Schering-Plough announced today that Claritin OTC will take away from their prescription business. Here's where it's going:
June 24, 2002 -- IMPAX Laboratories, Inc. (Nasdaq NM: IPXL) today announced the signing of a Licensing, Contract Manufacturing and Supply Agreement with Schering-Plough Corporation relating to CLARITIN-D® 12 Hour (loratadine/pseudoephedrine sulfate, 5 mg/ 120 mg) Extended Release Tablets for the over-the-counter (OTC) market. CLARITIN-D 12 Hour is currently manufactured and marketed in the United States by Schering-Plough as a prescription drug for the relief of symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever).

Keep an eye on BPWRF today.
They closed that bauxite deal that they had announced. It's been moving up all week. I had averaged down after getting in pretty deep a couple of weeks ago. Looks like it's going to work out.....
Another one to keep watch on it SURE. They irradiate (with electronic beam technology) food products and are big enough to handle some more major contracts.
There's also VIFL which won a PUBLIX contract recently to irradiate frozen beef patties. Both longer term holds, but a good bet to rise, imo.
BSTI should be changing names and symbols soon. They seem to have based around their current level and any news should make for a 50 percent rise.
It may finally be a good day to trade! Let's go for it!!

Superjim - about AGRD...
You may be able to pick up some shares near the bid. The spread is so wide - I think that the MMs are trying to discourage buying*. Some good volume should make it take off. I've been following AGRD on a daily basis.
*I've always thought that it was odd for market makers to discourage buying, since they make money on trades.

Watch IPXL today!
PRX, who is another leading manufacturer of generic drugs, came out with a raised earnings forecast. It trades in the 20s, but IPXL is about 6 and should go up to 7.50 or 8 in short order. It's one to put in the long-term hold portfolio! Funds should be adding IPXL for its growth potential.

Equidyne Corp. Receives FDA Approval for OTC Marketing of the INJEX 30 System for Insulin
Thursday September 12, 9:05 am ET
SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 12, 2002--Equidyne Corp. (AMEX:IJX - News) announced today that it has received 510(k) clearance from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market the needle-free INJEX 30 System "over the counter" for insulin administration.
Commenting on the new 510(k) approval, Marcus Rowan, chief executive officer, stated, "We are pleased with the FDA's decision to grant OTC approval for INJEX 30 System for insulin administration. This approval represents a further affirmation of the safety and ease of use of the INJEX 30 System."
OTC marketing of the INJEX 30 System will require specific product and packaging labeling changes to differentiate the OTC version from the currently marketed INJEX 30 System requiring a physician's prescription. At this time the company does not plan to initiate over-the-counter sales prior to development of a strategic partnership or licensing arrangement to facilitate OTC sales of the product.
About the Company:
Equidyne Corp. (www.equidyne.com), through Equidyne Systems Inc., its wholly-owned subsidiary based in San Diego, is working to capitalize on the growing market for needle-free drug delivery systems for subcutaneous injections. The INJEX needle-free injector is a compact, uncomplicated device that delivers a virtually painless injection through the skin in a fraction of a second, and eliminates needle stick and disposal problems. The INJEX System is a comfortable, economical alternative to delivering medications using conventional needle injections.
