i am not in disagreement with that. i just took exception to your assertion that the ice sheets were all retreating, and tried to show you that it was not universally true.
But sea ice in the north could be viewed as cherry-picking, too. 90% of the earth's fresh water is on the continental ice sheet of antarctica, which is the exact place that you say i was "cherry picking" and it is not retreating. (the western peninsula is, but on balance antarctica is NOT retreating)
start here, there is a ton of information out there on this subject.
the basics are: "The Antarctic wintertime ice extent increased...at a rate of 0.6% per decade" from 1979 to 2006, says Donald Cavalieri, a senior research scientist at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland.
http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn14724-antarctic-sea-ice-increases-despite-warming.html
as to the isostatic rebound information for continental antarctica, i didn't save a link, it was widely disseminated, particularly in the Australian press and scientific community.
actually, the measurements of the extent of ice and thickness over time are facts, not theory. One recent adjustment to the figures was that the amount of isostatic rebound from the end of the last ice age in antarctica was slower than was previously thought, which means, without the lithic surface rebound, that ice was accumulating at a slighter faster rate than former calculations would have indicated.
What is theory is why it is occurring. Many climatologists think that global warming is increasing the amount of moisture in the air due to warmer ocean temperatures, so more precipitation is making it to antarctica. Since virtually all of it falls as snow, it accumulates, and adds to the continental ice sheet. Even if global warming raised the median temperature from -50 to -30 (a whopping 20 degree temperature rise), it would still be ice, and more of it.
In the Arctic north, however, thawing DOES occur, and a few degrees make a big difference. Sea ice is much more ephemeral, so yeah, the ice sheets in the north that are on the edge of the freeze/thaw balance are pegging the thaw side; so if you were a polar bear it would be time to do some estate planning.
So it is a danger to simplify that all the ice sheets are melting due to global warming; many of them aren't in the southern hemisphere, but it doesn't mean that global warming is not occurring, in fact, viewed in the proper context, it supports the idea.
and it is not news. it is blog bull****. They claim to have millions yet can't even afford a newswire release. Phony crap being spewed again by these crooks.
i can't even get past the number 1 on the list without calling baloney on it.
All PNMS stockholders have been directly advised of the changes in the BOD
total, unmitigated lie. I have been a stockholder since the PYPR days and i never received notice of anything. Good start, spin machine.
How many times have we been told that audited anything were to be produced, and never, nada, zilch. "it will be certified later".... LOL, where have we heard THAT one before? Zero credibility. And a track record of batting .000
And the crap about them having tested something... ROFL... they claimed to have launched a fricking exchange one time, and some stockholders on here had to try and help them get it to work. Which it didn't, doesn't, and never will.
All i see is pedro trying to distance himself from the scam. What happened to Finegan now... did they forget that story line?
Actually, the ice loss is primarily in the northern hemisphere.
Antarctica is losing some ice from its western peninsula, but the rest of antarctica, which is much larger than the area where there has been some ice shelf loss, is accumulating ice at an unusually high rate since 1979.
The sea ice loss in the north doesn't contribute to sea level changes, as it is floating in water already. (if you have a tumbler full of ice cubes floating in water, when the ice melts, the level of the water in the glass does change) Does that mean that climate change isn't happening? Nope, it just means to me that there are a lot of really complex feedback mechanisms that we shouldn't pretend to understand yet. Meltwater off of Greenland is NOT sea ice, so would have an impact on sea level, IF it is not offset by accumulation rates in antarctica... I am not trying to start an argument, i am just trying to point out that the science is mixed on certain points of climate change.
Antarctic ice growing, not shrinking

18 Apr 09 - "Ice is expanding in much of Antarctica, contrary to the widespread public belief that global warming is melting the continental ice cap.
"Antarctica has 90 per cent of the Earth's ice and 80 per cent of its fresh water.
If Antarctica has 90 percent of the Earth's ice, wouldn't that mean
that 90 percent of the world's glaciers are growing?
"East Antarctica is four times the size of west Antarctica and parts of it are cooling. The Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research report prepared for last week's meeting of Antarctic Treaty nations in Washington noted the South Pole had shown "significant cooling in recent decades".
