Would somebody mind posting the content of the newsletter on here please? I finished my employment contract and work email (KBLB update email) has been deactivated.....
I'm planning on getting stinking drunk tonight, hoping to wake up to a newsletter to read while hungover.
Spiber are definitely very resistant to providing specifics, more vague than the most skilled politician:
"The material 'stands up' to snow and rain"
Nothing in this implies that the material is any better than silkworm silk.
How much 'spider silk' was used in the material? It is obviously not 100% so is it 50%, 10% or 1%??
This presentation would have been ripped apart by some in this board had it been about KBLB
Ha ha, why are you going to reprimand them for getting the ticker wrong on one occasion? :)
Apologies, limited to 2 posts:
Thanks Imelcooler, as I didn't really know Steve (JB2) so all
I had to go on was what he posted on here. I'm disappointed that I won't be able to say "I told you so" but also disappointed that he was so heavily invested but passed before this thing hit the roof! He was incredibly skeptical but deserved to see a return in his lifetime
Sorry imelcooler I'm lost!
I thought exactly the same thing Mike.
Anybody have any pearls of wisdom that could explain our nice increased volume and resultant share price hike yesterday?
Interesting truth but in all honesty I have a very skeptical attitude towards 'announcements of success' in Nam. The press is heavily regulated and censored and there is an inherent unwillingness to shed negative light on many things. When a serious accident occurs, it is played down. When something good happens, it is exaggerated. It gets a bit tiresome at times, it even happens in my company. We built a small offshore platform that was a piece of dogcrap, allegedly sways in the wind, went over budget by around 30% ($18M) but was done with little expat involvement. As such the company sung from the rafters how successful the job was and the GM even sent an email round to all staff announcing the success and claiming it was built in budget which was a complete and utter lie. When bad news hits, it's covered up or played down.
However the fact that the World Bank's representative is non-Vietnamese does however add some credibility.
Absolutely right Rayo. There is lots regarding the corruption that I don't know but I do know it is very sophisticated & organised certainly compared to other countries. The plus side is that the country still functions well irrespective of this and many foreign enterprises are thriving here. I lived in Indonesia previously and the corruption there is endemic also but completely debilitating. The country is a mess due to the corruption. I still believe it will happen and be successful, my belief is that the desire to revolutionise the industry is strong enough to guarantee it going through. Thankfully the government does commit itself to tackling big corruption although I'm not sure how successful this is as in Vietnam it seems to transcend all the way to the top. One shocking thing is how they are trying to deter it, the death penalty for cases that have far reaching detrimental effects! A number of high level officials have been executed by firing squad in the past 5 years!!
This is going to both revitalise and revolutionise the Vietnamese silk industry. This will give Vietnamese silk a significant leg-up against the other silks of the world. This deal will happen, it has to happen and excites me so much.
My only fear is if Kim and Jon encounter an excessive amount of corrupt practices. Kim being a legal eagle, I am sure he is both sufficiently aware and fearful of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Unfortunately kickbacks are commonplace and endemic in most industries and some big profile projects have hit the wall here in Vietnam, sadly.
Unfortunately not Golferman, in all honesty I don't believe he is as involved or 'in the know' as I had originally thought/hoped.
I assure you I will post anything I do find out as soon as I know.
Nice to hear Jonny, agree completely
If you truly believed that Jonny then you wouldn't still be here!
...forensic accounting will likely lower kblb's value...
Ha ha it sounds like JB left you his remaining Kool-Aid
Rayo probably knows/remembers more than me but he used to post regularly from late 2010 until he was banned probably around 2013? He took time away and then recommenced posting but with a different alias, I cannot remember the name tbh.
He was good buddy's with Manshoon (ex chief mod) and they both shared a very angry resentful attitude towards Kim and the (perceived) lack of progress. If he did sell out, he undoubtedly took a large hit at the time. In all honesty his resentment and anger made it seem that he had overextended himself and had gambled money he either couldn't afford to lose or couldn't afford to wait for.
We didn't always agree but I did have some favourable memories of him. I made a bet with him late January (I think 2012) that KBLB would reach a certain milestone within a years time. As you may have guessed he won and the deal was $100 to a charity of his choice. I paid up and he was gracious enough to send me an email to thank me. He obviously involved himself in some philanthropy which always deserves respect.
