Right now I would invest in the one with movement!

This news puts the possibility of getting Dupont to sign with NEOM and kills the idea to sue the 3rd party for not licensing or infringement.

iPhone Speed Trap App Goes Free With Launch of Location Based Ad Engine
Portland, OR Jul 01, 2009 in iPhone
[prMac.com] Portland, Oregon - Njection LLC, the maker of Njection Mobile (NMobile), their worldwide speed trap notification system for iPhone 3G, is releasing version 1.1.3 for free before the 4th of July weekend. In addition, Njection is releasing a Ad Placement engine that uses GPS to display discounts and coupons from local "Brick and Mortar" stores. This will allow them to compete for business with a lower entry cost than traditional advertising means.
Designed specifically to take advantage of the 3G's unique abilities and interface users can be alerted to coupons and discounts in their vicinity. This will give the option to consumers to rate and choose between buying online or from a local "Brick and Mortar" store that may have a lower price. The benefit is having something that they wanted to have in hand within minutes rather than days.
Store are now able to create a coupon and upload the locations of their stores. Bar codes can be used to scan their iPhone coupons to take advantage of offers from companies. Stores that would like to sign up and participate can do so for free. Signing up will allow companies to upload store locations and have them geocoded for use with Njection Mobile. Companies and business with coupon offering can be attached to any participating store and store locations for a fee. The Njection Mobile iPhone update that will include the ad engine will be available July 20th, 2009.
Coupons added to Njection Mobile's Ad Engine have two hard requirements:
1) The store most have a "Brick and Mortar" location for geocoding and so that users can get what they want immediately.
2) There must be a discount included in the offering. This will make it more enticing for users to take advantage of the stores offering and drive customers to the store.
Designed specifically to take advantage of the 3G's unique abilities and interface, NMobile was built from the ground up for drivers so they can be notified to the location of speed traps, red light cameras, and speed detection devices. With the addition of the ad engine, Njection Mobile will build itself as a one stop app for saving money in more ways than one.

Kiosks to Help Trace Baggage

One example of this, he said, is the baggage-tracing kiosk, to be rolled out later this year. SITA in June demonstrated the unit, which will allow passengers to scan the bar codes on their luggage tags to learn the exact location of their bags. SITA says the device should allow travelers to report missing bags in less than two minutes. Today, it takes on average 45 minutes to report lost bags to an agent, according to SITA.
Widely Used Software
Software from SITA is widely used in the computer systems that read those bar codes and route bags. SITA and the International Air Transport Association, a global trade group, have been working recently to reduce the number of lost and delayed bags—a problem that infuriates passengers and costs airlines almost $3 billion in 2008, according to SITA.
The IATA said Tuesday that its members posted a net loss of more than $3 billion in the first three months of this year. IATA predicted carriers will lose $9 billion for the whole year. IATA and SITA have been cooperating to cut their members’ costs by simplifying operations in airlines and at airports.
SIDE NOTE: Gavitec has partnered with many major companies (HP, Unisys SITA, IATA, Vodafone, Siemens Business Services ,...). Gavitec's Lavasphere is the key component of HP's Glass reader (Activeprint project). Gavitec has a strong partnership with HP. That's probably the reason why HP and Gavitec decided to create the MC2 in January 2007.

All SIM cards required to be registered
Published:Jun 30, 2009
All cellphone SIM cards will have to be registered in terms of legislation coming into effect on Wednesday.
The Regulation of Interception of Communications and Provision of Communication-Related Information Amendment Act (Rica) aims to help law enforcement agencies investigate and combat serious crime, Justice Minister Jeff Radebe said on Tuesday.
It would ensure that the identity and whereabouts of the owner of a SIM card who uses a cellphone in planning and executing a serious crime was known, he told a media briefing at Parliament.
WHAT IF SOMEONE STOLE YOUR PHONE. COMMITTED A CRIME AND LEFT YOUR PHONE THERE WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE? ARE YOU GOING TO THE SLAMMER?
Cellphone service providers would, from July 1, be prohibited from activating a new SIM card unless they had captured the customer’s cell number, full names, identity number and address, and verified the information.
In a joint statement later on Tuesday, MTN, Cell C and Vodacom said all cellphone subscribers, both prepaid and contract, would be required to show proof of identity as well as present a utility bill to show proof of residence to be registered.
Customers would have 18 months from implementation date to register both their prepaid and contract SIM cards.
SIM cards of subscribers failing to comply within the specified time period would have their cards deactivated.
When registering, customers would need to have with them their cellphone number, full names and surname, and ID number or passport number.
Proof of identity should be provided by a green barcoded ID document, an ID card, temporary ID certificate, or passport.
Proof of physical address would be by means of any document that included one’s name and residential address, such as a bank statement, municipal rates, cellphone or retail account not older than 3 months, existing lease, rental or credit agreement, insurance policy, current TV or motor vehicle licence.
Those in an informal residence should provide the address of a school or church closest to the area in which they lived.
Registration should be done in person.
Cell C customers could register at all Cell C franchise stores or at stores where they saw a Rica sign, MTN customers at all MTN’s services centres across the country, and Vodacom customers at any Vodacom outlet.
All information would be kept confidential in a secure database.