"Australian Antarctic Division glaciology program head Ian Allison said sea ice losses in west Antarctica over the past 30 years had been more than offset by increases in the Ross Sea region, just one sector of east Antarctica.
"Dr Allison said there was not any evidence of significant change in the mass of ice shelves in east Antarctica nor any indication that its ice cap was melting. "The only significant calvings in Antarctica have been in the west," he said. And he cautioned that calvings of the magnitude seen recently in west Antarctica might not be unusual.
"Ice shelves in general have episodic carvings and there can be large icebergs breaking off -- I'm talking 100km or 200km long -- every 10 or 20 or 50 years."
"A paper to be published soon by the British Antarctic Survey in the journal Geophysical Research Letters is expected to confirm that over the past 30 years, the area of sea ice around the continent has expanded."

And sometimes its the elevator, sometimes the shaft. The Mayans were way off... their world collapsed about 600 years ago, so one way of looking at it is that their calendar was way too optimistic about their future.
I really think that a brake needs to be put on the obscene bonuses. The simplest and quickest way would be to tax all bonuses over a half million bucks or so at a rate of about 90%, which is just like the good old days before legalized looting.
Congress would have political cover, as every customer of B of A or virtually any large bank that has been gouged recently would cheer it. The only downside would be to the campaign contributions from the bankers... but dammit, someday the cycle needs to be broken. They have the votes but not the balls. Even the French are doing it, as you showed, for chrissakes.
hunter, your post was actually totally objective. It is fine for Pineapple Pedro to post to one blog or another, it soothes the gullible. But if he is really "going after" MT, which i consider to be a waste of time and resources, (as it has already been tried by some folks on here who are much more on the ball than pedro),
why doesn't he post a copy of the complaints filed with whatever agencies he is approaching? As you say, that would be a step toward credibility, much more than shouting into a blog that he "is pursuing it".
But in reality, it is just a fog screen for not conducting any real business, or even trying to. You know damned well that if he had so much as a hot dog stand, he would be touting it to high heaven.
I have nothing to lose here so the only way it can go is UP
Patently false. Ever seen a pink do a R/S before? a one for a thousand r/s would drop like a rock back to .0001 and you will lose more than you have already. At least if they don't do a R/S, there is a chance, albeit miniscule, that some sort of pump run could happen. But after the R/S, imagine having to have a thousand bagger just to get back to where it is now. I bet you could, if you put on your thinking cap.
I really dislike malice filled bitter people
well, then i guess you must really dislike pedro. he is going after MT, using our money, what a hero, instead of using his energies doing something that would generate revenue. He is putting vengeance above productivity, which you seem to think is just peachy.
I noticed the word "document" referring to his latest diatribe... If there was a single thing that was material or relevant to the company, it would have to released as news and not as a newsletter to the marks only. If it is anything significant, he would be in violation of the SEC's Reg FD, which only proves he is blowing smoke.
You say you would need a scanner to share the info you got in an email... uh... ever heard of cut and paste? I remember MT having scanner issues, too, and how did that turn out?
I will not respond to your statements about us being "hoodlums", etc. as the facts refute your noise. This baloney about going after MT is such a weak diversion from actually doing some work that it qualifies as comedy. MT has been turned into several agencies already, to no avail... do you really think a cuban will have more pull with the FBI or the SEC? Next time you talk with him, ask him about revenue producing projects...ROFL
of course not. it was all a scam. it was touted as a dividend, but not precisely title to anything. they danced around it but yet stated in terms of how many square meters per 10,000 shares or 100,000 shares owned, i don't remember precisely anymore.
Her lack of expansive views about virtually anything is easy to discern, and any interview is painful to watch, if you can hang on for more than a few sentences. She has very little to offer in regards to even a scintilla of leadership and certainly a huge zippo in the widsom category.
Which is why it is so astounding that she has been attacked rarely for that... she had her family trashed right out of the chute, the press was merciless, then put down because she is considered attractive, now because she rides a plane instead of train, she is a bumpkin from the sticks, etc.
Is it somehow un-PC to call her dimbulb personna into question, yet okay to nail everything around her, hoping for collateral damage? I have noticed that even Campbell Brown doesn't whine about Palin's children any more, so maybe the wave has crested.
