this is from the AFTC website update in jan 2011
http://altfueltechnology.com/customers.php
--Also in 2010, we were selected for a Phase 2 award to further develop the intensified common rail system for a multi-cylinder engine. This award is currently under negotiation and should be awarded in April, 2011. The anticipated value of this contract is $725,000.
In 2011, AFT submitted a Phase 1 & Phase 1 option proposal to design and demonstrate ( on JP-8 fuel) a high pressure injection system for a rotary diesel engine. This contract, if we are selected, is valued at about $150,000. If we are successful in this endeavor and are selected for a Phase 2 contract, the total value of the projects is estimated at $1,150,000.
(if they follow the 6 month rule, SBIR #3 phase I may be awarded by June 2011.)
no thanks, just bored...
trader of the day award goes to pupp...
maybe the last one here to buy 1 mill before the pr.
I did the same thing last year, (if you overpaid i this year since jan 1 2011)
you can wait until ap 15 2012 to remove it.
Just pay taxes on the profits and ignore the 600 over part.
I would hold until after the pr.
if overpaid in 2010... until ap 15 2011 to remove
if overpaid in 2011... until ap 15 2012 to remvoe
.. i also had to sell 200,000 on monday,
pr is taking a bit longer than I planned...lol
who just sold 1 mill at .0022?

DME/ele hybrids would work, they already have busses doing this,
and hopefully our european companies are testing it in cars too,
dme/ele car fleets would be great. Now we wait and see.
The White House also noted the administration will finalize the first-ever national fuel economy and greenhouse gas emission standards for commercial trucks, vans and buses. The standards will take effect in the 2014 model year and will cover the 2014-18 model years.
The administration reached a deal in May 2009 to boost fuel efficiency by 40 percent by the 2016 model year to a fleet-wide average of 34.1 mpg - a move that will save 1.8 billion barrels of oil over the lifetime of the vehicles.
yes, it was mentioned last fall that there were ... customers eager to start early this year, and that the co would be hiring more engineers, but we will have to wait to see if any of this happens. I am holding long too. Maybe AFTC can get a green gov loan to help with production startup costs. GLTA
President Obama seeks to recharge his energy plan today with a major speech in Washington, calling again for development of alternative fuels so that the U.S. can reduce foreign oil imports by one-third over the next decade.

maybe some of this green energy $ could start heading this way...
in 2010,
"China invested more -- a record $54.4 billion -- as did Germany, $41.2 billion, according to the report. Those two countries have minimum clean-energy targets."

Proposal Title: Development of the Bosch CP-3 Common Rail Pump for JP-8 Fuel
Abstract: Development of the Bosch CP-3 Common Rail Pump for JP-8 Fuel. In Phase 1, tests showed that the CP-3 pump had high wear after only 500 hrs. of testing using JP-8 fuel. This wear is caused by the very low viscosity of the fuel, and the lack of effective anti-wear additives in the fuel. The primary problems identified are: (1) tappet wear, (2) plunger wear (contact button), (3) bearing cavitation, (4) Oldham drive wear, (5) fuel seal and shaft wear and (6) inlet valve and seat wear. The solution to these problems will include changes in basic design geometry, materials and heat treatment. Although our proposal will describe detailed design proposals, the final solutions will stem from engineering analysis. The project is divided into three separate phases: (1) Design, analysis and manufacture of a prototype and a 500 hr accelerated proof test. (2) Deficiencies will be corrected and a 2nd. prototype will be built and tested (500 hrs). (3) Any remaining problems will be corrected and a 3rd prototype will be built. This final prototype will be tested for 1000 hrs(with a 500 hr inspection)under accelerated test conditions. The pump will be inspected and a final report will be written.

