Have no idea. But LQMT is in the perfect position for a buy out. All they have is patents, with the link to APPLE. Their value is the patents. But what happens to the LLC holding company if a buy out is possible. And what happens to those 300 Million un issued shares during a bidding war or buy out. Do they become part of it or do they become meaningless. Materion only has 20 million shares out..and 1.2 Billion in Revenue....hmmmm. That could really shoot the PPS of MTRN up....
Yes, it boggles the mind. What if Materion had LQMT's technology. Its already becoming a behemoth of a company. I did think maybe the LQMT management may have wanted to approve enough shares, so they would never have to be bothered with the process again. As someone pointed out, some of the phraseology indicated they wanted less interference of stockholders. I don't know much about competing technologies, but with the patents LQMT has, and the ones they have in for approval...they must know, they are sitting on top of the mountain, it seems, on a metal that outperforms any other, and can be used just about anywhere. Steipps mention of "Billion$" doesn't seem to be an exaggeration. Who knows what other configurations of the metal have been put in for patent..
along with patents to configure it...the "sheet" patent was a blockbuster..."what if" other breakthroughs now allow those sheets to be made into any type configuration.
This weekend. We can all speculate on what's coming. Especially about the 200 Million shares just added. An amazing number. Shocking to say the least, but what does it all mean?? Did some huge company come tapping on their door for a buy out?? Did it frighten them so much, they decided they needed a "poison pill" to stop it??? Now someone looks more closely at the submission to discover they seem to want MORE control over these shares, without interference of stockholders. Could they be so devious as to start handing themselves huge chunks of shares before retirement?? What good would that do, if they thought the company was going nowhere, and the 200 Million shares would surely sink the stock to "non recovery"?? Does not compute..does not seem logical. Hopefully not.
OR, is something very big coming, that would require a stock exchange. Buy out?? Becoming a subsidiary of another company?? And then, wouldn't we have expected a massive decline in the PPS yesterday?? It only fell 10%. With a massive addition/dilution of shares, shouldn't it have dropped
MUCH more than that??? They just paid off their debt, cleaned up the books. Would that be a requirement for a buy out?? But then why the needed shares?? And then the patents..so many patents..and the last two we found out about..the "sheets" and the "foam"..I'm sure both of those shocked everyone..totally unexpected. Does LQMT now have control of a metal that the WHOLE WORLD will want?? It seems so. Has Materion/APPLE/Engel developed the processes to make just about anything with it?? WOW...think of the possibilities. Did LQMT just give us a hint of something most wonderful coming?? or something most horrible??
ENJOY THE RIDE....GLL.
If they can get the PPS to $5, I don't care what they pay themselves.
News came out about 200 million share dilution....the market was "red" and LQMT only fell 10%, probably those selling were those expecting a big sell off, and for all intent, it should have plunged drastically.....but it didn't happen...either word didn't get out...
or there are a lot of people that have a good idea what the dilution means...or want to take the risk to be in the stock for when we find out what it means...GLL.
Not even close to what some were predicting.
Please, lets not start that kind of talk. We still don't know what the dilution is all about...and as one can see...there wasn't a big plunge in the PPS today...Now you all have all weekend to speculate on whether something wonderful is around the corner, or a deep pit of despair. I'm going to concentrate on the idea that there is a very good reason for the 200 Million shares...and all those holding shares will be doing the "HAPPY DANCE" next week.
Yes, stepping back and considering the properties of the metal...and the recent patents that were found...and 50 more patents in for approval that no one has any idea what they are...this metal..is as Steipp has said..worth MANY BILLIONS...the uses are beyond imagination. But as you said...some finally may be getting the idea. GLL.
What's LUNACY is the 200 Million shares...now we can spend time figuring out what caused it.
Is it a stock transfer for a buy of some company?? Or to be bought by some company?? Or to become a subsidiary of a company?? Materion??? I'm just having fun throwing out possibilities. Whatever it is, I can't see it taking very long before we're all let in on the secret.
