It will be a nice spring weekend here. Looking forward to small family get together.
Here's hoping everyone has a good weekend and all your plans work out exactly as intended.
Did J&J case settle? All of a sudden, no posters.
Perhaps, it is not a question of winning. Personally, I prefer the US not loose.
Yup. My son has been looking into using shipping containers on some land he owns. Would make a great little getaway.
I will guess it is cheaper to build the houses in one spot and, then, ship them to location than it would be to build in place.
Darn, it is always those pesky details that are so troubling.
True dat, Plugger, on both counts.
It is good to be alive on a chilly but beautiful sunny day.
Imagine, if you will, two strangers meet and strike up a conversation. The conversation turns to our little company (OK, a LOT of imaginnation).
First stranger says, "I own(ed?) stock in that company (fka NAGP). I wouldn't mind selling it.".
Second stranger says "I'll take that at a penny a piece."
First stranger, after regaining consciousness, says "DONE Now, how do we go about completing this trade?"
Does have kind of a Twilight Zone feel to it, doesn't it?
Can I be alone in wondering how these agencies can mount massive prosecutions of nobodies like George Papadopoulos and Rick Gates while ignoring the much better documented intrigues of officials such as Bruce Ohr, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, Sally Yates, James Comey, Loretta Lynch, John Brennan, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, Hillary Clinton, and possibly even the sainted Barack Obama? Or how they can retain any credibility if these figures just slide off into the gloaming with get-out-of-jail-free cards.
Back in the late 80's, early 90's our church was approached by a Christian organization that provided low-cost food. Nothing requiring refrigeration but lots of dairy, cereals, fresh vegetables, canned vegetables and canned meats.
My wife and I decided to take on the project. We had a community center available for the program. At first, it was once a month: a truck would show up, volunteers would unload and the food would be divided into boxes for the participants. The volunteers were from the participating families.
The food was good, but it was food that had to be taken home and prepared.
The government "surplus" food was mainly dairy products such as cheese, butter, canned milk and dried "instant" milk. Occasionally, we would get government canned chicken and canned pork.
Two or three people to organize and maintain the program and a small space was all that was required.
Government programs don't have to be top heavy bureaucracies. They just grow up that way.
I’m Happy to Be Chastised by Nancy Pelosi for Upholding the Rule of Law
At a press conference before the President’s State of the Union speech, Nancy Pelosi said my request to enforce federal law was “outside the circle of decency in terms of members of Congress.” Man that is rich.
But it makes sense. Today we have men who say they are really women. We have multi-millionaire athletes complaining about how bad our country is. We have school teachers claiming our military is made up of low IQ bad people.
So it makes sense in a world of indecency and hypocrisy that my request to enforce the law is “indecent.” It makes sense that Democrats like Nancy Pelosi and Jeff Flake work harder for non-citizens then citizens and taxpayers. It makes sense that, pointing out that a country with no borders is not a country, makes me an “indecent” xenophobe.
I’ll continue to fight for our nation. Our borders. Our security. I’ll stand with the taxpayers and those who honor our laws. I’ll happily be chastised by the immoral leftists who despise our great nation and our laws.
What is truly indecent is an open violation of our laws in the sanctity of our nation’s Capitol. Corruption and poverty follows where the Rule of Law is ignored. I will oppose the ongoing violation of our values as long as I can. I believe in an America that values lawful behavior and welcomes immigrants with talent and a burning desire to make our country great.
If your first act in our country is to violate our laws, I say you have no respect for our nation and don’t belong here. Tens of millions of people immigrated here lawfully, many waiting years and paying thousands of dollars. Citizenship is a privilege that can’t be stolen. Those who think it can, like Nancy Pelosi and her ilk, are the truly indecent ones.
Paul A. Gosar, D.D.S., is serving his fourth term in Congress as the Representative from Arizona’s Fourth Congressional District.