Good question, I know they were using the AFTC fuel systems up to 2009, and not sure if thoes are the same trucks or new ones.
last summer I emailed volvo and tried to ask them and they did not reply.
so not sure.
Ack... you can delete that post if you want.
anyone think that AFTC has any chance of a take over bid,
by someone like Ford? I know the ceo has 1 mill pr shares to keep control, but a lot of takeovers lately and I was just wondering...
Ford expanding in China... think they have plans to use
A DME car there? Or a DME/Ele hybrid?
They have had a full AFTC fuel system test unit since Aug of 09.
And China already has a DME fuel supply and their own DME plants.
Ford to Invest CNY7bn in China to Enlarge Output

Does anyone have an update on the North American committee on DME?
here is the article from Dec 2009
"15 December 2009
The International DME Association (IDA) has formed its North American Affairs Committee (NAAC), to actively promote the awareness and use of dimethyl ether (DME) as a renewable, low-carbon diesel substitute throughout North America. Richard J LeBlanc, CEO of biorefinery developer Chemrec.
IDA Chairman Jean-Alain Taupy of Total said, ‘We have seen significant growth in DME’s use as a clean fuel in Asia over the past few years, and with major changes now being proposed to legislation and regulations in North America regarding transportation fuels and environmental issues, the International DME Association has formed a committee to facilitate the inclusion of DME in relevant legislation, projects, and programs now underway or proposed.’
DME can be used as fuel in diesel engines, gasoline engines, and gas turbines, as a substitute for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for home heating and cooking applications, as well as its most common use today as an aerosol propellant. According to IDA, DME can be produced from a variety of abundant sources, including natural gas, coal, waste from pulp and paper mills, forest products, agricultural by-products, municipal waste and dedicated fuel crops such as switchgrass.
‘The environmental benefits of DME are recognized around the world and we are pleased to be part of a trade organisation that will help to build awareness and acceptance of DME in North America,’ LeBlanc said. ‘Many research universities and government laboratories already have confirmed the merits of DME, and now we hope to promote increased production, distribution and use of DME in North America as is happening in Asia.’
Members of the IDA’s NAAC include energy and fuel producers Total and Methanex; engine technology companies Caterpillar, Volvo/Mack, and
***Alternative Fuel Technology;
process suppliers Chemrec, Lurgi and Haldor Topsoe; and renewable and biofuel producers Genifuel, LCE BioEnergy, Blue Fuel Energy and Range Fuels; along with policy experts The Methanol Institute, and academics from Penn State University and the University of Utah."
sell me more, sell me more... or are you shorts getting tight?
lol... just bored,
am also looking to buy F calls for Jan 2013 Stike price (they sell it to you for... in jan 13) for $30. if you want to gurantee that price it costs you 23 cents a share now, and one option = 100 shares, so, $23= 100 shares guaranteed, and $230 (+ broker fees) = 1000 in Jan 2013 buy option, or you can sell the option before then or just forget it and not buy them in 2013. Ford seems to be one of the only companies taking the futre seriously, and going green.
$5 a gallon? Get ready, oil experts say...
"If gasoline prices approaching $4 a gallon are draining your wallet, brace yourself. Oil industry experts say gas prices could hit $5 a gallon — possibly before summer.
Blame the war in Libya and continuing unrest in other parts of the Middle East and North Africa, experts say.
The region produces 27 percent of the world’s oil.
