What does the current SP and unloading of shares mean? Tampa, is that you?
Even moreso. The TCG would love for themselves to be the sole definition of Trusted Computing. They are not, at least not currently. And until we see them eating their own food, they are not even close. Nice try? sheeesh....
Awk;
I could be wrong ut the term Trusted Computing takes on many different translations predicated on who you speak to. I work daily with one very extremely important player in this space and TC has nothing to do with TPM's. I believe that holds true with other companies as well.
"It's as much to do with LENGTH and the appearance of being exhaustive as anything else." Boy you got that part down.
Dismal Marketing (ala Kay's PR. No one is aware. TCG folks don't even use it. Supposed to define what the market wants to ENGR/MFR.)
plus
Dismal Sales (yup, THOUSANDS of Dell sales folks trained regarding Wave's products - remember that whopper?)
equals
Declining Stock Price
equals
Bad Investment
equals
What's the next new product du jour from Wave?
equals
Obscurity (vs. Ubiquity)
How about because the marketing guy has failed selling the TCG and the market on our product. Yes, he failed at marketing. Ya think that may be a good enough reason??!!
Go DOW!
Go Naz!
Go Wavx???
Very good question. I think a serious Wavoid should investigate this and then publicly announce the familial connection.
Dell can eye China all it wants. China will NEVER eye foreign TPM's or TPM managing software.
Geez guys, does it really matter at this point anyway? It's too late. Wave missed the boat. SKS will go down with her at the helm.
With all due respect but what the heck could be more important than keeping the company solvent? The company is worth less than a buck, has lost 40% or it's value in as many days, is on the brink of financial collapse, and you are saying it is more important for SKS to go planting long-term flags than keeping the compnay solvent? Let's see now, exactly how long has he been planting long term flags now? Try a decade. A decade and 1/3 of a BILLION dollars later and again, you are saying he should be out there planting more "flags"???!!! I guess that also means that I no longer need my meds.
A true long on this board is >100 years.
yes, 14 years later and we're still too early...LOL
Snackman,
What I found most interesting in this article is of course the portion to failed to highlight:
However, for the agencies with high security needs (like the government), the lack of FIPS 140-2 certification and encryption mode disclosure makes it a difficult (if not impossible) purchase.
I belive the FIPS issue was raised before by some on this board and it was discouraged and shrugged off. Weren't we supposdly put on the fast track? Evidently not fast enough to ramp up[ sales and preclude some of these negative comments. Hop eit gets better.
Zen, thank you. Your posts are more grounded in reality than others. We shall certainly see if the yardstick is 36", or if it looks exactly like 3" but SKS again tells us it is 1.5 miles as he normally does.
With all due respect, I've been reading that and hearing that from the CEO for years and well, you know the rest of the story. Hopefully it will change but I'm not ready to throw paint on this or accept someone else's unsubstantiated reasons for doing so. Here we sit at barely over a buck.
You mean until the next pipe? I could be wrong but seems like a pattern - a strong one.
Except for a company like Wavx who needs to discount a Pipe at nearly 40 percent to get a measley $3.5 million. Again, too much money going towards undeserved bonuses. I vote for resource shortage first; product pipeline incompetence second; and demand outstrippping supply about one hundred and fourty third. We shall see soon enough.
Their being low on financial resources is a fact. If I were them I would run a very LEAN inventory operation as well. Smart thing to do. This OOS (out-of-stock) situtation has been existing for quite some time now.
The "automatic" performance bonus is way out whack and THAT is fact.
Now, by the same token, some the other posts here were speculating things were OOS due to demand and THAT is not fact yet you singled my post out. Why is that?
Let's be fair Sir.
I would hazard a guess that Wave simply did/does not have the resources to make many and allow them to sit on a shelf (and it is just the Software CD BTW). Such a large precentage of the resources required to pay the huge performance bonuses and all.
He also dreams he sells.
Thank you. The sun may not rise tomorrow but you have to have a much better excuse than "stealth" as proposed by ASI to convince me it won't happen again tomorrow.
Disagree. I feel in this environment, announcing (with minimal fanfare) that you have taken steps to secure your data is a plus. I am not buying the "use absolute stealth or it will make you a target" philosophy. IMHO, I think this is an excuse .
Hi DD,
By reading your previous email I assume your from around the Fountain Valley area (good Vietnamese restaurants). I'm in Hermosa.
Anyway, with you on most of what you say below except for the point on institutional ownership. Been around this board lurking for awhile and I beleive the point has came up many times that the amount of stock required to be called an institution is not very much. Heck, I'm an institution by Wave's standards (and unfortunatelky that is not very much at all).
Great news for Wave! However, I need some help please:
Seagate said "provider(S)". Who else besides Wave?
Also, I my investigation reveals nothing regarding Wave being on an external HDD?! Can someone provide reference as to which external drive we are on?
It is coming!
Well Captain, sorry to say but I don't think this means a thing to Wave. Appreciate the good intent though!
Has anyone made a connection yet between the Blackberry Smartphone and a mobile TPM? I've heard a rumor but cannot find a link yet connecting the two. Thanks.
Weby,
Should it be FDE 2? Just guessing.
