Good News!!! Mercer Gold Reports Assay Results of Up to 4.8 ppm Au from Geochem Soil Sample Program at Guayabales Gold Project, Colombia
8:00 am ET 09/13/2010- PR Newswire
DENVER, Sept. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Mercer Gold Corporation ("Mercer Gold" or the "Company") (OTC Bulletin Board: MRGP, AN4:Frankfurt) has received results from the geochemical soil sampling program completed at its Guayabales Gold Project in Caldas Department of Colombia near Marmato. A total of 292 samples including blanks, standards and duplicates were taken. Samples in the field were taken at depths of between 0.60 meters and 2.00 meters. The soils sampling program covered the entire property at sample spacing of 100 x 100 meters.
"Our prudent exploration approach is delivering encouraging results; it's broadened the Encanto Zone and even presented us with three new targets in areas previously unexplored. Our potential for success on this project is growing as a result. We look forward to additional results that will come as a result of our drill program starting in October," says Rahim Jivraj, President.
Confirmation and Delineation of Previous Anomalies: The sampling program served to delineate more clearly the previously known epithermal Encanto Zone which had been the subject of work by others in the past. New sampling significantly broadened the zone to a width of over 100 meters and indicated that the zone continues across the property in a NW-SE direction for a total distance of over 1Km. Maximum sample values for gold in this zone was 1.26 ppm. These findings are confirmed by values in Arsenic up to 730 ppm.
New Targets: The sampling identified a broad anomaly in Gold, Copper and Lead at the NE extremes of the property, which is interpreted to be related to porphyry mineralization. This anomalous area is 750 by 400 meters in extent and coincides with an alteration area identified in mapping as being related to a porphyry body. A maximum gold value of 1.81 ppm was reported in this area. Copper values returned a maximum of 619 ppm, with 8 samples above 200 ppm; Lead values reached a maximum of 1772 ppm, with 6 values over 200 ppm.
Additionally, two epithermal targets are interpreted. One located NE and parallel to the Encanto zone. This zone yielded a result of 4.8 ppm in gold and 8 values in excess of 215 ppb. In the southwest portion of the property, a secondary target was identified based on low level gold up to 247 ppb coupled with high arsenic values up to 656 ppm over an area 400 by 250 meters.
Other findings: Subdued geochemical response in the West Central portion of the property in all elements confirms the existence of a graben identified in geologic mapping, which is full of older sediments. This area is still available for prospecting by drilling.
Upcoming program: All of these anomalies will be the subject of an upcoming drill program to be commenced in the coming months. Mercer plans to drill 5000 meters to investigate epithermal and porphyry targets at Guayabales.
Comments on Sampling, Assaying, and QA/QC: Mercer's geochemical samples were collected in accordance with accepted industry standards and procedures. The program was carried out by GeoMinas, a Colombian mine services contractor. All work was supervised daily by Mercer personnel. Samples were submitted using in-house QA/QC protocols employing commercially purchased standards.