Fine. I reserve the right to give her guff, and i don't even think she is all that attractive, as dumb women just ain't my type.
Her looks are okay, but good grief, her voice alone can cause salmon to go belly-up in alaskan rivers... But let's compare her to one of the other people that have been sneaking back into the news.... Mitt Romney. Mitt also has a three-lane voice that sounds as if it is an electronic creation direct from science fiction. He is right out of Central Casting for a Southpark character.
His tanning-bed skin tone rivals George Hamilton, the perennial world tanning champion. (come to think of it, Sarah is a bit dark for wintertime in alaska, too, tone-for-tone, her skin color rivals obama's, and he got his the old fashioned way, genetics, but i am drifting slightly, real alaskans would probably use spray-on tan)
At least the Mittster comes out and says that anyone who is not a CEO should eat hamster turds and be glad they are American hamster turds, or whatever the Corporatariat allows them to have. He has a sucky message of moneyed entitlement that is devoid of any compassion or recognition of human suffering, but it is not a new message or one that is inspiring to anyone other than his type, but at least he is not a dunce. Sarah would need to go do a little research to find out what a hamster is.
Anyway, long story short, i think it is refreshing that people are noticing that sarah is stunningly dense. I guess it is possible for Americans to see beyond someone's appearance for once.
you offer nothing but have a pitchfork in your hand. what is your point?
do you claim the incident never happened?
well good for you. I have a hard time remembering my first wife's name and her birthday. The date of MT's fiasco is lost to me.
but i was reading the board when she posted her (at the time) stunning revelations.
so what are the dates and names then, sherlock?
lol, they are even on another server, which is the downloaded entirety of the Panamersa Underground site, which i snuck into and got ejected from for not following the party line.
they were apoplectic at the MT actions at the time. especially the God ones.
it's been a heck of a ride. i think you were here back when our illustrious CEO, MT, took that television producer gal to a high-end casino down in central america to get some money from her. had her on the hook for some serious "investment" and after some minimal shennanigans, MT went down and started gambling at the tables... She didn't see him again for a couple days, until it was time to go back to miami, and lo and behold, he showed up broke and smelling of bad poker.
Which didn't really tick her off too much, but what she didn't like was being ditched cuzz she thought it was a fling situation. The angry one was Theresa.
She promptly came back and chronicled the whole situation on this message board, which caused some really great covering maneuvers on behalf of the company. no denials occurred, however, and that was the point where many holders of this stock got the heebie jeebies.
those were the days, we were getting robbed but there was high drama every day. they don't even have a coherent story line anymore... They need a plan, a business model, or perhaps a telephone to get things cooking again.
if the toll road is busy, you can always take your yacht through the Panama Canal project. And on your left you will see the Ostrich ranch, right across from the jatropha plantations. You have to beware of the Pirates though, as their theme is looting and wire fraud. The pirate's booty of hundreds of pounds of gold is safely buried in a vault on the corbici refuge, under tons of stored carbon in the Sequestration project.
my plot of land on the Corbici Refuge has gold on it. can't seem to get clear title though.
realistically, the only way out of this is for either Pedro and Finegan to get off their asses and actually do something, or for them to sell the shell or some variation of a merger with someone that needs a shell.
The reverse split is probably about the limits of their abilities to pull off, which will give us the opportunity to fall even farther below the present non-value.
Perhaps they could have got consultant work with Tiger Woods, as they are really good at coming up with cockamamie stories, and ol' Tiger became a Cheetah, and needed a good story, and fast. Another missed opportunity.
Pedro already beat the gold angle to death, claiming a horde of it during the PDR scam... wanted to swap the stock certificate PDR's for ones linked to some alleged gold PDR's, but of course, no evidence of actually having any gold surfaced. Because he forgot that the gold is still in the ground, or so he had claimed earlier.
All the blame seems to be going toward MT lately, and Pedro's inane blogging of outright lies seems to be getting a pass. Probably because people didn't buy in during that time period, so the fraud items didn't stick much in people's memories, they were sort of like a cloud of mosquitoes.
yeah, it's been a heck of a ride. i think you were here back when MT took that television producer gal to a high-end casino down in central america. had her on the hook for some serious "investment" and after some minimal shennanigans, MT went down and started gambling at the tables... She didn't see him again for a couple days, until it was time to go back to miami, and lo and behold, he showed up broke and smelling of bad poker.