Anyway RIP Steve (JB2), from his FB page he's missed by an awful lot of people which is telling.
No idea but I've asked on Facebook. I think he was "Caribe Steve" on FB. From what I can gather he passed at home, sounds like a heart attack or similar. Reading his FB page he was a massively popular guy as the number of tributes is huge.
Anybody remember jb2?
I hope I have my facts wrong but I think I have just seen on Facebook that he has passed on. He was quite a polarising chap and we never saw eye to eye on many things but I am genuinely saddened to know he won't be around to benefit from Kraig's success. From what i know he had a decent sized holding in the millions.
RIP Steve (JB2)
I bet they don't even have a box
Crude translation Bob, the original article was not in English
Hello Bob, understand your opinion completely. I'm just saying that if it were a guaranteed $3 soon as opposed to a possible/potential $10 POSSIBLY in the future then I would probably grab it while it was there. $6M and I have more money than I can spend. I can look after my extended family and live a fantastic life.
If the PPS reached $3 (as opposed to a buyout) in all honesty what I would probably do would be to sell maybe 50% of my holdings and start enjoying the money while waiting for the company to realise it's full potential, best of both worlds......
Sorry Bob but I'm with Imjin at this time. I'd be happy to take my US$6M and run for the hills!
Yeah can anybody give me a brief update on why this has fallen so heavily in the past month or so? Thanks in advance
Hi Rayo, I'm if the opinion that if the contracts are sizeable enough then there will be time restrictions on them so the Vietnam deal being secured would be a must.
Cheers
Ha ha but Kim Thompson makes similar claims and you dismiss it as hogwash
Thanks for the kind words Romans, very nice of you to say!
I still don't quite understand your comments regarding limited time though?
Late here and I'm still limited to 2 posts a day so any response will be tomorrow. Take care & good luck
What do you mean when you say your timeframe is now limited Romans?
As EV said already, the fact of the matter is that these fame hungry startups love to shout about what they have achieved.
If any of them had succeeded to produce economically then they would be shouting from the rooftops. But I don't need to point out something so obvious, you've got to know that!
Well I never!
It's on tradeking also :)
Sorry Patrik but this took me from surprise, guess my man on the ground isn't as close to the action as I had hoped. He knew nothing about it tbh.
I've asked him to investigate but no response yet, I will post anything I get.....
Yeah so am I. History has shown me that I'm usually surprised by how the market reacts. Sometimes I'm expecting a big pop and we get a muted raise (probably traders selling into the news). Other times we get a pop for no apparent logical reason.
One thing is for sure, it's been a while since I've looked forward to the markets opening this much :)
Hi Col, they could be talking to multiple provinces but the term 'Central Government' refers to the main government (typically the big wigs in Hanoi). The provincial government I presume refers to Lam Dong.
GLTY
"So would it be for protective wear?"
"No, more like sportswear, the clothes you wear every day"
Wonder why that is? :)
Thanks Esk
Personally, I would be surprised if the newsletter wasn't Jon Rice's idea. Kim has historically not shown much initiative in this respect and all the noise coming out about Jon implies that he has a bit more gumption......
Hello Golferman apologies for the late reply, I sent him a message but he was at a wedding when I messaged and has only just responded. Unfortunately he has no news to share, yet.......
Anybody that performed any worthwhile DD would know exactly where the lab is, it's no secret.
I struggle to think of the ridicule that would ensue in Kim's direction if he had made this statement. I'm sure the term 'Mickey Mouse Outift' may have been used.
To be honest the whole article is full of holes, the like that numerous posters here would be pulling apart had the article been on KBLB. But the point is it isn't so no stones will be thrown, double standards..........
From what I am reading they have achieved jackshot. They have been playing with lots of 'simulations' and it sounds like the simulations have produced positive results but I have some shocking news for you, simulations are not real!
Sounds like these guys may be able to collaborate with KBLB in 10-15 years or so, maybe, just maybe.
Great work Esk, little worried about the fact that they could be producing properly by 2025 (not)!!!
