Loop - best post in 5 years. By anyone, period!
I can go with that theory. it is plausable.
I believe that if the $20 million is from apple it is for paid up 2G like everyone else IDCC has signed I believe AAPL will have an updated contract for 3G.
based on the 8k for the AAPL contract I can see how one could interpret it to say 7 years, $20,000,000 for all phones current and future. I choose to interpret it differently. Logic and the companies own statements serve to form my opinion counter to the .37 per phone analysts.

before anyone jumps up and down i should have said in my last post that it was just my opinion. I don't know that IDCC will get $10 or 10 cents. At this point no one knows how much the combined aapl ifx licenses are worth. I was just having fun with numbers.
Let's have some fun with numbers.
a standard 40 ft shipping container holds 2390 cubic feet
my motorola Q cell phone came in a box that is 105 cubic inches
2390 * 144 = 344160 cubic inches
344160 / 105 = 3277 phones
3277 * 163 = 534151 total phones
if IDCC gets $10 from each phone for stack + aapl license, that is $5.34 mil to IDCC bottom line on the first 1/2 million phones.
Makes you wonder if they entered into the agreement with IFX in partnership with aapl. I cant imagin that the aple iphone just started design less than a year ago. They have several hundred containers of phones pree shipped all over the country. You don't just say one day "next month I think we will release a new phone in 70 different countries". This has been years in the making for apple, and by default, I would guess, IDCC and IFX as well.
all roads seem t obe leading to "easy street" for long investors.
Good article, kjf. Looks like we're in! I can't wait for the announcement from IDCC. This really validates their strategy of teaming up with IFX years ago and putting so much work into the protocol stack.
one of my other holdings went nuts today. MRVL. up 26% on earnings suprise. our day will come soon. AAPL will fule our earnings big time.
Gary, that is not their 'hat' that they keep pulling the rabits from!
Hope you are right but Samsung and Nokia always seem to pull a rabbit out of the hat
OK per the form 4 the options were granted "10/14/1999". So he could have exersized and held. so what. I'm ok with him selling these after he exercized. they are his to do what he wants. Shat folks, let him alone. Maybe some of you should open your ballance sheet so we can all critisize you for how you handle your money.
data, this just happened to be relpied to your post. it's not aimed at you, unless of course, you are pizzin on WB for this sale.
Jim
the message you are sending is pretty loud as well. You re getting tired of waiting on this stock. I hope you don't sell out just before the train leaves, but if you do I understand. Your post says it all.
the fact that the options had a strike price of 6$ should tell you that they have been issued quite a while ago. I havent looked at the form 4 yet but will say I bet they were ready to expire.
Again, I think your post says more about your current feelings than about what the sale means to the stock or about BM's character
and you are always ready to throw on a bit more gasoline.
apparently no one told you that your not suppose to DRINK the bong water
With 13.8 mm in legal expenses gone we would have an added $.28 EPS.
Excluding the effect of insurance recoveries and an adjustment to an accrual for legal expenses, first quarter 2008 patent litigations and arbitration expenses totaled $13.8 million
your post seems to have left a trail in the bowl. and it looks like Romulus voted 8 times and NS voted Once. LOL

good post. During hitler's run for Czechoslovakia, the league of nations condemned hitler, but was useless to do anything. Just like the CCI from France.
Loop,
That same attitude and work ethic has crept into all corners of our society. I fear it has spread too deeply into the fiber of society to be turned around safely. It will be a very painful action that will force this from our midst.

Demonstration illustrates Motorola's capability to deploy mobile WiMAX
technology for operators in the region
SINGAPORE, April 8, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Motorola (NYSE: MOT)
today unveiled the mobile WiMAX experience during an exclusive bus tour at
the WiMAX Forum Congress Asia 2008 in Singapore. This is Motorola's first
mobile WiMAX demonstration with live handoffs between access points to the
public in Asia Pacific. The demonstration marks another milestone as
Motorola accelerates the delivery of personal media experience to users in
the region.
The demonstration is conducted through a mobile WiMAX network set up at
Motorola's facility in Ang Mo Kio, Singapore. Attendees joining the bus
tour are able to experience various mobile applications including video
conferencing, web browsing and mobile streaming while moving past access
point sites along the bus route. Additionally, as the WiMAX connection is
extended through an air router, guests will also be able to experience
mobile broadband through their own WiFi enabled devices.
"Mobile WiMAX is an essential part of Motorola's portfolio to deliver
broadband everywhere enabling consumers to access high speed Internet at
home and on-the-go," said Mike Ropicky, senior director of marketing and
product operations, Home & Networks Mobility, Motorola Asia Pacific.
"Today's demonstration reinforces Motorola's capability in providing and
deploying mobile WiMAX technology that is ready for commercial deployment
in the Asia Pacific region."
The network infrastructure is powered by Motorola's WAP 400 access
points with backhaul provided by Motorola's wireless IP backhaul equipment
at the company's facility. During the tour, the signal was seamlessly
transmitted and handed off between access point sites, providing an
uninterrupted broadband experience to users. Laptops enabled with
Motorola's WiMAX PC cards for high speed video were also demonstrated on
the bus.
Mobile WiMAX solutions will enable operators in Asia Pacific to provide
cost-effective, fast and easy-to-deploy broadband services to fixed,
portable and mobile users. Motorola has won numerous commercial contracts
and conducted trials across Asia Pacific including the first trial in
Thailand with United Information Highway.
The demonstration builds on Motorola's leadership in developing
wireless broadband technology. Motorola now has 19 contracts for commercial
WiMAX networks in 18 countries around the world. For more information about
Motorola wi4 WiMAX solutions, please visit: http://www.motorola.com/wimax.

I think the bolded statment below would insure he would NOT make that kind of statement to you.
Thanks, that's what I was looking for, his previous position actually, Chief Legal Officer. Having held that position, does anyone really believe he would make that kind of statement to anyone? Especially someone he knows makes dubious post on an internet chat board. I don't think so. At least I hope not or we're in trouble if he's that careless or stupid. IMO

the golden item in the fore ground is a loaf of bread. behind it is a keyboard with a space bar on it. The space bar is the longest key on the keyboard. You seem to hit it between words. you have to hit it after you hit the period at the end of a sentence.
put a loaf of bread in front of your keyboard if that helps. If not then eat the loaf.
if your keyboard did not come with a loaf of bread as most do, you can find one in the bakery section of your local grocery store.
they are so easy to spot sometimes!!
