Jet, try to keep up. This was all discussed here yesterday.

Pretty sure it's a t2i. But, I'm not familiar enough with Tamron lenses to be able to make a determination on the AF/MF question. Shouldn't be that hard to add a second motor, however.

Ren, I like what I see as well. They've obviously had enough experience to offer a myriad of levels of sophistication. I'm not sure which picture you are refering to, but they do list a T2i in their mid-sized DSLR balloon systems. They have specific mounts for cameras and camcorders that they've chosen to mount. I chuckled when I saw under their list of options that the Emergency Cut-Down Device was "highly recommended", and for a mere $350. "You can force the entire rig to come down by electronically cutting a repairable hole in the aerostat." The good news with aerostats, as IJO has correctly intimated, is that they come down soft, hopefully not damaging too much in the process. Referring to the Kingfisher's near calamity while shooting the Discovery Channels' Shark Week, the site says "The Kingfisher demonstrated its resilience after coming into contact with the water, boat and other obstructions. (Obstructions? Ha, they're at sea - must have been the boat or a seagull.) There were some tense moments, followed by shouts of elation, as the Kingfisher provided the platform necessary for getting what was until now, an impossible shot." Please note that in the pictures, the camera mount is attached to the tether and not to the aerostat directly. I believe this gives a certain "steadycam" stability to the shot that otherwise could not be possible if connected directly to the bobbing Kingfisher. Analagous to a fishing rig that ties the sinker to a separate part of the line so as not to disturb the fly, but yet keeps its focus and depth in the direction it needs to go. Very cool company, glad to know Glenn and Tony have made this connection.

Nice. Now all you need is a wireless pan/tilt head supported in a 3 gimbal system and wireless video back to ground!:)
bank
Didn't mean to not answer your second part. I was only thinking that someone out there must be able to make lightweight glass that would more suit target tracking. On a side note, my Canon XF cameras have a feature that tracks a face in the crowd and keeps it in focus automatically. It would be nice to know what real world capabilities like that the BIB package has.

Sweet. They're a lot of fun. I know guys who have gone through a dozen of them. Would love to see video from your home-build when you get to that point. Cheers!
bank
No, you don't really. Check out the new GoPro camera. Fits in your palm, shoots full HD. I've seen it and it looks amazing. The optics are tiny.

Agreed, our saving grace is the recycler. That is clear.
I'm just saying that a 1/3" CMOS sensor , for instance, that is capable of 1920X 1080 pixels shouldn't add a gram of weight. And, unless I'm missing something, the fiber optic tether can handle that amount of data.
Anyhow, just happy to hear some news.
bank
Ah. Thank you. I had imagined a 3 gimbal system, thanks for the confirmation. But, I'm disappointed with the camera specs as they are published. Hopefully, we have an upgraded version of that one.
bank
Mide, I share your concern. When it comes to legal wording, the company does well. When it comes to technical descriptions and adaptations, I'm never quite sure how accurate things are. My initial feeling was that the company simply improved it's source of aerostat over the previous off the shelf design. Let's face it, we buy the parts from someone, we might as well improve where we can. I don't feel that this in any way changes our patented deployment and recovery system. Just my humble opinion.
bank
Thinking about a part of our last conversation, I don't see any kind of mechanical stabilization for the camera payload. Almost certainly there is electronic image stabilization, but, I don't see any gimbal or the like.
bank
2 new pics on the fb page in addition to the 2 from last night.

Good stuff, IJO.
Because of my line of work, I love the "perfect shot" application mentioned in the KingFisher blurb. Now I want one.
bank
IJO,
Very cogent discussion. IMO, you have made it clear that you need to head up our sales department. :) I believe your interpretation of that part of our marketplace is accurate. And, if we are not, at least, in some discussion somewhere with entities that fit this category, then we need someone who can have that discussion on our behalf. There are sales to be had.

"We anticipate generating revenues from the sale of our airships in 2013, our aerostats in 2012 and are already generating revenue from our GTC products." (my bold)
Tick, tick, tick. . .
bank
Gtel, good to see you again as well. Thanks for sharing your visit to Easton with us. And, I do think that drinks with IJO and D would be just the ticket next go-round.
bank
BBB, it was a gorgeous view from the rolling hills of virginia. The sliver of moon side by side with Venus. Very cool. Thanks for that heads up. It made the drive to my breakfast with IJO and gtel very enjoyable.
bank
IJO, just confirming 7am breakfast tomorrow. Looking forward to meeting you.
bank
See you at 7 then. Indy?
bank
IJO, that's fine. 6am? That should get me there ahead of most of the traffic. Looking forward to it.
bank
Gtel,
How was your trip to Easton?
bank
IJO, it's because I've read it that I now have trouble sleeping. Not only because there is a possibility that Argus may fit in that loophole, but to compound matters, it appears the FAA can't figure out who they are anymore! Ugh. Policy makers? BS. Why doesn't big government work? Oh, to count the ways. . .
bank
Gtel, it was great meeting you today. Your positive outlook on the company, despite the ringer you've been put through, was refreshing. I'm hoping the company will allow us a tour at Easton. At least counsel has listened and it is being considered - keep your fingers crossed. Of course, we could always initiate a folicly challenged Acumen style stalking raid on the airport! Lol! Shame he didn't respond to our invite to lunch.
See you in a couple of weeks. GLTALS.
bank
Gtel, See you on the 28th.
bank
It appears that site hasn't been updated for 5 years.

Anything we can do to avoid continued share printing is well worth the discussion. Honestly, I believed that MC & GE had more creative funding in mind when they came in. That has not been the case, to my great disappointment.
bank
IJO, I'm good for the evening of Dec 11.
bank
Gtel,
Barbara replied and said she would talk with Glenn and the others in regards to my request. In the meantime, how about Joe's on Wednesday at noon?

Acumen and anyone else is more than welcome. The more, the merrier, as they say.

Let me know.

Thanks Over,
I truly believe that as a company and as shareholders, we will all have a lot to be thankful for down the road.
Blessings All,
bank
4-6 huh? I'd take that at this point. Are you considering all of that as coming from GTC?
bank
I also deposited mine in a TD Ameritrade acount, although it's been a year or so since I was successful in doing so. It took a while as I also had to get a legal opinion first. Again, Barbara personally made sure the slow NY firm completed the opinion, same story as you I guess. It's all good now, though.
bank
Warp, I purchased a number of shares through Basis originally. I always questioned why there was a relationship between the company and Armen, other than they were local. WSGI seemed loyal to them even though, to me, Basis seemed a bit shady. Regardless, they handled my purchase just fine and Barbara was extremely helpful along the way.
bank
Gtel, you want to try Barbara for a tour or would you like me to?
bank
That's a good week for me as well. I may be able to get another SH friend of mine to join us. Closer to Sterling might work? I'm flexible, though.
bank
You read my mind. Love to do Easton. About 2-2 1/2 depending on time of day, but would be well worth the trip. 12/8-12/11 are all good for me.
bank
Let's set up something for after Thanksgiving. Indy, when are you near Herndon next?
bank
Again, a plus for the BIAB helium reclaiming feature.
