Thank you. I took a hard look at BIG as well as COST (since they're both releasing tomorrow am) and although they are similar in business- COST seems to have a history of meeting expectations- whereas BIG has beating in the past few quarters.
MW looks good. "They guarantee it". (lol)- not to mention it's wedding/graduation/ceremony in general- season.....
It's hardest for me to pick the tankers in your game.
I'll have to spy some charts on the crazy AMEX market
this afternoon...
will check back soon. GL to you as well,
Bridget
that's it- i'm going fishing for some tanker plays now
Hey tiara thief....nice pick :)
GAPPER: BIG (on a cointoss between big and mw) :)
Four earnings plays for today / tomorrow: MW (today after close) BIG (before open), JCG (after close tomorrow) and ESL (after close tomorrow)
All four are likely to beat earnings again this quarter (imho) and JCG (jcrew) is (in the RL run on anticipation) looks great in the same light as MW (mens warehouse)
BIG (27.98) and JCG (47.66)
MW (22.92) and ESL (57.68)
hmmm- can't recall, but here's what I'm showing:
prior to May, 2006- $1.20 -daily generic price in symbol
May 01, 2006 - $1.80 (was this when it was loaded?)
May 08, 2006- $9.00 (open/high/low and close)
May 15, 2006 - $3.00 (open and close) $9.00 (high)
from there on downnnnn..............
Gotta split! Have a great weekend. BBQ and get some sunshine.
I'll check back here next week. cya!
Hi Axelvento- Well, I am certainly not complaining. I thought this was
just dead weight from my past pinks. Nice of you to check in
from across the waters.
Ciao da America!
any thoughts on BIG for next week? I'm thinking about jumping in eod or on Tues to play for a few days....
but I think earnings might be great again, and worth holding thru......
any others in / thinking about BIG? TIA
I like the house in this photo, smokey...but is it next to train tracks- or is that just a little hill in the background?
Nice choice for planters!!
Arg, XPGH at .09 now and I just posted on the XPGH my experience with Scottrade and those shares. I seem to have no problem if I chose to sell. Call Scott?
link to XPGH post in detail: http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=29537279
.09 now? Who would have thought? Anyhow, Scottrade allows sells on it (no more restrictions with them), fwiw. I did a test just now to see if I had any problems- nope- My only problem was when I tried to enter the limit sell at .50- it was too far off from the current price to enter (for stocks under 10 bucks). No problem at .25 though.
SOLF flying pm on great earnings... PPS up 16%
Dollar Tree Inc, lol
Hey Bad! Why are shares of DLTR more than a buck? Makes no sense to me. :)
....Doesn't seem fair, now does it?
SOLF here. :)) Not chasing though- I got in on Thursday (in the mid 17's)
Not sure how long this will ride. Earnings Wed look promising,
but I'm happy with the profit at this point.
weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
DRYS has had a nice record of beating earnings. I think they're safe, IMHO, to hold thru- and I am not normally a fan of holding thru earnings.
I happened to be looking at DRYS earlier. Nice company. glty
It's far more profitable to me personally to trade big boards.
I'm with you there.
There's a certain maturity in setting a stop loss and going about your daily business.
I do believe in the ebb and flow of the markets however.
We need the pinks, it's promoters, it's watchdogs (and lack of), the IR pumpers, the scammy CEO's.....
to make more valuable...the fully reporting large cap stocks and responsible trading/investing.
If you dump a half million shares during a trading session at it's peak- on the big boards and write about- you are more likely to be wise than "a basher".
lol
Not to mention,(as you know) the real companies do not rely on message boards to run. Imagine that.....
Thanks :) I missed the gapper entry for today- but I still like earnings so far on PWRD. I'll just have to watch this one on my own.
Gooooooooo SOLF! (did you see SOLF today?) I'm proud to say I grabbed it yesterday hoping for a 10% swing before earnings next week. I can't believe it went up 23% today alone. OMG!
and Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Nice one Liz!

agree on MA- beating every reporting est so far. nice gapper, imho
tanker : CFC - earnings tomorrow
i personally don't see it as a scare tactic.
Many folks ( and wisely so ) sell off before earnings.
Lots of great companies run a few days prior
to any numbers being released- good or bad.
A nice living can be made on anticpation.
good luck to us all!
