I see this company booked only a $5,600 reserve against A/R for uncollectible accounts at both 12/31/07 and 9/30/08.
This amounts to less than 1% of A/R. So, if the reserve was less than $5,600, where did the $208,000 come from?
You cannot have it BOTH ways.

Wow, and I thought I was the contrarian. Tim, someone is MORE negative than myself?
LoL
First of the all, the company and/or officers are defendants. Then we have cash flow, contingent liabilites, and of course corporate image.
You don't agree?
New Hampshire bound next week. Anyone in that area?
This fella predicts 12,000 on the Dow by the end of March. I hope he is right, but I doubt it.

Chevy, that is correct. Trials are expensive and since the summary judgement was overturned, I'm interested in the outcome.
Did anyone ask Dean this question?
Frank, very good information from someone who understands the process.
Thanks.
chevy, do you know if the case involving Medison Company (Plaintiffs) has gone to trial yet?
I've reviewed the Ninth Circuit's opinion and the 34 page document where they believe the District court erred in their summary judgement decision.
Thanks in advance.
I've just read the recent proxy, and I see that authorized shares will likely increase by 50% (500 to 750 million).
How quickly will this company need that additional capital? I'm trying to gauge the potential dilutive share value.
Thanks in advance.
Dean, I've been doing some research here, and I see that you've sold approximately 450,000 shares in Mid-December 2008.
Seems like a large block, what's happening?
That's what I'm thinking. Shorting the 7-10 or maybe the 30 with PST or TBT. If yields climb, these should do very well, since bond prices will fall. Right now I think there is a good deal of cash in higher yielding corporates, so PST and TBT should not much right now.
Going to them put on the radar for now. I want to see what happens when this $1 Trillion hits the street.
Long IVV $84.42. I decided against shorting Treasuries right now.
About 90% long positions, and 10% cash.
When is the next FDA meeting planned for product review?
Do you feel the 7-10 year Treasury yields will increase or decline from here? Also, do you anticipate a yield decline on the 7-10 without the Fed lowering (cannot get much lower) the Fed Funds Rate?
Unloaded QID at $60.95. I now hold only long positions and cash. Going to research PST and TBT now. Once that $1 trillion moves into the economy, I think this may trigger some inflation in Q2 and Q3.
What do you think?
EZ, thanks for sending that article on the Ultra's. Very interesting stuff.
Thanks for posting that.
dean, can you expand on your relationship with the FDA as it relates to this company?
TIA

Hey all, nice start to 2009 for those holding long positions. I was down 9% for the year ending 12/31/08.
The short positions kept the losses to a minimum.
How y'all doing?
I was thinking the same thing. The problem is credit scores. For the one property I'm refinancing I was told that my rate would be 5.125% (fixed 30) if my middle FICO was 740 or higher. If the FICO is 720-739, the rate is 5.25%.
Those with FICO's above 700 were once considered excellent. Now a 705 score may not even be considered for a loan.
Slim picken's.
Tim, I hear ya. I've watched these things for awhile just to make sure they traded.
I'm thinking that yields will move north in 2009, dropping bond prices which would be very favorable to PST and TBT.
What are your thoughts on PST and TBT? Also looking at oil ETF's. Refinancing some property loans too, gotta love those low rates!!!
I received a FAX blast SPAMMING this security at the office today.
BEWARE!

Very interesting, and something I hadn't considered. Thanks for posting that!
Been busy as hell lately plus travelling. One of the after hour CNBC shows now mentions DRYS regularly.
Possibly entering the cruise business if heard correctly?
I hope so, then again volume isn't always the best indicator. If there are both buyers and sellers (short, etc.), it can be tough to evaluate.
DayTraders are back! I enjoyed trading this way myself for awhile.

Fuzzy, have you covered your short positions? I'm still holding one ETF short position and about twenty "long" ETF's.
I still believe there will be a ton of lawsuits by company participants and/or the company itself against the fiduciaries that manage the investments.
There is a safe harbor option in all of these plans, and that harbor is the money market fund. Very few partipants realize this.
Regarding 401-k's.........

I agree. This is an ultra, so the move to $95 may happen within a 30 minute time span.
QID is my sole short play (for now).
For now I've stopped watching the trading volume. I'm more interested in trading ranges.
Sorry for the delay, been crazy at work. Never specifically considered a short play on oil, but if I did, I would probably play DUG.
A 2X short is enough risk for me, I would personally avoid a 3X.
Interesting, and thanks!
Purchased QID at $81.49, my first short play since Mid-October. Target upper 80's, and stop loss at $79 or so.
