this day, along with the recent dismal pattern for ariad as of late, has pretty much sealed the deal, with what to expect from this weekend...a lot of future possibilities of fluff.
and although i don't doubt that one day that fluff will become a reality, at the current now the company is just simply full of fluff. also, a company that seems to be bullied by the market, which also reflects how it perceives its leadership ( with the "harv" standing at the helm ), as a somewhat deceitful, amateurish blow hole.
so let me be the first of the posters, to post after this weekends presentations from ariad...wow, if those indications pan out, ariad could be worth billions upon billions!
results of ariads presentation will already be out to the investors that matter...the investors that move stock prices...no planned presentation will ever be kept a total secret, when theres money involved...i am sure that even "the great and powerful harv", is contributing info to those investors...its another form of manipulation, that seems to be the current rave on "the great and powerful board of messages".
its somewhat amazing as to the immediate effect the manipulation of their words seem have on the share price. forget about the MDs, or posters from any board who share their positive knowledge of ariads science. even the harvs words of optimism and confidents with ariads products, can be a mute point. for the moment, we clearly see who is in control on wall street.
this could just be a blip to the upside, compared to its true heights
A serious question. Can someone please tell me, why historicaly a company such as ariad, has a difficult time eclipsing the 200 dma? Why not say, the 300 dma? to me, its just another number. One that should be easy to eclipse, given the right circumstances.
To think those realities about ariad, could realistically be coming to fruition...wow
Being ahead by six months is quite a big deal, in so many different aspects for ariads success.
i hope you are correct. but the post to which i am replying to, clearly demonstrates caution in your assumptions and statements.
Again, you are correct! But in my opinion, i feel ariad should have more respect from the market, than it does. Could that discrepancy be coming from harvey leading the helm? Just saying.
Not true! Don't get me wrong! I believe harvey has done a good job. But I can't stop feeling that maybe he excels more as an m.d./scientist, than a SAVY ceo. Although, he did do a great job with merck, by being deceitful. which I guess a savy ceo should be.
I stated the facts that I have been a part of. Its not always sunny in philadelphia!
So true ghf. Can seem difficult to have resonable discussions about concerns one might have with the company that our money is invested in, without the occasional "mister its my way or the highway" attitude From some posters.
True. He does seem to try and pull off more than he can chew. Somewhat of a control freak.
That he may very well excel at. But overall, I feel any reputable ceo could be pulling off what HB (the ceo) has accomplised thus far, with even more conviction. Remember, he has also shown to be somewhat deceitful. Something the market is well aware of.
I believe it was the science that got us those returns. Harvey as a ceo (not as m.d.), has been mediocre at best.
thanks for the correction and thank you for understanding what i have acknowledged about HB. a slight concern of mine as a long investor, towards the future potential for ariad.
interesting how posters responded to my mentioning on how there is obvious manipulation with the stock price. however, no one has mentioned my comments towards how HB might also be affecting the stock price. After all, it was mostly focused on his actions. btw, didn't dell recently jump in share price upon the ceo's announcement of stepping down?
unfortunately, your post makes sense. funny how there is such uncertainty in which direction the price will go from this point. after all, didn't the great HB claim about 5 months ago, that if the market only knew what he knows, they would be buyers instead of sellers? well, he has been a steady seller since making those comments. Kudos harv! i do not believe the eradic price action this past year has anything to do with ariads science, but partly due to market manipulation, and to the mediocre at best ceo. HB may have exceptional skills as a physician or scientist, but as a ceo he can come across as a little deceitful. Don't agree? just ask merck!
Market collapse? No biggie for ariad longs. we've built a tolerance for such things, this past year.
although i haven't bought any extra shares for a while (bills, etc.), it seems you and i have similar strategies to hold, and hopefully one day in the near future, have the price target meet our expectations for a departure.
Well if novartis or any other pharma needs to pull that crap to keep ariad down, they should just pony up the cash and straight up...Buy them out!!!
If facts about ariads drugs potential start to reveal themselves by years end, as some on this board would suggest, I can't understand why harvey could not wait one more year to start selling his shares. The possible data after 2013 would outweigh even the chairmans decision to sell his shares. After all these years, why start selling during a period of uncertainty?
but you think that has been his intention all along? or should he have waited 1 more year to start selling his shares, with what he knows?
if thats the case with these apparent methods, did you think it wise for harvey to start selling his shares during a time when the stock could be so easily manipulated? If he had started selling exactly one year later, he should have the knowledge to recognize that the stock could very well be less manipulated, when the results of trials start to show success.
He's sure learned how to smile as he .....!
Getting hosed? Mate, thats been happening since december. for a long, the stock tanking, is just another day....its just another daaaaaay!....so sad...so sad
Had no problem with the fool's article today. It had facts and was more directed at the present, with some ifs sprinkled on. They seem to be hedging their future aassessment of ariad in either direction.
thoughtful post, with a different outcome to consider.
I would really like to have my doubts squashed by a HB sighting, acompanied by short squashing news.
that would be fine! just hope it comes from him soon!
sure!...wonder what he's doing now?...
as the ceo of ariad, i would like to think HB will acknowledge the on going activity with the share price, sooner rather than later. if to reassure shareholders that its not all about the shorts, that have been in control.
as good a guess as any!
Sure those catalysts may temporary raise the share price, but can they stabilize it?
Unless we have an unexpected buy out or partnering bid by year's end, I really don't know when or what piece of good news ariad can present, to raise and stabilize the price, at this ppoint.
Pretty amazing isn't it? How we've missed opportunities not knowing how, or even not wanting to short this stock the past year.
Hopefully in the not to distant future, would be nice for all true longs to still be around and witness a share price that can no longer be bullied.
5 out of the last 6 days down. I think we're due for a close in the positive.
Has to be later...sooner occured a while ago...
great! btw, enjoy yourself while your abroad! hopefully ariad will have an unexpected surprise waiting for you when you return.