Well, for those that were getting bored with the stock, this certainly has changed things. Good luck to us all for whatever is going on. Its got to be big. Speculative scenarios are welcome. What could be happening that would cause 200 Million more shares?? All I can guess is a chance of a hostile take over and this was as someone suggested..a poison pill. OR great news is about to be revealed and they wanted to put more shares out...to pay for development to meet a huge contract?? I have NO IDEA.....may as well HYPE it, until we know..better than gloom and doom before we know the facts.
"Makes think back to the video of the staff playing with remote control toys in the office."
GAAD..last night I thought of the same image. Not good...well, at least they weren't laid back in their chairs drinking beer and tossing paper airplanes....but it was close..
Always trying to see the glass half full, Im assuming that this dilution will be followed by an announcement, because they KNOW what this news is going to do to stockholders value.
They could have done this at any time in the future if it looked like there was a problem with funds...
why now?? To just let the stock sink...?? The rational part of my mind refuses to accept it...although
I have experienced just how "dirty" things can get with companies with this kind of background.
We will just have to wait and see.
Yes, likely so, but there has to be a method to the madness. We can only hope. So many different scenarios that can play out..perhaps something very soon after this "discovery". Could they be so callous as to dilute with 200 Million more shares and have the stock plunge with no reason?? Because right now there isn't a reason. Funds were available...stock was available...now another 200 million shares. I can't accept "madness" as a reason, or greed, or corruption. Not with the other big players involved. Something is up.
Before my morning coffee and thinking about "why so many shares dilution"....what would cause such a decision so suddenly?? Perhaps, maybe, a contract announcement is at hand, and "they" are afraid of a hostile take over at these prices. Think of the 100 patents, and all they do and could encompass, knowing what the last two contained...the Sheets and the foam. Two recent patent discoveries that
totally changed the dynamics of LQMT. It just doesn't make sense that they did it on a whim to give themselves more "gifts"... Not after telling stockholders they were funded into next year. And not
an extra 200 Million shares. There has to be something big behind this decision. They just paid off their debt and getting their paper work in order. So, this morning, I'd rather be excited than depressed, so that's my take on it.
I know. I just want to look at any bright side to it, until we know the truth. i have a sickening feeling what that may be.
I'll sleep on thinking there is good coming. Better than going to bed thinking all is lost with such a severe dilution. I can see both alternatives. 200 Million Shares, considering the stock drop it will cause "may" give them funds for another year. Which also would give us a hint about any contract prospects they see in the near future...which would be none. Nada. Nothing. OR, there is a reason to POP that many shares out in the middle of the third quarter when we were told funds would take us into the next year. No DD will give us an answer...No one has a clue. All we can do is wait for the other shoe to drop and perhaps get ready for the "assumed bad news."
Exciting to say the least. A BIG mystery has been foisted upon us and no one has a clue to the answer.
I have to go on the premise that something significant has happened, requiring funding....and if news comes out. those shares will be worth a LOT more. $200 Million??? This evening anything is possible...I'd like to think that for awhile....the news excites and frightens at the same time.
GLL.
Whatever the reason for the dilution, can we expect an explanation soon??? Some kind of announcement?? VERY SOON?? I can't see them going on about how they are funded into next year..and then all of a sudden.."200 Million shares". Hmmm...I wonder if the "unknown" will come to fruition in December...
I agree..its best at this point to think of something positive...there will be plenty of time to jump off a cliff later if "we're" wrong.
Its totally bizarre and irrational. Yes, perhaps something is up, that requires these shares. Something big, very big. Now the question is "what?"
As known by most here, about year ago, I made a date for myself...(July) as a wait time for something of significance to happen to LQMT. I advised others to do it too, if only for the mental health of it.
To save one from going through the daily frustrations...expecting something to happen any day...
it worked for me...and low and behold....Come Mid July...a patent is discovered that took the capabilities of LQMT far beyond anyones expectations. That was the "Sheet" patent. Also, Mid July,
LQMT went up 300% on very heavy volume. Take it as a coincidence or whatever you will, but I am again giving myself a "future date" to focus on. Come what may, my wait date is December. Pick a date for youself..tell yourself nothing is likely to happen until then...and then enjoy your life. It works...its very basic psychology. Of course the fact that it did come to pass in July...kind of knocked me off my feet. I'm not saying something will happen in December...but that is my "mind locked" date to wait..without getting all bent out of shape.
