Century Reports Record Gold Production At San Juan Gold Mine In Peru
Thursday, March 25, 2010 Press Release
Century Reports Record Gold Production At San Juan Gold Mine In Peru
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Century Mining Corporation ("Century" or the "Company") (TSX-V: CMM) is pleased to release its Fourth Quarter Production Report for the quarter ended December 31, 2009 for its San Juan Gold Mine in Peru. The Company is planning to release its 2009 audited financial and detailed operating results in April 2010.
"The Company is pleased to see continued operating success at the San Juan Gold Mine in Peru, and we extend our appreciation to the hard working team at the minesite and to our corporate office staff in Lima. Century Mining continues to consider the interest of employees' quality of life in Peru by continuing to provide electrical power, improving fresh water and sanitary services, replacing roofs and upgrading living quarters," commented Margaret M. Kent, President & CEO Century Mining.
Fourth quarter gold production, considering in-process inventory, was 4,744 ounces (versus 3,347 ounces in Q4 2008), bringing the total for 2009 to 17,036 ounces. This is a production record for the Company at San Juan and a 19.5% increase over 2008. Site development activities at the San Juan gold mine are focused on increasing the storage capacity at the tailings embankment by an additional 10 years, defining additional gold resources for future mine planning, and expanding the annual production by 50% by 2012. The Company is currently preparing modernized equipment to send to the San Juan Gold Mine from the Lamaque Gold Mine in the latter half of 2010. Century is also reviewing multiple exploration prospects within the large 220 square kilometer land package controlled by the Company for future exploration programs planned for late 2010 and early 2011.
Production Guidance
Production guidance for 2010 at the San Juan Gold Mine has been set at 18,000 - 20,000 ounces of gold at cash costs of US$550-US$570/oz, with a subsequent increase to approximately 24,000 ounces in 2011, and to 30,000 ounces in 2012.
Greg McCoach Picks US Silver

GM: I don't mind sharing a pick or two in interviews such as this, but I need to protect my subscribers who pay for my services, so I will talk about two......
U.S. Silver Corp. (TSX.V:USA) is another company I will talk about. I think they are well positioned to take advantage of higher silver prices that I see in our near future. The company expects to produce upwards of 2.7 million ounces of silver in 2010 at an average cash cost of roughly $14.00 an ounce. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to see how quickly the profits will add up as silver prices go to higher levels, especially the kinds of levels I predict in the next few years.
U.S. Silver does have more shares outstanding then I would like to see, but this is one silver junior that I think will do well as the precious metals bull market continues to unfold.

Yup, those are facts.
Explain this one?
All miners like to dilute and Canadian companies like to dilute even more. It's intrinsic behavior for them. It's what they do.
OK, they may not LIKE to dilute, but dilute they do. Are you saying they don't? Come on. Canadian small cap miners have a reputation for dilution. That's not a ridiculous statement. That's a FACT.
This is a generalization. It is not a fact. You never post facts, just a lot of complaining and false accusations. You have complained a lot about management. Why don't you tell us exactly how they should get the share price to triple? Give us a plan?
I agree with Cork--if they invite e-mail discourse on their site then they should have the courtesy of replying. IF they only accept calls, then that's fine. Say that on the site too.
Yes, agreed.
I for one prefer e-mail because you can get the answer in black and white--and copy exactly what was said onto this board, for example. Often times the calls are forgettable boilerplate or vaguely worded sales pitches and reassuring jargon. But I suppose a phone call is more safe for the company.
I find it annoying, too. I much prefer a well written email response but US Silver fails in this regard.
David Bond said this was a steal at .40 a few years ago.
He was clearly wrong, obviously.
Yeah, I got in too soon. My crystal ball wasn't working. I'm not clairvoyant or a genius.
Who is? One makes their bet but there are no guarantees.
I got my average down, but this has been a laggard. No two ways about it.
Can't disagree with that, US Silver is a laggard....
It won't go anywhere unless silver breaks $20.
I think it could and probably will once the shaft is running and the production increases to 250,000 oz per month. Add 20 bucks to that and this will go....IMHO
Cork said it best--it's slow to rise when silver goes up and the first to fall when silver pulls back. There hasn't been a run.
This is true but why is it like this?
There's still a lot to like here. Yeah, I know it will take time. I've been here for over two years. If someone wants to accuse me of being a whiner and impatient, so be it. I'll give this a few more months before moving on. Dead money can stay dead a long time.
I think you're just stating your opinion, nothing wrong with that.
My main fear is this: All miners like to dilute and Canadian companies like to dilute even more. It's intrinsic behavior for them. It's what they do.
This is a ridiculous statement. Pure utter BS. No company likes to dilute and Canadians are no different than anyone else.
US Silver will have to raise cash somehow to develop their properties. Unless they find financing that doesn't affect the share structure, there WILL be more dilution. Let's hope this occurs at a time of rising silver and great drill results. My biggest concern is how much they'll dilute.
I don't believe any of this and I base this on my conversations with US Silver.
They have unlimited authorized. Bad sign. Maybe they have that to fend off any hostile take over.
I have seen that tactic before. It's not uncommon.
Yup, I'd like to see some share price appreciation, too. I know what you mean about some of these stocks going waaaaay higher post 2008 and some that are really lagging but all the reasons I bought US Silver for are still valid so I can't see myself exiting just yet. Further, they're executing their plan and things to me are looking better all the time. The only thing that isn't looking as good as I would like is the share price but I think that it will come in time.
I've phoned US Silver's IR guy before and always got to talk to him. He rarely replies with an email other than to say "call me", but he does answer.
Those that have purchased more than 15 months ago this has got to suck. The thing about all this that has me wondering is perhaps US Silver was over valued prior to this time? Otherwise, one would think the share prce should be much higher.
I have to admit I'm somewhat perplexed by the fact that the share price is not much higher but given I'm in the camp that first bought in December 2008 it's much more bearable. Since I purchased I've seen some good progress, most notably the shaft repair. I think that was a great move that should really help in the long run. They've made some other adjustments and to be honest I don't know what else they can do with the cards they hold. If anyone has any clear plans US Silver should execute I'd like to hear them?
What is it that management could do to satisfy all of you that are not happy with the share price?
Some have stated they've been in this stock for 2 years. If so, those purchases were made right in the middle of a major downtrend and the stock has not yet recovered to those levels. In my opinion this would be a total annoyance. However, if you purchased this stock just 8 months later, OctNovDec 2008 then the stock performance doesn't look bad at all. Is it possible that some of the people here are a victim of poor timing when purchasing the stock and that management is doing all they can to bring value to shareholders?
Boo..Down 1/2 cent to close at .435 I'm sure I'll get over it. :)
Looking for .80 to 1.20 ........... What timeframe are predicting for this? I'm certain that CMM will trade in that range, I'm just not exactly sure when?
