I meant to say mc instead of sp.
Thanks for your insight!
https://emerginggrowth.com/billionaire-baker-brothers-quietly-back-marker-therapeutics-nasdaq-mrkr/
This article alone should be a driving force to get our s/p to 500 million itself. I don’t know much about emerging growth nor the person that wrote the story. However, it does say on the about page “EmergingGrowth.com, or its associates may have a position either long or short in any company mentioned herein.”
Whether they have a position or not it’s a positive story, it hits all or at the least most of the key factors that should drive the s/p up. I’m dumb founded why other larger investors don’t follow to some degree the Baker Brothers? Notice this statement in the article:
“When taken in context with the other lead investors in MRKR the S-3 reads like a who’s who of investors. Each of these top institutional investors is a lead investor in their own right.
What make this revelation so newsworthy is that it’s rare to see a concentration of lead investors of this prestige in such a small company with a market capitalization under $500 million. Retail investors will be quick to spot the smart money investment from Baker Brothers realizing that the omission from the June press release may have been purposeful and designed to buy time for them to accumulate additional shares in the open market.”
Where’s the retail investors?
The article:
“The real push may come after the Baker Brothers or one of the other key investors files their quarterly 13-F.”
Does anyone know if or when the Baker Brothers will file their quarterly 13-F?
The article:
“the backstory is how these 4 came together to invest is one of the most disruptive technologies in cancer treatment. If history is any tell, these type of investors aren’t swinging for the hundreds of millions of gains, but for the billions.”
This article was written 10/31/2018 today, January 10, 2019 and the s/p is at 271 million and heading south.
Any reasonable thoughts as to why the s/p is where it’s at?
Please don’t say because the overall market is down or because of the government shut down.
Again, the article:
“the backstory is how these 4 came together to invest is one of the most disruptive technologies in cancer treatment.”
Like I said, I’m dumbfounded! I have been long and patient for years over a decade and coming close to 2 decades. Maybe I need to be patient a little longer-lol
Any comments welcomed!
I agree!
Thanks!
I agree! I would have thought we would have seen a bigger market value increase with the update.
We are not even close to our 52 week high and there has been a lot of positive things happen since then, like the Baker Brothers article and the announcement that the father of immuno-oncology joined the scientific board of MRKR...etc...
I can’t put my finger on it.
Hear! Hear!
Thanks!
Gotta say it does shake me to my foundation to see the price back to pennies pre reverse split and pre NASDAQ. Which with all the hype with all the top notch investors and top scientific board etc...I am wondering why this stock is not in demand.
I understood that just with the Baker Bros alone this stock was going to be in short supply. Well that tells you what I know-lol
Time will tell....Can’t sell, can’t average down...just more waiting. If I could I would buy all I could right now.
The more experienced traders understand what’s going on and so if they stay I stay-lol
I appreciate your clear detailed reasoning. I never planned on selling. It’s just frustrating that we get no news from corporate. This just reminds me of the same old stuff that’s happened for the past decade of owning TPIV. News when they need to raise money otherwise crickets-lol
With all the praise of the merger and hype about the combine companies market value being 600 million to a billion, then James P Allison (father of immuno-oncology), the Baker brothers and other big investors just to mention a few of the main points of hype etc....you wouldn’t think it would drop this low. This is discouraging. I know a long time investor like myself shouldn’t watch the daily ups and downs but this is crazy-lol Who would of dreamed we would be literally staring $3 per share in the face. What happened to the projected $16.00 per share and even the 20’s that were mentioned. I don’t think I ever heard anyone mention low $4.00’s or even possibly 3’s-lol
With all that said your points made sense, I just wanted to let off some frustration-lol
Phantom knows I let off steam and has to straighten me out every once in a while-lol
Does anyone have an ideal as to why were still down even though the Dow’s up?
Thanks!
MRKR holders are panicking and selling off, I wish I could pick some up-lol
Fundamentals haven’t changed just the PPS
If I were smart, wealthy, and brave, I would by all the stock I could at this price-lol
Go MRKR Go!
Not to long ago some were thinking $6.00 was a bargain-lol
Hang on to your hats-lol
Hello Hanscott,
I have owned Tpiv stock steady for going on 14 years (2005)
I agree that MRKR did well while the market did not.
Your right, I was just joking about the irony of the situation when I saw all the green and then my red stock.
I have to find some humor-lol
Good morning All!
I was just looking at the stocks I follow, there are 8 of them, out of the 8 All are in the green except 1 of the stocks which is in the red and it happens to be the only stock I own.
Take a guess which stock I own-lol
Have a wonderful day! The sun is shining on all of us!????
Good to hear from you Blu!
We long’s are still here and patient!
I like the statement that our new CFO had to say as to why he accepted the position:
"I consider the opportunity to join Marker Therapeutics to be a great honor, given the transformative nature of the Company's cell therapy platform," said Mr. Kim. "Over my career, I've had the chance to work with many great companies, a number of which have had a major impact within the biotech sector that led to great advances in patient care. However, I believe Marker Therapeutics' patient data are truly exceptional, generating excellent complete response rates in a meaningful number of patients to date. The durability of those complete responses is impressive compared to data I have seen with other therapies, and even more striking in the light of the notable lack of side effects when compared with other immunotherapy-based approaches. Moreover, I believe that the low cost of manufacturing these therapies is game-changing to the industry. It is my belief that Marker has the opportunity to truly transform the lives of patients afflicted by a variety of terrible cancers. I am absolutely thrilled to be part of the Company's efforts to bring these therapies to patients."