Atlanta - Innovative French company and European 2D mobile barcode leader, Mobile Tag, announces today that its Datamatrix embedded software application mobiletag, that allows mobile phones to read 2D barcodes simply by using the phone's camera to provide quick access to external content such as movie trailers or promotional information, is now downloadable on the Android Market for GPhones, and on the BlackBerry App Store.
The solution that was launched for all other mobile phones back in 2006 is now ready to be deployed on these smart phones and can now be downloaded for free via Android Market or BlackBerry App Store.
"Mobile Tag is a company that constantly tries to stay one step ahead of the trends, closely following new hardware launches, which explains why we have adapted our mobiletag solution to ensure that a version compatible with smart phones such as the GPhones or BlackBerry is available for our customers as of today," comments Christian François Viala, Marketing and Communication Director at Mobile Tag.
GPhones
"Using the mobiletag software on the new GPhones from Google will give our users faster direct access to the Internet when they shoot a tag to obtain external content," continues Mr. Viala. "The main difference when using mobiletag on the GPhones will be that rather than using the phone's camera to take a snap shot of the 2D barcode, users will need to use their phones in video mode instead".
BlackBerry
As for the GPhones, mobiletag for the BlackBerry Bold will also need to be used in video mode - saving time (as no snap shot needs to be captured) and offering an easier and more user-friendly interface. For all other BlackBerry models, the solution operates in its traditional snap shot mode.
About Mobile Tag, mobiletag & MEEPASS
Innovative French company, Mobile Tag is a leading software developer specialising in mobile handset software solutions. Mobile Tag has two main products: mobiletag and MEEPASS. It also added an NFC tag management server to its portfolio.
In 2006, the company launched mobiletag, an embedded software application that allows mobile phones to read 2D barcodes, otherwise known as tags, simply by using the phone's camera. Mobile Tag developed the software to create quick access to external content.
Mobile Tag received a venture capital investment of 4 million euros in October 2008, funded by new lead investor Alven Capital and by existing shareholders (XangeCapital and IDF Capital). This capital increase will allow mobiletag to pursue its international growth strategy in the market of 2D barcodes. mobiletag has already established business partnerships with the major French and European mobile network Operators and is in negotiation today with international brands.
Mobile Tag SAS has established a Delaware Corporation, Mobile Tag, Inc. which is headquartered in Atlanta, GA. Mobile Tag, Inc. is focused on North American Mobile Operators and Brands with the same proven MEEPASS and mobiletag technology and services.
In addition to mobiletag, Mobile Tag is pleased to announce the launch of MEEPASS, a revolutionary new mobile identification product that the company showcased at this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The Apple iPhone 3GS launched this week, and with every new generation of smart phone released, the world takes a step closer to ubiquitous mobile marketing.
Mobile phones (particularly web-enabled mobiles) will increasingly be used by clever merchants to attract and communicate directly with customers while shopping. And who hasn’t got a mobile? In April last year, the number of mobile phones in service exceeded Australia’s population for the first time.
According to the US publication Advertising Age, nearly a third of UK shoppers with mobile phones used them while shopping. 65% of those people sought an opinion about a product while out and about, and that opinion often encouraged them to buy the product in question. (If that sounds far-fetched, haven’t you ever phoned home from a DVD/video store to check the selection with a partner or family-member?)
This trend will only increase. In a recent presentation by Ian Jindal, the publisher of Internet Retailing in the UK, he recalled shopping for a child’s coat with his twin daughters in tow. Unable to make a decision, Jindal took a shot of one daughter in the coat and sent the pic immediately to his wife who was at home. She gave the nod of approval and price checked the item via the web to make sure Jindal was getting a good deal.
Of course smart phones eliminate the need to ask someone with a PC to search the web, because you can Google on the go. Newer mobiles are even incorporating bar code scanners – in the future, you may be able to scan the code on a product to automatically make an accurate price comparison.
So whether you like it or not, more and more customers will be using their mobiles while shopping. The challenge is to positively influence their purchase behaviour while they’re at it.
I saw four relevant examples of mobile marketing while overseas recently with the Westfield World Retail Study Tour:
* In the window of a PacSun store in a US shopping mall, there was an invitation to text “swim” to a number in order to get $10 off instantly. Not a bad simple traffic driver.
* BT in the UK were demonstrating a “tap and save” system, where customers could touch their mobiles against a sign (either in a store window or in outdoor posters) to receive an offer immediately.
* A supermarket in Tokyo was using QR codes on selected vegetables. Scan the code and the customer is connected instantly to a website showing the origins and the grower of the fresh item in question. In food-safety obsessed Japan, this technique resulted in a 30% uplift in sales on QR-coded products.
Mobile marketing will become more popular and it will get more sophisticated as time goes by. Advertising Age cites a system called “Aislecaster”, able to narrowcast a promotional offer to a customer within a 1m range. AdAge also suggests that in the future customers may be able to point their phone at an item and have it instantly uploaded to a social networking site where friends (or the world) can vote on whether you should buy or not.
Back in Australia, Hoyts is already utilising what they call “Bluezones” to supply customers who opt in with content and offers while waiting in the foyer.
The possibilities for mobile marketing are endless. Seize the opportunity...or your competitors will.
Jon Bird is CEO of specialist retail marketing agency, IdeaWorks. Email: jon.bird@ideaworks.com.au, web: www.ideaworks.com.au, Twitter: http://twitter.com/birdideaworks.
* A Gap store in Tokyo featured a mobile campaign with a QR (or quick response) code. Scan the code and get a voucher on your phone for 10% off. Another example of a traffic driver.

