I am an equal opportunity scorner. I took major rations of shit for defending her family during the election, even though i agree with very little of her politics, if any. Her resume is thicker than obama had at the time of his election, which is still a bit scary to me. But i don't want to rehash the last election, it's over, and we are on a trajectory that has an unknown outcome. i am not sure the looting of our wealth by a select few is over. at least in a few cases, some progress looks like it is being made.

You know, back in the good old days, windfall rich people paid a lot more for the good of the order. Now they keep most of it and pig their way to more. I am not a socialist by any means, but the demise of the middle class was not an accident.

But finding someone that can rise up without the corporate sponsorship that both parties have now would be incredibly tough, sort of like someone winning a NASCAR race with the family station wagon... corporate sponsorship has become everything in that venue, too.

The catalyst that would allow such a dagger to be driven into the black little hearts of corporate-dom would probably have to be the tried and true mover of the masses... fear. And its flaming front, anger.

Not 9/11 type fear that was disproportionate to the actual threat (take that, duct tape salesmen) but one that actually would be some risk to the average Joe or Joette, and has them so angry they would be willing to take a risk.

Such as another huge fuel price spike that would cripple trucking. So that the supply of lettuce in North Dakota in the winter would be cost-prohibitive, and only the top 5% of the wealthy were the only ones that could afford imported beer. Take away some luxuries, and people might be roused to toss the bums out. Some luxuries are already gone, but i am talking wholesale lifestyle wallops. A huge wave of anger dspair might enable someone from outside the system to find an opening. The economic debacle happened too late in the election cycle last time.

But another preturbation a year or so ahead of an election, and i could see it happening.Palin, her pandering to the churchers would be a non-starter. Not enough people believe in magical water and stuff anymore to really make a difference if oil was the issue. Blowing up muslims has been tried, and people are tired of that approach.

Just a few random thoughts about how a wild scenario could come about is more than it takes to toss the whole idea of Palin aside. She was a figurative one-night stand for the McCain campaign, and is sort of like a pet rock these days.

Paranoia is by definition an unfounded fear. If anyone thinks that Palin has a snowballs chance at being elected, they are being neither rational nor fearful. They are being paranoid.

She resigned her job to make some coin, and is cashing in with her book and speaking engagements, and after her appearances on Oprah, she will probably do a "MILFs of Alaska" calendar or something; she is beyond doing a reality show because her version of reality wouldn't sell Geico Insurance very well.

At one point i battled the way she and her family were trashed by the media, which she didn't really deserve at the time, it had a stench of sexism, much the way hillary got pilloried at various points. But her politics are just of convenience, and she must hang out with some pretty inconvenient people, because she doesn't even resonate with Swine Flu viruses.

Now that the media has laid off her family stuff, and focussed on what she is actually saying, she has been shown to be an empty-headed lightweight that actually isn't that hot anyway. And since sexist hammering at her is apparently Politically Correct.....Imagine waking up with that whiny voice?