Good Luck Longs.
My response to "red" was "I don't think so", and then referred to the blog on the number of repetitive compressions...that wasn't a declaration that he was wrong...it was I DONT THINK SO...which opens the door to discussion, or someone coming in to correct my assumption or inference from the blog. See??? Apology for what??
LOL.... Now if we want to discuss whose way behind on apologies...
GOODLUCKLONGS...
Wall Street is nothing but stock manipulation. (Goldman Sachs and their Billion Trades a second computer) etc.... now the average investor has to consider how to get around the manipulation and make some money.
I don't think so. From the tests the "repetitions" were much lower than that. I think 1200 was the max.
And nothing in the area of piston rings...it gets too hot for the metal as was explained on the Blog Site.
Keep in mind the test results as described in the latest "Blog" on the LiquidMetal web site. For some kind of "clamp springs". the LQMT springs lasted 600% longer than required by the potential contractor. Now they are testing smaller springs. These tests results can/will be used by LQMT in many other areas of use. They have "proof" as to the viability of the metal that can now be shown to other potential buyers. . That was a big step.
And from the blog, it sure seemed to me that they were indicating by a few "select"? words that a contract was near. One contract will lead to others. And now just recently this "foam patent"...I don't have a clue on where that could go, but it seems to have opened MANY more doors...and of course we have the recent "SHEET PATENT". Talk about groundwork being put in place. So what other patents are coming?? These last two that were announced are HUGE as to the design and manufacture.
And there are about 50 more patents in for approval. Now we know these patents aren't "fluff".
They are SIGNIFICANT. And perhaps the others will be too. Some here have great hopes that this stock will plunge back to 6 cents...a price it was at as they sat on the sidelines, hoping for it to go lower.
(sorry, I don't see that happening..ever). And then when it goes to 36 cents...that will be a 600% increase in PPS that they will miss. I do not have a clue on where its all headed. But you have to admit some pretty fantastic things have happened recently as far as the divulgence of patents and the news on "stress testing" of some kind of springs...being done by a contractor. There is a lot of negative noise right now...I'm holding my shares come what may, and i feel much better about it all just recently. GOOD LUCK LONGS.
There was no "botched forecast". I had a premonition for almost a year, that something would happen in July. Something good, something big. I went no further than that. In mid July the stock went up
300%, and also the "sheet patent" was discovered by one of our posters. End of Story.
Just a note to the disheartened. When APPLE computer started out...the "geniuses" on Wall Street could see no value in Home Computers. When AOL stock came out...Wall Street could see no way the internet could generate revenue. When Warren Buffet started investing, Wall Street laughed at a man from Omaha, When Tesla was a concept...Wall Street said it was just another Electric Car company that would fail... And now we have LQMT, a "miracle" metal that seems to out perform anything in use today...Yes, it got a rough start...but look at the recent patents...and its linked to APPLE computer, Materion and Engel. is it worth the risk??? I think so. But don't expect WALL STREET to fall in love with it...they are usually the last to arrive at the table...its the first investors that win the big prize...
and yes...I'm very sorry I sold TESLA...but what I gained from such a mistake had much more value than what I'd have in monetary wealth. Good Luck Longs...and that will be it for me for awhile.
Back into the shadows.
My question to the Liquid Metal Blog Site has now been posted...(www.liquidmetal.com). It starts off with "Your Last Sentence". I got a vague reply...and nothing new was revealed, but I'm glad I sent it in.
I don't remember how I discovered LQMT...but it was a month or so after I sold TESLA when it was still in the 30"s...even though I was raving about it and told others it was going to be a giant...now its at 150....right after I sold TESLA I had my OCD cured...which had caused me to be a compulsive trader for decades...I went into LQMT and promised myself..it would be my last stock investment and I was going to hold it for a LONG time...I've been able to keep my LQMT shares for over a year now...the desire to quick trade stocks is gone...and I can see this metal...and perhaps LQMT go beyond anyones expectations.