Steady as she goes, steady as she goes.
We need something from the company, anything would do!
Please don’t repeat the past several years of no news unless you needed to raise money. You got the money now, please treat us long investors with some respect and keep us informed.
I think this was the problem years ago, we never heard anything until it was time to raise money. I hope they do not repeat that. I hope they will get a steady stream of communication going. Communication is the lifeblood of a marriage and many of us long’s are married to this company, please don’t treat us with disrespect-lol
Thanks,
I agree!
Hey Phantom,
With such a small float the short sellers or seller has to know something.
Why would they feel so confident to take a chance on selling short.
I’m puzzled-lol
I hope they start announcing something soon.
What’s in store for this week?
I see what you mean, if the MRKR product works where the higher price products will not work, they might be leaving money on the table. That may be the case when taking the insurance companies into consideration and then you have to think of those who might need it who can afford the 8k but not the higher priced ones. Who knows! I just hope MRKR gets the product on the market for the benefit of those who needs it Nd at the same time we can make a little profit on our investment.
I hear ya! Makes sense. I wonder if in the future if MRKR’s product comes on the market, if the insurance companies will pay for the $100K - $350K if there is a $8K product that is just as good if not better out there.
I know you ask Phantom and I’m not answering for him, but I figure MRKR thinking along the line of Sam Walton.
Less cost greater market share. I’m not sure if it works the same in health as it does for groceries-lol
For what it’s worth.
Kind of like Sam Walton’s theory. Sell it for less makes it available to more people thus more profit.
Blood Sweat and Tears
“Spinning Wheel”
I hear ya-lol
Thanks for sharing!
I gotta quit looking at the monitor, these price swings are killing me-lol
Be best just to ignore the day to day and just look forward to data presentations when they come-lol
Hello rfj1862,
Could you share with us what post number that you found from Phantom.
I can’t seem to locate it.
Thanks in advance!
Hi Gatta,
I miss RK too! The last time I talked to her was back in June. She mentioned she sold out in order to help out family.
I miss her input, she had a lot of knowledge and her research was exceptional.
I agree when you say we a fortunate to have Phantom, he has a vast knowledge of how things work and a very clear way of explaining things.
I think we are close to seeing things progress.
I wonder if the warrants are being converted. Two day downturn of over a $1.00 loss? Thoughts? How would we know if warrants are being exercised?
Good day to all!
Nice to be on the new board.
Looking forward to a good year!
Thanks Phantom!
Me too!
Thanks!
Hi Phantom,
Phantom, You know me -lol
Because of my belief in this company, I sometimes wear my emotions on my sleeve and go to posting when I shouldn't-lol
I must say when Marv was spewing his negativity a while back it was hard to stay quiet-lol
I watch the interview of Peter again at Hanscott's request and I'm glad I did.
http://media.rampard.com/newsmakers/tapimmune/player.html
I forgot how much promise this company has especially with the merger. The way the chairman introduced Peter was spectacular. Just reviewing the charts they released on this interview strengthened my commitment in this company. The fact that Peter has been friends with James Allison (The Father of Modern Immunotherapy) for 20 years and that Dr. Allison although getting asked weekly to be on SAB's has not been on another Scientific Advisory Board since Kite and has agreed to be on this board because of its science is a HUGE asset to the success of this company. That along with the rest of the SAB. I believe Peter knows what he is doing and has everything in control and is working out the details just the way he planned it to work. I also think he has more up his sleeve than we know.
Thanks!
Thanks for the reminder!
I’m long and not going anywhere soon. However, I do have a concern.
It’s been said before that once TPIV gets noticed the market share will go up or TPIV will experience a buy out offer, hopefully like KITE. (Kite was used as the example since, when compared to TPIV & Marker, they were behind in progress compared to where TPIV is currently. Kite’s value was 3 billion and TPIV’s is 100 Million since Marker is not public yet, hopefully the evaluation will be at least 600 million making both combined at least 700 million)
This is what concerns me:
These are big names TPIV is collaborated with;
Mayo Clinic, DOD, Memorial Sloan Kettering, AstraZeneca,
Dr. James P. Allison (recipient the 2018 Nobel Prize in Medicine or Physiology)
Dr. Padmanee Sharma (recipient of the William B. Coley Award for Distinguished Research in Tumor Immunology)
and that’s not counting Marker’s collaborations.
I can’t help to think with all the collaborations, the new CEO and his connections, all the phase two trials going on, again, not counting what Marker has going on, I’m having a hard time accepting a 100 million evaluation. But, I will admit, I’m not very knowledgeable about stocks. I hope the gentleman who wrote the article about TPIV & Market together being compared to Kite, calling it Kite2.0, knows what he’s talking about.
Well who knows? We will just have to wait and see.-lol
Looks like the market is responding to it-lol
No doubt they did. However, doesn’t hurt to put icing on the cake.-lol
Got my proxy statement from my broker and submitted my vote this morning.
Someone said they didn’t think their small shares mattered. Not true! All votes large and small counts.
Looking forward to the merger and all the good news to come.
This is going to be a great little company that will do good for a lot of people that needs their expertise in this field.
