Hi Tom,
Who me pull the trigger already on my next stock idea? You know I like the banks and I picked up some TBBK this morning in the early going. The best ideas always come out of the gate running, and TBBK is doing just that so far. I went back this past weekend and read the entire conference call transcript. I liked what I read so I pulled the trigger. Just doing my part to keep a liquid market. Your core/ sandbox story is spot on. I never mess with our core holdings nor do I comment on them on this board. They provide a nice income flow which allowed me to walk off the job at age 56, nearly 4 years ago. You're right about the sandbox stuff. I like trading for future goals like a new truck, furniture, etc. Plus staying active in the market keeps you sharp and makes you think. We need a AIM board golf outing this summer. I should message you on F-book, maybe we could have a phone convo soon. Yes, I'd be asking you about Don Carlson we never did get to meet. He passed by here on I-65 on his way to Florida every year, but we never did get hooked up. I regret that to this day. Best regards, Ken
Update...
+0.4% Annual... +0.34% Simple... ROCAR +0.05%... Avg at Risk = 81.69%... Boy ohhhhhhhhhhh boy we're going places with this! Up about 4 3/4% in the last 5 weeks to finally turn my arrows green instead of red this year to date. I did not like the lack of response in my portfolio the past week so I've gone back to 100% Cash ... 0% Stock... Back to the drawing board!
Hi Tom, Re: Lofty,
Janus Funds had an All-Star lineup of managers back in the 80's and 90's... Bailey(founder 1969), Craig, Marsico, Hayes, Lambert, I've never seen a team like that before or since... Beating the market not fully invested was a great goal to have and execute back in the day but all things change... With AIM, and AIM like systems that's exactly what we are trying to do here... You've done quite well over the span of time holding cash most of the time... Waiting on a friend down in Florida to send me a "HOT" stock idea to trade... Grin... Best regards, Ken
Hi Tom,
Rough sledding over here so far this year... Not much action just lots of wheel spinning... No cash register ringing today... I remember one of my mutual fund managers from the 1980's once said " If I can't beat the market averages being just 80% invested then I must not own the right stocks"... That's how I feel in 2017 so far... I'll see what I can do to turn it around... Congrats on your strong Q1 and the run up so far Q2... Best regards, Ken
Futures up...
Maybe we can ring the cash register today... We'll see... Profit from your ideas!
Hi Tom, Re: SDOG...
Have you seen the TV commercial for this fund? Interesting concept and spinning off a nice dividend... Best regards, Ken
Hi Adam,
Same here too... Best regards, Ken
Hi Steve,
Great to see you back on the board! Best regards, Ken

Update...
As we near the end of quarter 1 of 2017 I'm up +1.46% so far... Just above break even with 89% in stock and 11% left in the cash barrel... Sooooo I'm way off the VWave cash recommendation at this point in the year... Profit from our ideas!

Hi Jon, re: Under...

Just saying...
1 + 1 = 2 ..... "Profit from your ideas"
Hi SF... Ummm No
Actually my math makes perfect sense... "Profit from your ideas"
Tripped.. CFBK
Tripped a sell signal at $3.46 right after the open... Tripped a buy signal at $3.20 and bought'em back plus a few minutes later... Stock openings can be wild!!! " Profit from your ideas"
Hi SF Re: Odd Math,
The math on the way down always "Hurts" more than on the way up... Take your $100... Gain 50% = $150... Now lose 50% = $75... Same percentage gain and loss but now you are down 25% from where you started... Plus $75 now needs a 33.33% gain to get you back to even at $100... Makes taking some cash off the table on the way up so important... "Profit from your ideas"
Update #10... Annual...
After one year with the Pocket Change Portfolio idea here are the current numbers after 53 weeks... Annualized Return = 131.84%... Simple Return = 97.31%... ROCAR = 121.88%... Avg at Risk = 79.84%... 69 Buys... 64 Sells... Stock = 73%... Cash = 27%... New all time highs... I believe this to be the 2nd time ever I've doubled my money in one year... The other time was when I held a mutual fund called 20th Century Ultra back in the 1990's... First time ever self directed though... Stocks used in the portfolio were as follows... LSG - KIQ - IGXT - GORO - CLGRF - LIQT - FSI - AXAS - USDP - LEE - TGD - GPL - GSS - XBKS - SVU - ODP - CFBK... If only in hind sight if I could of bought only the winners and never bought any of the losers (grin), but it takes both to make a market... "Profit from your ideas"
Boom Baby!!! CFBK,
Just hit $3.00!!! Up 30% today.... 3 sells in one day... I took some cash and jacked the PC on the 2nd sell just like the first one today, 3rd sell signal today I just jacked up the PC... "Profit from your ideas"
Sell CFBK today,
Had a sell on CFBK Tue after I bought in on Monday... Bought shares back on Wed on the drop... Sold some more today for cash and I raised up my Portfolio Control. "Profit from your ideas"...
Hi Tom, re: v-wave,
Is that our highest v- wave reading ever? V-wave got me leaning towards sells as cash, and not raising the PC... I might just let the PE ratio be my guide on that though... Need to give it more study... Best regards, Ken
Hi SF, Sell CFBK...
After being in CFBK only 24 hours I already tripped a sell signal. I rung up the cash register and took some profit. Congrats on your SLW sale... "Profit from your ideas"... Best regards, Ken

Hi Ocroft,Toof Re: New Position
Interesting ideas Ocroft... I was searching for a replacement this past weekend since I went 100% cash last Friday... I read the back and forth between you and Toof... My favorite stocks to trade in has always been the banks and financials... So after reading your posts, I decided to look for a bank pre 2007 crash that was a high flyer, but since became a deep diver, but has shown signs of recent life and recovery with the rise in rates... Low PE would be good too... So after much sifting I took a position today in CFBK, Central Federal Bank... This stock hit a high of $90 on 6/15/2004, traded in the $50-$70 range for years 03-06, fell to the low $1's and has just now crossed the $2 mark on the way up... Now that's what I call a deep diver! Nice run up since mid $1's with better volume too... MACD has crossed, as you suggest, all be it weeks ago and at a lower price... But with a PE of 10 I think the price was worth jumping at... So I'm in... Best regards
100% All Cash,
Last Friday I went back to a 100% all cash position. My portfolio was not performing as expected. So on to my next positions soon... With Jon posting the V-wave at or near record highs I need to tread lightly based on that... "Profit from your ideas"...

Hi Allen,
Finviz is a good search tool for sure. So many parameters it's mind boggling at times. I sold out of XBKS yesterday and didn't play the split so I'm sure it will go up at least 20% today, grin. Merry Christmas, Ken
Hi Bob,
I did know about that and you are correct they will cash you out of small odd lots and just put the cash in your account. I did not wait for the split as I sold all my shares of XBKS yesterday. Thanks for posting that rule it is an important part of reverse splits... Merry Christmas, Ken
