Not so blind are you Mr. Sqirrel? I think you have put your finger exactly on the crux of why there are no contracts yet, and why over-optimism regarding permit issue led to the necessity for today's extreme caution.
Strongly urge all NY shareholders to contact their senators to explain cicrumstances and the urgent need for permit issue by the authority!
Hey ho - Gap filled, Kraken submerged, spingle spangled? Just another step on the road to riches?
Brig - Please let me assure you my posting was intended only as admiring fun ... not to be taken seriously. I am among the many in your debt and am most grateful. Friends?
But, Sir, I am your greatest admirer! Not only is the spinglefluke the greatest discovery in the history of charting since Henry the Navigator, but its name becomes it most worthily. Please - what does spingle signify?
For the instruction of fellow lunatics I am happy to report my progress to date in researching the etymology of the "Inverted Spinglefluke". As posted previously the construction describes an exceptional form of the common Flounder. The Flounder travels at the high speed of three to four miles per day, is sexually mature at the unusually small size of three inches in length, and has negligible culinary value. Fishermen contemptuously compare its flavor to that of boiled flannel. In stock exchange parlance all three of these characteristics - high momentum, brisk activity at low psp, and distastefulness to greedy shorts - are exceptional virtues to traders and obviously account for the extremely high regard in which this fluke is held by investors.
The description 'inverted' clearly refers to the fluke's perceived preference for swimming upside down in order to maintain its consolidation while rising from lower to upper levels as quickly as possible.
But as to 'spingle'- here I confess my abject failure to trace any derivation whatsoever. My suspicion is that it must connote the extraodinary and total reliability of the fluke's consistency in performance but I am unable to posit this notion beyond conjecture. Any help in ovrecoming the conundrum will be greatly appreciated.
The fluke is the flounder part. See Oxford Dictionary: Fluke n.1. Flatfish, esp the common flounder.
Say what you will - the Company's PRs have always been badly written - full of circumlocution, confusion, repetition, extraneous words, bad syntax, punctuation errors, even typos. The reason is they don't have anyone who can write simple english. The result is nobody understand what they actually mean and everybody speculates about possible interpretation. The cure is simple - HIRE PROFESSIONAL WRITING HELP. Good clear communication is vitally important to the Company, increasingly so as it grows, and WDRP does itself a grave disservice by looking amateurish and incompotent in its public relations. This is a technical criticism only and has nothing to do with message content - though conveying adequate information is a separate and equally woeful area. I have repeated this comment many times because each PR is issued as tangled gobbledegook. My criticism has nothing to do with 'hate' - though I have been pounded often for saying what is perfectly obvious as if I am a traitor to the cause. I not only want the Company to do great things, I want it to look great as well. Please, Mr. Martel, find someone with adequate word skills to represent the Company proudly.
24539/24544 appear to be private messages. Same rules for all, please.
C'mon guys! A lot of you know Beers - what have you got to say?
If you believe that disgusting libel you'll believe anything. The guy should be exposed and prosecuted.
Please answer somebody! O.K. The Company never said there would be a PR 'blitz'. Was anyone told there would be a PR in March? Both statements have been repeated here countless times as originating from IR. If they were simply booster pumping then my personal apologies are due to Andrew. That in no way changes my view that the Company's information falss short of what is necessary to substantiate its claim to transparency, and is itself to blame for doubt and speculation.
Who would mind waiting if there are reasons for it which are openly explained? The problems start when silence breeds uncertainty.
With that exception I welcome Doc's posts today in a calmer climate than has prevailed here for a long time.
Let's hope UMC will be a party to the forthcoming PR. They have been permitted to contribute in the past. It will be helpful if they can address your question and similar market considerations. Nice if Design 1st were included too with information on their test results.
Ty response. Your last sentence reads less confidently than what it follows. Can you please explain what it implies?
Inspiring sangfroid! Hope your plan is to takeover production ...
Can anyone please post net balance shares bought/ shares sold today?
