the way I see it
Account size $3.11M
January return: 1.86%
January Revs: $57846
Annual Revs (projected): $694152
PPS before split, neglecting conversion:
=Annual Revs x 10 / 5billion shares (pre-conversion)
=694152 x 10/ 5e9
=0.001388
PPS after split, neglecting conversion: $0.243
This is approximately 1.2 x 0.175
My guess is they didn't want to split until they had numbers to estimate revenues.
In the end, I think converting or not converting, either way is okay.
Assuming no more dilution, and that the pps reaches fair value.
All my opinions. please do the math for yourself and let me know if I made an error, as I did this really quickly.
Peace,
gbathat
141 showing up on CTA search database!!
However, the results page is blank... should be up soon!
www.barclayhedge.com
BigG,
I think that was just a testing account... trying different strategies etc... they may not have been trying ot maximize returns or anything... just testing different strategies, probably infrequently and using small chunks of money.
just my guess.
I'm hoping for 10%.

Hi Peeved,
I got the impression that Penson was a potential client based on the code once posted on Kaitrade's site.
I have no details regarding Penson's current Excel-based trading capabilities, but I was encouraged by the fact that one of their systems does attempt to interface with Excel. I have no idea how old that feature is, so I will assume it is/was not with Spooztoolz, but it may represent a seem for integration.
have a good one,
Gbathat
penson... excel trading connection (Penson was one of the firms mentioned in the code on Kaitrade's website before the site was taken down). Penson's technology division is nexatech.

Hello Ten,
Someone called them through 141 Capital's number a little while back... I forget who though.
Questions.
Is Kaitrade still responsible for selling and supporting Spooztoolz?
Is Spooztoolz still being integrated into Bloomberg by mid-year?
Will we see financials anytime soon?
How is Spooz sustaining itself financially right now?
Thank you very, very, very much.
Good luck!
Gbathat
We Use Spooz still on website.
REmember, that original contract was for SWARM... not sure if that is being used or not in any way.
Gbathat
Thanks Klon,
That doesn't sound too good to me.
Emphasis on "non-binding" might indicate the deal was conditional on performace of Spooz/Kaitrade... and since Kaitrade seems to be out of the picture now, the deal may have fallen through, and perhaps Mike the BB sales guy was out of the loop. I can only hope that this is not the case.
Peace,
Gbathat
Peeved, Bloomberg has confirmed they will have Spooztoolz integrated into their system mid-year.
They did not say Kaitrade Accelerator
Here is a thought, maybe Bloomberg said, we'll integrate it ourselves... Kaitrade is taking too long or not capable.
Otherwise, how could John be working on developing new platforms (sounds like a sizable project to me) if Kaitrade were still acting as the seller/supporter of Spooztoolz?
I found John's blog rather curious and vague. I'm sure that if he develops something too similar to Spooztoolz, he will get sued.
Remember, we got those calls from Bloomberg AFTER Spooztoolz was removed from the Kaitrade site... perhaps there is a connection.
There are too many unkowns to despair at this point. What we do actually know is that Spooztoolz is being integrated into BB's system. And we all knows who owns Spooztoolz.
Where/if Kaitrade is still in the equation, who knows. The license was not exclusive.
Peace to all,
Gbathat
That is good that they're no longer seeking investment... very good.
Bloomberg reps have informed several here of their intent to integrate with Spooztoolz by end of Q2/early Q3... doesn't sound dead to me.
good lookin out
Gbathat
thanks PhillyMike!
They sound fairly eager to get the results out, and I am happy to hear this towards the end of the month when most of their record has been established for January.
Could be exciting next week... just nice to hear things are progressing.
Peace,
Gbathat
yup, of course, and all those other established trading software companies are scams too! =D
good lookin out folks.
Gbathat
Is this site legit?

SpoozToolz is Excel add-in software that enables Excel to perform robust complex analysis functions, multiple cell referencing, and automated trading functions with live streaming data. SpoozToolz will be released Jan 15 for distribution through brokerages worldwide. We have had many requests from TD AMERITRADE trading customers for SpoozToolz to be intergrated to the TD AMERITRADE platform so they may trade directly from Excel. SpoozToolz graphical user interface is independent of any particular execution provider and offers users the ability to connect to their own preferred electronic execution platform, broker or clearing firm.
That is exactly what was on the IB site last year, maybe still there.
Any thoughts?
or this...
http://www.worldwidestocktransfer.com/FINRA%20Dec%202008.pdf
"The trading symbol of OTCBB and Other OTC issues will be changed concurrent with all corporate
actions.Corporate Data Operations will assign a new trading symbol with the effectiveness of the
corporate action. We DO NOT accept requests for new symbols."
What would the corporate action be? On the 141 website, it says, "As of January 21, 2009,the Company's name for trading purposes was changed to 141 Capital, Inc. and its trading symbol was changed to OFON."
from wikipedia...
A corporate action is an event initiated by a public company that affects the securities (equity or debt) issued by the company. Some corporate actions such as a dividend (for equity securities) or coupon payment (for debt securities (bonds)) may have a direct financial impact on the shareholders or bondholders; another example is a call (early redemption) of a debt security. Other corporate actions such as stock split may have an indirect impact, as the increased liquidity of shares may cause the price of the stock to rise. Some corporate actions such as name change have no direct financial impact on the shareholders
or perhaps related to this...
http://www.securitiesindustry.com/news/22974-1.html
how about this MC?
Can an issuer reserve a symbol?
No, symbols may not be reserved for OTC securities, nor can we honor requests for specific issue symbols. Additionally, once a symbol is assigned, we reserve the 'right' to change the symbol should a NASDAQ applicant want to use it. There can be no guarantee that an OTC issuer will retain their symbol indefinitely
http://www.otcbb.com/faqs/otcbb_faq.stm
are we uplisting???
thanks Klon for the dd (and Game and others)
It is exciting to me that BB is talking... what triggered that string of calls responding to various emails from weeks ago? My hope is that something got finalized, that they were just sitting on those emails until some event triggered the response.
End of Q2 is still a long way off though! Hopefully we'll hear something before, and hopefully it will be a lot bigger than 1200 screens:D... maybe some full integration into the standard tradebook package... probably wishful thinking, but could explain the delays.
peace to all,
gbathat
It has been that way for several months... I found it suspicious as they gave me three different reasons for the policy.
I am switching over to Zecco.
was 141 trading group llc the company set up by Paul & Co to test strategies?
"The objective is to achieve better than market average returns by selecting CTAs and Equity Funds that use strategies that combine equity positions with derivative based investment strategies."
seems possible, but the ror reported didn't seem to spectacular... or am I missing something here?
happy mlk day to all
MLK, more than a day.
Peace,
Gbathat
I downloaded them, could open the help file of one, not looking like Spooz-related info...
I also downloaded their latest Excel Add-in and scanned through the help file... did not appear to be trading-platform oriented.
The integrated excel-based product idea seems like a natural progression though.
Peace,
Gbathat
more soup... any thoughts?