Which didn't really tick her off too much, but what she didn't like was being ditched cuzz she thought it was a fling situation.
She promptly came back and chronicled the whole situation, which caused some really great discussions...LOL
those were the days, we were getting robbed but there was high drama every day. they don't even have a story line anymore...
" Quitters NEVER Win!
you must be referring to Finegan? seems to me he quit and snuck out the door with only an email last time. So i guess i can agree with your pronouncement about quitters.
well, i have no compelling reason to argue over this stuff, but just remember that this is Finegan's second try at it... he failed miserably the first time, accomplished nothing and resigned. Which is just par for the course for this gang.
there are a lot of Theresa Rodgers' out there, so she is not easy to track down.
Here is one that sounds like her, but who knows? She was supposedly selling real estate in florida, but maybe she moved on to nursing home care and embezzling from them:
"Police said Theresa Rodgers, 44, of Chicago, who had authorization to order drugs, was placing the orders, intercepting the deliveries and keeping the drugs for herself."
http://www.mysuburbanlife.com/stickney/news/x2128355153
Perhaps posting that will bring out one of her boyfriends to set the record straight.
yeah there was such an announcement... check the information from the last "shareholders" meeting.
if you can't find it, that just might be another clue about the crew that runs this scam.
good grief... an ivy league lawyer that doesn't know that the Attorney General is appointed by the PRESIDENT and not the supreme court?
The Attorney General is nominated by the President of the United States and takes office after confirmation by the United States Senate. He or she serves at the pleasure of the President and can be removed by the President at any time; the Attorney General is also subject to impeachment by the House of Representatives and trial in the Senate for "treason, bribery, and other high crimes and misdemeanors."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Attorney_General
and not what you said, "the U.S. Attorney General is nominated by and serves at the pleasure of a majority of the sitting Justices of the U.S. Supreme Court "
you sure you meant what you said?
Wishing your sister a speedy recovery in time for the holidays! And may her chemo/radiation be gentle.
do you even know which of the cast of characters around PNMS are duplicates? Ever seen a picture of the mystery man, finegan, and MT in the same picture?
if it is news, as you say, then it has to be disseminated to everyone by SEC rule. If it is only an email to the pre-registered and existing marks, then it is just more blow from the crooks who have a history of "secret clubs" and "special offers".
the shares I have from pre scam will one day be worth something...it's a long shot surely, but sitting around being bitter and bellyaching is not helpful...
wishful thinking is not helpful either. it makes people have an opening for a scam. If anyone has a wild idea about an actual business idea or a laughable business model... we are all ears. you have an idea? or just blind pump?
71 GOP senators block effort to freeze credit card interest rates
if there were really 71 GOP senators, bush probably would have emboldened enough to use nukes. (mostly on English teachers, perhaps, but he didn't even understand his shortcomings, which is why he never improved on anything, ever, for his whole life. Adaptive management and learning from mistakes involved learning, which was way beyond his strike zone. and like his mom said... he is particularly incurious.)
must have been a misprint, or wishful thinking, but whoever the cocksuckers were that allowed the big 4 to inhale a few billion bucks by raising rates to knee-capper levels before the "regulations" go into effect need to be waterboarded with liquid mercury.
The Dodd bill would be retroactive for this year, and that means the recent bullshit would be allowed to be considered a mulligan and reasonable rates restored. Good work, if he can pull it off.
But on a different front, i am of the opinion that folks such as Ms. Palin probably couldn't even explain what interest rates are, especially if caught without notes or lip gloss.
Yet flinging opinions on such things are, well, her way of selling books, as perhaps the child support from her snow machine stud has been a bit lean this year....and unemployment insurance for quitting a job in Alaska takes a while to get your first check.
That irritating governorship had to go. And off it went, like her panties on Prom night.
I have tried every way i could to try to find a redeeming quality in what she says during interviews. But she is so inarticulate and uninformed, that what she passes off as "folksy plain talk" is a puzzling mix of deer-in-the-headlight responses that tail off into unrelated and bizarre tangents.