Wasn't it more likely contrived to provide short covering opportunity rather than a "kami kazee whacker"? So much uncertainty could be avoided if we had the regular technical news promised by Robert S 10.28.10
"Wanderport's regular communication with Design 1st Inc. will hasten timeline updates and facilitate a more precise timetable schedule, which will be amended and reported accordingly."
Six months and not a single technical update - bound to cause speculation imho. Can't come too soon.
Brian - you and others generously share what IR tells you. The reason I don't call is because he always tells you the same thing - Soon. My last post was deliberately sarcastic because I very much want to see a message in the next eight days - any message, any explanation! I don't want another default. I was not fair to Andrew because he is not personally responsible; he can't say any more than he is allowed to say. But my point is that it's truly a question of public information being needed not private conversations, of undertakings being met, promises kept etc. Why can't we be told what's happening, why can't even the need for silence be explained if there is one? Instead there are daily quantities of rah rah from posters who have no actual knowledge. I don't expect you to agree and respect your good intentions.
Fair enough. I did see that and understood. Guess I'm a cantankerous old .... with foolish outdated expectations. Sure share your hopes for the next two weeks.
Retnav - I have no wish to feud with you. I respect your posts and your positions.
Two points only, and then I'll shut up. First, "Us Longs know something but please, don't tell anyone ...ok?" Isn't that a clear claim to having secret knowledge, which in the context was intended to reassure? Sorry - I can't see anything facetious there. Perhaps he does know something, perhaps he doesn't: either way in his position he should not create an unsupported impression. Second, you are spot on when you say the Company "could and should" be more transparent; but not, I think, when you add that nothing can be done about it. The Company has frequently said it wants to be fully transparent. That's great, exceptional, and one of the reasons I am here. The problem arises when it does not live up to its own claim. Then it needs to be reminded - not because it "owes us" anything - see Wrinkles - but because actual performance is what counts. I have the highest expectations of WDRP and am sorry when it disappoints - causing, as you rightly add concern - then it's a matter for regret because wider public confidence will depend on the recognition of its integrity. I am sure you know that going dark is regarded by the market as a penny red flag. Why run The risk of flying it? I'm sure there is plenty of information they could have released over the past several months which would simply have removed all grounds for doubt.
Wonder if they've got the message? Pinks cannot go dark for months on end, especially if they have promised news by a deadline. There's a high price to pay if they do ... and we're mighty close to the wire. Good news will be wanderful, credible explanation of delay or problem will be disappointing but acceptable, no information will be disastrous arrogance and very costly for all. My fingers are crossed.
Seems no-one wants to do that.
Are you right in saying all the pumping about a blitz came from posters? I thought Andrew was the source of 1) Pr Blitz imminent and 2) timed for issue in March. It would be disapppointing to know this was only poster invention. Can anyone confirm Company source, please?
I think so too. It seemed to duplicate when I backed out after posting.
Everyone will shout hurrah! if it comes in the next two weeks. Your IR quote, yau say, was a month ago. Yesterday we read Andrew's "hopefully'. Ws it a slip of the pen, or a warning? We have to wait and see.
Belize - you have nailed some very significant words - "those interested in our Company". Let's all speculate a little (makes a change doesn't it?)
Seems to me today's PR was not connected to the anticipated technical news we have been waiting for. It was an important business matter entirely within the province of WDRP's CEO. I believe Martel is very smart and would want to maintain pps if there is any current undisclosed interest in a buy-out. If, as was hinted by Andrew yesterday, there will be more delay in releasing the technical news (i.e. beyond the promised March) he would certainly see that concern would grow and pps would be difficult to maintain at its current level. A serious drop is the last thing he would want - so he took the initiative to release news of his success in upgrading the Company rating. Little Dutch Boy puts his finger in the leaking dyke ... kind of thing ... before the reactor goes boom. The intriguing part, as you suggest,is the revelation that there are "those" beside the shareholders who have an interest in the Company. Martel has referred in the past(if I can trust my rusty memory) to a buy-out opportunity being 'hard to resist', or words to that effect. Hs action regarding the rating was necessary and correct in any case, but gains more focus if he has suitors for WDRP. I had previously dismissed buy-out talk on the board as idle wishful-thinking, but in the light of today's news I am reconsidering. What say you?
