From the AOI news update from a month ago.
"Two basin opening wells are currently drilling with results expected in the second quarter of 2014. The Sala prospect, on Block 9, is being drilled in the Cretaceous Anza graben and will test a large anticlinal feature along the northern basin bounding fault. This well is operated by Africa Oil which holds a 50% interest and operatorship with partner Marathon Kenya Limited B.V. holding the remaining 50%".
NO further news released, but expected soon.
Stockhouse people say gas, no maybe oil. No maybe dry. AOI stock going down. The sky is falling. I'll wait for the news.
Bob
Two more full carry drills for early 2015. Seismic shoot almost done in Namibia. Could go to $1 if all goes well. They will need money for drills. Could sell % for cash. Lots going on, hold tight.
Bob
Edit: Some of the folks over at HotCopper think its a takeover target. They have some fine concessions in Kenya and Namibia. I don't know much about the Australia blocks. I expect big things for PCL, but I'm usually wrong.

88M traded after I crashed last night. .036 last.
Trading starts at 8PM EDT. Delayed 20 min. quotes. The press releases show up on the site earlier than any other source I have found to date.

Sunbird analysis out. 42mm traded today in AU.

Maybe Pancon's block is the sweet spot. Tullow will soon report the seismic results.
Tower's well next door is a dry hole.
They just refiled that slide show with a cover letter page added.

The price quoted in the US is not realistic. I had a order in today for less than .03 and did not fill. Check the trading in AU. for accurate info.

News Release, 3D seismc completed on 0037. Analysis 2-3 months. Some 2D followup also. Link at ASX is messed up and is not working.

DSM-1 leaving, heading due south.

Day 75, still there. Alpha made a run into Mombasa and back. Aries moved to the SVS docking location. Bonny and CSO Centurion at Sunbird. This CSO Centurion "trawler" may not be a guard ship. I don't know what its purpose is, it acts like a guard if you look at the track. Maybe the Koreans are just protecting their interests.
Bob
Oops, Cochrane in port, Centurion on guard duty near DSM-1.
Still there. Alpha is alongside. Bonny came into Mombasa and is now going back out. Crew change? SVS Cochrane near DSM. A lot of SVS boats in their area in Mombasa harbor. Aries still anchored opposite SVS area.
Bob
Forgot to mention, day 73 +/-. They must have something or not? Test on!
Bob
DSM-1 still on Sunbird (plus or minus 40 Meters).
SVS Bonny pinging nearby. CSO Centurion nearby.
Crest Aries in Mombasa, as well as SVC Cochrane and Comarco Kestrel. Missing: Crest Alpha?
Another group approaching Mombasa, (Seismac?). Pacific Falcon, Mainport Kells and SVS Monck.
There are fractures in the story "Tullow". They declared force majeuere on Hyperdymanics Guinea prospect.
http://www.energyvoice.com/2014/03/azonto-poaches-tullows-development-manager/, now they are losing staff.
Don't know what this means for Tullow/PCL, but speculation is takeover in Tullow's future.
Bob
Wonder if Middy lost his shares in a margin call.

A post from Hot Copper:
Well it does appear that FAR is even more excited about Sunbird than PCL. This is what they have to say:
".....
The Sunbird-1 well is the first well to be drilled into the Miocene reef play that extends along the coast of Kenya in the Lamu basin as shown in the above map. The play extends into FAR’s Blocks L9 and L6 as also shown.
Important to note from PCL’s ASX release is that:
? Sunbird-1 contains a hydrocarbon column
? Hydrocarbons have been recovered from the well
? Drilling mud losses were suffered during the drilling of the well
From these points, we can conclude that there is a working hydrocarbon system in place, there is a working seal over the Sunbird prospect allowing the formation of a hydrocarbon column and that the reservoir is highly porous and permeable, resulting in the loss of mud while drilling.
This is very encouraging for the Miocene reef play along the margin and especially for confirming the attractiveness of the Kifaru and Kifaru West Miocene prospects mapped in Block L6.
....."
I wonder why they are so excited! and they are not even a partner! So guys, take a hint.
I hold both FAR and PCL. I have also changed my sentiments on PCL from hold to buy.
PCL Sunbird release: Not yet~sort of?

Looks close, closeology alert. LOL

Caracal is buying TransGlobe Energy. Combined they will have $300MM cash. Maybe they want to deal for more Chad acreage?
Bob
Really like the paint job.

Bob
Some pattern changes today. Aries is in port but across from where it usually anchors. Buzzard came in also. Kestrel unchanged in port. Alpha MIA. DSM-1 still at sunbird location.
Another SVS security ship, SVS Hawkins came into port from the South. Wondering if its going to accompany the DSM back South?
Bob
SVS Cochrane, after making a instanenous return from Columbia, is now on its way back to DSM-1 as guard boat. Aries, Alpha and Stanford are out there also, but not pinging. I'm confused. Day 69. Wow! Non commercial?
Bob
Hot Copper all atwitter over comments by Kenyan official about a oil/gas discovery that is not commercial.
Aries in Mombasa. SVS Cochrane flew back from Columbia and is at the fuel dock in Mombasa. Kesrel moved back to its prior position next to Centruion.
Bob
DSM-1 is showing at sunbird. Buzzard and Alpha nearby. Aries was next to DSM and now looks like its going into port. Yesterday Comarco Kestrel moved away from CSO Centruion. Hope they are testing.
Bob
Currenty Aries, Buzzard and Cochrane are pinging near sunbird. Day 66. DSM-1 still on sunbird. Big winner?
Bob
The two Crest vessels are "lifeguard" boats. They sit off the drillship about a KM for crew recovery and/or fire supression in case of a debacle. Stanford Buzzard has been the tie up boat for whatever (food/supplies/equipment/oil). SVC boats are security. The in port area belongs to SVC.
The refuel area is on the right side of the channel below the SVC area.
Bob
Bob
Crest Aries 1 is "anchor handling ship".
Crest Alpha is "offshore supply ship"