And if it doesn't....it will have no effect on my current life situation..which I have embraced, finally being able to enjoy what I have now...and appreciate what's really important in life. Its been a long lesson...and I've completed the course.
Buy and HOLD...buy and HOLD....from the latest patent discovery....sure looks like possible uses continues to explode....thanks to "he" that discovered the patents..... Now off to see Elysium...
and away from the frustrations of the MB....BUY AND HOLD....
At 16 cents a share....that could go to several dollars...I'm sure that truck could still pick up a nice bunch...if one wants to take the chance...its all about chance..
"glass foam"??? is that the state its in before it cools to a "solid" sheet?? or is this "foam" something new...and stays as a "foam"...(full of bubbles)....this sure is getting interesting....
"More detailed analysis are ongoing, and the customer is working to perform further tests. They are aiming to create an even smaller clamp in an application where space is at a premium and existing materials have not been able to deliver the required performance. Liquidmetal is excited to see this application move into production soon"
The above paragraph is from the latest BLOG on the Liquid Metal web site......Look closely at the last sentence. What does that sentence tell you??? Is it a poor choice of words??? Or did they tell you their expectations in black and white. Yesterday I submitted a question on that very sentence. Go over that Blog again, and read the test results...the contractor expected at least 200 and LQMT gave them 1200 on their last test. They are now testing the same type "spring/clamp" but smaller...and no other company has been able to meet their requirements. NONE.
These test results will become more selling points to other companies, as to the durability of the metal. If they are getting such results with one contractor...can we assume they are getting similar results with other contractors??? Yes, there is a learning curve when they are making contractor specific items, like the springs. But just look at the last attempt. 600% greater results than the contractor required.
Now I'll get back to my daily chores. I'll peek in every once in awhile... I suggest others do the same rather than get tied up in personality conflicts.
Good Luck Longs.
Taking a break from the IHUB message board...I have no feelings of any future LQMT event. But July was nice and for me, very strange. Good Luck...I'm holding my shares, and will peek in now and then....with my hands off the keyboard....until something significant happens. "again".
Don't know...and not even sure if such a contract will do anything. What "we" need is forward looking articles on the company and the metal...discussing its future potential....I know if APPLE comes out with it....those discussions will start...that ball needs to get rolling....the market place taking notice and putting in print where "they" think such a metal could go.
Perhaps the closest thing to a contract. Remember on the "blog"?? They gave out testing results...durability etc. If nothing else, it gives LQMT proof of the metal. So in that respect it was exciting...I can't see whatever that comany is, turning its back on the LQMT springs...doesn't seem like a big revenue generator...but there is a lot of testing that is gained also..for other contractors to analyze.
But its understandable. Its a very competitive area...no one wants to give a hint about anything....and APPLE is the most secretive of companies. I'm sure they have a strangle hold on LQMT on what they can say about new patents or potential...and it will be that way UNTIL APPLE finally releases
their products using the metal..IMO....
I don't think APPLE is going to delay having a LQMT phone...they'll want to get it out on the shelves as fast as possible...we have enough clues to connect some dots on what's going on behind the curtain.
SHEETS of LIQUID METAL...from paper thin to 1 inch thick. Steipp didn't want to talk about it..but its the 700 lb gorilla in the room...
Very perceptive, and could be another clue..no matter how secretive Steipp wants to be.
Well, we all make some bad decisions/choices in life, but I try to step back and put it all into perspective. The longer one lives, if one is somewhat introspective, its possible to see
the positives in disappointments. We all like to think hitting it big in a stock will bring great things.
But we learn from big lottery winners, that's far from reality. I still can "wince" at the "Almost made it" situations....but still be happy with how things are now. Like the TESLA cars, there is or will be a HUGE demand for LQMT products...far beyond anything Wall Streeters can imagine. Remember, it was WAll Street that totally missed the popularity of the IPOD. They had to be shocked when the earnings came out proving MILLIONS were buying them. The same is true for LQMT. Yes, every time a new APPLE phone is about to be released, there are articles about "it may be LQMT this time." But few if any of these "gurus" of stocks, have written up the forward looking possibilities that we on this site write about every day. I'm rambling...its time for bed.