Welcome news, Mr. Martel! I hope it will help to stabilize market until promised production news comes.
My apologies to Scott if I incorrectly attributed the "one click" to him - bad memory, I fear. What sponsored my message blaming Andrew was his email to wykoskeptic yesterday - "moving forward to informing investors hopefully this month". It remains my impression from many posters that IR has repeatedly said news will come "in March". Now it's "hopefully this month". On past record I interpret that as meaning not in March but later. Obviously Andrew is not personally responsible if there is more delay. But I believe he is responsible for creating the belief that there would be a PR Blitz in March. If things have changed then imo a forthright explanation is needed of the reason for it. Most of the posts this morning attacking Beer entirely miss my point, which is the need for IR information to be reliable at all times. On the othr hand, if the March PR Blitz was the invention of posters' speculation, then my apologies extend to Andrew.
Something's wrong with my buttons again!
IMHO Andrew has only himself to blame if he is now pissed off with investor impatience. Back in February he said news would come in March. Many posters thought that meant early March. I remember writing to say there are 31 days in March and not to expect anything immediately. Since then Andrew has said - per Scott - that he has his finger on the button for an any-day-now PR BLITZ. Now that has faded into another some-day, one-day. Personally I don't mind when it comes, but I do wish that what we are told could actually happen when we are told it will happen. I CARE about integrity here. Is that unreasonable? Am I picky?
Confucius said (and if we can have Romans quoted on the board - and I like to see them here a lot - why can't we have a Chinaman?) "if public ionformation is not reliable, the people will stand about in hopeless confusion". So yes - I am hopelessly confused. Where and when is the Blitz?
Red hot news, hunh?
Doesn't seem to match current expectations very well, do you think?
Thank you. It's encouraging to see the turn-around in short position. Can you please explain a puzzle? Last week a poster wrote that it was almost impossible to short pennies because only one broker would accept short sale orders and he charged so much for the service that it was uneconomic. So it's hard to understand how short poistions are created even on the modest WDRP scale.(Last thing in the world I would contemplate, but just curious)
Exactly. It's not only money that's needed but experience and competence. Projected international sales are a massive financial and production operation far beyond the experience of existing management. Maybe it's all planned out? Who knows? But in the present context selling the prototype to a major manufacturer might make more sense, preferably on a royalty basis. 20 more days in March ....?
What can be wrong so long as she's happy? Perhaps she spoke to Andrew?
Great one, Beer. I've often wondered about that. As for me - I heard it on the grapevine - so I know it's true.
Can anyone explain the value of arguing figures and costs and sales prices without any knowledge of what the performance or production cost may be? All sorts of claims are made and contested by posters who cannot possibly know what they are talking about. We know design changes have had to be made. We have not been informed what they are or what effect they may have. Do the experts have glass balls or can they simply see in the dark? Beats me.
Beer - Thanks again. Hmmmm....! I can't send PM. Will write if you can PM e-mail.
Beer - Thanks for message. Look forward to hearing result.
Beer - It would be interesting to have your opinion on the cabal announced yesterday.
If you are right it is truly disappointing that nothing worth reporting has happened in so many months. Nothing to say about China? Nothing to say about 1st Design? So the promised regular updates can be ignored because nothing has moved foward? Nothing? Not even about progress on the heat exchanger which was announced as design done in the PR before last? But thank you for answering my post; it was courteous of you, and that is rare round here - especially from WDRP. The news had better be sensational when it comes because imho a lot of goodwill and trust has been squandered through failure to keep simple promises. And for the prophets hoping for next week - remember there are 31 days 'in March'. My, Oh My!
