Good article in Investor's Business Daily, "It's Time to Get Serious About US Marijuana Stocks".
Good points. I also lived through the Canadian legalization and saw the cannabis stocks soar to the moon. We are on the ground floor of an epic boom, so these are exciting times. The cannabis industry is one of the fastest growing industries in the world, and it's illegal! Image the boom when it's legal!!
I think you might have misunderstood his intent there.
Billy Ray is never wrong. Just like orange juice, he predicts the cannabis sector will explode!
He said "Pump and NO dump".
What is happening, this stock price drop, has little to do with the management of CBDD. The only thing the CEO has done wrong is being late with the audit. Other than that, the CEO has done everything right. Do you see anything wrong with $27 Million in revenues and explosive growth?
I understand you are super sour and you want to point the finger at someone but this drop has much less to do with CBDD and much more to do with the entire sector. I have been saying this for months, you should read some of my posts. Have you not noticed what is happening with the entire sector? Not one cannabis stock is moving regardless of how well they are doing. If you want to point the finger at someone, point your finger at the big institutional money that vacated the cannabis sector despite the cannabis industry revenues being at all time highs.
If you want to hyper-focus on CBDD and blame the CEO then go ahead, however, you should also look at the bigger picture (and the big money) which involves the entire sector.
Seriously? You really think a late audit makes the CEO a scamster? Do you have any hard evidence that the CEO is a scamster, or is it just hot air and sour grapes?
Exactly. The share price has nothing to do with the business itself. The performance of the stock and sector should reflect the performance of the company and the industry. The sales of CBDD and the cannabis sector are at all time highs, yet their stock prices continue to drop. That's not the way the stock market is supposed to work. Wall Street can call it a strategy (sector rotation) but we have to call it what it really is, strongarm manipulation by big money and the MMs that accommodate it.
The good news is that we, the little guys, can profit greatly if we know why and when the big institutional money will rotate back into a sector. That's why Jefferies recently called the cannabis sector a "generational wealth opportunity" at these levels because this drought/drop will end soon and might never happen again.
You're right, market makers do follow suit. They follow suit with big money. This drop is much less about CBDD and much more about the entire cannabis sector. Big institutional money has rotated out of the cannabis sector (and many other sectors including the big pharma sector), this has been widely reported. The entire sector is down big, and not one single cannabis stock has moved regardless of how well they are doing. It may not seem logical or fair but big money controls everything, that's the way it is.
The good news is that the big institutional money wants to invest in the cannabis industry, but they can't legally do it because it is illegal. As we get closer to legalization, the big institutional money will rotate back into the cannabis sector.
You should e-mail the CEO and ask him directly. He responds right away.
Investors can either cry or buy. Smart investors are buying. I'm buying as much as possible.
Let's include caviar with that champagne.
Well said, and I agree. They will have to pry out our shares from our cold dead hands!
It looks like his CEO is pushing him to be more active! HaHaHa!
It's always funny how much the biggest liars always accuse others of lying.
There are definitely penalties for lying by a CEO, it's called jail! Fraud is a serious crime and most CEOs don't want to spend time in jail.
Also, why would the CEO destroy his reputation after spending years building a great reputation?
He replied to my e-mail the next day. I'm impressed by how quickly he replies to inquiries. Generally speaking, most cannabis company CEOs look like homeless people who have sampled a little too much of their own product. However, Marcel looks and acts like a legit CEO. He is engaging and intelligent, and it makes sense he has been so successful with making huge sales. Some people may disagree, but I go by that as much as any audit.
E-mail from Marcel, the CEO, regarding the US:
"The US market is still an option for us .... We can always come back and keep this option open if the market changes accordingly and we identify profitable business for our company there.
Legalization in the US will affect every cannabis company in the world, especially in the western world which includes Europe. Also, don't forget, CBDD can return to the US anytime they want.
Legalization in the US is the mother lode. LedZep made a good analogy. Imagine all cell phones are prohibited, then they are suddenly legalized. It will create the run of all runs, even for companies based in Europe because a rising tide raises all boats. Also because legalization in the US will open the floodgates to legalization worldwide, Europe will be next in line.
Also, big institutional money will come back in, and stay in, the cannabis sector.