Mirror probably won't do it. No breath, no heartbeat, no reflection.
However, if you hold out a tray of cash, you might get a response.
Be careful, you might loose a hand.
I think Kunstler under estimates our progress.
I’m not comfortable acting as a supporter or defender of Trump, but I’m even less comfortable with the appearance of a rogue security and law enforcement apparatus gone blatantly political. The so far poorly-explained antics at the FBI and DOJ reflect badly on all vested authority in the country — and especially for any faction that pretends to be on the side of justice. This is a much larger problem than the public debate seems to recognize. We are not far from a point where nobody will be able to believe anything official in this land.
Some lines are being drawn.Salesforce.com CEO Marc Benioff Compares Silicon Valley’s Crisis of Trust with the 2008 FInancial Meltdown
Silicon Valley Billionaire and Salesforce.com CEO Marc Benioff recently compared the crisis in trust experienced by large tech companies like Facebook with the financial crisis of 2008.
The Telegraph reports that Billionaire Marc Benioff, the founder of cloud computing firm Salesforce, has urged regulators to crack down on companies such as Google, Facebook, and Twitter, warning that the level of trust that people have placed in these companies is similar to the financial crisis of a decade ago. Benioff stated his opinion that the heads of these companies have “abdicating responsibility” and are ignorant of the level of power that they hold over the public.
Benioff believes that the regulators “have no choice” but to intervene at this stage. Benioff’s concerns seem quite similar to those of Rupert Murdoch, who argued last week that social media companies must fight against the “scurrilous news sources” in the alternative media.
Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Benioff stated, “We are in a new world. A decade ago, you had the banks talking about collateralized debt obligations and credit default swaps, saying they were great for the economy but regulators weren’t paying attention. The government needs to come in and point ‘True North.'” Benioff pointed towards the tobacco and food production industries as examples of highly regulated industries, “There are lots of examples from other industries,” said Benioff.
Sir Martin Sorrell agreed with Benioff stating that the “Seven Sisters” company’s comprised of Apple, Facebook, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and China’s Alibaba and Tencent have become too powerful. Sorrell compared Jeff Bezos to the chief executive of WPP John D Rockafeller saying “we are now in a position where they [tech companoes] need to be regulated.” Not everyone agreed with Sorrell and Benioff though. Ruth Porat, the finance director of Google parent company Alphabet, defended the company stating that the division of the company into multiple subsidiary companies “allows us to keep investing and improving the lives of billions of people.”

The bad odor at the FBI seeps into several other areas of misbehavior involving Hillary Clinton, her campaign, the Democratic National Committee (DNC), and members of the permanent Washington bureaucracy. Did the Obama White House use the Christopher Steele dossier, paid for by the Clinton Campaign, to obtain FISA warrants against her opponent in the election for the purpose of conducting electronic surveillance on him? Was the FBI abetting a Democratic Party coup to get rid of Trump by any means necessary once he got into office? Did the FBI conduct a stupendously half-assed investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server by dismissing the charges before interviewing any of the principal characters involved, granting blanket immunities to Obama White House officials, and failing to secure computers that contained evidence? Does the FBI actually know what then Attorney General Loretta Lynch discussed with Bill Clinton in the parked airplane on the Phoenix tarmac? Did the FBI fail to investigate enormous contributions (roughly $150 million) to the Clinton Foundation after the Uranium One deal was signed? Did they look into any of the improprieties surrounding the DNC’s effort to nullify Bernie Sander’s primary campaign?

GAME'S UP? Panicky Bitcoin investors struggle to withdraw cash from money exchanges as they look to ‘safe’ gold investments amid fears of cryptocurrency collapse
The cryptocurrency's value has fallen by around 40 per cent to £8,000 in just one month
By Jay Akbar
22nd January 2018, 12:00 pm
THERE are mounting fears that Bitcoin investors will struggle to get their cash out after the cryptocurrency's value fell 40 per cent in a single month.
Many are looking to put their money in gold instead, with some European gold traders reporting a "five fold increase" in demand amid fears Bitcoin could collapse entirely.
But it could be bad news for investors tied up in Bitconnect who fear they will lose their money after the controversial trader announced it was shutting down.
It assured customers they would be able to withdraw at a "recent exchange rate" but "continuous cyber-attacks" have prevented them from doing so, Fortune reports.
Concerned investors have since taken to social media to complain they fear losing anything from a few thousand dollars to their entire "family savings".
Adding to fears, some panicked investors have reportedly been tricked into handing over the contents of their cryptocurrency wallets by scammers presenting themselves as Bitconnect "customer support".
Wall Street veteran Peter Boockvar has warned of an impending "epic crash" which could slash 90 per cent off Bitcoin, currently valued at around £8,300.
"I wouldn't be surprised if over the next year it's down to $1,000 (£718) to $3,000 (£2,154)," he told CNBC.
This uncertainty is driving Bitcoin owners to invest in the more reliable gold, according to Daniel Marburger, director of Coininvest.
He told the Times how he sold 30kg of gold worth around £1million on "one crazy day" - January 16.
Marburger added: "It is an unprecedented time and shows the sway from bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies back to a solid, robust investment in these uncertain times."
Investors are believed to mostly be exchanging their Bitcoins for sovereign coins of gold Britannia, one ounce of which is worth around £,1000.
The largely untraceable Bitcoins are beneficial to criminals who can use them to buy drugs and weapons on online black markets on "The Dark Web".
They are less useful for everyday consumers who cannot buy goods or, say, invest in properties using the cryptocurrency.

