Still the India connection?
Think he meant Belford Dolphin.em
#3 with a share swap would be nice...
Balance - Considering the source of that post, I'm very encouraged. Electick has always seemed as up front as can be expected on this board. JDubs
In addition to Oilphant's post yesterday, here's one that caught my eye a while back that now takes on new meaning IMO...

Yeah, AA, we're schvitzing bullets here!!!
Enigma. Saw one at the WWII museum in NOLA last week at the Oflag 64 Reunion
600%? em
then .37 x $23.14... hence the "JMWAG" sorry, haven't had coffee yet!
Electick - no slings and arrows for you; but hopefull an outrageous fortune! I enjoy your posts. Jdubs
Look at it this way, if this guy can keep ERHE in the news while it is relatively unknown, when something big breaks he will look like Woodward and Bernstein to his bosses and peers.
HP - of course not! My Cartesian thinking just doesn't get the way they process info over there and it frustrates me when they beat around the bush. They are so contextual. JDubs
The National Enquirer has more credibility than the news services over there. One could take a contrarian position to their articles and be right more often than not IMO.
OT Tex- I'm relocating to Dallas area. Building a home in Decatur. JDubs
I second. BTW my in-laws ranch in Clifton
Fuma usted la cigarras sr? Te gusta Fuente Fuente Opus X Caronas Doble?
I have to admit: that's pretty clever. Heck,if it means a few bucks a share I will gladly eat some even though I've not been one of your detractors!

Oily- Looks like the press is getting wise to what we've known all along. Here's a recap that many of us on the board collborated on earlier this year. I wrote it up, but its a compilation of thoughts from many on the board. I sent it to numerous news agencies with the disclosure that I was an ERHE shareholder. I post because of the Post article mentioned Diego Garcia as did our recap months ago.
• China needs oil now so they operate with a sense of urgency.
• Nigeria and other GoG countries are growing more and more impatient with super majors like Chevron, and are now awarding exploration rights to smaller, more aggressive companies.
• This plays right into the hands of the Chinese.
• China uses its trade surplus money to secure favor with the countries they are targeting like Nigeria.
• They build things these poor countries desperately need like roads, hospitals and schools.
• In exchange the countries award them exploration contracts.
• Major oil companies like Chevron haven't quite caught on to the new playing field yet. They don’t appear to see the need to win contracts in this way.
• China has takes a "hands off" approach in dealing with rogue governments.
• They don't care how brutal the government treats their citizens as long as they can get to that country's resources.
• The U.S. insists that the rogue government honor certain human rights before they will allow their companies to go in and invest in that country.
• The rules of the exploration game are changing. Natural resources such as oil are going to the highest bidder.
• This isn't just a U.S. vs China game. It's actually a U.S. vs China vs Europe vs India vs Korea vs Indonesia game. We're just seeing the tip of the iceberg in W. Africa.
• Consider the Joint Development Zone in the Gulf of Guinea with Nigeria and a little island country of Sao Tome.
• This area is interesting for a lot of reasons; Nigeria is becoming a real oil power, the security of deep water drilling has some advantages; potentially a W. African Diego Garcia for the U.S..
• However, U.S. citizens should be concerned with how our large oil companies are handling things over there.
• The Gulf of Guinea is supposed to be the next Saudi Arabia in terms of light, sweet crude. Estimates in the Joint Development Zone alone (a portion of the Gulf) place potential reserves as high as 14 billion barrels.
• In the next decade, 25% of the U.S.’s strategic oil reserves will come from this area.
• US Supermajors and mid-level oil companies like Pioneer, Devon and Noble Energy risk losing the U.S. oil race with China.
• For example, in February Pioneer walked away from a small, US independent leaving the door wide open for Sinopec to come in as operator of block 2 in the Nigerian Joint Development Zone.
• You might say, big deal, happens all the time, but Blocks 2 and 4 are rumored to hold vast amounts of oil that could be quickly shipped to the U.S. for refining.
• It now looks like that oil will get sent East instead of West for refining.
• West African oil is primarily the light sweet crude (and lots of it) that our refineries need for making gasoline.
• Yet American majors, by playing hardball with small countries, are willing to risk losing some of the last sweet crude oil reserves on the planet to our largest oil competitors, the Chinese.
• Furthermore, what is to stop Sinopec and CNOOC from targeting low P/E companies like Anadarko for acquisition?
• Heaven forbid China were to come off of the peg; in effect weaponizing their currency!
• Were that to happen, we could find ourselves begging for $3 a gallon!!
• Face it, China has a lot of cash and they’re looking to buy small companies with huge rights in the JDZ.
• By cooperating with third world countries, they basically establish oil satellites similar to the way the Soviets operated in earlier decades.
• Americans may not realize it now, but we are engaged in a Cold War with China over oil, particularly in West Africa.
• Majors like Exxon and Chevron are really banks that build reserves through acquisition.
• As a proxy for the United States in this “oil race” how will they compete with the Chinese and their virtually unlimited financial resource?
• Big Oil is clearly becoming “The Ugly American”. In order to be competitive, U.S. companies must work more collaboratively with emerging countries like Nigeria and others or risk continued loss of lucrative oil rights to China.
• Places like the Gulf of Guinea and Nigeria present huge opportunities for us in terms of oil reserves.
• Such places are also the front lines in the fight against radical Islam, world poverty, and AIDS.
• With the right approach we can win all of these battles AND make a lot of money for U.S. shareholders in the process.
• Like the old saying goes, if you can’t beat’em join ‘em. US supermajors would be well-served to adopt more of an Eastern approach to emerging markets like the Gulf of Guinea than the 20th century model they’re currently using.
• If they don’t, China will be building roads and schools in places like W. Africa.
• And they’ll be doing it with our $10 a gallon!
Hey Richkan, we're ready for that "more later" when you are...