Shares of Kraig Biocraft Laboratories, Inc. (OTCBB:KBLB) are on our watch list as we believe several potentially interesting developments may be close at hand.
As we told our subscribers yesterday, Kraig Biocraft is a biotechnology company pursuing the production of artificial spider silk through state-of-the-art genetic techniques designed to produce transgenic silkworms. Impressively, this transgenic animal is expected to be capable of producing silk that contains spider silk protein – in short, they are capable of producing artificial spider silk. While we admit that when we first heard about this possibility we were a little surprised, upon further investigation, we now believe it is truly an exciting market opportunity for the Company and its investors. We have been watching Kraig Biocraft for a few years now and were very surprised recently to learn that it has called a press conference later this month to discuss developments in its laboratory. It is our belief Kraig Biocraft will make a significant announcements at this press conference.
These developments are clearly alluded to in a letter to the Company’s shareholders that was recently placed on the Kraig Biocraft corporate website. The letter can be viewed at: http://www.kraiglabs.com/letter%20to%20shareholders%208.24.2010.htm.
Silk produced by spiders is among the strongest fibers occurring in nature. Not only is it as strong, or stronger, than Kevlar or steel, its ability to absorb and dissipate energy in a very controlled manner is unparalleled in nature or in science. This unique property makes spider silk especially attractive for applications where the absorption of energy is an important design factor. Products such as bullet proof vests, artificial ligaments, suspension cables and many other industrial applications are perfect markets for artificial spider silk. While the “Holy Grail,” per say, in this industry would be to exactly replicate the properties of naturally occurring spider-silk, a nearer term goal likely to be achieved is the replacement of ordinary silkworm-produced-silk with a product of superior durability. These important materials represent large markets, with the market for Kevlar and other similar industrial materials measuring in the billions of dollars per year and the U.S. and European Union textile silk market sized at approximately $2 billion to $3 billion per year.
While spider silk proteins have been produced in very small quantities in a few laboratories around the world, Kraig Biocraft is the first company to attempt the production of spider silk in transgenic silkworms (Bombyx mori). The techniques being deployed by the Company involve injecting the already isolated spider silk gene sequences from spiders into the DNA strands of silkworms, so that the silkworms produce spider silk proteins during the insect’s cocooning process.
What is really interesting about Kraig Biocraft's effort is the very impressive and high powered team that has been assembled to work on this project, including Dr. Malcolm Fraser of Notre Dame University and Dr. Randy Lewis from the University of Wyoming - two of the foremost authorities in this field of study. Dr. Fraser in particular is a heavyweight in insect related genetic engineering, having previously discovered a significant innovation for transporting the genes from one organism into another organism. The technique, now called “piggyBac,” is based on the actual gene sequence Dr. Fraser originally isolated from the genes of a virus called the bacolovirus, which widely infects insects. The technique allows for the accurate insertion of particular genes into a very specific location on the DNA strand of the host organism. Using this technique, Kraig Biocraft’s technology seeks to insert the spider’s genes responsible for producing spider silk into a specific place on the DNA strand of a silkworm, thereby replacing the genes of the silkworm that once told it to produce ordinary silk with the inserted spider genes that now tell the silkworm to produce spider silk proteins. Theoretically, this could enable an ordinary silkworm to produce spider silk proteins.
Considering the Company's press release and its website indicate that “Kraig Biocraft Laboratories has made great strides over the last several months” and that “Kraig plans to hold a press conference for the purpose of announcing laboratory developments,” we believe there is a strong possibility of major news indicating progress toward the aim of producing transgenic silkworms capable of producing spider silk proteins.
Kraig Biocraft Laboratories (KBLB) should be on your watch list as we believe major developments at the Company are likely to be announced during the upcoming September 2010 press conference.

I did not see any other spots either. Give it time??? Who knows...
It may be that CBS not showing our spot tonight could turn out to me a good thing provided it does get play in the next couple of weeks. This is a big long holiday weekend and viewership is way down on the Monday after the 4th. More bang for the buck next week let's hope.
You are right shaumo. Here is a list that the old guard knows about but the new people should see. There are enough phone numbers and email addresses here to keep us busy for a while. Who wants to join me. Let's Rock!!!
Maybe a good time to post his one again:
This is a comprehensive list of broadcasters in Louisiana. Maybe we should make a concentrated effort to contact all of them on behalf of MOP. I do not have email addresses for all but it may be better to make calls and establish a connection with a real person over the phone and ask them personally for their email address. This could go a long way to jump starting media coverage in the local area where people will have a heightened urgency and be the most likely to embrace Mop Environmental Solutions. May the tedious job of calling begin. It will be worth it.

2moon, That is a very interesting description of your Harvester. I wish you the best of luck. You seem to have the spirit and determination. How much MOP does you prototype use? Hope you can resupply your MOP inventory quickly. Have tried to recycle the product you have on hand. It is good for a few uses with a slightly diminishing return each time. If you get to the point that you need a shrimp boat and capt, I may be able to help. Could you post a quick video from your phone if possible or a photo? Good effort and great energy on your part. Go MOP
2moon. Could you please supply the board with detailed information in regard to "media day" as well as the harvester and warehouse? Please send a private message to me with your contact information at the Marriott Hotel. Thanx
wow. That's a good read stockguard.
That's right but the problem was that with traditional netting the Mop would float up and out or bunch up or simply go right though the large mess. My suggestion was to create a more ridged "sandwich" of smaller metal mess thus containing the MOP and use standard shrimp trawling methods to to control desired depths with "doors" (shrimp talk for underwater planers) to collect oil in plumes in the water column.
