Thanks Proto learning who our potential customers WILL be and how huge our first market is, always peeks my interest.
Another shout out to Steve, Walter and others keeping us informed of happenings over the pond. Thanks Guys.
Still a good board if one is able to sift out the meaningless.
Yes Scope,
"He took on LWLG for the legacy it will produce."
"These assumptions make me believe LWLG mngt. wants to drive the bus."
In my humble opinion, Lebby wants to take this personally well beyond modulators, where would he go in his field that is more exciting than this? Why would he give up the steering wheel to the bus that was a peddle car last year and will become a fleet of cruise ships in a few short years.
Great message board today.
the back and forth between F2 and Steve especially good. x's comments always worth reading.
just the beginning is the take away today.
Lebby will only be publicly updating the Roadmap at this conference although behind the scenes he will be representing us well.
Next week he will be presenting on behalf of Lightwave the company, not the future of the industry.
That is what I am very excited about.
Still less than 200,000 volume mid-day.
puny small volume still.
only buyers today have already been watching and knowing of Lightwave.
wait till that changes and the floodgate if interest will overwhelm shares available.
We can go to 11 !!!
Spinal Tap Redux
Excellent messages today. In addition (clarification) the combination of our miniaturization (light instead of electricity) and a dramatic reduction of power means much less heat released into the racks. Less A/C needed to circulate to cool means freeing up space in the faceplate of the racks. Combining the previous message board comments gives the server farms everything they need to dramatically process more info. without expanding the farm or even redesigning the equipment layout. It appears we are equivalent to adding a "plug and play" super supercharger to the racks on the cheap that uses less power. Whats not to like.
Reading the cover page of the Patent indicates that this is a fine tuning of original applications and patents going all the way back to 2005,07,011,and 012. I would think that this new fine tuning will give us protection for years to come while still capturing protection of the basic science the Gotez family discovered and protected all the way back to 2005.
If there is someone smart enough in the Patent Office who understands the body of this patent well enough to approve it as something new in a few short months, maybe we should hire that guy
I tried to read it but my eyes started bleeding and I began speaking in tongues. I guess I am just one of the sheep fooled by Lightwave and so caught up in the cult I WON"T SELL MY SHARES !!!!
I second Stock's Thank You.
My understanding of what Lightwave's Polymer can do and where the company can go with this groundbreaking material was only achieved by the shareholders breaking it down over a long time, post by post so someone with my limited grey matter could absorb. Their time invested for others willing to pay attention has been invaluable.
Way Way Waaaaay too early to even think buyout.
Too much potential to sell at the cheap even when the 100gig device is marketed. Many many products to come, many price spikes to come. All longs should be more than satisfied with price appreciation and as a bonus, can brag about being in early on this next industry leader.
Tesla doesn't make money. In fact lost over 600 mil. last year and won't make money this year.
limping along at a 50 bil. market cap.
Think their investors are betting on the come?
Even with batteries that cause more pollution to build than a normal vehicle puts out in 8 years and they haven't been hit with road use tax (yet).
Lightwave hasn't sold product (yet), has potential to make money before Tesla and actually IS green.
I like where I am sitting with shares of Lightwave I won't sell.
Thanks Steve S. ! Great Info.
Price, Market and Products.
I am more encouraged today after looking at the Conference slides than I was yesterday (if that is possible).
I found slides 143,156 & 157 particularly exciting.
156 & 157 show Price vs. Customer Expectation. Customer Expectation has never been achieved! PIC's offer this to happen. But in the mean time (2018 thru 2022) if I understand this, we will be selling at $7 $6 $5 ect. per gig. not a buck as they want, that is $700,$600,$500 per device! Big Bucks.
But much more exciting is slide 143. The Vast majority of the market in Ethernet TxRx PIC's IS and WILL be for a 100g PIC. I think this is a repeated slide. The 400 is just icing on the cake. Maybe the 400 takes over and the projection chart will not look the same next year, but, the risk here is getting less and less.