Part 5 of 5 parts? Unitization agreement and selling straddle??
Oops! I'm going to claim ignorance; I'm a Methodist. BTW, my 3 year old son just taped a pair of underpants to the lamp in the living room. Talk about Oy Vey!!! em
Maybe we'll all be sayng "Oy Vez!" on 9/22! em
"With more than 300 ft of oil in at least five sands, Shell's Bonga-1, (WD, 1,100 meters), is the most significant find in the deepwater campaign offshore Nigeria."
"According to Addax Petroleum, which has been designated the operator of Block 4 of the JDZ and has a participating interest in JDZ Blocks 2 and 3, seismic data acquired over each of the Blocks is presently being analyzed to delineate potential drilling locations." Me likey...em
You got that right amj23! If someone's held on up till now, I highly doubt some message board doom and gloom will get them to sell their shares. I for one ain't goin' nowhere! JDubs
Oilphant, you certainly have done your part to keep Google in biz with your posts since April! em
OT- Spec, I'm excited too although I don't think the Sooners are gonna be doing much this year with all of the trouble they've recently had and based on the score of the OU-UAB game yesterday. Bob Stoops will surely have to earn his large salary this season.
BTW, in about 16 years, my future Butkus trophy winner will be hitting the college gridiron. Good stock - his Grandpa was All American Fullback in Juco then played for Baylor in the early 70's. I tell ya, you know your in Oklahoma when the local football coach looks at your 3 year old and the first thing he asks is which school district you live in...
OT- The #1 cigar in the world currently if I'm not mistaken... Though I'm not a smoker, I just might purchase one of those and smoke it on "payday". Happy Labor Day!
This is funny, sort of. I was just reviewing my brokerage account and I'm exactly +$.01 on my ERHE investment... That's right, one penny. BUT hey, I'm in the green so I feel better than I did last fall.
Yup, I appreciate the kind words from everyone, but chcr is right. We should get back to the business of our investment in ERHE. :)
OT- Thanks for the message Bobwill. BTW we are relocating to Texas which puts me in the "wasn't born there but got there as fast as I could" crowd. Hope your son is okay.
BTW, my wife's parents are cattle people (from the panhandle); after this baby delivered so fast they now refer to her as a "good breeder" and remarked that we didn't even need chains and come-along to get that calf pulled. JDubs
OT- What a day and my wife and I are truly touched by the many nice messages from the "ERHC Family" to quote Luca. I have a son soon to be three yrs old (he was a ten pounder by the way!) And I now know why the dads with daughters talk about their daughters like they do. She hit me like a ton of bricks and a totally different feeling than it was with our son. To send the two of them to SMU where I went to college will cost a conservative $750k. With that said, thanks for the kind words and I am now asking the pumpers out there to get to work on this pps! I need a pps of about $5 to cover my future Mustangs' education!
The heartbreaker is here... 8lbs13oz the wife gave 4 good pushes over about 8 minutes and there she was. All toes and fingers intact. Momma is doing great. No name yet.
My opinion on the rig situation is that, if the JDZ in fact has the upside that many of us believe it to have, the larger oil companies with the assistance of Dakourou et al, will find a way to get a rig in there earlier than 2008.
Underpromise and over-deliver. Whoever announces a ginormous find will be toasted as a hero in the news; at least until the consumer figures out that gas prices will not go down as a result. Then the headlines become: "Big Oil Execs Keeping Prices High Despite Record Oil Finds..."
BTW, free wireless at the hospital and wife is sleeping. Baby in about 4-6 hours from now.
Also, my mother-in-law is here too. I've requested an epideral for me from the neck up... (just kiddin)
headed to hospital now, thank you all for the well wishes!!!
Because you all have become such a part of my life for the past year and a half, if you are iclined toward prayer or raising a glass please do one or the other in honor of my baby daughter who is to be born tomorrow. May her ERHE dreams come true and yours as well. Jdubs
as in "C" note??? em