Weird images on real estate billboards take customers to online information
watch the video. click the link
Online Real Estate company Open2View.com has launched QR Codes, codes that automatically connect potential customers with virtual property tours and other information online.
I LOOK AT THIS COMPANY AS LICENSEE. REMEMBER THE CLEAR CHANNEL NEOMEDIA PR?
QR Codes, a two-dimensional bar code originally created by Japanese automotive components manufacturer Denso-Wave in 1994, are odd looking pictures appearing on Open2View.com real estate billboards nationwide.
Standing for quick response, the QR Codes at Open2View.com connect people to information online at the click of a button, in this instance the camera on their mobile phone, says Open2View.com managing director Chris Bates.
A customer can walk past a house or read a brochure and snap a picture of the QR code to get transported to a website with a virtual tour, Bates says. Taking a photo of a QR Code prompts reader software to scan the image and then launches the phone’s browser directly to a programmed URL.
Bates says most new 3G phones sold in New Zealand in the past year come with a QR Code reader or can download one from the internet to decipher the codes.
Ultimately every Open2View.com property will have a code and they will appear in all the traditional Real Estate marketing materials, including print advertising, window cards and flyers, he says.

Mobile ticketing, however, remains a challenge for all within the live music sector, admits Ward. "We've done trials and some sections of The O2 are accessed via shortcodes and barcodes. But for this to work we need all stakeholders in the value chain to be engaged and to invest in its back-end management. That's not there yet, but it will come."

Looking for information on how your federal stimulus dollars are being spent in Hennepin County? Get out your camera phone and snap a picture.
The county's plan to inform residents about funding received and spent through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act includes a website, press releases and "Quick Response" -- technology that allows anyone to take a camera-phone picture at a project site and get instant information about how stimulus dollars are at work.
Under the program unveiled Thursday, signs will be posted at project sites with bar codes that can be read by most mobile camera phones with Internet capability. Once the camera captures an image of the bar code, information can be accessed over the phone's Web browser in a matter of seconds.
"It's a way to get more information to people than we could've on a poster," said Phil Eckhert, the county's stimulus funds coordinator. "Our mission is to have information readily available and easy to use for the public so they can find out what's happening with their tax dollars."
The first bar-coded signs were provided to North Point Health and Wellness Center, a major provider in north Minneapolis.
Stimulus dollars are being used at the clinic to hire additional practitioners and expand hours because of an increasing number of uninsured patients.
"This technology is an excellent way of making people aware that there are stimulus dollars at work in their community," said North Point's director, Stella Whitney-West. "The best way to get a better understanding of what the administration is trying to do is to actually see the projects, get the information and ask questions."
If the technology proves to be helpful, the county will consider expanding its use in other ways -- for example, to provide information about library services, Eckhert said.
The public outreach plan also includes a website -- www.hennepin.us/recovery -- designed to provide "transparency" about stimulus funding Hennepin County receives.
The site will serve as a "one-stop" information location with data on each county project that is getting funding.
Clickable entry points on a map will take users to data for each project, including a description, funds received, jobs created and completion status.
Users also can subscribe to receive e-mail updates on individual projects.
Within a few weeks, the website will include a countywide map of all projects and some video. Information will be updated as more projects are awarded stimulus funds.
On Thursday, the County Board also got an update about stimulus money the county has received.
The latest total of funds awarded so far was $33.6 million.
The county will apply to receive an additional $3.6 million for existing programs and $173.9 million for new projects, such as $30.6 million for the expansion of Hennepin County Medical Center's Primary Care Clinic.