I think that some diversity is needed from the existing lawyer/self annointed elite in our governing body, but she ain't a cure, or even a vaccination.
Anyway, thanx for posting that reply to my rant on interest rates. it was a laser beam to what had me torqued.
that is a step in the right direction, arizona. i was mostly venting about the window that citibank is taking to arbitrarily raise interest rates at a pace of over 150% on existing customers, particularly ones that are the most responsible and trustworthy. and with the complicency and blessing of the regulators, and just in time to beat the congressional deadline that they paid handsomely for.
Although, i imagine that since they are being so greedy, someone will step into the void and beat their rate, except the big credit moguls have the market cornered for now. And they own the congressional votes on the items. And they get bailout money on top of it. But i guess a person has to have some faith that allowing some competition would help out those of us that still have credit cards. If obama has the ouevos to take on wall street, consumer credit would be a place that he could get major political mileage from... the surviving middle class would have his back, as there are millions like me that are pissed about getting hosed by the greedy thieves, and something like credit card rates is a little less abstract than taking them on over derivatives; everyone would get it.
And one area where obama could pee Mitt Romney into the dirt over. Romney's business background could easily be turned into a liability if for once obama would take a risk on messing with wall street.
the new regulations designed to prevent credit card extortion were conveniently drafted in such a manner that the thieves had a 6 month window of "anything goes" before the curbs take effect. Thus i got a notice two days ago that my primary credit card interest rate was being raised from 9.5% to 24.9%. I have never been late on a credit card payment in my life, and normally pay it in full whenever i use it for something like a motel room, etc.
i sincerely hope that the bastards in the ruling party that came up with that time-lapse loophole enjoy their donations from citibank. Cuzz they should have lost the votes of every one of the shat-upon credit card holders in their constituency, who spun it as "consumer protection" and the media went along with it. Of course they are the same companies that we the people just gave huge bail-outs to, so we get to pay twice for their ripping off of us.
It was such a colossal gouging that came at the hands of the people who proclaim to be for the common person, the non-95% folks. Incredibly bald-faced theft done under the "watchfull" eyes of congress.
no prob... i just didn't understand what you meant.
hey, on another topic... i read that they are changing the name of Vegemite to something else, since Kraft now owns the manufacturer, and that many people are not happy about it. I can imagine it would be like trying to change the word "hamburger" in the U.S.
I've never tried Vegemite... i only eat brewer's yeast on popcorn to give it a bit of flavor, but processed brewer's yeast in a tube is just something that never would have occurred to me. i am more than happy to leave it ubiquitous to Australia, but leave it to an american corporation to try and mess with something that doesn't need messing with.
well, to register a bit of disgust with how the ruling group is looting and has looted our economy via defense spending and now by using loan risk as a weapon, seemingly unabated even with a shift in the ruling party... my wonderment is more how you equated that with my relationship with my father....
if you want to do such analysis, there are a couple real freaks on this board you might want to investigate.
i have no idea why you have such feelings. Perhaps a clean pair of socks might change how you feel? ;)
and usually when CANDIDATES pledge to pull us out of a war, they get elected. Such as nixon's secret plan to get us out of vietnam, which helped him get re-elected, but was as bogus and full of holes as his black wing-tip shoes.
and i think someone pledged a timetable to get out of iraq that trumped hillary clinton's plan; her plan was less specific and more closely fitted to the realities... but of course, that was last year, and the water under the bridge has a little blood in it.
The military/industrial/wall street complex is rolling along as if no election happened. more handouts, and little visible effort to bend to the actual will of the people.
correction: alleged assets? that scanner sort of stopped the audit dead in its imaginary tracks.
i don't know about "repeatedly", would like to see a link to something other than what i believe to be a total coincidence. he had been ranting about cuba for a long time, then suddenly discussion of possibley lifting the embargo hit the news. Which, in my opinion, is sort of like a broken clock being right twice per day.
Even if he is "connected" it has never translated into any revenues or real projects. So i'll stick with my lottery view. The leap from hearing about something to capitalizing on it is something pedro has never accomplished. An astute man would not let his company be hosed like MT did.
I actually wish i was wrong, but experience tells me otherwise.