Libya, which sits on the largest oil reserves in Africa, has almost totally stopped petroleum shipments as rebels battle troops loyal to Col. Moammar Gadhafi. The addition of international forces, including the U.S., could mean that the country will be embroiled in a protracted conflict that could keep oil fields offline much longer than previously expected, energy experts said.
In Yemen, embattled President Ali Abdullah Saleh pledged to step down more than a year early, but his refusal to leave immediately infuriated tens of thousands of demonstrators. Yemen is an important transfer point for global oil supplies.
“It’s creating a situation where we could see the price of oil go up to $150 a barrel and gasoline toward $5 a gallon,” said Phil Flynn, an oil industry analyst with Chicago-based PFGBest.
Prices are likely to be steeper in the city than other regions, Flynn said."
--- this should speed up some DME customer orders? GLTA
the low volume is good, less sellers will mean higher value at any good news,
...and that is the same for a lot of people in this economy,
but, you did well by finding this investment. Do you have any plans in case it takes off? If it jumps on good news, it is just as hard to hold onto you new gains as it is to get them. A few years back, I had a 10k gain and decided to reinvest it, but did not plan ahead enough, and lost it just as fast.
Wise to have a plan for any extra earnings, BEFORE you get them, so your profits will stay safe too. Always ok to take your original investment and reinvest. Extra can be put to hold in cash or diversify. GLTA
Time = Progress = AFTC growth and value,
all we need is patience. GLTA!
If phase II is done testing and ready for production, then sales to the army, yes, this stock could take off. That would be a huge contract, just for the JP-8 upagraded fuel injection pump. And in the fall of 2010, AFTC has been talking about expanding for production, but they have not said for what product yet. 3 army sbir products, and DME fuel systems with international customers is a solid sales base to me, when it gets to that stage. GLTA
I will second that... .10 is not far off,
give the projects time to complete and hit the news, it will take off. Thanks to everyone for their input and happy St Pats Day!
Thanks B_T, I guess since we are on quarterly reporting now,
it would show up then. I don't think they are diluting as volume had been low the last 30 days. And they have the second Army SBIR $ coming in April.
Even had some bounce back on the rise in volume today. GLTA
Have a question for B_T about "full pink status"
Now that the co is curr. info, does that include the outstanding share #? I think it does, as the last time I asked the co, they said it had not changed since the share float reported at the listing upgrade. But, are they required to keep us updated about the share float info? I know the rule was to report any "material" change within four days of their finding out, (like winning the Army SBIR contracts), but does it include share numbers?
My guess is the last group of sales, was speculators leaving after 30 days from the last update. I don't think the co is diluting anymore. But, just checking. I am in for long and can wait a few more months for the co to report all its SBIR awards and DME progress. GLTA
Should be good for "Green" stocks the next few months,
after the oil disaster and now the nuk disaster. Solar is up today...rest of green industry should follow. Something good always comes from the problems. My sympth. goes out to the Japan, except for the corporation that built the nuk power plants in a fault zone, they only cared about $, not safety. Sort of like deep water drilling, problems happen, and it is too risky. Nature always pays the price of man's greed. Stay safe!
Volvo was too cheap to pay for it,
they teamed up with Delphi to "try" to build (or copy with 10 years of AFCT's info) their own dme fuel system... and everyone says chna is the only cheat...
AFTC does not need Volvo business any longer, and if V ever wants to order DME systems from AFTC, I hope they charge them 10% extra!
GO AFTC!
Anyone hear anything about the North American DME Association?
I found a DME update in Canada.