sorry, it is http://www.barclayhedge.com
it's linked on the 141 webpage in their PRs section... they list a lot of hedge funds and CTA's there, so I think it is a fairly common venue for publicizing track records
I don't think it is our 141, since those results are posted in the hedgefund section of the site.
Our 141 results would be in the CTA section.
The June 2008 start is peculiar, perhaps they were trading in a practice account with their own money first... wasn't that discussed at some point? But I doubt that they would be reporting that publicly. So I assume that is not our trading record, at this point.
gbathat
at barclayhedge.com it tells you how many of the CTA funds have reported december results... about 70% as of yesterday.
so 141 isn't alone in not reporting yet
also, it is their first time going through this process so it may be a little slow.
and didn't they start trading on the 10th? or was that just the pr date. if they did start on the 10th, then they might not be able to publish monthly results until february.
peace,
gbathat
anyone get an explanation for this?
hypotheses welcome too...
tia,
gbathat
"users can form custom measures including spreads, sums, ratios and any ad-hoc equation using potentially multiple inputs. These new measures can be imbedded into additional new measures"
These concepts seem consistent with some of things Spooztoolz can do, right? I'm getting out of my league, though, so I'll let the resident experts pitch in on that...
peace,
gbathat
thanks for finding this philly... interesting indeed, as it relates to BBs product that launched not too long after the 60-day window, right?
It sounds a little different to me than the Spooztoolz Dashboard, though... perhaps more oriented towards monitoring than trading. But who knows what might when you combine Spooz ideas with Bloomberg resources...
The exciting part of that Bloomberg PR was the integrated package concept... all the strong Bloomberg tools integrated seemlessly with a trading system. I hope that trading system, or one of the trading system choices, is Spooztoolz, but we'll have to wait and see.
peace,
gbathat
it's called speculative investing for a reason
if facts were immediately apparent, then the pps would reach its fair value or thereabouts
but the facts are not apparent, so please stop criticizing people for speculating and instead argue the points they are trying to make

TT, TDAmeritrade, IB...
anyone understand that code?
not a shabby group:D
Thanks Shine.
After doing some reading, I don't think it incorporates spooztoolz.
I was just struck by their language describing the product... ease of strategy development etc
I did not recall seeing any of that last time I went through their site, probably half a year ago, so I don't know if these features are new, though the autotrader itself is undoubtedly an old product... could still be getting facelifts here and there.
Peace,
Gbathat
competition or customer?
http://www.tradingtechnologies.com/autotrader.aspx
Thanks Capn.
I guess I'll just have to wait and see just who Spooz will or won't work with:D Hard to do, but a good excerise in patience I guess.
Anybody who is competition now might also be a customer someday.
I was looking around the IB website, and it seems like things have changed around there quite a bit. All of their Excel info is a little trickier to access... I could only find it in their webinars section.
Take care,
Gbathat

I don't think you were being obtuse at all... very good work. That announcement didn't hit any of our radars as far as I know... very curious indeed.
Now I am really looking forward to some updates/financials...
Take care.
nice find...
we did get a pr relating to this back in February... certainly looks promising, being the same exact name and all.
"AlgoServer has already been deployed to selected brokers and 3rd party
developers providing them with all the speed and reliability of a conventionally
programmed language (including C++ and Linux) thereby fueling growth in new
markets for SpoozToolz add-ons and algorithmic trading systems"
thanks for sharing your dd
Gbathat
hey bird, nice to see you
after looking through the bloomberg materials this am, thanks to Nuk's guidance, I think it is possible that they might be trying to make a completely integrated product- news, data analysis, trading- much of it tied into Excel.
How sweet would that be for us? How many of those 250K BB pro subscribers might start using Spooztoolz? Certainly more than 1200, imo!
All just speculation at this point.
peace,
gbathat
Not sure if this excel add-in that nuk found is a trading tool though... hopefully!!

Nice summary dated 9/2008... sure looks like Spooztoolz would integrate well with this product;)
