Ahhh....I don't have Oanda and never will have it, so I will have to find a substitute
I have a hedge running on EUR/JPY, but that is about it.
Have you ever set up the clouds on your MT4 platform? I was curious which indies and parameters you used....
As slow as the turtle usually moves, I fretted all night that this would be the night it ran 200 pips in the other direction, but all is well. I just need a couple of confidence builders.
Hope you will get that weekly target soon!
Morning all....I am back on the wagon I suppose. My USD/JPY short closed overnight so I finally have a positive trade on the books. Hopefully that trend will continue instead of going backwards.
See you guys later this AM!
That is how I approached the Nina one that I wrote and it worked like a charm. I'll bet it would be far less lengthy than you imagine - more time consuming in finding the correct place(s) to stick the boolean.
I need to understand more about how the Gartley works before I can make any suggestions on tackling it auto style. If you have time, point me in the direction of the whys and where-to-fors of the logic behind the pattern and the rectangle coordinates. I totally get the fibs part....
I'm still curious to see how they are going to handle the trades that are in limbo. Am I still stuck with shares even though I sold to someone else, or are they stuck with them....surely both parties won't be out their money and they will settle to one side or the other.
I dunno about that.... my luck has been just shy of rotten lately, but I see that I would have made a mint on my cross longs from last week that I took off as losses....I suppose that should make me feel a tad better.
I hope it is UGLY for the crosses!
You're there....I was tempted, but I am waiting on the USD/JPY to drop a bit first.
Morning guys - I am back in the office and I feel really out of the loop on what these pairs are doing. Does someone feel like giving me a crash course on the Gartley setup and how we are making money these days?
My husband works for Chevron. They were in the process of preparing for one paperwork-wise about a year and a half ago. I suspect they have held off due to the drop in the economy, but it has been quite a while since they have had one.
Looks like a nice day for Chevron again....I need to do a bit of research and find out when the forward split is supposed to take place....
Yes, but that last paragraph gives credence to the fact that the Central Bank is pursuing it anyway. It may not happen by the end of 2010, but I suspect the Bank will win out.
Thanks for the info, Dew! This board stays relatively slow, but we try to post anything really pertinent. Glad you stopped by!
Well, if that happens, I will be very pleased indeed....
You know its news when the Weather Channel shows up to film in your city - LOL. We only got big flurries here, nothing stuck, but about 10 miles north they got a beautiful blanket so I drove the kids up Friday morning to play in it.
I am taking today and tomorrow off to enjoy de Mardi Gras....you guys don't reinvent the world while I am gone, K?
Well hey there stranger! Hope things are going well for you....happy to see you are still playing around with the markets!
Hey Wick - Yes, I am still doing Forex and I like it much better than stocks. I am using Forex.com, but I have checked out several others. If you decide to give it another look, I completely recommend using MT4 with whatever broker you choose. There are TONS of great indicators available. Do you still have my e-mail addy?
I just hope when it is all finished that they will settle the three days of trades that were left hanging.
Does the indie have all of the fibs and everything built into it?
They have been announcing bunches of school closings here for tomorrow, and predicting 2-4" of accumulation in my metro area. The last time it snowed here of any consequence was in Dec. 1996.
I can see I have lots of catching up to do on the Gartley....looks awesome! Every time I saw one on the FX360 alerts, I wanted to know how to do them because they are so often correct on their calls!
I don't really party at Mardi Gras....the kids love to see the floats and catch the goodies. I go with my parents too
Thanks for all of my warm wishes, everyone....evidently we got the blocking issue resolved at work so I can check in from time to time again.
Right now, I just want to get my work finished up, a blizzard to hit so the schools will be closed tomorrow, and someone to drive me home and let me go back to bed
(Edit: I forgot...all of that has to occur before and after the best Mardi Gras parade to roll through the streets tonight -- Laissez les Bon Temps Roulez!)
LOL - I sure hope we get some of that tomorrow so they close everything down!
Morning all....I feel like death warmed over. Looks like you guys have been studying the Gartleys hard and heavy. I haven't traded much this week, and Thursday when I feel like this doesn't seem a good time to start....wish you all well!
The Euro Union just committed to help Greece in principle....that is what caused the spike. I bailed out of my E/J long at the bottom My cobwebs are still hanging out it seems.....
What do you guys think about E/J?
Morning all....been a crazy few days. Trading just a little bit, and doing OK thus far. Hope you are all making lots of green!
See you guys again in the AM!
No kidding....that is knocking one out of the park!
Morning boys - catching up on all of the days activities. The GBP pairs took it on the chin. I went ahead and took a couple of losses to clear out the board, but I am still in profit. The GBP trades would eventually come around, but I think I will do better recovering if I just say "bad trade" and move on.
Hope you guys are doing well!
OK - I am all caught up now *grin*... The last trades I entered before leaving work all closed early evening last night, so I am about $3 away from today's goal. Haven't looked at too much yet...if anyone needs to reach me during the day, my e-mail DOES work - LOL....I think most of you have it.
Time for the commute - good luck with your trading!
Oh I get plenty of playing in, just not on IHub...I suppose in one way its better because I am paying more attention to trades than chatting, but I still long for the day when I can do both. If things go well, I hear Verizon has a stronger cell signal, and I may switch.
Are you saying I SHOULD use one, or I do? The building I work in barely gets a cell signal, so not really an option (already thought of that, as I have a Windows Smart Phone).
Yep. I had it routed outside of the company and was using the University's open wireless, but they blocked that too
Just have to make my money so I can sit home and trade....
Morning everyone! It appears the sys admin has been blocking sites on the DNS server, and IHub is one of them, which means two things: a) I can't get on at work any more and b) I probably was spending too much time on it anyway.
My E/J short closed for 30 pips (Rez...it has been dropping at night....look at a 30 min chart for the last 4-5 days). I know most of you guys are playing longer term, but if you look at the charts and see a price it has hit multiple times in a 24-48 hour period, it usually returns depending, of course, on the charts. Wouldn't work on an actual reversal, but EU has been too weak to push EJ north IMHO.
I wish you all well in your trading! See you bright and early tomorrow!
Agreed, but those are long term charts....if you look at a 30 minute or an hourly, that is a pretty darn big spike. I'm not saying hold the short indefinately, but I am saying a retrace should be in order before it moves higher. Do you disagree?
It's a long way to 92 though....look at recent attempts.
Is your position in good shape relative to your margin? This is purely speculation on my part and nothing I am pulling from a chart, but the USD/JPY hasn't been able to get off the ground more than a 100 pips or so, even with the large run in the market. I'm not necessarily saying its going to come back down, but I don't know that I would give up just yet. I would expect a retrace in the future to get out better at least.
What do the rest of you think?
The JPY crosses are all running like banshees......I went short for a retrace on the EUR/JPY a couple of minutes ago right before it took off.....I am trying to decide my course of action.
(Edit: I'm out...close enough to even, and I don't want to mess up a good week on a Friday)