Korea Gas to build 300,000 tpy DME plant; one-step process
9 February 2011
Korea Gas Technology Corporation (KOGAS) has contracted Unitel Technologies, Inc. to prepare the basic engineering and design package for a plant that will make 300,000 tons of dimethyl-ether (DME) per year (tpy).
here is a link to the full article

looks like our South Korean customers are starting another DME fuel plant, and it has a "one step" technology.
yes, it was .0024 and .0025, the bid was trying to go higher because the sellers seem to have dissappeared for now...
when the volume dries up, the bid rises as there are fewer sellers, ie, shorts are getting tight,
go oil go!...lol
everyone have a nice weekend, clear sailing ahead for this
alternative energy company.
Everyone have a great weekend and stay safe
does phase III have an official approval time or does it just go to the army as soon as the phase II is done? (for instance, if the testing is done, can the co already have given it to the army to test?
Just wondered how the steps work.
A question for B_T on army phase III
the phase II testing description is listed in the army sbir.
when aftc is done with phase II, does it automatically
go to the army for testing and approval, or are there other steps in volved? It has almost been a year, and I was wondering what happens next, if aftc is finished with the durability testing and upgrades.
Thanks

info on JP-8 ...
JP-8
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
JP-8, or JP8 (for "Jet Propellant 8") is a jet fuel, specified in 1990 by the U.S. government. It is kerosene-based. It is a replacement for the JP-4 fuel; the U.S. Air Force replaced JP-4 with JP-8 completely by the fall of 1996, to use a less flammable, less hazardous fuel for better safety and combat survivability. The U.S. Navy uses a similar formula, JP-5. JP-8 is projected to remain in use at least until 2025. It was first introduced at NATO bases in 1978. Its NATO code is F-34. It is specified by MIL-DTL-83133 and British Defence Standard 91-87.
JP-8 has a flash point of 38 °C (100 °F),[1] compared to -18 °C (0 °F) for JP-4. JP-5 has an even higher flash point of > 60 °C (140 °F), but also a higher cost, limiting its use to aircraft carriers and other situations where the danger of fire is greatest.
Outside of powering aircraft, JP-8 (or JP-5) is used as a fuel for heaters, stoves,[2] tanks,[3] by the U.S. military as a replacement for diesel fuel in the engines of nearly all tactical ground vehicles and electrical generators, and as a coolant in engines and some other aircraft components. The use of a single fuel greatly simplifies logistics.
When used in highly supercharged diesel engines with the corresponding low compression ratio of about only 14:1 or below, JP-8 causes troubles during cold start and idling due to low compression temperatures and following ignition delay because cetane index is not specified in MIL-DTL-83133G to 40 or higher. Because lubricity to the BOCLE method is not specified in MIL-DTL-83133G, modern common rail diesel engines can experience wear problems in high pressure fuel pumps and injectors because of undefined lubricity conditions of this fuel. Another problem in diesel engines can be the increased wear in outlet valve seats in the cylinder heads, because a minimum content of sulfur is not specified in MIL-DTL-83133G. Sulfur in fuels contributes normally to build up damping soot layers in these valve seats. According to the notes in this standard it is intended to install a value for the cetane index in one of the next releases.
Because it does not gel at low temperatures, JP-8 is used at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station,[citation needed] for heating, electrical generation, and melting ice for water.
Commercial aviation uses a similar mixture under the name Jet-A.
JP-8 is formulated with icing inhibitor, corrosion inhibitors, lubricants, and antistatic agents, and less benzene (a carcinogen) and less n-hexane (a neurotoxin) than JP-4. However, it also smells stronger than JP-4. JP-8 has an oily feel to the touch, while JP-4 feels more like a solvent. Workers have complained of smelling and tasting JP-8 for hours after exposure. As JP-8 is less volatile, it remains on the contaminated surfaces for longer time, increasing the risk of exposure.[4]
JP-8+100 is a version of JP-8 with an additive that increases its thermal stability by 56°C (a difference of 100°F). The additive is a combination of a surfactant, metal deactivator, and an antioxidant, and was introduced in 1994 to reduce coking and fouling in engine fuel systems. Commercially, this additive is used in Boeing aircraft operated by KLM, and in police helicopters in Tampa, Florida.[citation needed] JP-8+100 is also used for Canadian CF-18 Hornets.
notice the bid is rising... shorts must be getting worried,
.0022 - .0024 current
LOL,
they will have to pay more to buy in now,
no more easy dilution shares

plus, oil is out of control again,
sorry for the country, but good for alternative fuel companies...
and it may help speed up DME customer orders. GLTA!!!

Saudi Arabia has stepped up production to counter the Libyan outages, Tim Evans, energy analyst at Citigroup’s Citi Futures Perspective, said in a note,
but “multiple problems would soak up additional capacity, reducing the remaining cushion.”
Spreading worry
Fears of contagion to other North African and Middle Eastern countries continued. Read about Tuesday’s developments in the Middle East.
“As the violence rages on in Libya and overall uncertainty grows, there are mounting fears that other producers in the immediate vicinity will suffer similar outages due to political unrest,” analysts at Barclays Capital said.
Brent oil futures advanced on Tuesday, adding $2.60, or 2.3%, to $114.40 a barrel on ICE Futures in London.
“Though Algeria is an immediate concern for the market, we would view Iraq as a larger threat to the oil market, especially if the unrest continues to spread in the country,” the Barclays Capital analysts added.
Everyone is holding, it's the first of the month...
and waiting for any good news...
and only 30 days from April and the possible release of the Army SBIR news...
not sure what is going on with GERS.
It's all good, I've waited this long, I can wait a little longer!
Just wondering if the phase II pump testing is done or if they have any new customer orders, seems like the reg sbir news was due in April, so maybe this will be a nice suprise. GLTA
