While viewing any subject screen from my favorites list, such as
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/board.asp?board_id=504
There is no longer an option for removing the boardmark. There is, however, an "Add to Favorites" choice that would do this: http://www.investorshub.com/boards/addBrdMrk.asp?board_id=504 <!--Beg_Sig--
P.S. in edit: I have no idea where the <!--Beg_Sig-- thing came from.
edit
The state choices on your survey stop at Nevada.
I went ahead and fixed it both times. It is okay now, so don't sweat it.
From memory, my answers should have read:
Yes,No,Not sure but hope so,Don't care
When I went back to edit, it read:
Yes,No,Don
cool feature
Here's the first bug report.
Twice now, as I've gone back to edit my survey, some of my answer choices are either gone or missing characters. Since all of my answer choices have not yet been answered, there is no way to see what choices I have offered besides going into the manage surveys/edit screen. Then, with some of my answers missing...well, you get the idea.
Aside from the bug, I think it would be helpful to have even those answers with 0% show up in the results.
Also, I can't think of a single good reason to allow someone the option of choosing "No Answer."
Hey there mr. bob
I have almost gotten my interface to where I want it, but all of my favorite boards, unread messages, clear and the entire block of color that includes the "Favorite Boards" header is blue. I can't figure out how to change it on my interface here. Is this something I have to do on my own browser settings? If so, can you steer me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance.
P.S. You are now 419 = PM + APD + (APM*2)
All I know is,
this is my best guess:
Zeev
Matt
Bob
Jenna
Jimlur
LG
Larry Dudash
excel
mlsoft
ajtj99
In that order.
Now Bob,
how do you ever expect to get your member score above 418 with answers like that?
Well, we can't have it everything.
As long as I'm on the constructive suggestion wagon, here's another:
I am completely lost in the "my interface" page. I seem to recall that when you set it up, you understood that it was kind of clunky from a user's perspective, but it was a cool feature that you wanted to roll out. I agree with that reasoning.
But now, however many months later, I still haven't got a clue as to what I'm doing on that screen. My suggestion is that you replace the strange numbers with actual descriptors for the users to interface with. So, if #ffffcc means "white," how about if it just reads, "white." That would be a big help.
Barring that change, maybe you could allow for instantaneous changes when one makes a change in an interface field, so we can see what it will look like, field by field. Then, once we get it to where we like it, we can hit "save."
I love the "Mark as last unread" feature.
Lots of times I am in the middle of reading 50 unread messages when I have to get up and do something. You should be mighty proud of yourself for thinking this one up.
I have one more suggestion that you might consider, something I have privately wished for for a long time. Referring to the Button menu at the top of the page, it seems to me that the entire button should be hot, not just the text. Especially in 3D, it would really be slick to click on a button and have it actually appear to depress....kind of like the OK button in most Windows applications, or the "Start" button in the bottom left corner of your screen.
Good work.
I'm glad.
With problems like this, it can only be one of two problems:
Either your subscribers are really stupid,
or you have a bad interface.
Or maybe a little of both!
It is your interface.
The "post new" button is the first one in line, so the tendency is to use that. Then you hide the "respond" button in the middle of everything.
I am no newby to message boards, and I still hit the "post new" button from time to time. Fortunately, most of the time I realize what I've done and back up to get the right one.
Your second problem is that you have the buttons named poorly. Ideally, you should code the "respond" button so that it says, "Respond to IH Admin (Matt), or to whoever wrote the post one is responding to.
"Post new" does not really indicate that you are not posting to anyone in particular. It should be called something like, "Stand-alone Post," or "Non-Threaded Submission" or something hopefully a little shorter than that.
Finally, the "respond" button should be moved to a more prominent position and highlighted, to indicate that it is probably the preferred way to respond.
That's my 2 cents anyway.
I had a beauty little Honda CB350 with an orange tank, and I loved it. I will admit, though, that it was not a lot of fun on the highway. Just a little bit too light...or I was too heavy...or something.
I sold it at a garage sale to a 16 year old kid for $150 the day before I moved from Ohio to Rhode Island. Ten minutes later the kid's father came over and started yelling that there was no way his kid was buying that motorcycle from me. I told him, buddy, if you would stop screaming for a second I'll give you the money back. Fact was, if I had had more time I could have gotten ten times as much, easy. As it happens, another guy standing there immediately offered to buy it from me for the same price. Sold. If it didn't fit in my VW van, it wasn't coming with.
I'm 6'2" and mostly legs. It fit just fine for me. You think you're going to be more comfortable on one of those fiberglass pocket rockets? Unless you are pushing 7', you won't have a problem.
Chrome and steel is what you want.
Puhleeez!
I am just about your height, and a little heavier, and I can tell you that a Honda CB550 will suit every one of your needs except the suicidal ones.
Plus, it is one of the few Japanese bikes that even Harley riders like to look at (even if they won't admit it).
Take a look at some of these:

You don't have to refer to me as "coolness."
It's on Showtime!
A little hint for dealing with the press:
Always start the interview by giving them a couple of your cards. Even large circulation papers will get your name wrong at first, but a card with your name and title will help.