Hello, Plugger. Best wishes to you and yours, also.
As to rumors and NAGP, I figure it's about time for some new ones to pop up. Maybe we will have some wandering minstrel drop by with some new tales of wonder and amazement.
If you write it on this board, use a big crayon, please.
Oh, yeah use them big blocky letters two, I don't understand them curly ones to good.
When you go rabbit hunting, you know your dog is good when he doesn't chase in a big circle.
You see, a rabbit will run in a big loop trying to get the dog to stay on the loop, not follow the rabbit when it veers off away from the loop.
There you go.
Not to gang up or anything, but, yes, basserdan is right, physical ownership is the only way to know you have control over what happens to your PM holdings.

trkyhntr, this is just one man's opinion, but I will suggest you consider increasing your PM holdings. Don't buy "collectible" coins, buy bullion. Silver seems, to me, to be the better deal, right now.
Whatever your choice, best wishes for the coming year.
Merry Christmas to all.
Happy New Year to everyone.

Black death plague ravaging Madagascar will ‘get WORSE’ as antibiotics AREN’T working
THE dreaded Black Death plague blighting Madagascar will “get worse before it gets better” if antibiotics aren’t handed out quickly, a scientist has told Daily Star Online.

At least 165 people have been killed by the devastating outbreak of an airborne disease spreading like wildfire in Madagascar.
Around another 2,000 people have been struck down by the – called pneumonic plague – by the lethal “medieval disease”.
Infection and immunity expert Dr Matthew Avison, of University of Bristol, has revealed the outbreak in east Africa is likely to become more serious before the "crisis" ends.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star Online, Dr Avison said because the disease is “extremely rare” it has been “resilient” to antibiotics.
“Because this disease is extremely rare, it doesn’t get exposed to antibiotics that often,” he said.
“That means it’s more resistant to antibiotics and the risk of death is higher.”
However, he said if antibiotics are handed out quickly then the disease “can still be treated”.
Failure to do so could result in the outbreak – the “worst in 50 years” – spreading to other continents, including Europe and the US, he warned.
“It’s starting to be a big problem,” he said.
“The worry is it’s going to spread to other countries if not properly contained. There is evidence that is happening already.
“It’s will probably get worse before it gets better.”
Officials from the World Health Organisation (WHO) have warned there is a risk the disease could spread to other continents.
Scientists also believe the disease – which can kill in 24 hours – could become untreatable in the future if the virus mutates.
Dr Avison said this is unlikely to happen anytime soon as old antibiotics developed decades ago can still cure the disease.
He said the problem is “access to those” antibiotics in countries with poor health infrastructure.
The airborne pneumonic plague can be spread by coughing, sneezing, spitting and other contact with bodily fluids.
Two thirds of cases have been caused by the airborne pneumonic plague.
The WHO has said this current outbreak is “different” to that seen before.
Nine countries – including South Africa, Seychelles, La Reunion, Tanzania, Mauritius, Comoros, Mozambique, Kenya and Ethiopia – are now on high alert amid fears the disease could go global.
Dr Charlotte Ndiaye, a WHO Representative in Madagascar, said: “WHO is concerned that plague could spread further because it is already present in several cities and this is the start of the epidemic season, which usually runs from September to April.”
The WHO has delivered 1.2million doses of antibiotics to fight the disease.
Drumbeats louder BLACK DEATH WARNING Madagascar plague expert fears Black Death that has killed 140 people could become untreatable and spread to the UK
Health protection expert says deadly disease may reach Europe and North America

