Oh my my, DXY below 90. I'm inclined to bet this is just an overreaction before tomorrow's ECB meeting. I sold JDST for $49 yesterday PM (too early, I know). I would buy again today and again if gold hits $1375.
Does anyone go long at this point? What are your technical/fundamental premises?
PS. I can't trade again! It seems US brokers work differently from European ones and I can't day trade freely on a cash account, lol!
I pasted some links just a few posts ago.
Too soon...
Grabbed some $21.9 just for a flip.
I use TradingView https://www.tradingview.com/chart/?symbol=NYMEX:NG2!
I can't see an interactive chart on investing.com, but there's a list of contracts with basic charts: https://www.investing.com/commodities/natural-gas-contracts
There's of course Yahoo: https://finance.yahoo.com/chart/NGH18.NYM
All of those are delayed. I have a paid account on TradingView but real-time NYMEX futures quotes are quite pricey! :(
Yeah, DGAZ is 100% March already (http://www.velocitysharesetns.com/dgaz). I was also confused by the charts posted here.
Ahh, you're right, I forgot about this... Thanks! It's a miracle I made some money today.
Anyone cares to explain it to me how is DGAZ higher today and so are NG futures?
The shutdown is over. Gold just minimally lower.
Back in JDST $48.
In hindsight, I'll stick to taking profits. What a nasty beast!
In hindsight, I'll stick to taking profits.
I had to leave home and I left stop loss at $47.5 so it filled of course. I bought DGAZ $22 and didn't put a stop loss so it lost almost all of the gains. I'm a trader of the year! *facepalm*
I bought this $22 PM. I usually sell too soon. This time I'll wait at least until tomorrow or when NG hits $3.
I bought some $46.5 JDST PM. Not happy I missed 44.x yesterday, I would feel much more confident with it. But I'm able to trade again!
Sorry, I don't buy such news. I can believe in money running from bonds (MUCH larger market) and elevating gold at some point. Not from Bitcoin, not from coin sellers.
It seems I'm missing my boat in DUST/JDST. Still waiting for funds :(
These are 3x ETF of a volatile commodity. If someone holds this for 24 months then he/she is a complete moron and deserves to lose all money like Bitcoin HODLers. You buy DGAZ/UGAZ for a few days or a bit longer if you REALLY think it'll bounce and you can average down with small portion of your money.

De-escalation. Bad for gold but no reaction so far.
Ouch!
Damn, DGAZ under $22 and I'm waiting for funds transfer...
Toppy, everyone has their opinion. Investing off this site is always dangerous, and ignoring good advice to be verified is not wise either.
Let's take a look at gold on weekly and monthly.
So, for me, gold has begun another bull run long-term but will it go ballistic as some people expect? I don't know. I said it before and I'll repeat. I have LOTS of UGLD and physical but I'm cautious with 3x miners' ETFs and I won't bet on gold going straight up using them. Yes, 2016 was nice, but let's be careful.
As always :)
If someone argued that Bitcoin is stealing gold's money then now should expect gold to rise as BTC loses 20% today ;). The bubble is bursting. Just wait when it gets below $7000.
Gold looks toppish for me short-term. Miners easily go red (moderately) even when gold is just consolidating.
On the other hand, stocks going down this week could push gold to 2016 high.
Congrats, probably the best time. Did you end up green? JNUG gained > %50 since December so that should cover your loses.
Always makes me laugh how many "to da moon" people appear each time gold goes north of $1300 :D. And they always expect fireworks.
It's been a great ride since the last rate hike. Gold needs to cool down a little bit, pull back or at least consolidate here for some time.
Easy, it's not Bitcoin ;) Let's see how it unfolds. Still in uptrend.
Gold lost in EUR and CHF and gained only in USD last week. DXY broke below 91 and it's possible we're going to see a flush in $ but I don't think it'll be that simple.
At this pace, gold's going to hit $1375 (2016 high) in two days. It's also a "little bit" above 50 & 200 SMA.
But... maybe S&P 500 will get a due 10% correction, in effect pushing gold higher.
I'll reevaluate tomorrow. Still waiting for funds to reach my new broker.
Good thing I was on vacation last week. Managed to sell JDST $54.12 and only because my broker pissed me off and I wanted to transfer funds to the other. I didn't expect another leg up. I'll be loading DUST/JDST tomorrow.
LOL spot gold closing exactly at $1320 so that you wouldn't have a clue what's going to happen next week.
I'm impressed with gold's strength.
Ah, yes, I forgot to check the calendar. Still holding JDST. Looking for a new broker.
Gold gettin' bid when US market opens lately. Can you imagine that? ;)
Correction from $1320 would seem "natural" but bulls are fighting hard.
Yeah, there are people showing up here from time to time spewing such nonsense. I've heard about "muslims" buying gold (as if they couldn't do it before, LOL!), Chinese peasants buying physical gold, USD going to 0 next week, Bitcoin making gold obsolete, Chinese gold exchange, and so on and so forth...
None of this had the mildest impact on gold and never will. Sharks on COMEX dictate the price until the new monetary system comes along. When's that? Nobody knows.
Check sticky notes in the DGAZ board.
Congrats! I nibbled some JDST at $48.2.
Gold rockin' in 2018! Straight line since the rate hike. Loading on DUST today.
Massive gap up in NG. Maybe we'll get a chance to buy DGAZ in low $24 or even below $24. Perfect!