Gentlemen, we already have it! The 100g will start entering a huge market by the end of the year (priced the same as the currant 10g) and it's frikkin June already!
The end of the presentation touches on additional markets. Many many more devices to come. Did you notice OLED flexible screens is a new slide?
Thanks for the link, very much appreciated guys.
To infinity and beyond Buz ! Maybe there is a Great Pumpkin.
Interest is NOT disappearing.
On the contrary, interest will gradually grow. Investors are understandably cautious. Institutional investors are very cautious and will give up the beginning of a rally until it is even beyond confirmed that the product has viability and is producing product. Big money can and will wait until profits are banked and evaluate margins and future business growth. They will even wait until somebody else does the projections for them.
Think of a little snowball on top of a mountain. It is cold and the little snowball is slowly rolling down a 3% grade picking up very little additional snow. At some point the sun comes out warming the snow making it tacky and the snowball starts growing. The 30% grade is out there somewhere and when the ball finds the steep part of the mountain, speed picks up and snow collects exponentially. Don't get in the way when it finds that point, it will mow you over or pass you by and continue to grow and grow.
The short squeeze will soon feel like an Atomic Wedgee.
FSCE Faster Smaller Cheaper Efficient
The Grand Slam. Any one of these characteristics could make a product viable in the marketplace. Lightwave will introduce products that greatly improve all 4 factors that will make purchases a must for any company with a server farm. Industry Changing Technology.
Faster - The obvious improvement. All companies looking for speed. But this alone may not be enough. Competitors can approach our speed BUT their packaging is huge and expensive.
Smaller - Lightwaves can operate closer together than electrons. Our 50gig. 8 channel modulator will have the capability of fitting into the same space of existing faceplates that were designed for 10 gig devices. This is huge. Refitting entire server farms quickly with minimal interruption that dramatically increases the capacity of existing facilities AND equipment.
Cheaper - Lightwave modulators will be priced, from the start, at very competitive rates that stimulate incentive to "plug-n-play" retrofitting the server farms immediately.
Efficient - dramatically less power per gig than existing modulators gobbleing up kilowatts at an alarming rate. Lightwave modulators will pay for themselves in power consumption and Air Conditioning. Even if a competitor could squeeze 400 gig into the existing space, they couldn't keep them cool.
FSCE
WIN< WIN< WIN< WIN
No problem, just what I have read about putting in an order.
Don't want to pass bad info.
That's why this is such a good board.
Excellent posts yesterday especially.
Thanks to all. Have a good Holiday.
Yes Steve, I believe this is true. It ties them up.
By the way, I think this is true with Discount Online Brokers also.
Trivia: The now famous Grill is in the shadow of the TD Ameritrate tower in West Omaha. Yes we DO have buildings over 1 story. Take that, all you Anti-Nebraskites!
Price is getting violent again.
Several years ago we had discussion on how to avoid YOUR shares to be shorted against you.
If your brokerage account is a cash account, the broker or brokerage firm cannot short your shares.
If your shares are (you large block holders are especially vulnerable) in a margin account, your brokerage firm CAN and WILL use your shares against you without your knowledge. You will not be notified in any way.
Even if you do not use margin, please check with your broker and verify the shares you hold long are not in a margin account. He may have put you in a margin account for this very reason. The firm is making trades against you with your shares, your money, without you ever Knowing it. Most likely it is the firm doing it and not your broker personally.
Jim,
The beef and pork is corn fed and NONE of the choices were labeled "household pets"
No kidding, the fortune cookie I opened actually read " A financial investment will yield returns beyond your hopes." So everyone can rest easy. I've got it tucked away in my billfold.
I'll shut up for a while, just in a good Lightwave mood.
Somewhat unrelated.