A MEDICAL expert has warned that the plague, which has already killed 140 people in Madagascar, could mutate and become untreatable.
Professor Paul Hunter also warned it was possible for the disease to reach Europe and North America like the Ebola virus did in 2014 following an outbreak in West Africa.
Hunter, who lectures in health protection at the University of East Anglia, said: "As with any disease, it's a real worry that it mutates and become untreatable."
He told the Daily Star: "If it reaches the UK, Europe or the US it would be similar to the Ebola outbreak.
"We would probably have a few isolated cases but it shouldn’t spread like it has in Madagascar."
The island, located off the southeastern coast of Africa, has seen 143 of its citizens from over 2,000 people infected.
Two thirds of the cases have been reported as pneumonic which is the most lethal strain.
Dr Charlotte Ndiaye, who works for the World Health Organisation in Madagascar, said: "WHO is concerned that plague could spread further because it is already present in several cities and this is the start of the epidemic season, which usually runs from September to April."
The disease can be spread by coughing, sneezing, spitting and through contact with other fluids.
It is related to the Black Death which killed around 200 million people in Europe and Asia between 1346 and 1353.

Outbreak in Uganda: What Is the Marburg Virus?
By Sara G. Miller, Staff Writer | November 7, 2017 06:00pm ET
Three people in Uganda and Kenya have died from an extremely rare and deadly disease caused by the Marburg virus, the World Health Organization reported today (Nov. 7).
The Marburg virus is related to another notorious virus, the Ebola virus, according to WHO. Both viruses are members of the "filovirus" family and have high fatality rates. The fatality rate for the disease caused by the Marburg virus can be as high as 88 percent.
The Marburg virus is transmitted to people from a type of fruit bat called Rousettus aegyptiacus, or the Egyptian fruit bat, WHO says. Once a human is infected, however, the virus can be spread to other humans via direct contact with bodily fluids, or by coming into contact with surfaces and materials that have been contaminated with these fluids. [The 9 Deadliest Viruses on Earth]
The amount of time it takes for symptoms to appear after a person is infected with the virus — known as the incubation period — can vary from two to 21 days, WHO says. But when symptoms begin, they begin abruptly, and can include muscle aches and pain. About three days after symptoms begin, a person can develop gastrointestinal symptoms, including nausea, vomiting and severe diarrhea that can persist for a week. WHO describes patients at this phase of the infection as "ghost-like," with drawn features, deep-set eyes, expressionless faces and extreme lethargy.
Like the Ebola virus, the Marburg virus causes a condition called severe hemorrhagic fever, which includes symptoms such as a high fever and dysfunction in the body's blood vessels, which can result in profuse bleeding. These hemorrhagic symptoms often begin between five and seven days after the onset of symptoms, according to WHO. Blood may be found in vomit and feces, and patients may also bleed from the nose, gums and, for women, the vagina. Bleeding at injection sites during medical treatment can be "particularly troublesome," according to WHO.
The virus can also cause problems with the central nervous system, leading to confusion, irritability and aggression, WHO says.
In fatal cases, death occurs between eight and nine days after the symptoms begin, usually due to severe blood loss and shock, according to WHO.
In the current outbreak, which was declared on Oct. 19, the three people who died came from the same family in the Kween District in Eastern Uganda, according to WHO. One of the individuals traveled to Kenya prior to his death. Because only three people have been infected thus far, and all three died, the current outbreak has a fatality rate of 100 percent.

