The dollar played a BIG part in today's sell-off as well. From what I could gather, seemed as if some had just got short the dollar and it popped up, and in doing so, brought back BAD memories.
So, those that did started thinking, "oh, not again", and in doing so, helped the sell-off.
Again, good weekend to all, and once I get this house completed and moved-in. I should be able to post a bit more, hopefully. :)
Re: Art Cashin...
Sorry Mike, had to post and run an errand. Indeed, next week should be interesting and I loved the volatility today, easier for me to make money.
Good Weekend to All.
Art Cashin actually said, "we were a couple ticks away from going down 800 pts."
Very smart man... I always take what he says very seriously.
MSFT ss, good day for scalping the tech's on the short-side, imo. Already got AMZN twice and MSFT once.
Re-short, AMZN, missed it at 124.24 watching MSFT, lol. Should have had that order sitting there though, was pre-market high.
I like to go in a little at a time when they are getting "toppy", just my "m.o." :)
CORRECTION, MSFT, started a ss position here, just doesn't look too strong, had a run, etc.
MSFT, watching for a ss somewhere around 29.5 - 30, don't know for sure if I will or not, but looks interesting, imo.
AMZN, two quick flips on ss, but now a little scary, watching.
CREE, currently, just a ss position on CREE, which I'll have to cover for a decent gain b/c I won't be able to be here for the open. :(
Re: Booking profits... absolutely, totally agree, which is why I've only been ss'ing for the most part.
CREE, my tanker pick down a bit, but not enough, yet.
AMZN ss'ing, just covered my last one... had a pretty good idea that anything over 107 was ez-money, and it paid off.
To those who wait 'til 10:30 tomorrow, all I can say is... "no risk, no reward". :) Of course that is said w/ all the respect that is warranted.
Thanks for the fun and have a good night.
FLOW OUT!! :)
AMZN ss'ing, close to 4 figures, glad I didn't take a little nap after I got back from the house project at 2 CST.
Just ss AMZN again well over 107 and already out, hell, this is an ATM. :)
SS'ing not for the faint of heart for sure, esp one moving like this. Again, I don't go "all in"... EVER. lol
120 AMZN SS would be about 110% play, imo.
AMZN, SS, Just did in the uppper 106's, already covered for quick money. :)
You just got to love volatility. :))
Ham, the only "game" is to make money, as long as you do that, you win. :)
I typically don't play the picks b/c I've far too much going on in the real world right now. You know, courts of law, real estate endeavors, etc. But, I'm way up on the year, so just keep that in mind.
Tanker, CREE.
CREE, tanker.
Options... Yeah Mike, I honestly haven't had the time to explore trading them. I just bite the "margin bullet" and try to keep my folio balance as high as possible.
One of these days, though, I will be right there trading them too.
GOOD LUCK THE REST OF THE DAY, IT'S OFF TO WORK ON THE HOUSE FOR ME. IT'S HARD WORK FOR A ONE-LEGGED, BROKEN-BACK, SOB BUT IT SHOULD BE WELL WORTH IT IN THE END.
ZION, last comment...
Maybe it's best I stick to doing what I know, ss'ing. lol :)
Sorry to hear that, I did very well yesterday and today, but at least it wasn't a loss.
ZION, just covered some in the 16.7's; however, it could easily hit 16ish too, just don't know if it will be today or not, lol.
Thank You Sir,
Flow :)
ZION, thank again and I'm sure it's going through 17 shortly. :)
ZION/STI, you've got one of the best track records on this board, so I took you advice and started building a short on ZION.
Either way, thank you sir for the "heads-up".
MPG, me too, out at 2.77... I'll take a quick 3 bills for less than a 1/2 hour trade, anytime, and I've gotta lot to do to the house before "D-day" next Thurs.
GOOD LUCK THE REST OF THE DAY! :)
MPG... Ico, probably options exp for the "unusual" action and I'd be really surprised if it didn't get some kind of bounce during this time of day.
We shall see, good luck. :)
Will do Bale, been awhile, but I'll start.
Thanks, but I'm out again, got stuck in the .40's - .50, so take the money and run is my moto.
Gotta go finish painting a house that I bought in about an hour or so.
GOOD LUCK!! :)
And, it held around 14, where I was building another position. Hopefully, I can sit on me hands this time and just raise the stop, but knowing me, I wouldn't bet on it. LOL :)
Sure did, in the 11's, and of course, I've been doing my usual flippin' since the p.m. open. :)
correction: BMTI, duh! :)
Got some last night in the 11's, thanks to listener's posts.
Listener, CMTI... THANK YOU!!
IMO, 1200 next stop.
When you calculate inflation, 2000 should be achievable, and as long as the administration keeps spending money, dating back almost 9 years now, and we know that they will continue to do so, the dollar has only one choice... GO DEEP (as Griff would say). :)
However, I did like the comments last week about raising rates, finally!!
I like what I see, and the chart looks good too, so I'm in for a few to start.
See ya tomorrow, and Good Luck!! :)
I'm quite sure that your supervisors know exactly what you do w/ every minute of your day.
Playing devil's advocate here, but they do pay you for your time, and the company has been well lately, correct? So, they must be doing something right. lol
Anyway, don't know why nobody didn't post anything about SIRI, in for a bunch when I saw the vol going up on Wed, but out now. :))
HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND ALL!! :)
Thank you.
