Good Call. Midnight is fine. Trick or Treat Everyone!
gemmerling: Sounds Good. Let's cut off at 1700 hrs.
Thanks for Posting the entries!
I've been travelling for work this week and am travelling for the rest of November, so my ability to devote time to this has been very limited. It's the sign of a good community when others pitch in to help without being asked.
Good luck all!
If I let you change, then everybody changes...Ok, this time....
But don't let it happen again :)
DEADLINE FOR PRICE CHALLENGE 31 OCT
I'll post a list of entries at that time. Winner will be closest without going over. No Fractions! Enter by posting your best guess here.
Maybe Virtra will pony up a company tshirt...
That's the prize I want. :)
Ok...VTSI Price Challenge!!!
Here's how it works. Predict the stock price as of Close of Business, 2 January (That's the Thursday after New Years Day).
That's 2 months and some change from today. I'll go back through the archives that Friday and name a winner.
The winner will be the closest without going over.
My prediction? .41 cents.
The first murmurs of bashing have arrived...
Another consideration..
A lot of stocks are getting sold simply because with recent drops in stocks that were "stable" thoughout the bear market there's a lot of margin calls. When selling to cover margin the first impact is on "speculative" holdings.
This is the last VTSI fire sale.
Get it while it's low for possibly the last time for a while. I definitely see a chance for 80 percent gains over the next 3 months at this price.
Of course, this is just my opinion...
Ouch! This is depressing.
At least there's an upside...I can average down those shares I bought at .30 cents. I don't understand where this selloff is coming from..it looks like a large drop on low volume and smacks of manipulation.
What do you mean, "speaking of bashers"?
Just use the dip to buy more.
It's the best revenge on the MMs that are manipulating the price down with these BullS**t trades. The more us longs hold on to the fewer shares are available for the OTCBB short game that they play.
You know, I wouldn't be surprised if the bashers showed up here soon...
Red Baron Pizza Renews Contract With VirTra Systems
7/22/2002 8:31:00 AM
ARLINGTON, Texas, Jul 22, 2002 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- VirTra Systems, Inc. (VTSI) today announced that it has been awarded a contract extending the Red Baron Pizza Stearman Squadron virtual reality experience until 2004.
The promotional virtual reality experience, designed, produced, and installed by VirTra Systems, takes the user on a 360-degree Red Baron open-cockpit biplane stunt routine. The user, wearing a VirTra Systems headset, can turn his or her head as if they were in the cockpit to see whatever "they" desire as the plane performs its stunt, rather than being restricted to pre-determined, forward view.
"We at Schwan's, parent company of Red Baron Pizza, have been extremely pleased with the results of this promotional campaign highlighted by VirTra Systems' virtual reality experience," commented Darci Eckermam, director of marketing services at Schwan's. "Not only has the system strengthened our brand awareness and amazed our guests, it has also been very reliable despite tremendous physical wear-and-tear through air show use."
When released in September of 2001, it was one of the first airplane-based 360-degree photorealistic experiences ever created for public exhibition. The Red Baron biplane experience has been presented to over 2.5 million people at 21 air shows and events. An upgrade to the experience is scheduled later this year, at which time the biplane experience may be the highest resolution 360-degree experience available in the world.
Bob Ferris, VirTra Systems' president, commented, "We are very pleased to continue our relationship with Schwan's and the Red Baron Pizza Stearman Squadron team of exceptional professionals. Once again, we have proven our virtual reality design and engineering techniques have sustained interest and reliability for long-term use."

Article about spending "Gold Rush"
http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2002/07/10/homeland-security.htm
An excerpt... "New federal outlays for homeland defense are expected to hit $57.2 billion by next year, and President Bush has made it clear the investment will continue for years to come. In a faltering economy, it's one of the few things growing."
I smell a naked short...
What? they cancelled my .25 dump!!!!???
I can't give this crap away!!!!
J/k. have a sense of humor boys.
Welcome aboard Moni
Glad to hear that the Virtra "buzz" is now international. I look forward to your perspective on things!
Interesting article re: Govt IT investment..
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A5577-2002Jun30.html
Excerpts:
"In-Q-Tel, the venture capital unit of the CIA that -- no kidding -- named itself after the movie character. The group, created in 1999, has made about a dozen investments in technologies that could potentially be used in information gathering and analysis of America's enemies."
This is a money pot for nothing but NEW technology. I wonder if VTSI is sniffing up this tree?
"the benefits of having In-Q-Tel's fingers in a lot of commercial technology pies were demonstrated after Sept. 11, when In-Q-Tel found itself a go-to group. Suddenly, it was necessary to scour all parts of the country for technologies that could be used for counterterrorism and homeland defense"
Isn't this exactly what we're hoping for for VTSI? Great food for thought.
That email confirms a LOT
"This is a very busy time at VirTra Systems, as we are both working on a number of corporate opportunities,"
More customers on line in the public sector? This is bread and butter in lieu of any Govt action.
"as well as simultaneously having a presence in Washington for follow-up meetings with three separate agencies. "
Umm, let me guess, what would those be? FBI, Homeland Defense and pick a third from the alphabet soup. This confirms that they are nearing a solid proposal for Source Selection on a most likely confidential acquisition cycle (IMO)
"Further, a major automobile manufacturer has requested a demonstration next month of the applicability of our technology for advertising and promotional purposes. "
Way cool, if VIRTRA gets a couple more of these they'll be the undisputed market leader in marketing apps for virtual reality.
My past prediction now amended...
I predicted over a month ago (when we were at .28) That we would rise, retrace to .28, then settle out at .38 to .44 until more news is forthcoming. (Shake out by this autumn).
Current trends indicate to me that if we find support at .50 by August we may end up breaking out on any news to over the magic 1.00 mark.
This is just conjecture, of course, but ain't it fun?
Maybe so, but let's hope for more than 10 mil.
I think 10-15 million for R and D would be fine with the hope of a BIG production order down the road, but a 10 to 20 million dollar contract for existing products IMHO would not rock the street. Look what a 26 mil $ announcement did...a 50 percent jump in price on low volume. IMO what this stock needs, especially in light of it's symbol change, is some exposure.
True Rouster, Not a base yet..
I actually hope to see one more retracement to solidify a base around .28, then onward and upwards...Want a prediction? Here goes....we end the summer between .45 and .55 and go into BIG news this Autumn where we leave the sub-dollar world behind.
With another retracement I can pick up a final lump of stock to complete my position.
Who the heck is selling at .20?
it baffles me.
Regarding this stocks "Exposure"
Maybe it's incumbent upon not only the company, but the stockholders as well to get out there and introduce people to VTSI. I'm not suggesting mindless pumping of it, but just mentioning it and letting others make their own decisions.
Arrrgh, you beat me to the post...well done.
So many ideas for their products...
Ya know, I keep having ideas of markets for VTSI products. Places like Gettysburg, or Pearl harbor could use virtual reality to transport visitors back to the very day and hour of those battles, Fire fighters could have trainers which would allow them to simulate ACTUAL buildings in their precincts experiencing a fire, police, emergency managers, it goes on and on. I look forward to the day when the money and interest is there to fund further r&d and marketing to finally turn the corner for VTSI. Until then, I accumulate :)
No selling taking place...
I put in an order this morning at a higher bid...it's still not showing. Grrrrrr..I want my shares
Question about naked shorting...
From what I understand, then, in order to thwart the shorts (hey, I like that statement...think I'll trademark it) you should take delivery of stock certificates to deny the ability of the brokerage to lend the shares?
I think it's time to thwart the shorts (tm)(c).