So many Negative Nancys lately! Senator Chuck was on ABC's "The View" today explaining his strategy to get his legalization bill passed. He is one of the most senior and most powerful politicians in Washington and when he is determined to get a bill passed, it usually passes.
Good video. That's it in a nutshell. Investors are hesitant to rotate back into the cannabis sector because they are frustrated with Washington. Everyone knows Washington is slow and dysfunctional but they have 4 solid bills introduced and they will eventually get their act together and pass at least one of the bills this fall (that is the expectation).
Don't forget Mexico. They will be forced to get legislation done this fall (because their Supreme Court has voted down prohibition).
Good post. New shareholders are always looking for instant gratification, but they need to learn that the markets are more about pain than instant gratification. Us longs suffered through years of pain seeing the price drop from .00s to low .000s, all the time listening to the crying yapping nonsensical BS of our brainless chihuahua. That's a pain worse than labor and almost as painful as marriage. That's real pain but we didn't cry about it, we bought and held, and bought and held the entire time.
If making money in the markets was super easy, everyone would quit their jobs and become full time traders!
It's a rough time, the entire sector is down, but crying and finger pointing isn't going to help. Big catalysts are coming. CBDD is strong and getting stronger every day. $27 Million in revenues, explosive growth and the company on its way to becoming one of the top producers in Europe. Not many people would cry about that.
I didn't think so.
Crime doesn't pay. Only bad things happen to criminals and liars. Everyone knows that.
More good news. I'm not yawning at it. Most people wouldn't yawn at $27 Million in revenues, explosive growth and the company becoming one of the top 5 companies in Europe.
Schumer's new bill is a draft and open to feedback until Sept. 1. This is smart because he needs time to sell it to the Republicans. The Republicans will come around because they know business and they know how much tax revenue the cannabis industry will generate.
I remember about a year ago when CBDD was late releasing their quarterly financials this same individual was desperately trying to raise doubt and fear.
36Knuckle posted the link earlier today.
Hopefully the introduction of Senator Chuck Schumer's MEGA bill tomorrow will bring the big money back into the cannabis sector.
Yes, it looks like we are at the bottom now, so I'm buying as much as I can.
Agreed. The cannabis industry is one of the fastest growing industries in the world so one would expect the cannabis sector to be one of the strongest sectors in the markets.
I know that there are other hot sectors right now but cannabis is still one of the hottest sectors in the world, and it will only get hotter in the coming days, months and years. Jefferies called the cannabis sector "a generational wealth opportunity" in a recent article.
I don't understand why big institutional money would rotate (or cycle) out of the cannabis sector in the first place. Cannabis revenues are at all time highs, the cannabis industry is the fastest growing industry in the country (and one of the fastest growing industries in the world) and several strong bills are being introduced that will make the cannabis industry even bigger and stronger!
"Sector Rotation" by Big institutional money is the cause of the drop in the cannabis sector. However, they should rotate (or cycle) back in to the cannabis sector soon because it is believed that Senator Chuck Schumer will introduce his MEGA bill this month.
CBDD can always go back to the US. Right now they are focused on dominating Europe. All companies need to stick to their strengths and stay in their lanes and not swerve all over the road back and forth. Once they become big enough then they can dominate all lanes on the road.
At first I was disappointed about them pulling out of the US but now I'm slowing realizing that they want to become the Curaleaf of Europe. Once they accomplish that they can re-enter the US at any time.
The CEO did come clean, he explained everything. Those individuals who have lied about CBDD for over 4 years should come clean.
You're right, the CEO could have a strategy in mind with the release of the audit. He could be waiting to release it in conjunction with a big PR, or he could be waiting for the cannabis sector to come back to life.
Don't forget, CBDD's goal is to be one of the biggest producers in the world, not just Europe and the US!
Big pharma can only fight cannabis for so long, the profits are may too big. Once legalized, big money and big pharma will consolidate cannabis, it's inevitable. Even with delays with the current bills introduced at the federal level, legalization will happen eventually because most states will legalize in the next few years and the federal government won't have any choice but to legalize.
We are just in a holding pattern right now. However, just like the Mexican legalization sprung out of nowhere, a bill in Washington could spring out of nowhere and we will be off to the races again.