We drove to Omaha a couple weeks ago that happened to be Berkshire Hathaway ASM weekend at the Quest Center (he packs the place of course) 13,000 plus. Their shareholder meeting is an all weekend affair and takes over little Omaha like the College World Series. We stopped for a late afternoon, early supper (to beat the crowd) at a Mongolian Grill. Out in the parking lot was a tour bus. As we approached the front door about four Asian appearing men in suit and tie were out front smoking cigarettes. Being the friendly kind of guy I am, I approached them, held out my hand and said "welcome to Omaha". One reached out and shook my hand and just grinned. I asked if they were here for the Berkshire Hathaway meeting. Deer in the Headlights, they had no idea what I said. So I pointed to their NAME TAG necklaces. All four started shouting "Buffett Buffett" with big grins. The guy I shook hands with pointed to himself and said "Taipei". They must have interpreters beaming to headsets in the meeting for the foreigners.
Moral of the story, if Buffett thinks name tags are O.K. at his shareholder meeting (you need one to get in, they send them as your ticket), Maybe its O.K. at our meeting. Problem is, he gives them laminated ones with a red white and blue lanyard, not a peel and stick with a sharpie.
I will be looking forward to the year we rent the COORS Event Center in Boulder. At that point we can afford lanyards also.
Question to large investors, especially our long term investors.
There seems to me, to be an unreasonable excitement about the possibility of a buyout. Why on earth would you want that? All here understand this has industry changing potential. Now, it must be probable potential. All here also understand the possibilities of products are yet to even be identified. We have big industry experience on the Board, will control the "engine" and sub-contract mass production with Lightwave in control. The word partners is used often. The word sub-contractors is more accurate. We will be in control, packagers meet our industry requirements. The total company value can be enormous and rather quickly, if the company is allowed to mature. If we get bought out, we then have shares of a mega company, actually diluting value, and percentage of growth potential. One must then decide, do I keep the mega company shares or sell, pay taxes and take a chance on another investment. Large investors can always sell a little on occasion and enjoy their forward thinking genius.
I for one, want to see "Powered by Lightwave Logic" on millions of cases of product on pallets, sold and shipped to the Mega company jealous they didn't figure this out, and no other option but to send us checks.
Let it mature, your reward will be much greater both financially and emotionally. Think Gates, Jobs, Bezos, Zuckerberg, they didn't sell. Allow these guys the limelight they will have earned when Lightwave becomes a household word.
Terry Turpin, in the past, had (it hasn't changed to my knowledge) the belief that this material was the vehicle (some day) to his dream of a fully optical P C's. He has also said, being plastic, the computer could be formed in any shape, meaning, literally, the housing of your phone could also be the processor. Limited only to someones imagination.
I'll take the heat of being called a 1%'er any day.
Anyone see this article on Nvidia?
Please comment if interesting.

Including your driving distance off the tee.
I am thinking it was an X story. If x has the time, I am sure he could recall (his mind is like a trap you know) and give us a re-run.
Yes, you are correct Buzz.
Older, less hair and still excited to listen to another Investor meeting.
Hello again to my old LWLG friends.
This is Rod M of the days of LWLG past. I really don't remember if the company was PSI TEC or Third-Order when I first bought shares. But I do remember the Great Pumpkin days, Phil "we are on the launchpad" Smith, the story of the cops busting in to their lab to bust a burglar at 3:00 in the morning only to find Fred Jr. by himself carefully brewing up one more batch of Goo hoping, this time, it would meet his criteria. Thanks Fred. There were the days when Buzz and I would post music videos on Friday afternoon just to keep the message board active. X the always loyal believer and share acquirer-in-chief willing to explain things to the best of his ability.
I haven't posted sense the message board was forced to move over to Investors Hub because of a couple knot-heads. But I still have my small block of shares, my buddy now has more than I. My brother-in-law still has his and we all still believe. These are the guys who will do it.
I am back because it appears, finally, this time it is different. The goo is now clean enough, more than fast enough, durable enough and what did the boss say, will sell at a profit for a price 25% of existing devices we will replace. And OH! did I mention it continues Moore's Law and reduces power dramatically (a big deal).
Continue to buy, blow the cobwebs off those dusty Shares, continue to HOLD and we will see the finish line.
Rodster, or I guess now it's.
Sincerely, Dusty
