entry and exit points with that type of horizon just doesn't make sense to some of us (not that there's anything wrong with it) and if we lose it all, some of us went in with that expectation. It's truly a major risk vs. even bigger rewards scenario.
Different strokes for different folks. What's wrong or amazing to others is perfectly within other's risk tolerance. We'll either get killed or enjoy our rewards for being early and holding pat. We're fine with all of that, even if some think we're not.
What shell is this related to? I had thought that the BSDS deal had NEOM acquiring stock, that doesn't necessarily leave a shell behind.
Using a shell from another party IMO is not a good way to go. Too many possible skeletons in the closet that one may not know about.
Would you be so kind as to share?
I think this has more to do with the pipeline than navigation.
Also, that has no bearing on royalties either. A willing buyer/seller establishes license fees. I've been involved with numerous patents from an estate standpoint, and when the market is not "present" an appraiser is not going to speculate as we have done in purchasing stock in the company. This is no different than purchasing a tract of land 10 years out with the expectation that a major road will be coming thru eventually.
Well one thing's for certain, it'll be in the numbers sooner or later.
LOL, Funny, funnier if you got an answer back.
Didn't someone post earlier that the BSDS guy was out of this office?
"if an appraiser says that patents worth 2 million dollars, you are limited as to how much you can charge in license fees"
What the heck are you talking about?
While you are right about not making 100% profit on the sales, I think the 10-20% number is unrealistic as well. If it's an exclusive proprietary process that saves the end user a significant amount of money, the markup would seem to be higher. You are comparing distributing a commodity vs. a markedly improved process.
I think he'll be our "Man of the Year" this year.
With all due respect, your comments seem to indicate that you have no clue what this market is about. I suppose NewsCorp, Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, and the hundreds if not thousands of industry press on this are all wrong. Bandwidth and marketing are two different things. One is a commodity play, one is not.
Also, NEOM is in permission based marketing, not junk mail. It's only junk if you don't request it in the first place. If you honestly think NEOM is in the business of sending unsolicited coupons via a cell phone I think you need to do a tad more research.
For a good head start, research what the market is in Europe alone. Buggywhip salesmen went out of business too, what's your point?

RE: WHO'S YOUR DADDY?!?
OT: You don't listen very well.
As soon as we get a 500 million market cap he can mention it on the show.
OT: Yes, it's the "EGAOCMPAMA" theory, lol. Interesting concept to overcome the Walmart affect on mom and pop stores. Never really thought about distribution in that way, putting entire portions of the store in a one stop drop.
Also well in play here, with our emerging supercompany encompassing multiple access points. Even better than getting them as customers, buy 'em and make $ on the full spectrum, leaving other "enablers" in the proverbial dust.
SOG, you're a trip, LV is going to be fun!
Perhaps we go nuclear by then?