‘Ebola’ outbreak DECLARED amid Black Death comeback – and this virus is UNTREATABLE
HEALTH experts are warning a killer virus that has broken out is untreatable – as the plague continues to spread after making a shock comeback.
By Nicholas Bieber / Published 7th November 2017
The outbreak of a deadly virus similar to Ebola – the fatal fever that struck west Africa – has been confirmed in the continent.
Marburg, which kills up to 88% of people it strikes, has killed two people in Uganda and is now feared to have spread to another three.
A team of experts have been scrambled to the Kween district to contain the virus amid fears it will become a serious epidemic.
The virus is from the same family as Ebola, and causes bleeding, fever, vomiting and diarrhoea.
It can be spread through bites from either fruit bats or monkeys, and can be passed from human-to-human through semen and blood.
However, it can also be passed through coming into contact with contaminated clothing and bedsheets, the World Health Organization warns.
There is currently no treatment of the virus.
MARBURG: The deadly virus comes from the same family as Ebola
According to local reports the two people who died of Marburg recently were brother and sister.
But fears have soared after it emerged another three are suspected of contracting the virus, one of whom has disappeared after refusing to go to hospital.
And more worryingly, it is feared several hundred people have come into contact with the five victims.
Dr Diana Atwine, Uganda's health ministry permanent secretary, said: “At moment we don't know if there are other people apart from the dead who have contracted the disease.
“Health experts are still investigating in addition to sensitising the population about the dangers of Marburg and we call for public vigilance.”
The outbreak comes after Daily Star Online revealed a new Black Death outbreak is spreading fast across Africa after taking root in Madagascar.
And among the places affected are tourist destinations such as South Africa, Kenya, the Seychelles and Mauritius.
Health officials fear the plague, which has killed 124 people in this latest outbreak, is now running a “high” risk of spreading.

Even worse than the Black Death – Madagascar PLAGUE more deadly than 14th century killer
THE PLAGUE currently killing and infecting hundreds of people in Madagascar and East Africa is even more deadly than the Black Death which left 200 MILLION dead across the world.

Madagascar plague: WHO places nine countries on high alert
A state of emergency has gripped Madagascar with schools and public meeting spaces closed, panic buying and hoarding of antibiotics, and 15,000 teachers being re-trained to spot and isolate those with signs of plague.
But the plague, which has so far killed 123 and left hundreds infected, is a super-strain which is even more infectious and deadly than famous the Bubonic Plague of the 14th century.
The Madagascar Plague is actually THREE plagues.
The first is bubonic - the type which ravaged Europe and the Mediterranean in the thirteen hundreds, leaving up to 60 percent dead.
The second is pneumonic – a super strain of the yersinia pestis bacterium which ALWAYS results in death.
The third, more rare strain, is septecaemic – a life-threatening infection of the blood.
In Madagascar plague is endemic, and flare-ups cause public health emergencies on an almost annual basis but now the nation faces an uncontrolled epidemic which is terrifying the world’s health agencies.
Between 1 August and 27 October, 113 people had died and 1,554 cases reported - out of which 985 were pneumonic plague, 230 bubonic plague and 339 unknown.
Madagascar normally only sees about 400 cases each year.
World Health Organisation advice warns: “The pneumonic form is invariably fatal unless treated early. It is especially contagious and can trigger severe epidemics through person-to-person contact via droplets in the air.”
Although if caught in time all forms of the Plague will respond to specific targeted antibiotics.
The Plague has also now spread through the capital to coastal cities.
World Health Organization spokesperson Tarik Jašarevic said: “We have not seen this before.”
The Plague has already turned up in Seychelles and South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, Comoros, the Seychelles, Mauritius and Reunion have all been placed on high alert by World Health Organisation (WHO) monitors.
This year’s outbreak involves mostly pneumonic plague, a more dangerous form of the disease than the much more common bubonic plague.
Pneumonic plague attacks the lungs and spreads from person to person through droplets from coughing, like a cold, while bubonic plague spreads only from fleas to humans.
About 70 percent of cases so far were classified as pneumonic plague, according to the WHO.
Mr Jašarevic said: “It’s a worrying situation because it’s in an urban setting, and it’s transmissible from human to human.
“We need to act quickly to trace the contacts of those infected and put people on a preventive treatment.”
About 30 to 60 percent of people who contract bubonic plague die. Untreated pneumonic plague is always deadly, typically within 24 hours of disease onset.
A timely antibiotics dose can, however, save lives, and that’s why the WHO delivered an emergency stockpile of nearly 1.2 million doses of antibiotics to the Indian Ocean island nation.

Yep, one thing very obvious in the press release is the use of "possibility" verbs and adverbs when referencing actionable objectives concerning completion of audited financial information.
Instead of "will be", "would be" is used. In the one case where a positive action "will" verb is used, the use was preceded by long and rambling conditional that included a "were" which indicates a termination of effort.
Now, after all that, I sincerely hope you don't hold your breath while waiting on any of the "promises" to come true.
I suspect what will determine how soon the financials are completed will totally depend on how big a fish they can reel in, if at all.
That won't be bacon. NO fat = NOT bacon.
